Chapter 24: Pervert. I want to sleep with Gu Shiying, too.
Gu Shiying broke free from Fu Huan’s embrace. He dared not speak out his anger at Fu Huan, mentally cursing him repeatedly, yet still thanking him.
“Who knew the light here was broken? It’s not my fault. The dorm manager didn’t even send someone to fix it.” If it had been fixed, would Fu Pervert have grabbed him by the waist?
“Tell the dorm manager to fix it tomorrow.” Fu Huan had already retreated to a safe distance from Gu Shiying.
“Yeah, yeah.”
“Gu Shiying ran upstairs like he was escaping.”
Fu Huan chased after him, saying, “Why are you running? Slow down.”
“Go back to your poop!” Disgusting!
Gu Shiying rolled his eyes. If he didn’t run, was he going to have to be stared at and fantasized about again? What a pervert!
He rushed back to the dormitory, almost bumping into Yang Shuheng, who was standing at the door.
Yang Shuheng took a step back, seeing him panting, and asked, “Are you being chased by a ghost?”
Gu Shiying thought to herself that if Fu Huan was a ghost, then he must be a pervert.
Gu Shiying: “The lights on the third floor are broken.”
“You’re afraid of the dark?” Yang Shuheng asked, as if he had seen something new. “Oh my god, you’re afraid of ghosts?”
Gu Shiying’s heart trembled, and she said stubbornly, “No, I’m not afraid of ghosts.”
Fu Huan then strolled into the dormitory with a leisurely demeanor, looking completely different from Gu Shiying. It didn’t seem like they had come back together.
Yang Shuheng hadn’t connected the two of them at all: “Huh? What a coincidence! How did you two come back one after the other? Brother Huan, Ying’er is afraid of ghosts, hahaha!”
Fu Huan’s gaze fell on his face: “Afraid of ghosts?”
Gu Shiying’s behavior could easily be interpreted as running away: “How could that be? I just ran back to poop. I couldn’t hold it anymore.”
He put the chili sauce on the table. Whether he wanted to go to the bathroom or not, he had to go!
Fu Huan didn’t explain to Yang Shuheng why they came back one after the other, and Yang Shuheng didn’t care.
When Gu Shiying emerged from the bathroom, he was about to explain, but the opportunity had been missed. What was supposed to be a worthwhile conversation had become a secret between them.
Next time, they must tell others where they went.
Saturday was busy, and Sunday was equally busy. They still had one last task for their group project. One of the female classmates suddenly realized that their video was missing a narration. The four of them agreed that Gu Shiying’s Mandarin was the most standard, and his voice sounded just like “a handsome guy.”
Gu Shiying worked hard all day, finally implementing the narration his team members had suggested, and the results were quite good.
Homework done, submitted!
The weekend wasn’t very basic; the classes from Monday to Friday were basic, but still very busy.
Gu Shiying’s major will be in high demand both now and after graduation, so he needs to perfect his skills, or perhaps start his own social media platform in the future.
After their video was uploaded to the platform by the teacher, it garnered a surprising number of likes, shares, and comments, and their work began to take shape.
Gu Shiying didn’t send the video link to Fu Huan, but Fu Huan watched it himself.
In the middle of class, Gu Shiying received a message from Fu Huan.
[Fu Huan: Finished watching the video.]
[Gu Shiying: ?]
[Fu Huan: Your group project.]
[Gu Shiying: And then?]
