Chapter 2: Me? How could I possibly like this clueless idiot…
Though he thought Fu Huan’s words were nothing, Gu Shiying couldn’t concentrate on the class all afternoon and was distracted several times.
Why would Fu Huan even think that?
What on earth would make him think that?
Tied to the bed, preventing him from liking others? That’s too weird. Would anyone in their right mind think that?
Gu Shiying spent the entire afternoon trying to calm himself, repeatedly telling himself he must have misheard!
“Ying’er, why are you daydreaming? Class’s over, aren’t you leaving?”
Zhang Zhi patted Gu Shiying’s shoulder.
“No problem, we’ll be leaving.”
The elevator was packed at this hour, so they took the stairs.
They chatted as they walked.
“What are your plans for this weekend? Working part-time or staying at school?”
“Not working part-time this week.”
“How about going out with me? I’ll take my friends to see some sights.”
Zhang Zhi’s high school classmate was visiting him for a couple of days and wanted to be his companion this weekend. “It’s too hot. I don’t want to go out,” Gu Shiying said, looking at the stairs. “You guys go have fun.”
If it were any other day, he’d be happy to go out, but ever since he gained the ability to read minds, he’d run into people whenever he went out. Especially at tourist attractions on weekends, when they’re packed. He didn’t want his head filled with other people’s strange thoughts and thoughts, driving him crazy.
Zhang Zhi: “I’ll bring you something delicious when I come back.”
Gu Shiying was about to say something when he saw a boy squeeze up from the crowd descending the stairs. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, his thin face revealing a stubbled chin, his eyes drooping.
Normally, Gu Shiying wouldn’t pay any attention to the students heading upstairs in the opposite direction, but as they crossed paths, the boy accidentally bumped into his arm.
[I’m going to stab that cheating woman to death. One stab isn’t enough. I’m going to stab her three times, ten times, fifty times. I want her to bleed to death! Gu Shiying’s mind was flooded with this bl00d-curdling thought, nearly causing his heart to stop.
Is this what the boy was thinking right now? How terrifying!
Gu Shiying quickly turned to look at the boy upstairs, only to see the shape of a knife handle bulging from the sleeve of his loose sweatshirt.
Could it be true?
He had overheard many of his classmates’ thoughts over the past month, and even if they harbored darker thoughts, none had yet reached the point of murder.
Zhang Zhi saw Gu Shiying suddenly stop and stand still: “What’s wrong? You’ll get hit if you stay like this.”
Gu Shiying turned and looked up: “Go back to the dorm first. I left my phone in the classroom. I’ll go get it.”
He was worried. If this classmate really did kill someone with a knife, he could at least serve as a warning. Not knowing was one thing, knowing was another. He couldn’t pretend he didn’t hear, nor could he ignore it. If nothing happened, it would be fine, but if something did happen, a life would be at stake.
Zhang Zhixin believed it and was about to say something when he saw Gu Shiying walking in the opposite direction.
“So fast?”
Gu Shiying was indeed running quite fast, but he was going the other way, and not everyone would consciously keep to the right. There were people blocking his way, and he almost lost him.
The boy seemed tireless, climbing up the stairs.
Gu Shiying had already reached three floors when he came down, and now, chasing him up, he had reached at least five.
All this time, he could still hear the voices of some students, his mind racing.
The other person turned onto the eleventh floor.
Gu Shiying breathed a sigh of relief and stopped there.
But as he stood there, classrooms surrounded him, and he had no idea whether the boy had gone left or right.
He started from the right, trying not to get into trouble.
The classrooms were separated from the corridor by glass, allowing for a clear view of what was going on inside.
As he searched classroom after classroom, he didn’t notice anyone in one of them noticing him.
Fu Huan put down his pen and stared intently at the figure moving outside the window.
His friend Liang Qi asked, “What are you looking at?”
Fu Huan shook his head, “Nothing.”
Liang Qi nudged his arm, “What are your plans for tonight?” Fu Huan glanced at his hand, and Liang Qi raised his hand apologetically, “Sorry, I’ll be more careful next time.”
Just then, Fu Huan caught sight of Gu Shiying walking back from the other side of the building. He didn’t look away, but stood up and headed outside.
Liang Qi: “Hey, where are you going?”
Unable to contain his curiosity, he excitedly jumped up and chased after him.
Gu Shiying hadn’t found the boy in the classroom on the right, so he must have gone to the left.
He was already moving fast enough; he hoped nothing serious would happen before he caught up.
As he was praying, Gu Shiying heard a scream!
In classroom 1102.
The classroom door was open. Only three girls remained, all terrified. One of them ran out without even asking for her phone, bumping into Gu Shiying, who was standing at the door.
The boy who had been wearing the hoodie revealed his fierce expression. He pointed a fruit knife at a girl with long hair.
“You stinky woman! You spent all my money, and now you want to kick me out? I’m telling you, it’s not that easy. Today it’s either you or me!”
The thing Gu Shiying least wanted to see finally happened.
The girl with the fruit knife pointed at her: “You, what do you want? When did I spend all your money?”
