The White Moonlight’s Exclusive Alpha (Entertainment) - Chapter 2
Standing on the podium, Mu Xue felt a sense of exhaustion for the first time.
She rarely spoke in front of so many people anymore. The “delayed differentiation” disorder and the drugs to treat it had taken a toll on her health, forcing her to retire from acting five years ago to work behind the scenes as a producer, a job that was less physically demanding.
But now, even coordinating just one film a year was starting to feel like too much.
Maybe it was truly time for her to exit the stage, she thought, and all she needed was a grand enough final bow.
The woman’s light gray eyes swept carelessly over the bustling crowd below, and then she was jolted to attention when her eyes met a pair of sparkling black ones.
Tang Xiaoyang instinctively turned away, her heart pounding.
Did Mu Xue see her?
When she looked up again, Mu Xue had already finished her speech. After a final thank you to everyone, she exited the stage without a second glance.
It must have been a mistake, Tang Xiaoyang sighed with relief, but also felt a faint sense of loss.
For some reason, even though Mu Xue’s speech was as elegant and flawless as ever, she couldn’t shake the feeling that the woman looked incredibly tired.
Tang Xiaoyang couldn’t help but shake her head and laugh at her own concern. How could a perfectionist like Mu Xue possibly show fatigue at a social event?
Mu Xue didn’t reappear after she left. The protagonist of this several-hour-long birthday party had only been present for less than ten minutes, and the event ultimately became a friendly business conference and mixer.
The Mu family had arranged for all guests to stay overnight on the second floor of the castle. Tang Xiaoyang decided to stay for the night and leave early the next morning.
Most guests, being prominent figures in business and entertainment, chose to leave. They had their own cars and busy schedules.
Tang Xiaoyang walked alone down a bright but empty corridor and finally found her room in a corner.
The room was spotless and furnished just like a luxurious hotel. As soon as she entered, she caught a faint scent. She was too exhausted to pay much attention and just wanted to take a shower and go to bed.
This is the Mu family’s property, she thought with a self-deprecating laugh. Even if the media and fans were omnipresent, there’s no way they could get in here to attack me.
But within a few minutes, she started to feel groggy and hot, as if she had a fever.
There’s something wrong with this room…
Just as her hand reached for the doorknob, she heard a key card being used on the other side.
She instinctively tried to hold the door shut, but her usually strong arm had no power. The door was pushed open forcefully from the outside, and the tall, slender woman fell heavily to the floor.
The two male Omegas from earlier were now disgustingly close.
“Got you, little darling.”

“Boss, are you really planning to grow old alone?” Zhou Shu chattered as she followed Mu Xue.
“I just saw a few handsome Alphas whose eyes were glued to you. Don’t you have any interest at all?”
Bai Jing, who was two steps behind them, remained silent but stood ramrod straight.
Mu Xue, however, seemed to be pondering something and didn’t respond to Zhou Shu.
Finally, she turned to look at Zhou Shu and Bai Jing and hesitated. “I have a question.”
Zhou Shu: “…You didn’t actually fall for an Alpha, did you? That’s terrifying.”
Mu Xue sighed and rubbed her forehead. “No, I saw a… friend just now. She seems to be in a lot of trouble, and I want to ask if she needs my help.”
Zhou Shu: “Then just ask her. Is there any problem in this industry that you can’t solve?”
Mu Xue frowned slightly. “The problem is, she seems to still hate me.”
Zhou Shu: “…I thought you were friends?”
Mu Xue looked conflicted. “We used to be.”
Zhou Shu: “Instead of wondering if you should ask her, I’m more curious about what happened between you two.”
Bai Jing, who had been silent, finally spoke. “It’s up to you, Miss. If you’re truly worried, you should go ask.”
Mu Xue thought for a moment and finally made up her mind.
“Let’s go.”
••••
The Mu family’s private rooms were on the third floor of the castle, but it was no trouble for Mu Xue to find Tang Xiaoyang’s room.
As the three of them approached Tang Xiaoyang’s door, Zhou Shu wrinkled her nose.
“Who’s so inconsiderate? This smell is so strong.”
The other two, one a Beta who couldn’t smell pheromones and the other an Omega whose condition prevented her from smelling them, both turned to look at Zhou Shu.
Just as Mu Xue turned her head, she heard Bai Jing shout, “Miss, watch out!”
Mu Xue instinctively turned back and saw a girl in a long dress stumbling toward her.
“Xiaoyang?”
The girl’s fair face was now flushed bright red, her eyebrows were tightly furrowed, and her beautiful almond-shaped eyes were glistening with tears, making her look like a stubborn little deer.
