Chapter 32 Don’t Misunderstand. If only I could undress him myself.
A University has several gymnasiums and swimming pools.
The swimming pools where classes are usually held are close to the dormitories, so students like to go there. At night, they’re packed like sardines.
Gu Shiying chose the swimming pool furthest from the dormitory, where there were fewer people.
This was the first time Gu Shiying had actively sought out Fu Huan since hearing his inner thoughts.
Actually, if he hadn’t heard Fu Huan’s inner thoughts, he wouldn’t have been so averse to contacting him. If you disregarded those thoughts, he was actually a pretty good person.
But for some reason, seeing the video of Fu Huan and Lin Zijing sitting together today, he didn’t seem to have that strong urgency he had before for Fu Huan to find a boyfriend again.
Could it be that, without realizing it, he had already come to see Fu Huan as a friend?
It’s quite normal not to want a friend to be ambiguous with others, isn’t it?
That’s right. Fu Huan had helped him so many times; they had a history of mutual support, and as roommates who saw each other every day, he naturally felt a sense of camaraderie towards Fu Huan.
After thinking it through, Gu Shiying had a completely new explanation for his initiative in asking Fu Huan to teach him swimming.
From now on, he and Fu Huan were friends.
Fu Huan handed Gu Shiying his swimming trunks.
Just as he mentally confirmed that he considered Fu Huan a friend, he noticed the trunks were neatly packaged in a large brand-name paper bag.
Gu Shiying was always straightforward with his friends, not one to mince words: “Was it necessary to wrap it like this? It only cost a few dozen yuan, and it was even on sale.”
Fu Huan realized he had gone a bit too far, but he had a reason to explain.
Fu Huan: “I’m used to wrapping things up.”
Gu Shiying called him out: “You don’t even fold your underwear into a perfect square.”
A blush crept onto Fu Huan’s ears. Gu Shiying knew what he thought of him, but he hadn’t expected a pair of swimming trunks to be treated like this. It wasn’t that it was bad, but rather too good. Was he overly protective of his belongings?
Fu Huan’s ears turned red, but he maintained a cold expression and deliberately changed the subject.
He quickly turned around and took off his shirt and pants.
After the last class, back in his dorm, he took several deep breaths before daring to open Gu Shiying’s wardrobe.
Even though he already harbored feelings for Gu Shiying, he had never touched his personal belongings like a pervert without the other’s permission.
Although his thoughts were like a wild horse, his actual actions were nonexistent.
He simply wanted to pursue Gu Shiying methodically.
“Hurry up and change your clothes,” he said, then went to the shower area to wet himself before heading to the pool, still dripping wet.
Gu Shiying stood in front of the wardrobe door, his eyes full of smiles.
He seemed to have found his weakness.
Was Fu Huan shy?
It turns out Fu Huan is quite amusing. He always thought Fu Huan would remain calm no matter what, given his complex inner world, which he never showed on his face.
Without realizing it, he felt a growing closer to Fu Huan.
Gu Shiying changed into his swimming trunks and went to find Fu Huan.
Fu Huan was already sitting by the pool waiting for him. Gu Shiying warmed up and jumped into the water.
Previously, he had been extremely resistant to swimming, but seeing Fu Huan standing in the pool, all his fear and resistance vanished.
Gu Shiying began to swim meticulously, following Fu Huan’s previous instructions.
Fu Huan stayed by his side the entire time, not waiting on the shore after he had learned, dutifully fulfilling his duty.
After sweating in the pool, their body temperature dropped. After practicing for nearly an hour, the two emerged from the water.
Gu Shiying wasn’t usually very active, and sometimes he would slack off in PE class, unlike today when he diligently swam several laps.
After getting out of the water, his arms felt incredibly sore.
Fu Huan was very restrained today, avoiding any physical contact. Gu Shiying, unaware of his inner thoughts, felt relieved.
Wouldn’t it be better if they just remained friends safely? How comfortable!
During practice, Gu Shiying would sometimes stop to rest, and Fu Huan would stop with him.
Gu Shiying was curious about Fu Huan’s skills: “How many swimming styles do you know?”
Fu Huan: “All of them. Want to see?”
