This Time, I Am A Mob's Potions Teacher Who Has Become Engaged To The Mastermind Of The Otome Game - 5
After the awkward exchange with Noel, I spoke with the headmaster and then made my way to the classroom.
The atmosphere there was also tense. A sharp, uncomfortable divide hung between the noble students and the commoners.
“Everyone, this is sudden, but tomorrow’s classes will all be replaced with Magical Pharmacology.”
“Huh?! Why the hell?!”
Dona stood up in anger. Apparently, he was upset that P.E.—his favorite class—was canceled.
“Well, it’s the season when Gardenia flowers bloom, so I spoke to the headmaster and the others about taking everyone into the forest. I figured you’d all like to go outside for a change, right?”
Gardenia is an herb used in healing potions.
During this season, it blooms in the forest, but it disguises itself as other plants to protect itself. You have to use magic to dispel the mimicry and locate it.
“We’ll be doing experiments by making healing potions with the Gardenia we collect—so be sure to gather a lot!”
Truthfully, it’s not the flower of the Gardenia that’s used in the potion.
It’s during this blooming season that the leaves are rich with magic, making them ideal ingredients for healing potions.
“Alright! Glasses, you actually did something good for once!”
Dona seemed quite pleased with the idea of an outdoor lesson. His mood improved immediately.
The other students also began to buzz with excitement. Their giddy, restless expressions made them look their age—endearing and innocent.
“Since we’ll be moving around the forest tomorrow, I’ve prepared special clothes for you all. Come wearing them, okay?”
“Clothes?”
Everyone blinked in confusion.
With help from a few students, I brought out and handed over the matching gym tracksuits (a.k.a. the classic “imo jersey”) from the prep room.
“What the hell are you trying to pull making us wear this?”
Dona frowned, holding up the uniform and letting it flap.
“I want everyone to work together to find the Gardenia, so I’ve put a special spell of unity into these clothes. They’re enchanted!”
“Why do we even need special clothes? Everyone could just wear something they don’t mind getting dirty.”
“Come on, once in a while it’s fun to match outfits. Opportunities like this don’t come often, right?”
At Oria Magic Academy, there aren’t any uniforms—students usually wear whatever they want.
Naturally, that means differences in social class show through their fashion.
“But still…”
“This outfit’s such a weird shape…”
“Do we really have to wear this?”
It seemed the unusual design made them hesitate. They exchanged looks, faces full of uncertainty.
Amid the murmuring crowd, Alois stood up smoothly.
“I understand. I’m really happy that the teacher went to the trouble of preparing this for us. I’m looking forward to wearing it tomorrow.”
He gave a gentle smile—the kind you’d expect to see in an Alois route CG scene—and even with a tracksuit in his hands, he looked cool.
He’s supposed to be the type who never smiles early on, but whatever. Getting to see his rare smile up close made it all worth it.
Alois holding a gym uniform—definitely not something you’d ever see in the actual game. What a rare scene. That all-nighter paid off.
Got the Ice Prince’s smile!
I wanted to scream with joy, but I held it in.
I kept a ladylike smile plastered on my face and smiled back at him.
“…Fine. I’ll wear it, okay?”
Even Dona seemed unexpectedly willing to go along with the event.
Once those two agreed to wear the outfit, the rest of the class seemed to make up their minds too. Some even started saying things like, “It’ll be like cosplay—could be fun, right?”
Looks like I cleared the first hurdle.
I hope tomorrow’s field trip goes smoothly.
Even if we’ve got a group full of troublemakers, there wasn’t an official “herb gathering” event in the game, so we should be fine… right?
…Wait, did I just set off a flag?
So funny
