To You Who Will Destroy Me - Chapter 9
<Episode 9>
…Chocolarani. No matter how I looked at it, the only names that suited that dog were ‘Cerberus’ or ‘Hellhound’ not a puppy’s name called Coco…
But to the man’s eyes, the dog looked like a small poodle. It was as if it was reaching out its hand and giggling. It looked like he didn’t know what to do because it was so adorable.
“Come on.”
At the short command, the dog that had been growling fiercely until just now immediately folded its ears and showed its belly cowardly, as if submitting to an absolute power. The man, who had casually stroked its coarse fur and exposed chin, continued to speak.
“I understand, but I’m a bit busy. So I don’t have time to take Choco for a walk.”
He received the dog leash from his subordinate and jingled the chain as if to be heard. Then he asked Jack, who was kneeling on the floor with a mischievous smile, indirectly.
“So, you want to help me out?”
“Eww, huff! Ewww!!”
Unfortunately, Jack, whose mouth was blocked, could not say no. He desperately shook his face, which was covered in tears and snot, but the red-haired man pretended not to see it.
“I’m grateful.”
A murderous intent appeared on his face as he smiled with his sensual lips. As he nodded slightly, his men untied the ropes that bound Jack’s arms and forcibly lifted him up from the floor.
Even though he was finally free, Jack didn’t look happy at all. That was understandable. Right in front of him was a two-headed dog, drooling and growling with its sharp fangs exposed.
“Let’s count to three now.”
“Well, I’ll do anything!! I’ll beg you, please, just spare my life… … .”
Jack hurriedly pulled out the cloth covering his mouth and rubbed his hands together desperately as he begged. However, the answer he received was extremely cold.
“One.”
Jack gasped. Realizing that begging any longer would be useless, he turned around and fled, while kicking the ground in a panic.
“Two.”
The red-haired man grinned after the second count. And before he had even counted to three, he had let go of the hand that was holding the dog.
“Boom!!”
The dog, which had been barking loudly, dashed out as if it had been waiting for this moment. Four pairs of red eyes were already fiercely chasing after Jack, who was running away.
“Kyaaaaah!!! Save me!!!!!!”
Not long after Jack ran out, a terrible scream rang out. It was a scream so heartbreaking that it made anyone who heard it flinch. Except, of course, for one person.
“Oh, he missed it. If you keep doing this, you’ll get into bad a big trouble in the future.”
The man looked down at the hand that had been holding the leash and muttered in regret. However, there was not even a hint of guilt in the smile on his lips.
‘Oh my god.’
Irel felt dizzy at the scene that she had just witnessed. The man who had tormented her every night had a personality worse than nightmares. She wondered what kind of connection he had with her that he kept appearing in her dreams, but her fear was greater than her curiosity.
If she was caught here, she wouldn’t be safe either. The sense of crisis that rose to the tip of her chin actually made her move her stiff legs.
‘I have to get away from here.’
Irel covered her mouth with her hand and slowly backed away. Then, as soon as she was a little way away from the building, she turned around and ran.
If it were up to her, she would have run straight to the carriage without stopping. However, Irel’s thin, white legs were of a very little help in running, especially when she was wearing shoes decorated with pearls and silk.
“Ah!”
Irel, who was running along the path that was barely above the grass, eventually fell down, while stubbing her knee. She briefly rubbed her knee that had hit the dirt before turning around in a hurry.
It felt like someone was chasing after me and would grab my hair at any moment. But no matter how many times I looked back, I couldn’t see the scary dog or the red-haired man.
Irel felt a deep sense of relief upon seeing this. And it was at that moment when she turned around to get up again. A large hand suddenly appeared from behind her and covered her eyes without warning.
“Did you enjoy playing tag?”
A low voice whispered right next to her ear. It was a sweet voice, like hot, rich chocolate being poured into her eardrums. But Irel remembered exactly who this wonderful voice belonged to.
‘Oh my god.’
