Chapter 13: If You Want a Kiss, I’ll Poke My Eyes Out Right Now. …
Gu Shiying still wasn’t used to Fu Huan holding his hand. The position was too intimate, and it felt strange.
Fu Huan thought he’d hurt him, so he rubbed him even more gently: “Hurt?”
Gu Shiying wrinkled his nose: “A little.”
Fu Huan: “That’s right it hurts. Remember this. You’ll be there for everything.”
He applied the medicine quickly, then naturally released Gu Shiying’s hand.
Gu Shiying stared at the red spot on the back of his hand, feeling as if it were covered in thorns. He casually defended himself, “We were just having barbecue. We didn’t expect it to turn out like this. Who knew someone would suddenly attack someone else?”
Fu Huan said nothing. Someone who even helped find a lost cat couldn’t help a classmate. He couldn’t accuse Gu Shiying of meddling. He simply tossed the disposable iodine swab into the trash can with a little force, and the swab nearly bounced out.
Gu Shiying hesitated for a moment and said, “Thank you, though. You helped me again today.”
Fu Huan nodded. “Well, then you owe me another meal.”
Gu Shiying: “How about I treat you to dinner tomorrow?” The sooner the better, the sooner this ill-fated relationship ends.
Before Fu Huan could decide, Yang Shuheng’s cries could be heard from inside the room. Yang Shuheng seemed to have recovered somewhat.
Yang Shuheng: “Yingying, do you have any medicinal wine, safflower oil, or anything? It hurts so badly!”
“I think I do. I’ll find it for you.” Gu Shiying turned and went back inside, escaping the stifling atmosphere of standing with Fu Huan.
Fu Huan fished out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it. He stared at the flickering flame, his expression gloomy.
Gu Shiying found some safflower oil for Yang Shuheng, who had been punched several times. However, his right hand was weak, so he didn’t dare to exert force. He had just applied the medicine to his left hand, so the difficult task of applying the medicine was left to Guan Yu, who had been watching the excitement for a while.
Yang Shuheng, once again, couldn’t keep secrets, and he told Guan Yu everything that happened tonight.
Now, everyone in the dorm knew that Yang Shuheng might have been tricked by his bandmates.
Guan Yu asked him, shocked, “You only now realize they need your money, not you?”
Yang Shuheng: “But they’re my brothers. Brothers shouldn’t be so calculating. Besides, I don’t think that’s much money for food.”
Guan Yu pressed hard on the spot where he’d been hit: “I really want to hate the rich.”
Gu Shiying wanted to hate the rich too.
No wonder Yang Shuheng chose to study music; it’s a major that ordinary families can’t afford.
Yang Shuheng was not only injured tonight but also traumatized. Everyone chatted with him until 1 a.m., and Gu Shiying was a little exhausted, tears streaming down his face and yawning furiously.
Fu Huan hadn’t slept either, propped up against the pillow, playing with his phone. He saw Gu Shiying, in the bed across from him, trying to sleep but trying to keep Yang Shuheng’s feelings in mind, forcing his eyes open.
“Everyone, go to bed first. We’ll talk tomorrow if we have anything to say.”
Gu Shiying took advantage of the situation and said, “That’s right, Ah Heng. Tomorrow, our entire dorm will support you. Those guys are not your brothers!”
Yang Shuheng was deeply touched. “You’re so kind, Ying’er. Can I sleep with you tonight?”
Fu Huan’s phone dangled against the bed, making a noise loud enough for the others to hear, but no one paid any attention.
Luckily, Gu Shiying wasn’t used to sleeping with others and simply declined, “It’s too hot. No.”
Yang Shuheng said dejectedly, “Okay.”
The next day.
Gu Shiying slept until he woke naturally.
He thought he’d woken early, but when he got up, he realized everyone else was up, and he was the last one to wake up. He checked the time and it was only ten in the morning.
After washing up, he came out and found breakfast on the table. He glanced around, wondering who had bought it.
Yang Shuheng told him, “Eat quickly, I bought it.”
Gu Shiying: “Thank you.”
Gu Shiying, barely awake and still half-awake, offered to transfer the breakfast money to Yang Shuheng, but Yang Shuheng refused to accept it.
Yang Shuheng said, his voice hushed, “Baby, I’m treating you to breakfast, no need to pay.”
Gu Shiying: “Let’s be honest.”
Yang Shuheng knew he wasn’t on the same page as his teammates, so he didn’t say anything, thinking he’d give them gifts once his situation was resolved.
Liang Qi arrived just as Gu Shiying was finishing breakfast.
He usually came to see Fu Huan. Everyone knew him, but they only knew him as a person and didn’t interact much.
As soon as he entered, he dropped a bombshell: “Xiao Hengheng, your situation has gotten out of hand.”
“What do you mean by ‘Xiao Hengheng’? Call me Ah Heng, thank you.” Yang Shuheng immediately looked at the others with a bitter face. “What should I do? They really kicked me out of the band.”
Guan Yu: “Things are unpredictable. They were calling you their brother last week. Why is it so sudden?”
Gu Shiying was prepared, but he hadn’t expected things to unfold so quickly.
“What did I miss?”
Yang Shuheng shared their chat history. After reviewing it, Gu Shiying realized that these people had planned this all along. But why didn’t he detect the other three people’s ill will towards Yang Shuheng when he read their minds? Was it because their ill will towards Yang Shuheng wasn’t high enough when he read their minds?
