- Chapter 3 - The Omega Sister (3)
Following the original owner’s memories, Jiang Yushu drove home.
Just as she entered, she saw her nominal father, Jiang Zhen, glaring at her with a displeased expression.
Jiang Yushu rolled her eyes inwardly—a gesture directed at the original owner. Look at how this foolish girl’s bizarre behavior has infuriated the entire family!
“Did you go see Feng Zimo again?” Jiang Zhen snapped.
“Father, don’t be so harsh on your sister,” a male Alpha in a tailored suit said as he descended the stairs from the second floor. This was Jiang Hengyuan, the original owner’s eldest brother and the current CEO of the Jiang Group.
A lazy male voice drifted from the sofa: “Exactly, Father. If your words could make a difference with her, pigs would be climbing trees. We might as well just castrate that Feng kid.”
Jiang Yushu glanced at the speaker—a handsome man with short, golden hair. This was Jiang Hengshu, the original owner’s second brother and a wildly popular film star.
“What did he say to you when he called you out?” The Alpha, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, handed Jiang Yushu a cup of coffee. His crisp white shirt accentuated his restrained, ascetic charm. This was Jiang Henge, the original owner’s third brother and Jing City’s top lawyer.
Jiang Yushu mentally cursed her original self again. With such a powerful background, how could she have ended up in such a miserable state in the original story? It was truly unbelievable.
Forcing a tearful expression, Jiang Yushu sniffed dramatically. “I told him…”
“What?” The four men asked in unison, their eyes fixed on her.
Jiang Yushu wiped away nonexistent tears from the corners of her eyes and sighed. “I told him to annul the engagement.”
The simple statement left the four Alphas exchanging bewildered glances. Could they have misheard?
“Little sister, are you serious?” Jiang Hengyuan, as the eldest brother, was the first to react.
Jiang Yushu nodded, a hint of helplessness in her eyes. “You wouldn’t believe it. He’s been sleeping with a new intern at his company. That Omega is even pregnant now.”
“What?!” Jiang Hengshu, known for his fiery temper, exploded. “Then why did he even call you over? If he’s already gotten another Omega pregnant, why not just end the engagement immediately?”
The other Alphas shared his sentiment. What more needed to be said?
Jiang Zhen’s expression darkened. Recalling his daughter’s heartbroken appearance just days ago, he realized this boy had been seeing another Omega all along.
Jiang Yushu was the Jiang family’s only Omega daughter. From childhood, both Jiang Zhen and her brothers had spoiled her beyond measure.
Jiang Zhen’s Omega had passed away early, when Jiang Yushu was only five years old. Since then, the Jiang family’s little princess had become a household name throughout Jing City.
“He called you in because he doesn’t want to break off the engagement?” Jiang Zhen’s words sounded like a question, but Jiang Yushu knew this old fox had already guessed the gist of her conversation with Feng Zimo.
Jiang Yushu had no intention of hiding anything. That damned saintly image was something she’d discard sooner or later.
And it was best to get them used to her new persona as quickly as possible.
Jiang Yushu pursed her lips, her expression feigning reluctance. “Yes, Father. But he actually suggested raising that Omega’s child outside our home! Isn’t that just wanting two families? I don’t understand. I refused him. All I want now is to break off the engagement.”
The four men still couldn’t quite believe it. This little darling had been utterly infatuated with Feng Zimo just days ago. How could she have suddenly changed her mind?
“Yushu, are you serious?” Jiang Hengyuan’s narrow eyes held a sharp glint, as if he were trying to pierce through her familiar facade and see into her soul.
Jiang Yushu turned slightly, allowing him to see the resolute determination in her eyes. “I am, Big Brother. I can’t accept something like this.”
“Something like this…” Jiang Yushu bit her lip and lowered her head. “Isn’t this just too absurd? If I agree this time, what if he later decides to bring that Omega and their child to live here? How would we all live together?”
At her words, Jiang Zhen slammed his hand heavily on the coffee table, the force causing the scattered teacups to jump.
“He wouldn’t dare!” Jiang Zhen stood up. “This engagement must be broken off.”
He pulled out his flip phone, found Feng Canjiu’s number, and dialed. The call went unanswered.
Staring at the automatically disconnected call, Jiang Zhen’s expression darkened. Though young, Feng Canjiu held considerable influence within the Jing City Circle.
She was also an extremely busy woman, not only managing the Feng Family’s business but also serving as the representative for the Jing City Business-Political Alliance.
With the Business-Political Alliance Meeting in Jing City just around the corner, Feng Canjiu must be swamped with work.
“My dear sister,” Jiang Hengshu said, wrapping an arm around Jiang Yushu’s shoulders. He was fair-skinned and of average height, but compared to his two brothers, he appeared rather delicate. “You’ve finally come to your senses! Let whoever wants this sea of bitterness have it. Come, let me introduce you to a few…”
He pulled a stack of photos from the cabinet between the sofas, tugged Jiang Yushu down beside him, and opened the album in front of her. “Look, these are some people I know. He’s a singer, handsome, and most importantly, no scandals… Hey, Jiang Henge, what are you doing?!”
Jiang Henge snatched the album from his brother’s hand and tossed it onto the nearby sofa. “Don’t introduce our little sister to these entertainment industry types. I have plenty of high-quality legal elites here.” He patted the left br3ast pocket of his shirt and pulled out his own stack of photos.
“All of you, get out of here!” Jiang Hengyuan, displeased with their antics, threw all the photos into the trash can. “Our little sister is only nineteen. Why rush her into marriage so early?”
