- Chapter 21 - The Omega Sister (21)
The atmosphere in the Jiang Family had completely transformed. If it had been shrouded in dark clouds before, today it was filled with joyous cheer.
Jiang Zhen glanced at his daughter, a smile playing on her lips.
He then turned to his second son, the one who refused to work and lived off his parents. “Where exactly did you two go last night? What happened to your sister?”
Jiang Hengshu shrank back, thinking, Can I really tell them? That their precious daughter was kissed, and she seemed to enjoy it?
“Are you going to talk or not? What happened last night?” Jiang Hengyuan grabbed his younger brother by the scruff of his neck. What’s this kid trying to hide?
Jiang Hengshu clutched his neck, wriggling free from his eldest brother’s grip. “Don’t pressure me!”
He had been dismissed by his sister early on and genuinely didn’t know what happened afterward.
Besides, he had only glimpsed through the dim alleyway light that his sister was pinned against the wall.
And then…Â Who would have thought? The world’s gone to hell! Feng Canjiu, that prim and proper woman, actually did something like that to an Omega?
It started with his sister being cornered, but then he saw her wrapping her arms around Feng Canjiu’s neck. It was clearly a mutual affair.
How am I supposed to explain this? I was spying on them, for crying out loud!
If I tell them, what if my sister stops talking to me?
Jiang Zhen shot him a cold glance before turning to Jiang Yushu, a warm smile spreading across his face. “Darling, what’s got you so happy?”
“Huh?” Jiang Yushu looked up, only then realizing the entire family was staring at her. What’s going on?
“What did you say?”
Jiang Zhen sighed inwardly, wondering what had gotten into his precious daughter. “Darling, Father means, what happened to make you so happy?”
Even when she got engaged to Feng Zimo, she hadn’t been this radiant.
“Hmm…” Jiang Yushu’s smile widened as she recalled someone’s confession from the night before. “I’ve fallen for you. Can I have a chance?”
“I’ve never courted an Omega before. I don’t know what to do, but I know many Alphas do this. If you find it presumptuous, you can hit me. I won’t fight back.”
What a goofy Alpha!
The thought made Jiang Yushu burst out laughing.
“Last night, I started dating someone. She even kissed me.”
“What?!” the Alphas exclaimed in unison.
Jiang Zhen, seeing the way his precious daughter looked at her phone, was almost certain this Alpha was Feng Canjiu. She even took advantage of my darling! But if that’s the case, does that make me Feng Canjiu’s father-in-law? This status is excellent. I’m quite satisfied. It’s all thanks to my precious daughter—she’s far more capable than her useless brothers.
A dangerous glint flashed in Jiang Hengyuan’s eyes. That damned bastard? He dared to take advantage of my sister?
Jiang Hengshu, cowering nearby, curled up like a dog trying to survive, terrified that his eldest brother’s fury would engulf him. It wasn’t me who said anything! I wouldn’t dare interfere! My sister clearly likes her!
Jiang Henge pushed up his glasses, his voice calm despite his disbelief. “I never imagined CEO Feng, someone so proper, would do something like this.”
“Hmph.” Jiang Yushu shrugged. Third Brother, don’t even start. She’s terrifying! If not for the System, my lips would still be swollen from this morning.
I’m head over heels for her! This must be the one. She confessed, kissed me, and then… nothing. She even blushed just holding my hand.
“It’s Feng Canjiu,” Jiang Hengyuan said, collapsing into his chair. We can’t afford to cross her. But if that’s the case, does that make me the eldest brother-in-law of the Feng Family, one of Jing City’s top elite clans?
There didn’t seem to be anything wrong with that.
“So, when are you two getting married?” Jiang Zhen asked with a smile.
Jiang Yushu rolled her eyes. “What are you talking about, Dad? We just kissed! How did you jump to marriage?”
“That won’t do,” Jiang Hengyuan chimed in, always eager for drama. “Now that you’ve kissed, you have to take responsibility!”
Hurry up and become Mrs. Feng.
The four Alphas in the family were putting on quite a show. Incredibly, by the end of breakfast, they had nearly decided on names for Feng Canjiu and Jiang Yushu’s future children.
Jiang Yushu chuckled and shook her head. You guys really dare to dream. Children? I’m just a passerby in this world. Even with an Omega’s body, my soul would never allow me to leave descendants in this Minor World.
Bored, she rested her head in her hand, thinking about how shy Feng Canjiu had been last night. When will we finally take things further?
The System was speechless at its Host’s lewd thoughts. This Host’s mind is full of nothing but inappropriate things.
Jiang Yushu mentally rolled her eyes at the System. I’ve been celibate for four hundred thousand years, you know. I finally meet someone I like, and wanting to do that is perfectly normal!
Returning to her room, Jiang Yushu left the four Alphas in the dining room to continue their charade.
She collapsed onto her soft bed and began analyzing the information gathered by the System to determine the biological parent of Bai Chenchen’s child.