[Fu Huan: Your narration is quite good. Gu Shiying shuddered at the compliment, which he automatically translated into Fu Huan’s thoughts. Zhang Zhi saw him shiver and asked, “What’s wrong? Are you cold? The air conditioner isn’t on.” Gu Shiying: “Maybe I saw a bad joke and it made me feel cold.” Zhang Zhi: “What’s so bad a joke? Let me hear it.” Gu Shiying made up a random joke about Xiao Ming, which amused the surrounding classmates. Gu Shiying: “Thank you for the compliment.” Fu Huan: “Should I say ‘pleasant to the ears, melodious and flowing, like a heavenly sound?'” Gu Shiying thought of the idiom Fu Huan had used to praise his handsomeness at McDonald’s. There was more to it. Gu Shiying: “Is there anyone who compliments like you?” Fu Huan: “Then teach me. You can compliment people.” Gu Shiying: “When did I learn to compliment people?” Fu Huan: “But you compliment Guoguo so fluently.” Gu Shiying: Want to learn? Fu Huan: Yes, I can take you as my master. Gu Shiying and Zhang Zhi occasionally get carried away when they’re hanging out, and he’s getting a little carried away too. Gu Shiying: Then call me Master first. Fu Huan: Master. Gu Shiying almost choked on his own saliva. No, why is Fu Huan suddenly so flexible? Gu Shiying couldn’t imagine Fu Huan calling him Master with such a cold expression, and he shuddered. How weird! Wait, is Fu Huan kidding me? Are they that familiar? Zhang Zhi: “What’s wrong with you?”
Gu Shiying: “Nothing.”
Zhang Zhi frantically told him, “Didn’t you post a bottle of chili sauce on your Moments? It made me salivate. I really want to eat it.”
Gu Shiying: “Okay, then you go get lunch and I’ll go back to the dorm to get the chili sauce. I’ve tried it and it’s really delicious. It has some fermented black beans in it, so it’s fragrant.”
Zhang Zhi opened his arms and was about to hug him: “Yingbao, I love you so much!”
Gu Shiying pushed him away with both hands: “Don’t hug me.”
Zhang Zhi: “You’ve been so cold lately. You won’t even let me touch you.”
Gu Shiying: “Get lost.”
He glanced down at WeChat. Should he reply or not?
No, he couldn’t. The more he replied, the closer his relationship with Fu Huan seemed to be.
He resisted the urge to reply to Fu Huan.
After class, he went back to the dorm, got the chili sauce, and went to Zhang Zhi’s dorm.
Everyone in 701 was there, waiting to eat the chili sauce Gu Shiying had brought back. Mixing it with rice, you could finish it without any side dishes.
“Damn, it smells so good! It tastes just like my mom’s.”
“Lao Gan Ma would be ashamed of itself.”
“Ying’er, where did you buy it? I want to buy two bottles to stock up on.”
“Yeah, yeah, it smells so good.”
A classmate from the next dorm, also from their class, passed by and smelled the chili sauce at the door.
“What are you eating? It smells so good.”
Zhang Zhi: “Chili sauce, it’s so delicious.”
“Where did you buy it? Send me the link!”
Everyone looked at Gu Shiying.
Gu Shiying said, “An old lady gave it to me. She makes chili sauce and sells it. I’ll ask if they have any left.”
He hadn’t expected the chili sauce to be so popular once he opened it. He’d just started eating, and the whole can was gone.
When Gu Shiying returned, only an empty can remained: “You wolves!”
Zhang Zhi: “But it smells so good.”
Gu Shiying: “I’ll ask if they have any left.”
Zhang Zhi was quick to create a group for the students who needed chili sauce.
The group was called: Quick Link.
To satisfy these wolves, Gu Shiying found a time to call Grandma Lin and ask if she had any left.
It was good that his classmates liked him carrying it, and it would also help Grandma Lin, who was injured, by not having to carry chili sauce around in the scorching heat. It was a good idea.
Grandma Lin: “It’s Xiao Gu. I chopped some more these past couple of days, and I still have plenty. How many bottles do you want? I’ll pack them this afternoon and call you back.”
Gu Shiying: “About seven bottles. I’ll pick them up when you’re done.”
Gu Shiying collected payment in the group according to the price Grandma Lin had given him. It was his first time helping someone sell something, and it was quite interesting. Could this be considered another kind of help?
After class that afternoon, Gu Shiying still hadn’t received a call from Grandma Lin, assuming she still needed to chop the chili sauce and hadn’t finished packing it.
Back in the dorm, Fu Huan was spinning his phone between his fingers as effortlessly as a pen.
“Grandma Lin asked me to tell you that the chili sauce is ready. You can pick it up tomorrow.”
Gu Shiying’s eyes widened. “Why did she call you and not me?”
How had Fu Huan found out about this? He was trying to keep it secret.
