To Sink Into You - Chapter 25
“It’s almost morning,” Ming Qian said softly. “How are you feeling? Any better?”
“Much better,” Wen Yuxi replied, her rationality returning. She coughed twice. “Sister, didn’t you sleep all night? You should rest. I’m fine now.”
Ming Qian paused, then asked, “Yuxi, your condition is unique. The hospital can’t treat it. I’ll have Lao Shen pick us up and take us back to the hotel soon.”
Wen Yuxi nodded, already aware of the situation. “Okay.”
After a moment, she suddenly remembered something. “If you have work, you should go ahead. I can have Master pick me up.”
Ming Qian tapped her forehead, her tone a mix of exasperation and affection. “You want me to abandon my wife during her High Fever Period to go to work? What’s going on in that little head of yours?”
Wen Yuxi pressed her lips together, her voice earnest. “I mean it, Sister. Don’t worry. I can handle this.”
She truly felt guilty and anxious, afraid of disrupting Ming Qian’s work and becoming a burden.
“Don’t overthink it,” Ming Qian said gently, her smile warm as sunlight. She ruffled Wen Yuxi’s hair. “Just close your eyes and rest. I’ll stay right here with you.”
Under her soothing words, Wen Yuxi gradually grew drowsy. Her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and she soon drifted into a deep sleep.
When Wen Yuxi opened her eyes again, she was lying on a hotel bed, the chandelier on the ceiling unfamiliar. She immediately sat up, her senses on high alert as she scanned the room. Only when she spotted Ming Qian’s figure did her tense muscles relax.
“Sister, where are we?”
“The room you were staying in wasn’t very comfortable, not ideal for resting,” Ming Qian said, approaching from the suite’s kitchenette with a glass of warm water. “I booked a new room for you. You can stay here until filming wraps up. Is that okay?”
“Yes, of course,” Wen Yuxi replied, accepting the glass. She noticed the familiar bedding beneath her and smiled. “Sister, you’re so thoughtful—you even brought my blankets!”
“I brought your luggage too. It’s on the sofa, untouched. You can unpack when you’re feeling better,” Ming Qian said with a gentle smile. “Zeyya got you a three-day leave from your master. She said you can have more if you need it.”
Wen Yuxi chuckled. “My master is truly generous.”
“Are you hungry? I ordered lunch earlier; it should be here soon,” Ming Qian said.
“Lunch? It’s already noon? Did I sleep that long?” Wen Yuxi asked, surprised.
“The more you sleep, the better,” Ming Qian replied with a smile.
“I’m still groggy,” Wen Yuxi said, setting down the glass and shuffling toward the bathroom in her slippers. “I need to wash up to wake up properly.”
“Be careful. Remember not to use cold water, and call me if you feel unwell.”
“Okay~”
Wen Yuxi emerged from the shower just as lunch arrived. Shortly after eating, her temperature spiked again, her body burning hot, her consciousness blurring, and she even began hallucinating.
The situation was critical, leaving no room for hesitation.
Ming Qian dared not delay any longer. She gently embraced Wen Yuxi, pressed her thin lips against the girl’s porcelain-white nape, and bit down on the delicate gland, slowly injecting her pheromones.
The scents of black coffee and rosemary intertwined, catalyzing an intensely intimate and scorching atmosphere. Their breathing quickened unconsciously. Wen Yuxi wrapped her arms around Ming Qian’s neck, her eyes glazed over. “Ming Qian…”
“I’m here.” With the temporary marking complete, the possessiveness ingrained in Ming Qian’s Alpha genes quietly surfaced. Her arms tightened, locking Wen Yuxi firmly in her embrace, her voice hoarse. “It’s over now.”
Wen Yuxi hummed in dissatisfaction, tilted her head back, and unerringly captured Ming Qian’s lips. Her tongue swept across them, savoring the bitterness of black coffee and the faint, refreshing fruity aroma hidden beneath—a scent only she could detect.
Ming Qian’s chest heaved violently, her dark eyes brimming with suppressed desire. The taut string in her mind snapped completely, and she surrendered to instinct, recklessly indulging in Wen Yuxi’s seductive embrace.
After a busy afternoon in bed, Wen Yuxi’s fever finally broke by evening. Her spirits had returned to normal, her complexion glowing with a healthy flush, and her large eyes shone with vitality like searchlights, her expression utterly content.
“Full health restored!” She clung to Ming Qian like an octopus, giggling as she begged for a kiss. “One more kiss, Sister.”
Ming Qian pecked Wen Yuxi’s slightly swollen lips, stroking her creamy-smooth back with impossible tenderness. “Alright, it’s time for dinner.”
“Just one more time,” Wen Yuxi bargained, her voice laced with coquettishness. “Then we’ll eat.”
Ming Qian’s face clouded with reluctance. “Spare me,” she pleaded helplessly.
Omegas in the High Fever Period were easily unsatisfied. From noon until evening, Wen Yuxi had begged for round after round, and continuing would only harm her body.
“Fine,” Wen Yuxi relented, massaging Ming Qian’s wrist, her cheeks rosy. “Thank you for your hard work, Sister.”
Ming Qian averted her gaze, feeling a little embarrassed. “Are you feeling any discomfort?” she asked with concern.
“None at all. I feel wonderful,” Wen Yuxi replied with a sweet smile, kissing the corner of Ming Qian’s lips. “You’re amazing, Sister.”
Ming Qian flinched back slightly, giving her a reproachful look. “Be serious.”
Wen Yuxi suppressed a laugh. “Okay.”
Aww, my shy sister is so cute.
“Yuxi, there’s something I want to discuss with you.” Ming Qian gazed into Wen Yuxi’s clear eyes. “Do you remember what my mother said last time?”
Wen Yuxi nodded. “About the temporary marking? Yes, I remember.”
Ming Qian continued, “I’ve asked a friend to research an antidote for the aftereffects. I’m not sure if they’ll succeed, but until then, I can only ensure your health through temporary markings.”
“I know,” Wen Yuxi said with a smile. “I understand. Thank you for being willing to help me, Sister.”
“Don’t thank me,” Ming Qian replied, shaking her head. “This situation is partly my responsibility. It’s what I should do.”
Wen Yuxi disagreed. “It was my father’s fault. How could you possibly be responsible?”
Ming Qian didn’t argue. “A temporary marking from an S-Class Alpha lasts for six months. During that time, we’ll need to maintain a close relationship. Yuxi, would that feel like a burden to you?”
“How could you say that?!” Wen Yuxi quickly denied, pulling Ming Qian into a hug and planting a loud kiss on her cheek. “Can’t you feel how wild I am in bed?”
Ming Qian: “……”
During their High Fever Period, Omegas become passionate and unrestrained. They may appear lucid and rational, but this is an illusion. Influenced by hormonal surges, they’re like someone slightly drunk, unable to fully control themselves and often acting recklessly without realizing it.
Trying to have a serious conversation under such circumstances was bound to fail.
Ming Qian sighed, defeated. “Let’s talk about this after your High Fever Period is over.”
Wen Yuxi blinked, her eyes sparkling. “Then… should we do it again?”
“……” Ming Qian pressed a hand to her forehead. “Let’s eat first.”
“Alright,” Wen Yuxi agreed, counting on her fingers. “After dinner, we’ll do it twice—no, three times! Not a single time less!”
Ming Qian: “……”
Ming Qian took a deep breath. “Fine.”
