To Covet (GL) - Chapter 9
The so-called embrace was more like a mockery, like asking someone, “Do you like candy?” and then, the moment they nod, scooping up a piece of candy covered in dirt and swill from the ground and stuffing it into their mouth.
My heart was beating fast, everything happened in an instant, subconscious thoughts controlled my hand movements, I did what I had been looking forward to in my fantasies, at the cost of not knowing how much strength she could exert under the influence of fear, so I used the weight of my body to press her down firmly, and her breathing gradually turned into painful whimpers.
Yu Zhouwan was destined to feel disgusted and even hate me for this, because I tore off her mask without any room for buffer, leaving her trapped in the shame of her deviant orientation.
“Yu Keyi, what do you mean?”
I let go of Yu Zhouwan, and she immediately jumped off the bed to avoid me, her heels hitting the floor with a dull thud.
Yu Zhouwan was sought after by everyone, and I naturally envied her secretly. However, after knowing her secret and holding her lifeline, that jealousy suddenly became light, and from the moment I saw her naked body—only a part of it—another thing began to rise in the undercurrent.
Yu Zhouwan didn’t run away, she stood by the bed, trying to question me further.
In the blank and tense moments of my thoughts, I remembered some irrelevant things. Since I met Yu Hanyang, I had almost been stripped of everything other than the name “Yu Keyi.” When I lay in the spacious bed, I had long forgotten the sound of leaking water all night in the old residential building. Of course, I hadn’t forgotten the days when Yang Chun lay on the hospital bed counting down her life. Some shadows left over from the past made my guilt towards Yu Zhouwan disappear.
I sat cross-legged.
Yu Zhouwan realized that she had overreacted, and suddenly calmed down: “I had a conflict with Feng Jia, it’s my own business. I really don’t want her to come. Where did you hear that I’m a lesbian?”
Of course I saw it, I pinched the skin on my knuckles.
“Why do you think that?” she asked, “Don’t misunderstand, we’re not a couple.”
She sat back on the bed, the rising tide didn’t cause a tsunami, but receded silently.
“How did you know?”
“Know what?”
“Homosexuality.”
“Oh,” I rubbed the hair covering my eyes, “I saw it in a pop-up pornographic web page ad, do you believe it?”
Yu Zhouwan calmed down, hugged the pillow, and didn’t refute by saying she didn’t believe it.
I remembered Yu Zhouwan saying that night, touching the red mark on her face, “I’m the only person she trusts.” Sometimes I had to admit that inheriting Yu Hanyang’s appearance had its advantages. Our father and daughter could easily win the trust of others with our seemingly harmless appearances, even if there was suspicion of deception and offense.
Yu Zhouwan turned off the light and tried to fall asleep again. I hugged her waist again, clearly feeling her body stiffen instantly. If she were compared to a live fish on a cutting board, the meat cut at this moment would definitely be the toughest and most tasteless kind.
“Do you have to sleep so close to someone in this hot weather?” she didn’t directly chase me away, “If you’re cold, I can turn up the air conditioner.”
Yu Hanyang treasured his daughter very much, and had never explained the details of Yang Chun and me.
Shi Yunya and her daughter only knew that Yu Hanyang had married and had a child in China, divorced early, and finally the woman died of a terminal illness. The woman only had an old and sick mother who could die at any time, so Yu Hanyang had to raise the underage child, that’s all.
Everyone who had a relationship with him had rotted silently, I thought. If Yu Hanyang knew that his pure and angelic daughter Yu Zhouwan was intertwined like a water snake when making love with someone—a woman, what would his attitude be? Would he choke her neck and call her a b1tch? Or would he go crazy in front of her and smash everything in the house?
Thinking of this, I was almost so excited that my temples were throbbing.
Yu Zhouwan curled up stiffly with her back to me. It was impossible to sleep soundly with another person next to her. I got up and stood by the bed, then touched her hand. Before this series of actions was completed, she was fully awake.
“Yu Keyi?” Yu Zhouwan habitually raised her hand to turn on the light, but found that her wrist was pinched and she couldn’t move, “What are you doing?”
