- Chapter 19 - The Omega Sister (19)
Feng Zimo had come to pick up Bai Chenchen from work. As soon as he entered, he overheard the staff gossiping:
“Bai Chenchen’s lucky today! The VIP room guests put a several-hundred-thousand-yuan bill under her name.” “A wealthy patron has taken a liking to Bai Chenchen.”
Hearing these rumors, an inexplicable anger flared in Feng Zimo’s heart. After a moment of reflection, he reasoned, Chenchen is so devoted to me; she would never betray me.
But a sudden sense of unease struck him. Chenchen must have run into some sleazy, nouveau riche patron.
He strode to the VIP room door, ready to play the hero and rescue his damsel in distress. But when he pushed the door open, he was met with this scene.
“Jiang Yushu! What are you doing?”
Feng Zimo rushed forward, yanking Bai Chenchen free from Jiang Yushu’s grip and shielding her behind him. He glared furiously at Jiang Yushu.
“Can’t you just let go of me?” Feng Zimo gritted his teeth. “I always thought you were a docile, obedient Omega. I never imagined you could be so vicious! Resorting to such despicable tactics to harass Chenchen?”
Jiang Yushu lazily yawned. Feng Zimo’s nonsense sounded like mere barking to her ears.
“I was just chatting with her. What? Is it wrong to pay for a conversation at a bar now?”
“Is that how you ‘chat’?” Jiang Yushu gently stroked Bai Chenchen’s jaw, her touch surprisingly firm. A faint red mark lingered on the girl’s face.
Bai Chenchen trembled, clutching Feng Zimo’s sleeve tightly. “Brother Mo, I’m scared.”
“Don’t worry, I’m here. She won’t dare do anything to you.”
This display of overbearing male lead behavior made Jiang Yushu’s stomach churn. Didn’t Feng Zimo realize how utterly cheesy he sounded?
“Just leave,” she said, wanting to end the conversation.
If Bai Chenchen alone annoyed Jiang Yushu, adding Feng Zimo to the mix made her feel genuinely nauseous.
She wasn’t one to seek out unpleasantness. It was better to dismiss them and enjoy her milk in the private room.
Seeing her utterly indifferent demeanor, Feng Zimo realized he’d been blind to her true nature all along. Determined to avenge Bai Chenchen, he lunged forward and yanked Jiang Yushu off the sofa.
Caught off guard, Jiang Yushu was momentarily caught in his grip.
Damn it! Just because I haven’t shown my claws doesn’t mean I’m some harmless Hello Kitty! With a furious flick of her wrist, Jiang Yushu unleashed a fraction of her spiritual power, throwing off Feng Zimo’s hand.
Feng Zimo, completely unprepared for an Omega to possess such strength, stumbled backward, barely managing to steady himself against the wall.
“You…” How could Jiang Yushu be so strong? In his memory, she had always been delicate and frail.
Could it be that the Jiang Yushu he knew had been nothing but a facade? If so, this Omega was far more terrifying than he had ever imagined.
Jiang Yushu crossed her arms, her voice icy. “Mr. Feng, you may speak, but keep your hands to yourself. An Alpha laying hands on an Omega is grounds for a harassment lawsuit.”
“Jiang Yushu, what exactly do you want?” Feng Zimo straightened his posture. “You rejected the terms I offered you yourself. What’s the point of harassing me and Chenchen now?”
What kind of twisted logic is this? Jiang Yushu thought, turning her face away. Where did this idiot get the idea that I’m harassing him?
But Feng Zimo misinterpreted her disdain as lingering affection. He convinced himself that he had struck a nerve, that Jiang Yushu still harbored feelings for him and was targeting Chenchen out of jealousy, wanting to monopolize his love.
Composing himself, he gazed at Jiang Yushu’s nearly flawless features. “However… my previous offer still stands. If you’re willing to become my Omega, I’ll still treat you well.”