Jiang Yushu was already getting a headache from her two older brothers when she saw her eldest brother emerge to rescue her. She couldn’t help but feel a surge of gratitude. He really is a reserved and composed person, she thought.
Jiang Hengyuan cleared his throat and pulled a stack of photos from his suit jacket’s inner pocket. “These are all industry elites from Jing City, each worth over ten billion.”
Jiang Yushu: So I was wrong about you after all.
They say three women make a drama, but her family was even better: three male Alphas making a drama.
The three brothers surrounded Jiang Yushu, each chattering incessantly. Annoyed, she threw her hands up and shouted, “I like female Alphas!”
The shout instantly restored order to the living room. Jiang Yushu sighed in relief, finally getting some peace.
The three brothers exchanged bewildered glances. What did our sister just say? Jiang Hengshu winked at the other two.
Jiang Hengyuan frowned slightly. “Yushu just said she likes female Alphas now.”
“Well…” Jiang Henge stroked his chin, frantically searching his mind for suitable candidates. “There really aren’t any in the legal field.”
The smile on Jiang Hengshu’s face completely vanished. The entertainment industry was full of Alphas, including many female Alphas, but those women were far from virtuous.
Sometimes they were even more promiscuous than male Alphas. Female Alphas naturally possessed a physical advantage over their male counterparts, especially in the cutthroat world of entertainment.
Jiang Hengyuan mentally reviewed potential candidates, but after careful consideration, Feng Canjiu seemed to be the only viable option.
However, his younger sister had just broken off her engagement with her adopted son, and the Business-Political Alliance Meeting was at a critical juncture. If rumors of a relationship between Jiang Yushu and Feng Canjiu surfaced, who knew what kind of scandal it would ignite?
Moreover, he had heard that Feng Canjiu had… certain issues, apparently unable to tolerate close physical contact with Omegas.
“Brother, what do we do? We’re out of options,” Jiang Hengshu sighed.
Jiang Henge’s expression darkened. “Same here.”
As the three men struggled with this dilemma, Jiang Zhen stood up. “Enough. Whatever kind of person Yushu likes now, as long as it’s not that Feng Zimo brat, I’ll be satisfied. Tonight, the Fu Family is hosting a one-month celebration for their daughter. You three will accompany me.”
A one-month celebration? Jiang Yushu secretly curled her lip. It sounded like a superficial affair, a simple celebration, but it would inevitably involve fawning over the Fu Family.
The Fu Family, Jing City’s real estate magnates, hadn’t been established for long, but with Feng Canjiu’s backing of their Oasis Group, their growth had been meteoric.
Fu Chenlan, the Fu Family’s leader, and Feng Canjiu were longtime friends. After retiring from the military, Fu Chenlan founded Oasis Group with Feng Canjiu’s support.
Jiang Yushu found such business-oriented gatherings uninteresting. She’d rather stay home and tease the System—that was far more entertaining.
“I’ll just…”
Before she could decline, Jiang Zhen recognized his daughter’s reluctance. She’d always disliked these events, her heart and mind consumed by the useless Alpha, Feng Zimo.
This time, he was determined to bring her along. Now that her feelings for Feng Zimo had cooled, it was time for her to see Jing City’s true young talents.
“Feng Canjiu will be there. It’s the perfect opportunity to discuss ending the engagement,” Jiang Zhen said, picking up his coat from the sofa. “Besides, all of Jing City’s most eligible female Alphas will be attending. Are you sure you want to miss that?”
This argument struck a chord with Jiang Yushu. How could she resist seeing beautiful and cool young ladies? “Alright, Father. I’ll get ready and join you and my brothers.”
At the Feng Family Estate, Feng Canjiu sat in the courtyard, idly turning the ring on her left middle finger.
A thick stack of neatly arranged documents lay on the table before her—all matters she had already handled.
“Boss,” He Liang’s voice sounded as he approached Feng Canjiu’s side, his unease palpable.
Feng Canjiu’s eyes remained lightly closed as she murmured a faint acknowledgment. “It’s done?”
He Liang stammered, “The Young Master’s arrangements are complete. He said he’ll move in right away. But… there’s something else.”
“Speak,” Feng Canjiu said, her eyes snapping open. The icy glint in her gaze pierced He Liang, radiating an authority that needed no anger to command respect.
He Liang took a deep breath. “I apologize, Boss, but the surveillance camera in the shop’s fitting room just happened to be broken.”
Feng Canjiu rotated the ring on her finger. Broken? What a coincidence. She had assumed finding that Omega would be a simple matter. Her plan was straightforward: offer the woman a sum of money in exchange for providing her pheromones for a period of time.
But now, there was absolutely no news from the other party.
Seeing Feng Canjiu’s silent contemplation, He Liang tried to ease the tension between her and her boss by changing the subject. “Boss, you mustn’t forget—tonight is the Fu Family’s full moon celebration.”
“Right, I almost forgot,” Feng Canjiu said, pinching her throbbing temples. Recent events had been overwhelming, and with her Disorder Syndrome acting up, she’d completely pushed the matter to the back of her mind.
Feng Canjiu stood up and walked toward the house. “Prepare some beautiful dresses for Chenlan’s daughter. Chenlan wanted an Omega, so I’ll cover all the child’s clothing expenses from infancy onward.”
“Understood.”
“Also, bring Chenlan a few bottles of good wine. We’ll be there on time tonight.”