She collapsed heavily in front of Mu Xue.
Mu Xue quickly reached out to help her, but Tang Xiaoyang’s weight pulled her to the ground.
The girl seemed to have lost her mind from the fever. Her burning hands clutched the woman’s slender wrist tightly.
“Help me.”
Mu Xue saw the two Omegas lunging at them from behind the girl.
Her wrist was burning and painful, yet Mu Xue’s voice was calm and chilling, like the blade of a knife.
“Grab them.”
As soon as she spoke, Bai Jing stepped forward, her movements swift and skillful. She struck both men with her fists and palms.
With a shriek of pain, both Omegas collapsed, unconscious.
Without needing to be told, Zhou Shu quickly put on a pheromone-filtering mask, knelt down, and examined Tang Xiaoyang.
“Tsk, tsk. These two are real animals. This kid was forced into estrus.” Zhou Shu pinched Tang Xiaoyang’s face, turning it this way and that as if examining a piece of pork belly.
Mu Xue slapped her hand away and gently stroked the girl’s reddened cheek. “Can you do anything?”
“Uh, not right away. But this kind of inhaled aphrodisiac doesn’t last very long. As long as she stops inhaling it, the weak state should fade in about two hours. After that, a dose of inhibitors should be fine to stop the estrus.”
In a hazy, fiery daze, Tang Xiaoyang felt a soft coolness caressing her cheek, and she instinctively rubbed against it.
The tall girl curled up in the woman’s arms like a clingy, large dog, nuzzling and rubbing. Mu Xue didn’t mind at all and just gently smoothed the girl’s messy hair.
Boss, can you please not look so okay with her taking advantage of you?
Zhou Shu couldn’t watch any longer. She stepped forward and asked, “Boss, what should we do with these two?”
Mu Xue’s voice was icy. “First, call the police. Then, find the butler and tell him to get a security team to temporarily detain all staff on duty today. Tell them that if they can’t find the accomplices who worked with these two, they’ll all be dismissed from the Mu family.”
The use of the aphrodisiac and the leak of a spare key card all indicated that there was a problem with the Mu family’s internal staff.
Zhou Shu could tell Mu Xue was furious. Not daring to joke around, she quickly asked, “And what about the kid…”
Mu Xue looked down at the unconscious Tang Xiaoyang, her tone softening slightly. “Help me take her to my room to rest. You go gather the evidence and hand it over to the police when they arrive. Also,” she paused, then continued, “find out who these two are and send me their identities.”
“Yes.”
Bai Jing and Zhou Shu helped Mu Xue carry Tang Xiaoyang back to the room and then left together.
“Hey, did you notice?” Zhou Shu said, winking. “Our boss has a special soft spot for this little Alpha.”
Bai Jing didn’t rise to the bait. “Miss is an Omega. Is it okay for her to be with an Alpha in estrus?”
Zhou Shu put her hands behind her head and looked up at the ceiling. “You know about our boss’s illness. She can’t even taste sweet or savory anymore. What kind of problem could she possibly have?”
••••
In a daze, Tang Xiaoyang felt herself being placed on a soft bed, but her body was still burning hot. She impatiently tugged at the neckline of her dress, desperate to free herself from the confinement.
Suddenly, a cool touch gently landed on her forehead, and she finally regained a sliver of clarity from the fiery prison of her mind.
Tang Xiaoyang slowly opened her heavy eyelids, and Mu Xue’s face gradually came into focus.
Four big words popped into her sluggish brain: Embarrassing spectacle.
Tang Xiaoyang thought maybe she should just pretend to be unconscious again.
But it was too late.
Mu Xue leaned closer, her voice low and pleasant. “Feeling better?”
I’m perfectly fine, so don’t come any closer.
Tang Xiaoyang tried to speak, but her throat felt like it was on fire.
Before she could even gesture, Mu Xue had already picked up a glass of water.
“Can I help you drink this?”
What if I say no? I can’t even hold the cup myself.
Tang Xiaoyang resisted the urge to roll her eyes and nodded with difficulty.
The warm water soothed her parched throat, and Tang Xiaoyang comfortably narrowed her eyes, discreetly glancing at Mu Xue.
The woman seemed to be in a good mood. After giving her water, she started using a towel to cool her down.
“I’ve already dealt with those two. Once your fever goes down, an inhibitor shot should be enough.”
Tang Xiaoyang nodded but remained silent.
Although she still felt resentful toward Mu Xue, she trusted that a person of Mu Xue’s character wouldn’t let those two criminals off lightly. Since she had already made a fool of herself, and this was just an accident, she would simply leave tomorrow.
