To Sink Into You - Chapter 32
The night was deep, and the bedroom glowed with warm light. The dim illumination cast intertwined shadows of two figures on the bed onto the wall, their movements rhythmic and tender, creating a scene of intimate warmth.
From the bed to the window, and then from the window to the bathroom, time seemed to melt away. The lingering sounds of passion gradually subsided, the warm light was extinguished, and silence settled over everything.
Ming Qian nestled in Wen Yuxi’s arms, closing her eyes in contentment. A pure, childlike smile played on her lips, her usual composed demeanor vanished, replaced by the innocent joy of a little girl who had just received candy.
Tonight, her aura leaned more toward that of a delicate and adorable Omega, endlessly stirring others’ protective instincts.
Wen Yuxi adored Ming Qian in this state. Gently stroking the woman’s soft, flowing hair, her eyes filled with tenderness, she whispered, “Good night, my darling wife.”
Ming Qian lifted her head and kissed Wen Yuxi’s chin. “Good night, my darling.”
Wen Yuxi chuckled softly, playfully demanding, “Say ‘darling’ again.”
Ming Qian readily complied. “Darling.”
“One more time.”
“Darling wife.”
“I want to hear it again.”
“My darling wife.”
“Still… mmm…”
“Darling, just one more time.”
The Heat Period and High Fever Period lasted roughly the same amount of time, typically 3 to 7 days. After waking up, Wen Yuxi called in sick for Ming Qian, already prepared to stay indoors for the entire week.
These next few days are going to be so decadent, she thought, her anticipation bubbling.
Wen Yuxi tied on her apron, humming a cheerful tune as she entered the kitchen to make breakfast, her heart brimming with contentment.
Since moving into Ink Moon Manor, Wen Yuxi had taken over all kitchen duties, with Aunt Yang only occasionally stopping by for deep cleaning. Of course, she wasn’t playing the role of a selfless helper; she simply wanted to protect their long-awaited privacy from interruptions.
Halfway through cooking the porridge, Ming Qian woke up. Still in her pajamas, her waist-length hair cascaded down her back as she pressed against Wen Yuxi, biting her lips in a deep kiss.
The minty scent of toothpaste filled their mouths. Wen Yuxi gazed at the glistening droplets clinging to Ming Qian’s raven-black lashes, her rationality teetering on the edge as she responded passionately.
Thankfully, Ming Qian didn’t push further. After kissing her enough, she wrapped her arms around Wen Yuxi and asked with a smile, “What do you want to eat, darling?”
“Chicken congee,” Wen Yuxi replied, still wanting more kisses. She hugged Ming Qian again, asking, “Does my wife like it?”
Ming Qian patted her head. “I do.”
After breakfast, Wen Yuxi coaxed Ming Qian to watch TV while she loaded the dishes into the dishwasher and tidied up the kitchen. When she returned to the living room, she found it empty. Ming Qian was in the study, already at her computer checking emails.
Wen Yuxi: “……”
“You’re in your Heat Period and still thinking about work!”
“Workaholic, take a break,” Wen Yuxi said, walking over and bending down to kiss her. “I’ve already called in sick for you. It’s rest time now. Stay with me, okay?”
Ming Qian, ever obedient, nodded readily. “Okay.”
Wen Yuxi cut up a plate of fruit, found a movie, and the two settled side-by-side on the sofa, leisurely passing the time.
“Want a grape?” Wen Yuxi picked up a small fork, speared a grape, and fed it to Ming Qian with a smile. “Come on, wifey, open wide.”
Ming Qian parted her lips to take the grape, a hint of allure coloring the corners of her eyes. She pressed her hand against Wen Yuxi’s thigh, leaned in, and kissed her, each taking turns feeding each other.
Aww, they’re so lovey-dovey! I love it! Wen Yuxi thought, beaming.
The movie went unwatched as the fruit was devoured in various playful ways. After a while of fooling around on the sofa, Wen Yuxi’s back began to ache. She pleaded softly, “No more, Jiejie. Let’s just watch the movie.”
Ming Qian steadied her slender waist, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “What’s there to watch? It’s already over.”
