Transmigrated as a Cannon Fodder Alpha in a Scum Alpha Novel (GL) - Chapter 3
Fu Suihan: “…”
Fu Suihan really wanted to ask what “that kind of gaze” specifically referred to.
But the words were too ambiguous, and it was their first meeting. Digging deeper would only make things awkward—for Fu Suihan, at least.
After a moment of silence, Fu Suihan didn’t pursue the topic further. Instead, she calmly asked, “Which floor?”
Song Shixue had seen enough of her changing expressions. After her reply settled, she quietly grumbled, “You were so eloquent just a moment ago.”
Her voice was very soft, but Fu Suihan, with her excellent hearing, “…”
Her ears grew even redder, further solidifying the “they’re together” conjecture in the eyes of the onlookers.
By the time the group chat was already spreading rumors that “Song Shixue and Fu Suihan are getting their marriage certificate soon,” the elevator smoothly stopped on the first floor. The cabin doors opened, and the waiting doorman recognized Song Shixue. With a ingratiating tone and quick movements, he stepped forward, intending to take the wheelchair from Fu Suihan.
To avoid being recognized, Fu Suihan had already put on a mask in the elevator. Now, with her eyes lowered, she stood quietly behind Song Shixue, like an honest and dutiful little assistant.
The doorman’s attitude towards her was naturally not as deferential as it was in front of Song Shixue. Seeing that she wouldn’t let go, he even urged her a few times.
Fu Suihan naturally didn’t argue with him. She merely looked at Song Shixue as if seeking permission, and only after the other party nodded slightly did she allow the doorman to take over.
Without having to push, Fu Suihan felt light. But the doorman’s appearance also reminded her of something else—
Where was Song Shixue’s assistant?
For a star with such a massive fanbase, not having an assistant was practically impossible. Moreover, given the current special circumstances, wasn’t this assistant a bit too incompetent?
Fu Suihan lowered her eyes, intending to ask, but Song Shixue, as if inspired by something, had bright eyes and surprisingly started chatting with someone.
The doorman was flattered and naturally answered as best he could. As Song Shixue chatted, she would look up at Fu Suihan again.
After what had just happened, Fu Suihan was already afraid of meeting her gaze and quickly pretended as if nothing happened before Song Shixue could look at her.
Celebrities gathered at the party, and there should have been media and fans staking out outside the hotel. However, the revolving door was empty, with only a black private car quietly parked, eerily silent as if the area had been deliberately cleared.
The driver had clearly been waiting for a long time. He was a male Beta, with an ordinary appearance and not particularly strong physique. Yet, when the Alpha doorman saw him, he was like a mouse seeing a cat. His desire to ask Song Shixue for an autograph vanished, and he mumbled a bow before returning to his original spot.
The rain had stopped, and the ground was wet. Most of the pheromone inhibitor scent in the hotel lobby had been dispersed by the air. Fu Suihan felt much clearer, even faintly catching a hint of a sweet fragrance from an unknown source.
The scent was very familiar. Before Fu Suihan could discern it precisely, Song Shixue had already tilted her head slightly and asked, “Do you want a ride?”
With her expression management dropped, Song Shixue’s gaze was clear. She seemed to rarely look at someone from this perspective, and her eyes were filled with trust and earnestness.
Fu Suihan was startled, then refused, “No need. My apartment… is very close by.”
Her tone was quite clearly evasive. Song Shixue’s lips parted slightly, clearly wanting to persist, but Fu Suihan’s conflicted gaze shuttled back and forth between the driver and Song Shixue. She spoke before Song Shixue could: “Do you want me to carry you up?”
…Carry?
Almost instantly, the Beta, realizing the enormous lie Song Shixue had told, suppressed a laugh, his face looking stranger and worse than if he were crying.
Song Shixue’s eyes, however, showed a hint of interest. She stared at Fu Suihan’s skin, completely covered by her shirt, with not an inch exposed. Words of teasing hovered on her lips, but she pressed them down with her tongue.
No, not now.
Song Shixue warned herself internally, then neatly refused, “Thank you, but no need.”
With that said, it seemed to have put a stop to both of their thoughts.
Fu Suihan, having been refused, curled her lips slightly, then intended to bid Song Shixue farewell. Like a turn-based game, Song Shixue once again seized the initiative: “Can we exchange contact information?”
She might not have seen a pig run, but she had certainly eaten pork.