A comfortable silence settled between them until Mu Xue’s phone rang.
The woman stood up and walked to the side to answer it.
“We’ve found the accomplices, and they didn’t even have time to delete the surveillance footage. I’ll go to the police station to give a statement, and that should be enough so the kid won’t need to testify.”
“Okay, thank you for your hard work.”
Tang Xiaoyang gazed at the woman’s slender, straight back, silently clenching the duvet in her hands.
Just then, she smelled a bitter scent, like freshly brewed tea, mixed in with her own pheromones. It wasn’t overpowering, but it was incredibly distinct.
Is that… a pheromone?
Isn’t Mu Xue a Beta?
Oh no…
After finishing the call, Mu Xue turned around and saw the girl on the bed huddled against the headboard.
“What’s wrong?”
“Don’t come any closer!”
What’s wrong with this person? Can’t she even tell she’s in estrus?
Mu Xue, however, thought Tang Xiaoyang was feeling unwell again. She paused for a moment but decided to approach anyway.
As the woman got closer, the bitter scent of her pheromones became even more pronounced. Tang Xiaoyang ground her teeth, biting the tip of her tongue. The sharp pain temporarily drove away the terrifying desire.
Just as Mu Xue reached the bed, the girl on the bed suddenly lunged. Mu Xue’s head spun, and before she knew what was happening, she was pinned firmly beneath the girl.
The girl’s body was burning hot and trembling. Her bright eyes were filled with tears of grievance, which she wiped away carelessly, smudging her makeup and making her look like a pitiful little calico cat.
“Do you think it’s fun to play with me?”
The little calico cat gritted her teeth, while Mu Xue wore an innocent expression.
The older woman, inexplicably yelled at, explained timidly, “I didn’t.”
“You didn’t?” Tang Xiaoyang was so angry she laughed. “Do you even know you’re in estrus?”
“In estrus?” Mu Xue’s mind reeled. She had felt some back pain, weak legs, and a hot flash, and she had thought she was just feverish from lack of rest.
She never would have imagined it was estrus. After all, she had never experienced one since she first differentiated.
Seeing the woman’s surprised expression, Tang Xiaoyang lost the energy to be angry, but felt even more wronged.
What had she ever done wrong? To be harassed, slandered, cyberbullied, and almost assaulted.
And this hateful Mu Xue was teasing her… just because she knew Tang Xiaoyang wouldn’t dare do anything.
“Where are the inhibitors!” the cat-faced girl snarled, holding back her tears.
She really wouldn’t dare do anything.
The woman’s gaze fell on the nightstand. Tang Xiaoyang followed her line of sight, where a row of newly packaged inhibitors stood.
They were the latest injectable inhibitors, effective for both Alphas and Omegas in estrus.
Tang Xiaoyang grabbed two and, without hesitation, jabbed one into the gland on the back of her own neck.
After a slight sting, her previously burning gland quickly calmed down.
Tang Xiaoyang let out a breath and held the other one, looking at the woman beneath her. Her tone was still cold.
“Do you know how to inject yourself?”
This was a blind spot in Mu Xue’s knowledge.
The woman had lost her usual poise. She looked at the syringe in Tang Xiaoyang’s hand with some confusion, blinked a few times, and said tentatively, “I think so?”
Tang Xiaoyang: “…I’ll help you.”
The girl’s tone left no room for doubt. The woman didn’t object and obediently sat up, turning her back to Tang Xiaoyang and pulling down her loose sweater to reveal the red gland on her shoulder and neck.
The tall woman, due to her slender frame and frail body, was a small bundle when sitting down. She was completely defenseless with her back to Tang Xiaoyang. On that small patch of jade-like skin, the reddish gland was especially prominent, constantly releasing the tea-scented pheromones that both repelled and drove a person mad.
Tang Xiaoyang’s heart was pounding like a frenzied deer on stimulants, but she had to steady her trembling hand and gently place it on Mu Xue’s shoulder.
The silver needle slowly pierced the woman’s delicate skin. Mu Xue’s breathing became slightly erratic, but she didn’t move. Tang Xiaoyang’s eyes grew hot as she tried to pull out the needle as gently as possible.
“All done.” Only then did Tang Xiaoyang truly relax.
“Ugh…” The woman with her back to her suddenly cried out in pain, clutching her gland and collapsing onto the bed.
The Omega pheromones erupted from the woman’s frail body like a bursting bomb, quickly overwhelming the Alpha pheromones in the room.
For Mu Xue, the patient with delayed differentiation, her estrus, which had been 12 years late, was truly beginning.
