- Chapter 24 - The Omega Sister (24)
Night, Feng Family.
The child lay asleep on the soft, large bed. Feng Canjiu sat beside her, watching the child’s peaceful slumber. After confirming she was asleep, Feng Canjiu gently tucked the blanket around her and left.
She quietly closed the door and went downstairs, where Jiang Yushu sat on the sofa, watching her with a smile.
“I never imagined you could be so gentle with a child, Sister,” Jiang Yushu said, her tone tinged with jealousy. “So gentle, I’m almost jealous.”
Jiang Yushu had always believed Feng Canjiu to be a strict mother. Her treatment of Feng Zimo confirmed this impression—the woman was always stern.
Initially, the child had been terrified of Feng Canjiu. But after Feng Canjiu asked her to call her “Mother,” the child seemed to drop all her defenses.
The child was overjoyed. In her life, she had never known a mother figure.
Held in Feng Canjiu’s arms, she could feel the Alpha’s strength and drifted into a deep sleep almost instantly.
Feng Canjiu carried the child to the guest room and stayed by her side for a while before leaving.
“You…”
“Don’t you think you should change how you address me, Sister?” Jiang Yushu wrapped her arms around the Alpha’s neck and pulled her close.
Feng Canjiu, afraid of crushing her, braced herself with one hand beside Jiang Yushu’s ear. Even so, their faces were now intimately close.
“Yushu?”
“No.” Jiang Yushu actually liked being called “Little One,” but whenever Feng Canjiu used that nickname, there was always something… strange about it.
The strangeness likely stemmed from the Alpha’s lingering sense of moral superiority.
If Feng Canjiu kept calling her that, Jiang Yushu feared they might remain platonic indefinitely.
That wasn’t the kind of relationship Jiang Yushu wanted. With someone she loved, she had no desire to stay so “pure.”
“Shushu,” Feng Canjiu murmured, gazing into her eyes, their foreheads touching. She loved those eyes.
The image of Jiang Yushu’s dazzlingly assertive demeanor from earlier that day flashed through her mind. A faint smile curved Feng Canjiu’s lips. “I never imagined Shushu had two faces.”
Jiang Yushu’s mouth twitched slightly. You really had to bring this up at a time like this?
“What’s wrong? Are you regretting it, Sister?” Jiang Yushu hummed softly, pressing a kiss to the corner of Feng Canjiu’s lips. “It’s too late for regrets. Don’t forget, you were the one who initiated things last night.”
“I never said I regretted anything,” Feng Canjiu chuckled. What’s this little rascal imagining now?
Recalling the scene at the factory, Feng Canjiu’s doubts deepened. She had never been in love before, but she knew that in a relationship, it was best to avoid keeping too many secrets.
“Why did you go to the factory today?”
Jiang Yushu didn’t intend to hide anything. He glanced toward the room where the child was. “To see Bai Chenchen’s parents. I wanted to learn the truth about something.”
“What truth? Can I help?” A bitter pang struck Feng Canjiu’s heart. Has she still not completely let go of that ungrateful foster son of hers?
The faint trace of bitterness in her eyes was barely visible, yet Jiang Yushu’s sharp gaze caught it instantly. He cupped her face in his hands. “What are you thinking? How could he ever compare to you? Why are you even comparing yourself to him?”
This person is… Is it true that love makes people foolish?
One was the Alpha every Omega dreamed of marrying, ranked No. 1, while the other was just a fool. Moreover, this fool inexplicably hit all her aesthetic preferences.
“I don’t like him,” Jiang Yushu declared firmly. The one who liked Feng Zimo was the original owner of this body, never this soul.
“The Jiang Yushu who loved Feng Zimo is dead.”
Feng Canjiu froze for a moment, sensing a profound meaning in those words. Gazing into her eyes, she saw only unwavering resolve.
She was telling the truth, without a hint of falsehood.
“The one I’ve always loved, from beginning to end, is you, Sister.”
“But you still…”
Pfft. Jiang Yushu leaned close to her ear and gently blew a breath. “Sister~, if I hadn’t acted that way, would you have even given me the time of day?”
Feng Canjiu’s ear flushed a faint pink, a hint of helplessness in her heart. It seemed she had fallen for this little one’s tricks from the very beginning.
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll get angry if you talk to me like that?” Feng Canjiu gently flicked Jiang Yushu’s nose, her voice laced with indulgent affection.
Jiang Yushu’s chin trembled slightly before she tilted her head, exposing her vulnerable gland to the Alpha. “When you marked me in the fitting room, Sister, you didn’t consider whether I’d be angry then either, did you?”
This was a bombshell for Feng Canjiu.
Memories of that day and the dream she’d had flooded her fragile nerves.
The scent, the sight of Jiang Yushu’s gland—Feng Canjiu’s eyes gradually lost focus.
“I was…” She wanted to explain, but then she remembered her dream. Would Jiang Yushu mind? “You were still so young…”
“Sister~”
Feng Canjiu swallowed hard. How could someone who had never been in love recognize an invitation? She tried to pull away from Jiang Yushu.
But Jiang Yushu gave her no chance. She reached for the Alpha.
“Sister, I’m an adult now.”
She gently kissed Feng Canjiu’s earlobe, her warm tongue tracing the curve of her ear. “Sister, I want a long-term mark. May I?”
Initially, Alpha remained cautious, but under Jiang Yushu’s relentless charm and sweet-talking assault, Feng Canjiu eventually succumbed.
However, Jiang Yushu’s awakening the next day was far from pleasant. After all, who could feel comfortable waking up to Little Sys’s mocking laughter? (I wanted to write something more explicit here, but Green Jiang wouldn’t allow it…)
