- Chapter 13.1 - He Would Protect Luoxiang Mountain with His Life
Curing Bai Mei Sheng was not easy, and damaging the heart meridians was an ongoing pain. Even if the pain could be avoided, the injuries were real. So, Ning Yao discussed with Jie Zhongyi and decided not to wait any longer. Once Bai Mei Sheng was removed, they would use the Nine Yin Cold Spirit Herb for Feng Jingzhuo.
Anyway, Feng Jingzhuo already had so many lingering illnesses, and his heart meridians needed to be reforged. It was better to treat everything at once so he could recover quickly—there were still important things to do later.
Jie Zhongyi asked, “Besides ascending, what else is so important?”
Ning Yao answered vaguely, “Isn’t the Cangyuan Dragon Clan planning to use us for nourishment? We have to prepare for that.”
Jie Zhongyi reminded him, “What are you planning to do? Don’t mess around. The Cangyuan Dragon Clan is one thing, and Feng Jingzhuo is another. They are not the same.”
Ning Yao felt insulted. “Of course, I know that! The Cangyuan Dragon Clan is our enemy, while Feng Jingzhuo is our partner in ascension—and a great one at that. I can tell the difference.”
“Then what exactly are you trying to do?”
Ning Yao, as the mountain lord, sometimes had the common flaws of a leader. “Let’s heal him first. Once he’s recovered, we’ll talk.”
“Move aside, move aside! Don’t crowd! It’s hot, hot, hot…”
Jie Zhongyi carried a bowl of steaming, milky-white soup from the kitchen and slammed it onto the table. The heat made his ears sting as he cursed, “Are you even human? None of you have any sense! I’m the only one doing all the work, and no one even offers to help. Are you people even human?”
Feng Jingzhuo was lying on the bed inside. His face was pale, but hearing Jie Zhongyi’s complaints, he smiled slightly and tried to sit up.
Jie Zhongyi rushed over to press him back down. “I wasn’t talking about you. Just stay put. Your heart meridians haven’t healed yet. If you move too much, you’ll feel pain every time you use your energy in the future.”
He reached out to fix Feng Jingzhuo’s hair and added in a sarcastic tone, “Jingzhuo, why are you in such a hurry? There are plenty of people here. I wasn’t talking about you.”
“Oh, so if you didn’t mean him, then you meant us?”
Ning Yao straightened up from his slouched position on the chair, narrowing his eyes with authority. “Yes, I meant you all. No sense of awareness at all! Making the old man do all the work, and no one even thinks to help. Are you even human?”
Chu Xiao had no choice but to shift the blame. He turned to Ning Yuzhu and gave him a push. “Well? Are you human?”
Ning Yuzhu flared up. “Oh, right, right, you guys are the only humans here. Your whole family is human. Happy now?”
Frustrated, he looked around but found no allies. Feeling wronged, he ran over to Feng Jingzhuo, shoved Jie Zhongyi aside, and complained, “Brother Zhuo! Look at how they’re bullying me!”
Feng Jingzhuo replied calmly, “They’re not bullying you. They like you—that’s why they tease you.”
Ning Yao burst into laughter. “Hahaha… No wonder Ning Yuzhu likes sticking to you. Being your little brother must be a dream come true for him.”
Ning Yuzhu, without hesitation, praised Feng Jingzhuo while putting the others down. “Brother Zhuo, you’re nothing like these people in the mountains.”
Ning Yao walked over and smacked Ning Yuzhu on the back of the head. “What do you mean, ‘these people’? No respect at all! Get lost!”
After shooing Ning Yuzhu away, Ning Yao sat down and pointed at the bowl Jie Zhongyi had brought over. “Grandmaster, can we drink this now?”
Jie Zhongyi placed two pillows behind Feng Jingzhuo’s head and helped him sit comfortably. “Drink it while it’s hot.”
Ning Yao picked up the bowl and blew on it.
The soup inside was thick, milky white, and radiated an overwhelming spiritual energy. Even in such a small bowl, the energy felt vast and boundless.
Feng Jingzhuo asked, “Yao Yao, what is this?”
Ning Yao hesitated for a moment. Seeing that Jie Zhongyi was about to answer, he stopped him. “Grandmaster, don’t say it. You’re not creative. Chu Xiao, give it a name.”
Chu Xiao, without missing a beat, said, “Head-Spinning Water.”
What a terrible name. Ning Yao rolled his eyes. “Might as well call it ‘Bow Before Me’ instead.” Seeing Feng Jingzhuo’s confused expression, he quickly explained, “No, no, I’m not telling you to bow. I mean after you drink this, you can tell others to bow before you!”
Feng Jingzhuo had a guess but hesitated to confirm. “Yao Yao, what exactly is this?”
Ning Yao smirked. “I already told you—it’s called ‘Bow Before Me.’ Why are you still asking?”
Ning Yuzhu cut in. “The name is so rude, like something an illiterate brute would come up with. I think it should be called ‘Forget-Worries Soup’ instead.”
Feng Jingzhuo sighed and turned to Jie Zhongyi for a real answer.
Jie Zhongyi struggled for words. “It’s just… a kind of… fresh milk mushroom soup.”

Ning Yao didn’t really love Jingzhou. She just used him. Too bad for him suffering for a thousand years in guilt for killing her when that was really her goal in the first place.