Since when did I start being followed by him? I didn’t even know I was caught in the first place, and I was scared of him chasing me without anyone noticing. I was so scared that I didn’t dare shake off the hand that covered my eyes, and I didn’t even think about getting up and running.
The man who saw Irel frozen like a rat that had met a snake let out a puzzled voice, “Huh?”
“You’re not screaming.”
It was a strangely regretful tone of voice. That was why Irel realized that if she had yelled and gotten on his nerves, she would have died before the scream had even ended.
“I will praise you for being kind, but as a lady, you shouldn’t pry into other people’s private lives.”
His tone was gentle, but his words were even more arrogant. His actions were almost threatening, and his other hand grabbed Irel’s slender nape. Then, with a firm force, he forced Irel to the floor.
“You saw something you shouldn’t have seen, so you should face the consequences.”
The man muttered in a languid tone and moved the hand covering her eyes from side to side. As he gently rubbed her eyes and nose bridge as if enjoying it, her trembling eyelashes tickled his palm. The man chuckled at the sensation and soon became lost in thought.
“Originally, I would have killed you… … But since you’re pretty, let me take a look.”
What should I do? The man pondered leisurely, holding her pulse in his hand as it thumped with fear. Then, as if he had realized something, he exclaimed, “Ah.”
“We seem to be very affectionate like this.”
Irel lying face down on the ground, with the man on top of her, holding her down. If a passerby saw this, they might have mistakenly thought they were committing an obscene act on a country road.
“I quite like stories where you get what you want even if you have to risk your body.”
What do you think? the man asked in an eerily affectionate voice, as if she had a choice.
“You have to answer.”
Irel shut her mouth tightly, not knowing what to do about his sudden suggestion. Then the man rubbed the back of her neck with his thumb and urged her again.
“I like people who speak their minds.”
Of course, if she did express herself, then she will be dead.
He looked down at the woman he had caught with cold eyes. To be honest, she wasn’t the type of woman he liked, he preferred sensual and bold type. Of course, she was incomparably pretty, but she looked so fragile that he could break her if he hit her.
Anyone who saw her would say that she was a pretty, tall noble lady, but she was strangely appealing to him, so he thought about it for a moment.
If that woman hadn’t smelled so good in the first place, I wouldn’t have hesitated this much. Well, thanks to that, I noticed the presence of the woman peeking outside the window early on.
‘Should I just kill her now?’
He licked his lips as he looked down at the woman who was lying face down and trembled like a rabbit. Normally, he would have killed her in one breath, but he didn’t do so because it was purely a whim.
The annoying whims that always make him act impulsively and like a crazy person. It sprouted a little annoyingly towards the woman in front of him.
“That’s strange. Why does it smell so sweet, the scent coming from you is so…?”
The man, unable to overcome his curiosity, lowered his head even deeper. Then, like a large feline, he buried his face in the nape of her neck and sniffed. Every time his sharp nose brushed through her hair and brushed over her nape, she felt a chill.
“It’s a mouth-watering smell. Are you in heat?”
He felt an intention to insult her in the muttering words that seemed to be meant to be heard. At this, Irel bit her lips harder in shame, and the sound of his favorability dropping rang out. It seemed that he was quite annoyed with her for continuing to keep her mouth shut.
It wasn’t a very smart move to lower the favorability rating of the man who held your life in his hands. With her eyes closed, she couldn’t see the man’s name or his exact favorability rating, but it was clear that the situation was bad.
“So, what do you want to do? Are you willing to die with honor? Or… … Are you willing to throw yourself onto me?”
In contrast to his sweet voice, which was like melted chocolate, his fingers were tightly wrapped around Irel’s nape. If he had applied even a little strength, her slender neck would surely break.
“Answer me.”
There was a hint of murderous intent beneath the short voice. It was clear that the man had decided not to wait any longer.
It was a luxury to hesitate any longer here. Irel remembered the man named Jack, who had just been mauled alive by a dog. As she recalled his last, horrible scream, there was only one choice.
“I, I… I want to live.”
Even if it means giving up my body.
