The Young Master's Stand-in Little White Rabbit Ran Away - Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Difficulty
Hearing the mechanical “Welcome home” from the digital lock outside, Shen Nian quickly put down his toast, scared and ready to hide in the upstairs room. But remembering Qi Jinnan’s instructions before leaving for work, his feet in fluffy slippers seemed frozen in place.
Soon, a young man wearing a white shirt and khaki trench coat appeared at the entrance. He was fair and handsome, with a slender figure, especially his round eyes. Except for the amber color of his pupils, they were highly similar to Shen Nian’s black eyes, with a cool and dignified aura.
This was the piano teacher Shen Nian feared most – Wen Yu.
After changing into slippers, Wen Yu smiled and greeted Shen Nian from afar, “Good morning, Nian Nian…”
Shen Nian didn’t know why his attitude had suddenly improved. He hurriedly went forward, offering the untouched mushroom chicken porridge from the table to Wen Yu, carefully trying to please him, “Has teacher eaten breakfast? You shouldn’t be hungry…”
As soon as he finished speaking, the bowl of porridge was directly poured onto Shen Nian.
The scalding porridge burned Shen Nian’s porcelain-white skin, causing him to let out a sharp cry. Tears flowed freely down his face.
“Heh, truly an idiot.” Wen Yu chuckled, then leisurely walked to the sofa, placing the piano score on the coffee table. He crossed his legs and looked at Shen Nian with disdain, “How dare such a fool compete with me? You never learn, brainless thing.”
Shen Nian stomped his foot from the scalding pain, accidentally stepping on a broken piece of porcelain. His skin was instantly cut, blood gushing from his heel, staining the floor red. “It’s hot, it’s hot… Nian Nian hurts…”
Just seeing the beautiful young man before him made Wen Yu’s anger hard to quell. Initially, Qi Jinnan had thought highly of him, always praising his piano skills, saying he could win international awards if he kept it up.
He was naturally elated, after all, Qi Jinnan was young and handsome, very decisive and efficient in his actions. Moreover, he came from a wealthy family, with companies both domestically and internationally renowned. Being praised by such a person was like having a badge of honor.
But who knew, later Qi Jinnan rarely came to watch his piano performances. When he appeared again, it was only to have him teach this stupid rabbit beastman to learn the piano.
When his industry colleagues learned of this news, they all came to mock him for losing to a beastman, and a mentally deficient one at that.
Therefore, every time the young man didn’t learn well, he would deliberately use thin embroidery needles to prick the young man’s skin, as only this way it wouldn’t be discovered.
He was already in a bad mood today, especially after Qi Jinnan once again urged him to teach Shen Nian well. Now seeing Shen Nian eating breakfast so complacently simply hit his sore spot.
Shen Nian was about to go to the bathroom to rinse the scalded area with cold water, but Wen Yu directly blocked his way, “Where are you going? Today’s piano lesson hasn’t even started yet.”
Shen Nian anxiously clutched the stair railing, pleading in a soft tone, “I… I need to rinse with cold water, my body hurts, it’s like it’s on fire.”
Wen Yu directly pushed Shen Nian, “Not allowed. If you go, I won’t teach piano today. Think about how you want to choose?”
Shen Nian’s tears kept falling from the pain, Qi Jinnan’s words echoing in his mind, “Your one statement of not wanting to learn disappoints me greatly.”
Finally, Shen Nian could only pout, drooping his little rabbit ears and obediently saying, “I… I’ll learn piano…”
Wen Yu’s face showed a victor’s smile as he picked up his briefcase from the table and led Shen Nian into the piano room.
At five in the afternoon, the piano lesson finally ended.
Before leaving, Wen Yu suddenly stopped and said to Shen Nian behind him, “You can’t tell Mr. Qi about today’s events, understand?”
Shen Nian bit his lip, only daring to nod with tears in his eyes.
Wen Yu smiled, “Smart of you.”
After seeing off this formidable presence that was Wen Yu, Shen Nian finally dared to clutch the wounds on his arm where he had been pricked. Blood had almost soaked through his white long-sleeved shirt, and his arm was stinging with pain. Without much thought, he prepared to go upstairs for a shower.
He couldn’t let the sir find out, or the piano teacher would prick him with the longest needle.
After he finished showering and changed his clothes, his nerves relaxed, but his head started to feel dizzy, and his forehead uncontrollably began to burn.
But he didn’t think much of it, figuring the sir would be coming home from work soon. He hurriedly ran to the kitchen to start cooking.
However, halfway through cooking, he uncontrollably collapsed on the ground. The surroundings seemed to turn upside down, and as his consciousness completely faded, he still regretted not finishing the sir’s dinner…
…
“Shen Nian! Shen Nian!”
Shen Nian opened his eyes upon hearing the familiar voice, and seeing the worried expression on Qi Jinnan’s face, he said apologetically, “I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t finish cooking.”
Qi Jinnan didn’t answer but sighed in relief, lifting him from the ground. Shen Nian’s whole body was burning with fever, his skin scorching hot, and his little face as pale as paper.
He gently brushed away the stray hair on Shen Nian’s forehead, then felt it with the back of his hand, before picking up his phone to call his private doctor.
“Yes, come quickly. His condition isn’t good,” Qi Jinnan said seriously.
“Sir…” Shen Nian tried to sit up, but the wound on his abdomen made him wince in pain, tears instantly falling. He looked at the person in front of him, still seeming a bit disoriented.
Qi Jinnan used a thermometer to check his forehead, which immediately reported Shen Nian’s temperature: as 40 degrees Celsius.
“Lie down for now. The doctor will be here soon.” Qi Jinnan covered Shen Nian with a nearby blanket.
Shen Nian was stunned, watching Qi Jinnan personally cover him with a blanket. He smiled happily, his eyes curving, “The sir is covering me with a blanket…”
At this moment, he felt blessed. Books said it was a happy thing to have someone take care of you when you’re sick, and when he was ill, the sir seemed even more approachable than usual, even the gesture of covering him with a blanket was so gentle.
Qi Jinnan just smiled lightly, pinching his face and asking, “Are you satisfied so easily?”
Shen Nian nuzzled his cheek against that large, warm palm, his rabbit ears twitching lightly, “Mm, I’m very happy when sir is by my side.”
Qi Jinnan was momentarily lost in thought, then hastily looked away. He poured a glass of water from the coffee table and handed it to Shen Nian, “You have a fever. Drink some water first.”
Shen Nian hurriedly reached out to take it, but the movement pulled at the wound on his abdomen, causing him to break out in a cold sweat from the pain.
“Stomach hurts?” Qi Jinnan asked.
“I… I… um, my stomach hurts…” Shen Nian didn’t dare to look directly at Qi Jinnan, just nodding blankly, his fingers tugging at the hem of his clothes, only repeating this sentence.
He couldn’t let the sir discover the wound, absolutely not!
Qi Jinnan stared at him suspiciously, then after a moment’s hesitation, immediately lifted his clothes. The abdominal wound was instantly revealed to Qi Jinnan.
The once porcelain-white belly was now covered in red, swollen blisters. Some had even been rubbed raw by the clothing, looking quite horrific overall.
Shen Nian hurriedly tried to cover it with his clothes, but Qi Jinnan’s strength was too great. He could only wait with a red face for the other to question him.
“How did this happen?” Qi Jinnan asked with a stern face.
Shen Nian lightly twitched his rabbit ears, mumbling, “It’s… it’s that…”