The boy: “I took you to expensive restaurants and bought you expensive designer clothes. Didn’t you spend my money?”
The girl tried to argue, but her voice trembled as she watched the fruit knife approach her nose.
Girl: “You forced it on me. I didn’t ask for it…”
Boy: “You keep posting pictures of designer bags and skincare products on your social media accounts. Aren’t you hinting at me?”
Girl: “…”
At this moment, the boy, in his fury, was unaware that someone was quietly approaching him from behind.
Gu Shiying quietly winked at the girl, silently asking her to divert the boy’s attention.
The girl, in her panic, couldn’t completely calm down. Any response would only further infuriate the boy. She was still sitting in the middle seat and couldn’t retreat. Her eyes were fixed on Gu Shiying, who was getting closer and closer to the boy.
The boy got even angrier when he didn’t hear the girl’s response: “Speak up! Du Xinxin, why are you breaking up with me?”
Girl: “I-we’re not compatible. If you think I spent your money, I can return all the gifts you gave me, even in cash. You-put down the knife.”
The boy’s hand, holding the fruit knife, trembled: “Do you look down on me? You just want to be with rich men!”
The girl explained, glancing at Gu Shiying, who was getting closer and closer to the boy: “You misunderstood. I didn’t think that, I really didn’t. My family isn’t short of money, and neither am I.”
The boy was very sensitive. He realized the girl wasn’t looking at him when she spoke. He turned his head sharply, and still spotted Gu Shiying!
“Who the hell are you? Get away! If you come any closer, I’ll be rude! Oh, I get it, you’re that rich gigolo she likes!”
Gu Shiying felt a little wronged: “It’s a misunderstanding. I’m not a gigolo, and I don’t have any money. Classmate, put the knife down. This is too dangerous. Can’t we talk things over?”
He was thinking about how to get the boy’s knife away. At the same time, the girl began to move away from her seat as the boy’s attention shifted to Gu Shiying. However, the chair was tilting up and down, and her movement made a noise. The boy noticed her, turned his head to look at her, and in a fit of rage, stabbed her in the chest with the knife.
The girl screamed again in fear, “Ah!”
Gu Shiying was standing nearby, only two meters away. Without further ado, he quickly pounced on the boy’s back and pinned him to the table.
The girl fell back in fear, the knife narrowly missing her heart. When she opened her eyes, she saw the brave and handsome boy pinning her boyfriend to the table, one hand still holding the knife.
Gu Shiying shouted at her, “Run!”
Although the girl was panicked, she still had some surviving instinct. She stumbled from her seat and ran outside.
The boy struggled with all his might as Gu Shiying pinned him down. Gu Shiying could barely hold him down, and he was also trying to avoid slashing himself with the knife.
Gu Shiying gritted his teeth, barely able to control himself. He truly regretted not exercising more often.
“Damn it! Stay out of my business!”
Strength was limited. The boy’s hands were rough, likely from all the hard work he’d done. Gu Shiying could only hold on for a moment. The man’s knife-wielding hand swung back, and Gu Shiying was thrown away. He even felt the burning sting of the knife on his arm.
Gu Shiying quickly retreated a few steps, trying to distance himself from the increasingly frantic maniac, but the boy, blinded by hatred, gripped the knife even tighter, ready to stab Gu Shiying.
Gu Shiying thought he was definitely going to die here today…
He raised his hands to block the knife, but instead of landing as expected, there was a loud thud and the boy’s screams.
Then, Gu Shiying heard the crack of a broken bone.
“Ahhhhhhhh!”
It sounded even more painful than the scratch on his arm.
Gu Shiying lowered his hand, obstructing his view, and saw who had broken the boy’s knife-holding hand. He saw the boy being pinned to the ground and rubbed.
Gu Shiying’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Fu Huan?”
Fu Huan snatched the knife from the boy’s hand and stomped his black sneaker down on the boy’s cheek. If there was mud underneath, the boy’s face would have been buried in it. His eyes were filled with rage.
“Ahhhhhhhh!”
Liang Qi, following Fu Huan, said, “Holy crap!”
Fu Huan drooped his eyelids, his fierce gleam gone. He said to Liang Qi, “I’m calling the police. Liang Qi, hold him down. There’s surveillance in the classroom, and we can provide it to the police.”
Liang Qi understood what he said. “Okay, I’ll keep an eye on this bastard.”
He switched places with Fu Huan.
Gu Shiying’s heart finally relaxed, and only then did he feel the pain in his arm begin to ache.
The bright red bl00d on his arm made him frown. Fu Huan looked at Gu Shiying and said, “Let’s go to the hospital.”
Gu Shiying nodded, naturally not refusing.
Fu Huan was more anxious than he had imagined. He placed his hand directly on his arm, and then Gu Shiying froze.
It wasn’t his injured hand that was being touched, but Fu Huan’s heartfelt words that reached his head.
[I want that idiot buried with Gu Shiying.]
[How could I possibly like this clueless idiot?]
[This guy is so stupid!]
Gu Shiying quietly raised his eyes to Fu Huan, whose face had regained its cool and indifferent expression: “…” Are you talking about me?