The sky was dimly lit, and the numbers on the digital clock jumped.
I let her shake off my hand, and as she propped herself up and instinctively leaned towards the bedside table, I knelt directly on the bed and forced her to a point where she couldn’t retreat.
“Yu Zhouwan, are you afraid of being touched by other women?” I moved the corners of my mouth and squeezed out an ugly expression that was not a smile, “If someone else touches you, will you react?”
She finally realized that the situation could no longer be described as out of control, “I don’t understand…” she shook her hair, “Yu Keyi, are you crazy? Are you dreaming…”
Yu Zhouwan shrank her body blankly with her messy hair, until I put a small copper plate in her palm.
“You’re stalking me?”
Yu Zhouwan straightened up suddenly, but I pressed her back with my arm on her shoulder, refusing to give her a chance to have a face-to-face conversation.
“Shhh…” I put my finger to my lips, “You don’t want me to tell anyone, do you? Then don’t wake them up, okay?”
To control Yu Zhouwan, I had to put all the weight of my upper body on my right forearm, which was pressing her body, and my left hand was propped on the bed. She stared at me with an empty look, breathing heavily. She probably didn’t expect me to be so forceful and rude to her, and several struggles were unsuccessful.
“What stalking? What are you thinking? It’s just a coincidence.” I got closer to her face, and her breathing frequency dropped sharply, only the rise and fall of her chest undisguisedly reflected her nervousness.
Obviously, Yu Zhouwan didn’t believe it.
“What did you see?”
“Do you want me to repeat the whole process?” I didn’t want to answer meaningless questions.
“How long have you been stalking me? Since you came here? Yu Keyi, you…”
People will stop when they are scolded and stopped, but I don’t have a sense of morality, and I never care about other people’s likes and dislikes. Trivial disgust will only make me make mistakes again and again in some things, trampling on other people’s bottom line and self-esteem.
“Don’t guess, I’m not that idle,” I tried to capture a little expression change on her face, “Only Shi Yunya would believe the nonsense you make up every day, Yu Zhouwan, you’re really bad at lying. Learn from it. You and Feng Jia played so big, if someone else sees it, it won’t be as simple as taking a photo.”
Even if the light outside wasn’t strong enough, I could see that Yu Zhouwan’s face and ears were flushed. She turned her head and closed her eyes: “I admit it, I am, so what? So what are you trying to prove?”
“Ah, it’s nothing, just want to inform you, that’s it,” Yu Zhouwan admitted defeat too quickly. I thought she would argue back, but she directly raised the white flag and surrendered. This hole card suddenly lost the shock it should have when it was revealed, “If you want to scold me, remember to think of some new words.”
My malicious provocation didn’t cause any waves. I let go of the restraint, and she didn’t raise her hand to slap me. She was still half-lying on the bed, as if all her strength had been exhausted during the struggle just now.
“Don’t tell anyone.”
“You set a condition. If it’s appropriate, of course I won’t tell anyone. Yu Hanyang is not a good person. Telling anyone won’t do us any good.”
“Yu Keyi, you…”
I suddenly raised my hand to cover her mouth, pushed her body back hard, and covered her tightly with the quilt.
The sound of footsteps went from near to far, and I heard the sound of keys, followed by the heavy sound of the door closing.
Yu Zhouwan was completely pressed down by me, and she pushed me away hard.
“You’re disgusting.” Her voice was trembling, “I thought you…”
“Thought I was an orphan whose mother died? Do you really want to pity me?” I touched my shoulder, which was sore from being pushed, and couldn’t help but click my tongue, “You weigh it, Yu Zhouwan, can you be more disgusting than you messing around with your teacher?”
“Yu Keyi, don’t show the photos to others.” She squeezed out a sentence through her teeth, “We were just… we didn’t actually…” She couldn’t bring herself to say the explicit words, her ears were already beyond blushing.
I tilted my head, the redness on Yu Zhouwan’s face spread to her eyes, turning into a pool of clear water, swaying on the verge of overflowing.
“Yu Zhouwan, you’re really beautiful.” I ignored her shame and resentment, and raised my hand to touch the tear-stained face.
“I want to play with you.”
