- The Woman I Was Flirting With Turned Out To Be A Chaebol Heiress
- Chapter 3 - Entering the Inner Chamber
Li Nianyi had never thought of herself as a reckless person at least, the old her wouldn’t have done something as outrageous as kissing a stranger she’d known for less than a day.
Correction: it was a forced kiss.
What was that even?
Was she turning all her negative emotions into outward aggression and venting them on someone else?
She had taken advantage of a pure and unsuspecting woman, seized that moment of defenselessness, and stole the sweet breath from her lips and mouth.
She was truly awful.
If this beautiful woman wasn’t comfortable with same-s3x intimacy and ended up traumatized, then she’d be guilty beyond redemption.
Of course, even if Jiang Ji was also a lesbian, that still wouldn’t excuse her actions.
Li Nianyi sighed at the thought, fully realizing how despicable she’d been. But she didn’t feel even a hint of remorse. Instead, while Jiang Ji remained frozen in shock, she cupped the woman’s face and mischievously bit her lower lip not too hard, but enough to leave a sting.
It was only when a slight pain bloomed on her lip that Jiang Ji snapped back to reality and shoved Li Nianyi away.
“What are you doing?!”
Jiang Ji’s eyes widened, utterly stunned.
Li Nianyi said nothing. Her gaze fell on the evidence of her wrongdoing Jiang Ji’s slightly swollen lips.
To be honest, she was a bit slow to catch on herself. This wasn’t an excuse; she genuinely didn’t know what came over her. Especially when Jiang Ji, with that cold, abstinent face and those lake-like eyes, looked at her and seriously, firmly said: “You can.”
It had felt, in that moment, like she was someone important to her.
Her rationality lost the battle, and before she knew it, she’d kissed Jiang Ji like a maniac—and had thoroughly indulged in it.
Noticing Li Nianyi’s gaze, Jiang Ji instinctively covered her lips.
“You’re still looking!”
Her voice, usually cool and composed, was now laced with panic, her usually stern features now flushed with warmth making her look even more captivating.
Seems like she’s definitely been disliked now.
A surge of reckless abandon bubbled up in Li Nianyi. Since she’d already messed up and was hated anyway, why not be all out despicable? She curled her lips into a smile, like one of those delightful villains in Western horror films, and spoke with a teasing lilt:
“Eh?”
The trailing tone was seductive, laced with mockery.
“Didn’t you say you were taking me home? I thought maybe you wanted me to do that.”
“You knew I didn’t mean it that way.”
“Oh, really? That’s a shame. I quite like you, you know.”
“Li Nianyi, is this how you treat everyone?”
Of course not. Li Nianyi was a master at keeping up appearances. She always knew what kind of behavior would help her survive better in this society. It was just tonight, after that drink clouded her judgment, that she did something stupid.
Blame that damn drink.
A smooth bit of blame-shifting allowed her to quickly forgive herself.
“What do you think?”
Li Nianyi leaned in, startling Jiang Ji enough to leap up from the chair and stumble back several steps.
Amusing. How did she manage to scare this poor girl so much? She was probably going to give her a trauma at this rate.
“So curious about me, are you, Boss Jiang?”
Li Nianyi paused, then put on an exaggeratedly regretful tone so dramatic even she cringed inside.
“You were calling me Nian Nian just now, and now you’re using my full name? So cold and heartless.”
Jiang Ji had probably never met someone like this in all her years completely flipping the situation on its head. She stood frozen, eyes wide, utterly speechless.
“Alright, I’ll stop teasing you. Kissing you just now was my fault, I apologize. How about this I’ll become a regular here, help bring in business, okay? Just forgive me, Boss Jiang.”
Assuming, of course, she could even find a new job.
With that, Li Nianyi slung her canvas bag over her shoulder and headed for the door.
Seeing her leave, Jiang Ji actually looked a little flustered. “You’re going?”
“It’s late, I should go home. What, do you really want me to go to your place? Already forgot the lesson just now?”
She shook her slightly dizzy head. Looks like she’d have to splurge on a cab again tonight. Pushing open the glass door, the warm summer night breeze sobered her up a bit. She hadn’t gone far when a voice called out:
“Nian Nian!”