Wen Yuxi blinked in surprise, turned her head, and saw that the credits were indeed rolling, white subtitles slowly scrolling across the screen.
Have they been at it for this long…?
Ming Qian turned off the television, pulled Wen Yuxi onto her lap, and gently kissed the girl’s earlobe. “The movie’s over,” she murmured softly. “Let’s continue.”
Wen Yuxi: “……”
Wen Yuxi: “Okay.”
This is what they mean by ‘the heavenly cycle of karma’.
After two more rounds, Wen Yuxi couldn’t take it anymore. Her voice trembling with tears, she begged, “Sister, darling, my back hurts.”
“Alright, we’ll stop.”
Ming Qian tenderly lifted Wen Yuxi, carefully bathed her, dried her hair, changed her clothes, and opened the window to clear the air of the lingering, bl00d-stirring pheromones, preventing any further accidental escalation.
The warm winter afternoon sun felt comforting on their faces. Wen Yuxi draped a coat over her shoulders, cradled a cup of coffee, and settled onto the balcony to bask in the sunlight. When Ming Qian approached, she found Wen Yuxi and Coffee sitting together on the lounge chair, heads tilted back, eyes closed, soaking up the sun—a scene of cozy serenity.
“Want some tea?” Ming Qian set down the tray and offered her a cup of hot tea. “Stay hydrated.”
Wen Yuxi’s cheeks flushed crimson as she recalled something. She accepted the cup with a soft cough. “Oh, okay.”
A bone-chilling wind swept through, causing the wind chimes to ring with a crisp, melodious sound.
Wen Yuxi shivered, quickly took a sip of tea, and tightened her coat. “Are you cold, Sis?” she asked.
“Not at all,” Ming Qian replied, cradling her teacup as she sat beside her. “Are you cold?” she asked with concern.
“A little,” Wen Yuxi admitted.
“Let’s go back inside. Don’t catch a cold.”
“I want to bask in the sun.”
“Then put on another layer?”
“Too lazy to move.”
Ming Qian instantly understood her little scheme, suppressing a smile. Her voice turned teasingly seductive: “Then come snuggle in my arms?”
Wen Yuxi grinned mischievously and wrapped her arms around Ming Qian. “Since you’re offering, I won’t be shy about it.”
Coffee, who had been watching from the side, was furious. His fur bristled as he leaped off the lounge chair, darting back into the living room as if he’d spotted something filthy.
Wen Yuxi burst into laughter. “Coffee ran away! He must be disgusted by our mushy behavior.”
Ming Qian wrapped her arm around Wen Yuxi’s waist, inhaling the sweet scent of rosemary. Her lips curved into a smile. “We’re legally married partners. Being affectionate is perfectly normal. Coffee needs to get used to it sooner rather than later.”
During their Heat Period, Alphas become intensely dependent on Omegas, even to the point of affecting their thinking. Wen Yuxi knew she shouldn’t take Ming Qian’s words seriously, but…
She nestled closer to Ming Qian, smiling sweetly. “Yes, it’s perfectly normal.”
Forget it, she thought. I shouldn’t overthink this. I’ll just cherish the present moment.
Ming Qian’s slender fingers brushed aside Wen Yuxi’s bangs, her eyes curving into a gentle smile. “Yuxi, do you like the tea I made?”
“Mmm,” Wen Yuxi kissed her fingertip. “Would you like to try it, jiejie?”
“I already have,” Ming Qian replied.
Wen Yuxi leaned close to her ear, whispering with a soft laugh, “I meant, taste what’s in my mouth.”
Ming Qian playfully flicked her nose. “It’s cold outside. Let’s go inside to kiss, okay?”
“Okay~”
Back in the living room, just as Wen Yuxi was about to make good on her promise to kiss her wife, her phone suddenly rang.
She answered, “Mom, what’s wrong?”
“Xixi, hurry to the Wen Family’s old mansion!” Su Xi’s voice was urgent. “Your cousin has been caught by the old man, and they’re arguing fiercely. You need to come and mediate!”
Wen Yuxi’s expression changed instantly. “I’ll be right there.”