He said, dejectedly, “The video of our fight yesterday was uploaded online, and the fans in the group started to make a scene. Brother Side then posted a video on TikTok saying he’d kicked me out of the band.”
Gu Shiying sighed inwardly. This really gave Brother Shitou an excuse to kick Yang Shuheng out.
Guan Yu was relatively calm: “Heng, what are you asking for?”
Yang Shuheng was now a bitter man. For the first time in his smooth life, he had been brutally betrayed and schemed against. His so-called brothers had turned against him over a petty profit. However, he still had a clear mind.
Yang Shuheng gritted his teeth: “Of course I have to settle accounts with them. I want them to pay me back for all the money they spent on me and all the money they owe me for performances!”
He could treat his friends to food and fun, but he couldn’t just let it go.
Guan Yu, with the air of a law student, opened his computer. “Then let’s gather evidence. Pull out all your food and drink bills, the number of performances, and the amount you received each time. We’ll also look through your chat logs to see if there’s any clear discussion of how you’ll split the profits with them.”
Gu Shiying: “They see you as a student, uninitiated by society, and are playing tricks on you, thinking you’re easy to bully. So, let’s make a splash and then make a splash.”
Yang Shuheng: “Okay, thank you Ying’er, Lao Guan, and Brother Huan and Brother Liang. Without you, I don’t know what I’d do.”
Liang Qi also put away his usual smile. “It’s not too late to thank you after we’re done with this. Let’s start looking for evidence now.”
The band was a bit well-known in the scene. As far as Yang Shuheng knew, Brother Shitou was already in talks with an agency and was preparing to release an album and enter the entertainment industry. It was clear that the other band members didn’t want to bring Yang Shuheng along.
After this incident, Gu Shiying realized that his mind-reading ability actually only reads a person’s strongest desires at the moment. Otherwise, how could he not hear the malice others harbored toward Yang Shuheng? Perhaps they simply didn’t display it at that moment.
Yang Shuheng was still responsible for finding the evidence himself. Guan Yu would help him organize it and guide him in how to organize it. With this evidence, they could face the current situation.
As for the video of the fight, Gu Shiying saved it before reporting it.
The barbecue restaurant’s surveillance footage wasn’t clear, and faces couldn’t be clearly seen. Gu Shiying, Yang Shuheng, and the others didn’t capture it clearly, but the footage did capture Shitou’s face. It was clear that he had premeditated this idea. Perhaps he had asked the boss for this video, and he must have returned from his previous visit last night.
Unfortunately, Gu Shiying hadn’t been able to tell Yang Shuheng that Shitou was most likely the mastermind behind all this. There was simply no explanation.
The search for evidence wasn’t smooth. Yang Shuheng even switched phones twice, and he even had to look through his phones to check chat history.
His belongings weren’t properly organized, leaving them in a mess, forcing Gu Shiying to join him in the search.
Yang Shuheng’s belongings were stored in two boxes, one for him and one for Gu Shiying.
Gu Shiying opened the boxes, seeing them covered in dust. He sneezed, holding his nose. “You have so much stuff!”
Even though they shared a dorm, she hadn’t noticed how much he had bought: all sorts of music CDs, anime-themed merchandise, unopened blind boxes, clothes, and so on.
Yang Shuheng: “That’s not enough. I sent two boxes home last winter.”
Liang Qi stood aside: “You didn’t send your phone back too, did you?”
Yang Shuheng: “No, I’ll be dead if my mom finds my phone.”
Liang Qi: “What’s in your phone?”
Yang Shuheng: “I can’t tell you.”
At this moment, Gu Shiying fished out a doll, so dirty it was visible, and set it aside. Looking up, he saw a pair of sneakers.
Fu Huan squatted on the other side of the box: “Let’s look together. We’ll be quick.”
“Okay.” Gu Shiying had no reason to refuse. Young Master Yang had bought so many odds and ends.
“Put on the mask.” Fu Huan took off a mask and handed it to Gu Shiying.
Gu Shiying glanced at his dirty hands.
Fu Huan: “Forget it, let me do it.”
His arms were long, so Gu Shiying didn’t even need to lean over. With a single stroke, he hooked the two ropes around Gu Shiying’s ears.
“No…” Gu Shiying tried to dodge but couldn’t.
He thought desperately: Fu Huan’s inner voice is coming back.
[I wonder what lips that have just been soaked in soy milk taste like.]
“…” Gu Shiying jumped back in shock, plopped down on the ground.
He was furious, frustrated, and helpless.
Fu Huan, you’re really getting more and more outrageous!
Fu Huan thought his legs were numb from squatting for so long, so he casually pulled Gu Shiying’s chair over: “Are your limbs uncoordinated? Sit on the chair and flip over.”
Gu Shiying bit his lip: “You’re the one with the uncoordinated limbs.” In reality, he wanted to throw the notebook in Fu Huan’s face.
If his mind hadn’t been so full of thoughts, would he have been so frightened that he sat down on the ground?
He wanted to switch with Liang Qi, but everyone was busy with their own things, so he forced himself to hold back.
Gu Shiying had no choice but to search for his phone faster, not daring to look up at Fu Huan the entire time. The mask on his face seemed to be welded to his face!
Finally, he found his phone.
Fu Huan and Gu Shiying’s hands reached for the phone simultaneously, and inevitably, their hands touched.
He looked up at Fu Huan and quickly released his hand, but he was still a step too late.
[Gu Shiying’s eyes were like stars, wanting a kiss.]
Gu Shiying: “…”
I’ll poke my eyes out right now.