Gu Shiying: “Sure, I only know breaststroke and freestyle.”
Fu Huan: “Okay, which one do you want to see first? I’ll swim a lap.”
Gu Shiying: “Butterfly stroke? Butterfly stroke must be hard to learn, right? And it looks tiring.”
Fu Huan looked at him and said, “Not tiring.”
As he spoke, he stood on the shore and jumped in. His slender figure glided into the water like a fish. In that instant, Gu Shiying thought Fu Huan was really handsome. It wasn’t just pure admiration; there was an inexplicable rush to his heart.
“So handsome.”
Fu Huan swam one lap with breaststroke, then switched to backstroke for another, followed by breaststroke, and finally swam back to Gu Shiying in freestyle.
Splash.
He suddenly stood up in front of Gu Shiying, his handsomeness undiminished even with his swimming cap on.
Fu Huan and Gu Shiying were very close, and water splashed all over Gu Shiying’s face.
Gu Shiying wiped the water from her face: “You did that on purpose.”
Fu Huan laughed: “Yeah, I did it on purpose. What other swimming style do you want to see?”
Gu Shiying thought for a moment: “Dog paddle?”
Fu Huan: “I can’t.” This would damage his image in Gu Shiying’s eyes. “You’ve been swimming for so long, you must be cold. Let’s go back.”
Gu Shiying: “You’re changing the subject.”
Fu Huan laughed and jumped onto the bank: “I really can’t.”
Gu Shiying muttered softly: “I’ll make you swim someday.”
The two emerged from the water.
Gu Shiying was very satisfied with her practice results. He asked Fu Huan, who was still dripping wet, in a good mood, “The cafeteria probably doesn’t have much food left. Want to eat out? My treat.”
Fu Huan nodded, “Okay.”
Just as the two were about to head towards the changing room, a few boys came out.
Gu Shiying was about to walk past them when a voice made him stop.
“Fu Huan, you’re swimming too?”
Gu Shiying looked up and recognized the person.
Wasn’t that Lin Zijing?
Weren’t they in the early stages of a relationship?
Wouldn’t it be awkward if Fu Huan and I were seen together?
Gu Shiying turned to look at Fu Huan, expecting him to look at Lin Zijing, but instead, he met Fu Huan’s gaze.
Fu Huan nodded casually, then pulled Gu Shiying’s arm to stand beside him, making sure he was out of the way of the oncoming people.
“Watch where you’re going.”
Wearing only swimming trunks, Fu Huan’s pull brought Gu Shiying into direct contact.
He thought he’d get through today safely and wouldn’t have to hear Fu Huan’s inner thoughts.
Clearly, he was being naive. How could an unexpected incident occur so soon after they were leaving?
[If only I could undress him myself.]
Gu Shiying didn’t even have time to pay attention to what Lin Zijing was saying to Fu Huan; his head was buzzing.
Dress off what?
Fu Huan, explain to me what you’re going to undress!
His face flushed slightly. He knew exactly what Fu Huan was thinking; he could guess by connecting the dots.
Could they still be friends?
No, Fu Huan had never intended to be friends with him. He was constantly thinking about that other kind of thing.
When Gu Shiying came to his senses, he only heard Lin Zijing tell Fu Huan that they should go swimming together next time.
Gu Shiying went into the shower without saying a word.
He was going out for dinner with Fu Huan later. He regretted it; Fu Huan couldn’t drink any Chinese medicine!
Fu Huan could sense Gu Shiying’s emotional shift before and after emerging from the pool.
In the pool, he was joking with him, but afterwards, he suddenly fell silent, not saying a word.
Fu Huan: “Why are you unhappy?”
Gu Shiying: “I’m not unhappy, just a little tired.”
Seeing his emotions written all over his face, Fu Huan tentatively said, “I won’t go swimming with Lin Zijing.”
Gu Shiying: “What?”
Fu Huan: “I’m just your swimming partner, I won’t go with anyone else, don’t be angry.”
Gu Shiying: “I’m not angry.”
Wait, is this any different from a confession?
Never mind, whether Fu Huan confesses or not is no longer important. Can these words compare to the shock he felt from Gu Shiying’s inner thoughts?