A popular Best Actress suddenly asking a struggling 18th-tier artist for contact information—Fu Suihan couldn’t think of any other possibility besides Song Shixue wanting to proposition her.
Yet, Song Shixue seemed to read her thoughts. Her eyelashes fluttered, and she retorted, “Do you think I would harm you?”
If Lin Jiyue had said these words, Fu Suihan would have answered yes without hesitation.
But it was Song Shixue who said it. Even words that seemed like sarcasm, spoken in her calm and gentle tone, brought a sense of pleasure.
Fu Suihan, the weather vane, was swayed by this hammer in Song Shixue’s direction and answered yes.
To show respect to Song Shixue, Fu Suihan deliberately half-squatted, bringing herself to her eye level, before they exchanged contact information.
The two were very close, seemingly able to transmit their breathing frequencies to each other. Fu Suihan felt the sweetness in the air grow heavier, like a ripening peach, exuding a fresh, green scent.
She turned her face, looking at the source of the scent, at Song Shixue, who was just inches away, seemingly within reach with a single raise of her hand.
Several seconds later, Fu Suihan rose naturally.
The commercial district was not far from the hotel. She waved slightly as a farewell. Song Shixue watched her almost fleeing figure until the night swallowed Fu Suihan whole. Only then did she hand her suit jacket to the Beta beside her.
While the Beta carefully placed the jacket in the passenger seat, Song Shixue had already gotten into the car.
The car windows were made of special material, allowing visibility only from the inside out.
In the back seat, Song Shixue lowered her back slightly, her hair wrapped around her wrist. She reached up and tore off the damp protective patch from the back of her neck. The item was stuck to her most sensitive spot. As soon as one side of her gland was exposed to the air, her body shivered.
Peach scent filled the narrow space. In just a few seconds, Song Shixue tore off another protective patch, quickly stopping the spread of pheromones.
When the car drove off into the night again, a very faint peach scent still lingered inside. The Beta, unable to perceive the pheromones, looked normal and playfully remarked to Song Shixue, “Shixue, you’re really… becoming more lively.”
Song Shixue had been accustomed to being upright and dignified since childhood. Coupled with her naturally reserved personality, she had only ever told one lie in her life: concealing her true secondary gender from millions of people.
Song Shixue listened to his teasing and felt that acting was truly detrimental.
If it weren’t for the fact that her next role required her to use a wheelchair and the director had asked her to adapt beforehand, she wouldn’t have been wandering around in a wheelchair recently, and she wouldn’t have been misunderstood, or even taken advantage of, today.
Recalling the calculation in Lin Jiyue’s eyes, Song Shixue scoffed lightly, the frost in her eyes cold and firm.
The Beta keenly noticed her shift in mood, cleared his throat, ended his teasing, and then brought up Fu Suihan: “That Ms. Fu certainly has a prominent personality; she’s quite interesting.”
Hearing Fu Suihan’s name, Song Shixue raised an eyebrow: “How so, a prominent personality?”
The Beta, who only wanted to exchange polite praises: “…”
After listening to the Beta rack his brains to praise Fu Suihan for about ten minutes, the frost in Song Shixue’s eyes finally melted considerably.
Until she drove into the manor, Song Shixue hadn’t put down her phone. She idly fiddled with the device, wanting to message Fu Suihan, but agonizing over the content.
The driver left, and Song Shixue sank into the sofa, finally making up her mind and opening the app.
Unexpectedly, Fu Suihan’s message had been quietly sitting on the homepage for who knows how long.
The sentences weren’t long, but after reading them, Song Shixue felt the protective patch on the back of her neck about to lose its effectiveness again—
[Your protective patch isn’t very good quality. When I was close to you, your pheromone scent was very strong. Like a peach, but sweeter than a peach, it smells very good.]
[Thank you for helping me out tonight. Get some rest. If you’re busy, no need to reply to this message. Good night.]
In the empty manor, with only herself, Song Shixue tore off the protective patch. She sniffed the pervasive peach scent in the air, unable to tell if it smelled good or not—it was perfectly normal to lose the ability to distinguish a scent when one had been accompanied by it for nearly ten years.
Song Shixue stared at the two paragraphs of text. After a moment of silence, she suddenly asked: Do you know what it means in this world when an Alpha compliments an Omega’s pheromones as smelling good?
Fu Suihan replied with a question mark online.
Song Shixue typed: [Courting.]
