- Too Much To Handle! The Canary Forced Love on The Grim/Vicious Villain
- Chapter 5 - Does This Excite You?
Si Yuhuai’s gaze swept past the butler. He hadn’t expected the old man to have such an open mind, knowing quite a lot, actually.
The family doctor kept his professional smile.
“I think Young Master Jiang Xu is simply in a deep sleep. There’s no sign of sleeping pill overdose. In that case, I’ll be on my way.”
【Called over at all hours, never any mention of overtime pay—capitalists are heartless!】
Si Yuhuai: “…”
Why did it feel like the doctor was smiling professionally while cursing his ancestors?
But then again, considering none of his ancestors had been decent people, he decided not to bother.
The butler escorted the doctor out. Zhou Xuning looked at Jiang Xu with a face full of blame.
“You sleep so deeply? I called you so many times and you didn’t wake up. But as soon as Brother Huai comes back, suddenly you’re awake? You were faking, weren’t you!”
Jiang Xu: “…”
He tilted his head, staring blankly at the stranger accusing him out of nowhere.
It took him a good while before he remembered who this boy was.
In the plot, Si Yuhuai really did spoil Zhou Xuning, because Zhou Xuning’s mother and Si Yuhuai’s mother had been in the same “line of work.”
After those two unfortunate women died, Zhou Xuning clung to Si Yuhuai like a drowning man clutching a life raft, treating him as his only family.
When Si Yuhuai returned to the Si household, he had no choice but to place Zhou Xuning in an orphanage and visit him regularly. If he had brought him into the Si residence, Zhou Xuning would only have become another target of bullying.
Only in the past two years, when Si Yuhuai’s wings had grown stronger, had he taken Zhou Xuning back to live under his protection.
He called him a brother without bl00d ties, but Si Yuhuai treated him no differently than if he were raising a son.
Jiang Xu saw how not-so-bright this boy looked and simply ignored his hostile attitude.
【It’s not my fault I barely slept last night because I was too excited after seeing Si Yuhuai! Sleeping in a little is perfectly reasonable!】
Si Yuhuai: “??”
Excited… after seeing him?
He distinctly remembered pinning Jiang Xu by the throat last night. And that got him excited?
This seemingly honest boy… had such kinky tendencies?
Something wasn’t right—
Si Yuhuai’s gaze shifted to above Jiang Xu’s head. There he saw a little chibi boy in a maid outfit hopping up and down excitedly. Beside it were the words:
Identity: Spouse. Favorability: 90.
Jiang Xu’s favorability toward him was an astonishing ninety percent. Even Zhou Xuning’s favorability only reached sixty-five.
Kneeling on the bed, Jiang Xu tugged at the strap on his wrist.
“Husband, can you untie me now?”
His pale, slender wrist was already marked by a raw red ring, glaringly obvious against his fair skin.
Si Yuhuai wondered if this little thing had… some special preference?
Just from having his throat squeezed, not only did he get so excited he couldn’t sleep, but his favorability had skyrocketed?
Si Yuhuai honestly didn’t know who was scarier—himself or Jiang Xu.
His gaze swept over him coolly. “Will you try to run again?”
Jiang Xu shook his head like a rattling drum, eyes devout.
“From today on, I’ll obediently be your darling. I’ll meet all your demands! I’ll never step outside the manor!”
Then he rubbed his sore wrist, cheeks flushing faintly, his gaze shy.
“Just… next time, could you not be so rough? It really hurts.”
Zhou Xuning sucked in a sharp breath—
【Holy moly moly moly! Chu Xingchi said Brother Huai had special kinks—could it actually be true?!
And come on, I’m still here! You’re flirting already? Don’t even bother pretending in front of me? Do you not see me as human??】
Si Yuhuai: “…”
With reading comprehension like that back during college entrance exams, he wouldn’t have had to spend so much money on this kid’s schooling.
“Zhou Xuning, your exams are in a month. You know what’ll happen if you fail again.”
Zhou Xuning: “!!!”
“Yes, Brother Huai, I’ll run back to school right now!”
On his way back to campus, he suddenly felt dazed.
Wait—what was the reason he’d stormed into the manor to find Jiang Xu in the first place?
After showering, Jiang Xu came out wrapped in a bathrobe, looking for clothes.
He didn’t own much—since the original body had always been prepared to run away, all his belongings fit into two half-packed suitcases.
Jiang Xu fished out a white T-shirt and denim shorts, changed, then shook out his damp hair and headed downstairs.
He was starving—wanted food.
But there was no meal waiting. Only Si Yuhuai, seated on the sofa.
For all his sinister air, his face was strikingly authoritative.
Exquisite, aristocratic features; eyes sharp and cold, radiating control.
He lowered his lashes, idly turning the wide wedding band on his middle finger. When he noticed Jiang Xu, he spoke:
“Jiang Xu. Come here.”
For the past three months, Jiang Xu’s goal had been simple: eat, sleep, act obedient, cause no trouble, and wait until the white moonlight returned so he could pat his butt and leave.
The number one rule of being a kept canary: never defy your patron.
So Jiang Xu sat beside him without hesitation. “What is it, husband?”
Si Yuhuai immediately felt uneasy, recalling Jiang Xu’s supposed kink. He frowned.
“Don’t call me that.”
But Jiang Xu’s gaze was bright, fervent, filled with sincerity—like a docile pet dog.
And truthfully, Si Yuhuai did like dogs: loyal, never betraying, capable of protecting their master when needed.
But when Jiang Xu heard his objection, his face showed hesitation. Scratching his nose, he looked embarrassed.
“Then… in broad daylight, calling you ‘Master’ doesn’t seem appropriate, does it?”
Si Yuhuai: “…”
“Maybe you’ve lost your memory, but do you remember you were unwilling to marry me?”
It wasn’t unreasonable for him to suspect—Jiang Xu’s sudden change was so drastic, he even wondered if Jiang Xu was just looking for another chance to poison him.
If he tried that again, he’d never forgive him.
“I was young and foolish before. From now on, you are my god!” Jiang Xu’s eyes sparkled dramatically, though his tone was pious.
Si Yuhuai’s gaze was a dark whirlpool. He leaned close, resting his hand on the sofa back behind Jiang Xu.
“Jiang Xu, are you playing some game with me again?”
His eyes seemed to pierce straight into one’s heart. Jiang Xu felt as if a lie would be caught instantly—but luckily, he had no guilty conscience.
“Play games? I’d need brains for that!” Jiang Xu tested by tugging on Si Yuhuai’s sleeve. When he didn’t shake him off, he grew bolder, clutching his arm.
“Si Yuhuai, husband, I was wrong before. Now I just want to be a good person.”
Si Yuhuai: “…”
“I think you’d do well in showbiz. So much acting.”
Once again accused, Jiang Xu pouted in dissatisfaction but didn’t argue back.
To Si Yuhuai, Jiang Xu simply didn’t seem to have the IQ to plot against him.
His head throbbed; he didn’t want to waste more energy. With a wave of his hand, he said, “Enough, you can go.”
Jiang Xu’s eyes flickered. He hadn’t forgotten about the punishment for poisoning.
“So… husband, you’re just letting me off like that?”
【Please punish me! Punish me hard! If you don’t punish me, I’ll feel unsettled, anxious, won’t even be able to eat!】