“Enough,” Jiang Yushu interrupted, waving her hand dismissively. “Mr. Feng, you’re ugly, but your fantasies are quite beautiful. Have you looked in a mirror lately? Do you even deserve me? With that face, you dare dream of having multiple lovers? It’s like a toad trying to seduce a frog—ugly and delusional.”
“You…” Feng Zimo sputtered, choked by her rapid-fire insults.
“What ‘me’? This young lady knows she possesses beauty that could make fish sink, geese fall, the moon hide, and flowers blush. Now that Mr. Feng’s mind is clear, he realizes he’s unworthy of me. From now on, please stop indulging in your unrealistic fantasies and keep your Omega in check. Don’t let him do anything repulsive.”
“What?” Feng Zimo was confused. What had Chenchen done?
In Feng Zimo’s eyes, Bai Chenchen had always been the image of a hardworking, impoverished Omega, striving tirelessly to improve her family’s circumstances.
Bai Chenchen was pure and innocent, unlike Jiang Yushu, who was born into privilege. What repulsive things could she possibly have done? This was just Jiang Yushu’s word against hers.
Bai Chenchen’s hand, clutching the corner of Feng Zimo’s sleeve, tightened unconsciously. Jiang Yushu wouldn’t reveal that secret, would she?
If Feng Zimo ever learned that the child in her womb wasn’t his, she would lose everything she had now.
Swallowing nervously, she lowered her head, trying to shrink into the background and avoid drawing Jiang Yushu’s attention.
Jiang Yushu wasn’t foolish. The System had revealed to her that the child in Bai Chenchen’s womb wasn’t Feng Zimo’s.
Without concrete evidence, blurting this out would only make Feng Zimo think she was trying to drive a wedge between him and Bai Chenchen.
“If you don’t understand, never mind.” Jiang Yushu shrugged, a mocking smile playing on her lips as she turned to Bai Chenchen. “Miss Bai knows what I mean. I trust she’ll be more honest in the future.”
It seemed the Female Lead’s initial target hadn’t been the Male Lead after all. Considering this materialistic Omega’s elaborate efforts to cultivate a certain image…
Her true target had been Feng Canjiu from the start.
As one of society’s most prominent Alphas, Feng Canjiu had encountered countless Omegas.
Novels often featured stories of domineering CEOs and innocent “white lotus” heroines.
Unfortunately for Bai Chenchen, Feng Canjiu wasn’t the kind of brainless CEO found in fiction, and she lacked the fortune to latch onto such a formidable figure.
It seemed the Female Lead had been reading too many unrealistic novels.
Host, you’re correct.
…… Jiang Yushu mentally rolled her eyes at the System. You really love making your presence known, don’t you? Always chiming in with a comment or two, even at times like this.
Knock, knock, knock. Three sharp knocks echoed through the room. Fan Xunxi stood at the door, impeccably dressed in a black-and-white suit, a stark contrast to her usual flamboyant “Peacock” persona.
She pushed the door open with a gentlemanly stride. “Apologies for the intrusion. I heard there was some trouble in this private room and came to investigate.”
The warm smile might have seemed out of place on another Alpha, but this was the International Film Empress, accustomed to playing countless roles.
Even with this complete reversal of her usual image, Fan Xunxi truly embodied the persona of a Western gentleman Alpha in that moment.
Seeing another person she disliked enter the room, Jiang Yushu rose to leave. “Let’s call it a night.”
As she brushed past Feng Zimo, intending to walk away, he grabbed her slender arm. “Don’t you dare leave! Explain yourself.”
What do you mean by “disgusting”? What did Chenchen ever do to you? Why are you targeting her like this?
“Let go,” Jiang Yushu said, her voice icy. Her mind was already calculating which move she would use to beat this shark-brained Male Lead half to death.
Feng Canjiu wasn’t here anyway, so why bother pretending to be well-behaved?
“Jiang Yushu, you’ve changed.”
“Hah,” she scoffed coldly. Indeed, I’ve changed. The original owner is gone forever. “Do you really think you know me?”
Feng Zimo sighed heavily, utterly helpless against this new Jiang Yushu. He felt Bai Chenchen’s hand clenching his sleeve.