Fu Huan: “But your cheeks are all puffed up, you look like a pufferfish in anger.”
Gu Shiying poked his cheek and glared at him: “You’re the pufferfish! Besides, you can swim with anyone, they’re all your friends.”
Fu Huan explained: “Lin Zijing isn’t.”
Gu Shiying remembered Lin Zijing was gay: “Then he’s a potential romantic interest.”
Fu Huan looked at him seriously: “Even less so. I won’t have anything to do with him, not now, not ever. Gu Shiying, I have someone I like, I won’t like Lin Zijing.”
Gu Shiying’s heart raced a little from his focused and serious expression. He realized he was really tired from swimming today.
“Well, you don’t need to tell me this.”
Fu Huan said, “I can tell you, but don’t misunderstand my relationship with Lin Zijing.”
Gu Shiying: “Oh, then I won’t misunderstand.”
His understanding of Fu Huan deepened further. He was honest and straightforward. Anyone who dated him would be very happy. He wouldn’t let the other person suffer internally; he would get straight to the point, everything was clear and unambiguous. “It’s my treat today, what do you want to eat?” Gu Shiying put Fu Huan’s subtle advances back to his mind.
Fu Huan: “Whatever you want, I’m fine with anything.”
Gu Shiying: “But it’s my treat, so I have to put you first.”
Fu Huan: “Then let’s have Sichuan food.”
Gu Shiying: “…” Isn’t this still according to his taste?
Okay.
The two went into a Sichuan restaurant, and Gu Shiying handed the menu to Fu Huan: “You order.”
Fu Huan ordered two of Gu Shiying’s favorite spicy dishes. Gu Shiying was speechless, then ordered him a non-spicy dish. When ordering at the self-service counter, he specifically noted that he only wanted mildly spicy dishes, so they could both eat them.
For the next few days, Gu Shiying and Fu Huan were inseparable. Fu Huan accompanied him to practice swimming, and Gu Shiying improved rapidly. In just a few days, he could swim several laps on his own. Fu Huan even taught him how to tread water. The only regret was that Gu Shiying never got to see Fu Huan’s doggy paddle.
At this point, he was quite principled. Saturday arrived, and Gu Shiying slept in late. He had just woken up when he received a WeChat friend request from a stranger.
【Hello, my savior, I’m He Zexuan. Can I add you on WeChat?】
Gu Shiying thought for a moment; it was the man he’d saved at the karaoke bar. After a quick consideration, he accepted the friend request.
After a few polite exchanges, He Zexuan offered to treat him to a meal to thank him for saving his life. He was a very good conversationalist; Gu Shiying had never encountered someone so eloquent before. Every compliment was to the point without being offensive.
He Zexuan was probably quite talented.
Gu Shiying figured he had nothing else to do on Saturday besides studying, so he agreed.
The other man even asked if he liked Western food. Gu Shiying said yes; these past few days, after swimming, Fu Huan had taken him to eat out, and it would be nice to try something lighter.
Just as he was leaving, Fu Huan walked into the dormitory from outside.
He frowned slightly as he watched Gu Shiying, dressed neatly, even running his fingers through his hair in front of the mirror, meticulously grooming himself.
He looked at her with a hint of jealousy: “Where are you going?”
Gu Shiying: “Remember the guy we saved at the karaoke bar last time? He invited me to dinner, saying he wanted to thank me.”
Fu Huan: “He invited you to dinner alone?”
Gu Shiying: “Yes, he said he wanted to thank me for saving his life.”
Fu Huan frowned: “Can you not go? You don’t even know him.”
Gu Shiying: “I already agreed, wouldn’t it be bad to back out at the last minute?”
Fu Huan thought for a moment: “Fine, go ahead, be careful.”
Gu Shiying figured he could read minds, so it wouldn’t be a problem.
“I know, I’m off.”
Fu Huan felt a headache coming on at her carefree attitude.
He remembered that among the people in that private room were people from the same social circle he and Liang Qi knew. That person was gay, and Liang Qi had told him that he’d seen him entangled with a man at a banquet.
It was no coincidence that He Zexuan was in their private room; like him, He Zexuan was gay.
After Gu Shiying came downstairs, Fu Huan grabbed his car keys and followed her.
