- Chapter 20 - Si Yuhuai! You Are My God!
Si Yuhuai never imagined that his distorted relationship with Jiang Xu would turn out to be so harmonious.
At night, lying in bed, Jiang Xu clung to him like an irresistibly strong and smooth magnet, tightly attaching himself, their bodies generating heat simply by being so close.
Although at first, sleeping together was because Jiang Xu was too clingy, it was worth mentioning that recently, Si Yuhuai hadn’t sleepwalked at all. Even that Shen guy said it was a good omen.
Si Yuhuai had always thought his life was a barren wasteland, overrun with withered grass.
When he took control of the entire Si family, that patch of dry grass ignited into a wildfire, leaving only desolation behind.
He thought he would quietly await the end, waiting for the world to collapse. But unexpectedly, one day, after the sun rose, a patch of green grass sprouted on that wasteland.
Slowly, Si Yuhuai no longer wished for the world’s end—his gaze was drawn to that fragile green.
The dim yellow light cast a soft glow, outlining the boy’s profile in gentle curves. His long lashes lowered, making him look so obedient, while the little pout of his lips in sleep carried an innocent sensuality.
Utterly bewitching.
Almost against his will, Si Yuhuai reached out to touch, the corner of his lips curving into a faint smile.
If the butler saw this, he’d probably leap in shock.
The young master was smiling! And not the usual sneer, scorn, or cold smirk…
After staying home for so long, Jiang Xu sometimes felt a bit bored.
After a heavy rain, the roses in the garden bloomed even more vibrantly, competing in brilliance.
One morning, he saw the butler trimming the roses and placing the fresh branches into a crystal vase in the living room.
Seeing Jiang Xu stumbling down the stairs with a heavy head, the butler chuckled.
“Master Jiang Xu, the flowers outside are blooming beautifully. You should go out and see them.”
The cluster of roses was stunning, one branch holding several budding blossoms, rainwater still clinging to the leaves, sparkling under the sunlight.
Jiang Xu’s interest piqued. “Wait, I’ll get my phone! Uncle Sheng, I’ll take some pictures for you!”
Once people reach a certain age, their photography instincts awaken—these vast stretches of flowers really did look amazing in photos.
Jiang Xu snapped shot after shot, over a hundred in total.
Some turned out gorgeous, others were total flops.
Sitting on the swing in the yard, he dumped all the photos to Si Yuhuai.
Si Yuhuai’s phone chimed endlessly, but he patiently looked through them.
He had to admit, Jiang Xu had a decent eye.
The old butler in the photos looked like some European aristocrat.
Even the dog yawning somehow looked dignified and lazy at the same time.
Jiang Xu picked his favorites and sent them to the butler, who smiled.
“Master Jiang Xu, your photography skills are excellent. I could use this as my wallpaper.”
Jiang Xu lifted his chin proudly.
He actually did enjoy photography. Most of his photos in memory were of sunlight.
He was terrified of not seeing tomorrow’s sun, so he tried to capture it—one photo at a time.
Taking pictures felt like keeping time still.
But honestly, it wasn’t his skill—it was that the flowers were simply too photogenic.
That evening, Si Yuhuai returned home with Li Xiujie.
While Si Yuhuai sat on the sofa, Li Xiujie awkwardly and carefully stacked a pile of boxes on the table.
“Master Jiang Xu, these are gifts from the boss.”
Wearing his professional fake smile, Li Xiujie cursed inside: Damn rich people, buying cameras worth tens of thousands without blinking, yet won’t pay me overtime!
Si Yuhuai shot him a cold glance.
Li Xiujie quickly said, “Boss, I’ll head home then.”
Si Yuhuai twisted the ring on his finger, the corner of his lips lifting into a faint smile.
“Go on then, hurry home. After all, it’s not like I pay you for overtime.”
Li Xiujie: “…”
This man was turning into a demon. He slipped out quickly.
Jiang Xu leaned over curiously. “What’s all this?”
“Cameras,” Si Yuhuai said. “Didn’t you say you liked photography?”
He tried to appear casual, though his gaze lingered on Jiang Xu, wanting to see which one he liked best.
“S-Si Yuhuai, this is too much! I mean, with my crappy skills, using these would just be a waste!”
Si Yuhuai’s expression eased as he continued to feign indifference. “Didn’t you say you liked it? I just bought them casually.”
Jiang Xu’s eyes darted wildly, almost overwhelmed. His hands trembled a little.
These were all professional-grade cameras. Jiang Xu had some photography sense, but it wasn’t worth all this fuss.
Still, anyone who knew the field understood—this equipment wasn’t even in the same league as ordinary gear. For professionals, these were treasures.
Si Yuhuai caught the light sparkling in Jiang Xu’s delicate, beautiful eyes, saw the excitement he couldn’t hide, and even considered clearing a display case just for his photography equipment.
Jiang Xu swallowed hard.
“Si Yuhuai, not even in my dreams would I dare imagine this. Don’t scare me.”
Si Yuhuai frowned, mocking, “Not even in your dreams? You really don’t have much courage.”
He stood, walked over, and asked, “Don’t like them? Should I throw them out?”
“No, no, no! Throw them into my arms!” Jiang Xu rushed over to stop him.
Grinning, he said, “Thanks, Si Yuhuai. But I’ll just pick one. That’s enough.”
Si Yuhuai noticed the little chibi boy above his head was bouncing happily, and finally relaxed his frown.
“Take them all. I only bought them casually anyway.”
System: “…”
Casually, huh? Do you need to remind us that many times?
【Holy crap holy crap! My heart is racing, my hands are shaking—am I really this rich now?!】
【This camera—I’ve been eyeing it forever!】
【Si Yuhuai! You are literally my god! The genie that gives me anything I want!】
Si Yuhuai’s eyes softened with delight, narrowing comfortably, his lips curving up unconsciously. Deep in his chest, a long-lost sense of fulfillment welled up.
He couldn’t even remember the last time he felt like this.
Thinking back, maybe it was twenty years ago, when his mother rewarded him with his first cartridge game console for doing well on an exam.
But later… when he found out how she earned that money, he never wanted a reward again.
Naturally, in the following twenty years, he never experienced pure satisfaction.
His smile faded as he got lost in thought. At some point, Jiang Xu had crept over.
Kneeling on the sofa, leaning on his shoulder, he gave him a little push.
“Si Yuhuai, I heard some people have crazy photography skills. Have you seen those videos online? A guy with just one set of abs can pose so it looks like six! That’s amazing—I want to learn that trick!”
Si Yuhuai sneered.
Then grabbed Jiang Xu’s hand and pressed it against his own stomach.