Fu Huan: “I asked her about Guoguo’s condition today, and she asked me to tell you I’ll take you there tomorrow.”
Gu Shiying, who had been thinking about distancing himself from Fu Huan that morning, said: “…”
Fu Huan added further weight: “It’s more convenient for me to drive there. It’ll take you an hour to take the bus. We can go see Guoguo while we’re there. I consulted a psychologist I know today, and he said he can help Guoguo with free treatment.”
Gu Shiying was hooked: “Really?”
Fu Huan: “Really? I wouldn’t lie to you.”
Gu Shiying smiled even more after hearing this news. Fu Huan was actually a very kind person, and his opinion of her was changing every day.
Gu Shiying: “How did you get to know the psychiatrist?”
Fu Huan: “A friend recommended him.”
Gu Shiying: “So when is the psychiatrist available?”
Fu Huan: “We can schedule an appointment this weekend.”
Gu Shiying clapped his hands happily: “Great! Guoguo’s condition is curable. But how long will his treatment take?”
Fu Huan shook his head: “I’m not sure yet. The doctor told me I’d have to see Guoguo to find out.”
Gu Shiying: “Okay, we can ask for Guoguo’s medical records tomorrow when we go get the chili sauce.”
Fu Huan: “What time do you finish class tomorrow? I’ll come see you.”
Gu Shiying then remembered that tomorrow was Friday: “Three classes tomorrow afternoon.”
Fu Huan negotiated with him: “I also have three. We’re in the same building. I’ll meet you at your classroom door after class.”
Gu Shiying hesitated: “Okay.”
Although it was evidence of a discussion, it seemed as if Fu Huan had completely planned everything, leaving Gu Shiying no chance to refuse. By the time he realized it, it seemed like Fu Huan had booked his weekend again. On Friday afternoon, Zhang Zhi, who always seemed to be full of energy on the weekend, started asking Gu Shiying out.
Zhang Zhi: “Want to go out this weekend?”
Gu Shiying: “I have plans, so I can’t go.”
Zhang Zhi: “What for?”
Gu Shiying thought for a moment: “Volunteering.”
He was about to say he was going with Fu Huan, but he swallowed the words back. He didn’t want to explain to Zhang Zhi; it would just go on and on.
Zhang Zhi: “Aren’t you not doing it this semester?”
Gu Shiying: “There’s an autistic child here, and I want to help. The chili sauce you’re eating is made by his grandmother.”
Zhang Zhi: “Do you need my help? I can help promote your grandmother’s chili sauce.”
Gu Shiying: “Not yet. If we have extra chili sauce, we can promote it together.”
Zhang Zhi didn’t know why Gu Shiying was so keen on doing good deeds, but he supported him.
“Okay, then I’ll go out and have some fun.”
“Go ahead, go on a date with your crush.”
“Don’t mention it.”
“Confess your feelings. You can’t just stop making progress, or she’ll just keep treating you like a friend.”
“I don’t dare. I’m afraid we won’t even be friends after I confess. Ying’er, can you give me some advice?”
“I don’t have any.” He was already embroiled in a legal battle, and he still hadn’t figured out how to break up Fu Huan’s contact.
They both sighed, and the melodious music played.
After three classes, feeling groggy, Gu Shiying waited for Fu Huan to come downstairs to find him, but everyone had left. Ten minutes had passed since they’d finished, and Fu Huan still hadn’t come.
Gu Shiying messaged Fu Huan, but he didn’t reply. He asked Liang Qi, but Liang Qi didn’t reply either.
Unable to find him anywhere, he decided to go look for him himself.
Fu Huan’s last class was on the eleventh floor. As he exited the elevator and prepared to search through the classrooms, he spotted Liu Wenqing standing with him on the balcony.
Liu Wenqing tilted her head, speaking to Fu Huan. Fu Huan had his back to Gu Shiying, so his expression couldn’t be seen, but it was fair to assume he didn’t have any.
Could it be that Liu Wenqing was confessing her feelings to Fu Huan?
Damn.
His brother really didn’t have a girlfriend this time.