After hours of analysis, Jiang Yushu realized this was no easy task. It seemed she would need to immerse herself in the Female Lead’s life and conduct some firsthand investigation.
I’ll start with her parents, she thought, rising to her feet. She instructed the System to retrieve the address of the Female Lead’s residential complex: 188 Longjing Road. An old neighborhood, she mused.
Jiang Yushu considered taking her Second Brother’s car to visit. Just as she was about to leave, the System’s voice chimed in.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. What kind of dream is Feng Canjiu having? It’s all pixelated.
The System’s remark stopped Jiang Yushu in her tracks. Show me.
The System projected Feng Canjiu’s dream into Jiang Yushu’s mind. Since their encounter the previous night, the System had been able to glean some information about Feng Canjiu.
However, it could only access fragmented, pixelated dream fragments. The System was curious about this antagonist—a mere soul from a Minor World, yet possessing such formidable power.
The dreamscape was familiar to Jiang Yushu: a dimly lit fitting room, pixelated squares, and two snow-white bodies.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk,” Jiang Yushu clicked his tongue, raising an eyebrow. “I never knew you were that kind of sister?”
Host, what did you see? the System asked, its innocent nature incapable of comprehending the complexities of human communication.
Shh. Jiang Yushu pressed a slender finger to his lips. She’s dreaming about our first meeting. A complete mark on our first encounter… she’s doing that to me… Ah, I love fitting rooms too.
System… you really didn’t need to go into such detail. I’m corrupted now.
A smirk tugged at Jiang Yushu’s lips as he pondered. How long must I wait? Watching this dream, he found himself damnably anticipatory once more.
Feng Canjiu woke up in a cold sweat, startled by the vividness of her dream. How could I have such a dream?
She went to the bathroom to wash up, noticing the faint redness at the corners of her eyes in the mirror. Though the dream had been dark, the Omega’s every smile and frown had felt so real, as if projected right before her.
Her fingers went cold as toothpaste unconsciously landed on her index finger.
Ugh, this feels so wrong. She’s still just a child. If Jiang Yushu ever found out about these thoughts, the poor thing would probably be terrified of me.
I can’t let Jiang Yushu find out.
Alphas take their first love very seriously, constantly striving to leave a good impression on their partner.
Last night, Feng Canjiu had felt herself acting impulsively. How could I just pin the little one against the wall and kiss her like that?
I’m 35 years old, yet I acted like a teenager.
Perhaps it was because someone like Jiang Yushu had never appeared in Feng Canjiu’s life before.
She had originally scheduled a doctor to visit today, but after kissing Jiang Yushu last night, her physical condition had changed dramatically.
The previous feeling of weakness had vanished, and her gland seemed to be secreting pheromones normally again.
All thanks to Jiang Yushu’s pheromones.
Feng Canjiu had never liked the scent of any Omega’s pheromones, but Jiang Yushu’s was like a ray of light in her otherwise bleak existence.
Thinking of those eyes, the corners of her lips involuntarily curved upward. What was that little one doing today?
Beep, beep, beep—her phone rang.
A surge of joy welled up in her heart. Could it be her?
Setting down her toothbrush, she answered the call without checking the caller ID.
“Hello,” she said, her voice carrying a hint of amusement.
The person on the other end paused for a few seconds before speaking. “Boss.”
Hearing He Liang’s voice, Feng Canjiu’s tone instantly turned cold. “Yes? What is it?”
“It’s about the Longjing Road project. We’re supposed to be demolishing the area, right? But one household is refusing to budge.” Did the boss find a wallet or something?
Even finding money wouldn’t make her this happy. What’s wrong? Does my voice displease her so much?
The Longjing Road demolition was a joint project between the government and the Feng Family. Hadn’t they already settled with all the residents?
“What’s the situation now?” Feng Canjiu quickly composed herself. This matter couldn’t be delayed; the land wasn’t just about her and the public sector—Fu Chenlan’s Oasis Group also had a stake in it.
Chenlan had invested most of her assets in this project. Feng Canjiu could afford to lose, but Chenlan couldn’t. She had just had a child and desperately needed this project to succeed.
He Liang looked anxiously at the family before him, who were making a scene. “Boss, I really can’t handle this anymore. CEO Fu will be here soon.”
This meant Feng Canjiu had to come herself. The phone call hadn’t explicitly stated it, only that Fu Chenlan would be there, but Feng Canjiu understood He Liang’s coded message: public officials would also be arriving shortly.
“Understood. Do your best to calm them down until I get there. Greet them for me when they arrive.”
The ones who needed calming down weren’t just the residents facing demolition; the public officials were the most critical.
The land was earmarked for a public urban renewal project, vital to the city’s image. If the officials saw the Feng Family couldn’t even resolve this simple matter, future collaborations with the public sector would be jeopardized.
Yet Feng Canjiu never imagined she would witness another side of Jiang Yushu—a side that would completely captivate her.
