This Time, I Am A Mob's Potions Teacher Who Has Become Engaged To The Mastermind Of The Otome Game - 6
“Yaaay! The lake’s so biiig!”
“You’ll fall if you keep running like that.”
As soon as we arrived at Lacrima Lake, Sara started dashing around excitedly, and as usual, Isabelle tried to rein her in.
I watched them with a smile, finding it all rather heartwarming—until Sara tripped spectacularly and fell flat on the ground.
“Honestly! I told you so.”
She sounded irritated, but Isabelle was already kneeling down to check on Sara’s injuries, clearly worried.
Good thing I brought a first-aid kit just in case.
With a class full of troublemakers, I figured someone was bound to get hurt.
Just as I was about to call out to Sara to treat her injury, Dieter quietly stepped in front of her.
With a nervous expression, he knelt down before her.
“I-I’ll heal you.”
“Huh?! Morry, you can use healing magic?!”
Morry?
Wait, is she talking about Dieter?!
For a moment, I was completely distracted by the nickname Sara had given him.
As expected of our socially gifted heroine—she’d already given him a nickname.
“But… healing magic isn’t taught to first-years, is it?”
Isabelle’s eyes widened in surprise.
She was right—healing magic is highly advanced. It’s only taught to students who choose to specialize in Magical Healing during their third year.
“I—I studied it on my own… while I was at home. I wanted to be able to use magic that could help people…”
Dieter’s voice was barely above a whisper as he looked down at the ground.
“Come on, just get on with it already. Lufier’s knee is still bleeding,” Frédéric said.
“R-Right… You’re right.”
Unable to watch any longer, Frédéric gave Dieter a firm slap on the shoulder. From the outside, it looked like Dieter might snap in two—but the boy himself turned to Frédéric with a small, relieved smile.
“Heal—Refectio.”
Dieter held his hand over Sara’s injured leg and spoke the incantation. A gentle light enveloped her.
The scrapes on her knee quickly vanished, healing completely without even a trace of a scar.
“Wow! It doesn’t hurt at all anymore!”
Sara sprang to her feet and grabbed Dieter’s hand tightly.
To the flustered Dieter, she flashed her brightest and most adorable heroine smile.
The other students, who had gathered and been watching the whole thing unfold, burst into cheers and praise.
“Morry, thank you! I can’t believe you can use such amazing magic—you’re a genius!”
“Th-thank you.”
“Geez! Why is Morry the one saying thank you?!”
“S-sorry…”
It seemed like Dieter wasn’t used to being praised—he looked visibly uncomfortable.
“He’s just shy. Holding hands like that’s got him all nervous,” Frédéric chimed in.
“Oh—sorry about that!” Sara replied with a laugh.
With that, Frédéric stepped in to rescue Dieter, guiding him away from the group and into a nearby grove.
◇
“Oh? Where’s Mr. Moria?”
While watching over the students, I noticed that only Frédéric had returned from the forest.
Frédéric glanced toward the woods.
“He’s still in there. Said he’d come back once he calmed down.”
“I see… I’ll go check on him. Take care of everyone for me, okay?”
“Understood.”
I just hoped he wasn’t still upset about what happened earlier.
“Mr. Moria?”
As I approached, I spotted a head of ash-blond hair beneath one of the trees. Dieter was sitting on the ground, knees drawn to his chest.
His face had been buried against them, but he looked up when I called out to him.
“I’m sorry for causing trouble, Sensei.”
“There’s nothing to apologize for. I came because I wanted to talk to you.”
“Um… I might lose control of my magic again, so it’s probably best if you don’t come too close to me.”
“It’s fine. I can use defensive magic, you know.”
Dieter lowered his gaze again as I sat down beside him.
“I don’t really know how to interact with everyone…”
“You don’t need to force it. Just start with simple greetings. Once you’re more comfortable, try asking about what they like or what they’re passionate about. If you do that, talking will come more naturally with time.”
“I’ll try that.”
His smile was faint, but it was there.
“Professor Fabius was right. I’m glad I came back.”
“Oh? What did he say?”
“He told me, ‘Professor Bellecour is someone who will listen to your voice, so don’t be afraid to come back.’”
“I see.”
I was honestly surprised to hear that Noël had mentioned my name when convincing Dieter to come back.
In the game, the Noël I knew probably would’ve used some other reason to persuade him—so maybe the story really is starting to shift.
I just hope this means we’re steering away from a bad ending.
I want to protect these main characters—Dieter, Noël, and all the others—from falling into despair, and help guide them toward happiness instead.
“There you are.”
I turned toward the voice and saw Noël standing there—with Alois beside him.
“Huh? Were you looking for me?”
“You disappeared so suddenly. Of course I got worried.”
Noël looked… sulky, for some reason.
What the heck? It’s not like I was lost or anything.
Besides, Jill and Mika were with the group, so it’s not like Noël had to come looking for me. And he even dragged Alois along!
Because the two of them went out searching, everyone else ended up thinking Dieter and I had gotten lost in the woods—and we became the subject of teasing for quite a while afterward.
Noël, you better believe I won’t forget this.