A flicker of resolve flashed in his eyes. “You can’t just leave like this, Jiang Yushu. You’ve gone too far today. You’ve even bruised Chenchen’s chin. Apologize to Chenchen, and we’ll let this go.”
“Huh?” Are you kidding me? She’s the one who made me encounter Fan Xunxi during my heat, and I’m supposed to apologize to her?
What’s wrong with this Omega’s chin? Is it made of gold? A little pinch and it’s already bruised?
“Are you joking?” She scoffed and turned away, refusing to look at that face that made her want to vomit.
A cold glint flickered in Fan Xunxi’s eyes, hidden beneath her feigned gentleness. “Mr. Feng, please let go.”
These words ignited a nameless fury in Feng Zimo’s heart. He jabbed a finger at Fan Xunxi’s nose. “What’s it to you? You’re just an actress. You have no right to speak to me like that.”
“Mr. Feng is right, I am indeed an actress. But since this is my bar, I believe I have the right to ask you to leave.”
Fan Xunxi emphasized the word “ask,” but anyone with a brain knew she wouldn’t resort to gentle methods to get him out.
Having heard that Jiang Yushu was in Room 303, she had dressed up and come specifically to see him.
Deep down, she didn’t want Jiang Yushu to leave so quickly. Ironically, her entire outfit was an imitation of someone else.
Fan Xunxi knew that Jiang Yushu’s crush was on Feng Canjiu.
He must like this type, she thought. As a versatile actress, she figured it wouldn’t hurt to slightly alter her style to pursue the Omega she desired.
“Since you know, shut up,” Feng Zimo snapped, his chest heaving. He had been enduring Feng Canjiu’s temper lately.
Jiang Yushu was the eldest daughter of the Jiang Family. Feng Zimo could tolerate being slighted himself—after all, Feng Canjiu wouldn’t risk attacking the Jiang Family over a minor spat between them.
But who exactly was this Fan Xunxi? No matter how famous she was, to him she was just a performer meant to please others, someone he didn’t need to take seriously.
“You really don’t understand,” Jiang Yushu said, finding the man utterly ridiculous. How could someone so dense become the Male Lead of this world?
Fan Xunxi’s current status must be due not only to her own abilities but also to powerful backers behind her.
Feng Zimo was merely an adopted son of the Feng Family. What right did he have to speak to Fan Xunxi in such a way?
Tired of playing along, Jiang Yushu tried to break free from his grip. She didn’t want to hear another word from either of them.
These Alphas are all the same—utterly worthless.
Host, Feng Canjiu is in this bar.
Jiang Yushu froze mid-struggle. Where is she?
Next door. She seems to be here for a business meeting, the System analyzed, thoughtfully projecting images from the adjacent room into Jiang Yushu’s mind: several Alphas in sharp suits sat in a row.
This room was anything but “pure.” It was filled with beautiful Omegas, and every Alpha except Feng Canjiu had one on each arm.
Feng Canjiu sat off to the side, covering her nose and mouth as if utterly repulsed by the overwhelming scent.
Isn’t she supposed to have Disorder Syndrome? Are those Alphas releasing pheromones?
Before Jiang Yushu could dwell on it further, Feng Canjiu stood up and pushed open the private room door. Her direction… was it toward room 303?
“Jiang Yushu!” Feng Zimo, noticing her distraction, grew even angrier and tightened his grip.
Jiang Yushu winced, frowning. “Feng Zimo, what do you want?”
“An apology.”
“Impossible.”
“Please let go,” Fan Xunxi said, pulling at Feng Zimo’s arm. She had noticed Jiang Yushu’s reddening arm. This Alpha is utterly lacking in manners.
“What’s it to you?!” Feng Zimo raised his hand toward Fan Xunxi.
Glancing at the doorway, Jiang Yushu’s lips curled into a slight smile. She stepped in front of Fan Xunxi. “Careful.”
A sharp slap echoed through the room, plunging it into silence and drawing the attention of those outside the private room.