As Gu Shiying hesitated whether to interrupt them, Fu Huan, as if sensing something, turned around and saw Gu Shiying standing at the elevator entrance.
He nodded at Liu Wenqing.
Gu Shiying saw him say something like “apology,” but he couldn’t understand what he said next. Then Fu Huan walked towards him.
Fu Huan: “Sorry for the delay. You won’t be angry, will you?”
Gu Shiying: “If I were angry, would I come up to you?”
Fu Huan smiled and whispered, “Well, my master isn’t that stingy.”
Gu Shiying was stunned: “Who is your master?”
Fu Huan: “The master who taught me to praise people.”
Gu Shiying: “Don’t call me that.”
Fu Huan: “Is it because I didn’t bring a gift for becoming a disciple that I can’t call you that?”
Gu Shiying: “No.”
Fu Huan: “That’s right. I’ll hold a banquet for becoming a disciple.”
Gu Shiying: “You’re getting more and more outrageous. By the way, why did Liu Wenqing call you?”
As soon as Liu Wenqing’s name came out, Fu Huan was no longer in the mood to joke with her.
However, he still said truthfully, “Confess to me, you don’t stand a chance.”
Gu Shiying looked at him provocatively. “I remember someone said they’d teach me how to woo girls. I’m quite skilled at it, tsk.”
Fu Huan asked him again, “Are you angry?”
Gu Shiying feigned dejection. “There’s nothing she can do about it. You’re not like me, a universally recognized handsome guy. If the school were still choosing the most handsome man like they did ten years ago, you’d definitely be in that spot.”
Fu Huan suddenly looked at him intently. “If there really was a school hunk, I’d choose you. Do you really want me to teach you how to woo girls?”
Gu Shiying: “Of course, don’t you have experience?”
Fu Huan: “I’m lying. I don’t.”
Gu Shiying was surprised by his sudden honesty. “What good would it do to lie to me?”
Fu Huan: “Just kidding, it’s fun.”
Gu Shiying couldn’t help but kick him. “Get lost.”
Fu Huan rubbed the back of his hand against the tip of his nose and laughed.
Gu Shiying: “What are you laughing at?”
Fu Huan smiled but said nothing. Perhaps because he had gotten to know Fu Huan better, and the two had been through so much together, Gu Shiying felt more at ease chatting with him in the passenger seat again.
A week later, they met Guoguo again.
Fu Huan told Grandma Lin about hiring a psychiatrist for Guoguo. Grandma Lin was so grateful she apologized profusely, even refusing to accept the money for the chili sauce.
Gu Shiying: “Grandma, the psychiatrist and the chili sauce are two different things. Fu Huan found the psychiatrist, and my classmate bought the chili sauce.”
Grandma Lin: “Does Xiao Fu’s family like chili sauce?”
Fu Huan: “Then just give me a bottle. I have a friend who loves it.”
Grandma Lin was also a kind old woman. She accepted help and wanted to give back. Rather than accepting nothing, she preferred to give something she had.
Grandma Lin had already packed the chili sauce that Gu Shiying was going to take home, and he considerately exchanged it for banknotes.
When the two said they would come back tomorrow to take Guoguo to the doctor, Grandma Lin worried they were wasting their time.
Grandma Lin: “If it’s convenient for you, why not take Guoguo with you tonight?”
These two young men were both helping her sell chili sauce and finding a doctor for Guoguo. How could she bear to have them go back and forth again?
Gu Shiying and Fu Huan exchanged a glance.
Gu Shiying: “We’re fine. Will Guoguo find his own bed?”
Grandma Lin glanced at Guoguo, who was sitting obediently beside her. “No, he’s just a little mysophobic and needs a bath before bed.”
Gu Shiying squatted in front of him and poked his little cheek: “Guoguo, can you sleep with your brother tonight?”
Guoguo blinked, showing no resistance, and even glanced at Fu Huan.
They had only come to get chili sauce, but ended up bringing a little kid along.
On the way back, Fu Huan glanced at the empty passenger seat, pursed his lips, and frowned. Then he looked in the rearview mirror and saw Gu Shiying and Guoguo kissing him.