It was Jiang Ji.
She quickly walked over and tugged on the hem of Li Nianyi’s shirt. The gentle pull made her stop.
“I mean it, Nian Nian. Come home with me.”
Realizing how that sounded, Jiang Ji rushed to clarify: “I didn’t mean anything else. It’s hard to get a cab around here at night, and your place is far… mine’s nearby, really convenient…”
Honestly, she should’ve just kept quiet. The more she explained, the weirder it sounded.
Li Nianyi reached out and pressed a finger to Jiang Ji’s lips. Technically, this wasn’t proper behavior either—but compared to what she did earlier, it felt almost tame.
“Alright, no need to explain. I’ll go with you, okay? But you better not regret it.”
Li Nianyi, what the hell are you saying?!
She screamed in her mind, but outwardly she looked calm oddly accepting Jiang Ji’s offer like she was under some spell.
Truth was, she really didn’t want to return to that apartment where someone had died.
Standing this close, Jiang Ji could clearly see Li Nianyi’s thick lashes fluttering and those sly, fox like eyes gazing at her like the center of a vortex, ready to swallow her whole.
“Mhm. No regrets.”
To Jiang Ji, this was her way of making amends.
So, with no clear labels or status, Li Nianyi followed Jiang Ji home. She had mentioned her place was nearby, but she hadn’t said it was a luxury penthouse in Tokyo’s richest neighborhood. This multi million dollar property even if rented wasn’t cheap.
Li Nianyi gave her a sidelong glance, seriously considering the idea of seducing this woman into becoming her sugar mommy.
At the door, Jiang Ji handed her a pair of cotton slippers. She lived alone and didn’t have extras these were the only ones she could offer.
“Do you drink milk? I’ll heat a glass for you.”
Li Nianyi nodded.
While Jiang Ji busied herself, Li Nianyi walked to the huge floor-to-ceiling window. She had been in Tokyo for two months, and had never seen the city like this so dazzling, so opulent, it made her realize just how small she really was.
Money really could buy everything.
Jiang Ji returned with a glass of warm milk, interrupting her thoughts.
“So, uh… after you shower, you can wear some of my clothes for the night. I don’t have spare pajamas.”
Her ears were bright red, and the image her words conjured made it even worse. Before Li Nianyi could respond, she was already pushing her toward a bedroom.
“You can sleep here tonight. There’s a bathroom inside. I’ll go get you something to wear.”
And with that, she fled the scene.
Li Nianyi chuckled. Clearly, this woman was still afraid she’d do something outrageous.
Such a contradiction so afraid, yet still invited the wolf in.
Lying on a soft, unfamiliar bed, Li Nianyi couldn’t help thinking how surreal her life had become. She’d witnessed her senior fall to her death, lost all her jobs in one go, and now the random woman she flirted with turned out to be a secret millionaire living in Tokyo’s high-end Minato ward…
Was the NPC finally getting a main character’s storyline?
Unconsciously, her thoughts drifted back to that kiss.
She wasn’t some naive girl. She’d had her share of adult experiences. Even during the kiss, she hadn’t felt especially nervous. But now, recalling it her heart actually beat a little faster.
Every little detail began to replay in her mind, Jiang Ji’s clumsy reaction only adding to the lingering sweetness.
Suddenly, a knock.
“Come in.”
Jiang Ji entered, holding a black silk shirt.
“It’s clean and comfy should work as a makeshift nightshirt.”
Li Nianyi sank deeper into the plush mattress, her limbs too heavy to move. She reached out and tugged on the shirt accidentally pulling its owner down with it.
“Mm!”
Someone gasped from the unexpected impact. Jiang Ji’s breath was warm against her neck, making her skin feel even hotter.
God as her witness, this time she really hadn’t meant to.
“Hiss Boss Jiang, I barely pulled! Were you trying to take advantage of the moment?”
Li Nianyi beat her to the punch, tossing the blame at Jiang Ji.
“I was not!”
Jiang Ji pushed herself up, one hand braced near Li Nianyi’s head, hovering in a classic kabedon pose not much distance between them at all. Instinct
