Transmigrated as a Scum Alpha Cannon Fodder, Sweetly Pampering the Heroine - Chapter 9
Zhou Pei had booked a newly conceptualized resort villa, a four-story structure with four suites per floor.
Not yet officially open to the public, the resort was hosting VIP guests for trial stays. The environment was indeed elegant and exceptionally quiet, meeting all of Xu Jinman’s requirements.
Xu Jinman sipped a glass of red wine and drifted into a blissful afternoon nap.
She rolled over and found a woman lying beside her, her body curved gracefully. A sweet, intoxicating scent, like a hypnotic drug, drew her in. Half-asleep, she reached out to embrace the woman from behind…
Before her hand could touch the woman, a sudden earthquake shattered the moment.
Irritated, Xu Jinman glanced at the incoming call without checking the number and swiped the screen.
“Xu Jinman!”
Xu Jinman held the phone a few centimeters away, frowning. Her voice, still raspy from sleep, asked, “Who is this?”
“Who am I?! I’m your father!”
“……”
Already furious, Xu Tao’s anger surged into a full-blown rage at her response.
“Have you been out carousing again? It’s bad enough you’re always out of it, but now you’re meddling with the Bidding Team’s affairs? Get back here immediately!”
Xu Tao, Xu Jinman’s biological father.
Xu Jinman rubbed her temples and sat up in bed. The bidding results would be announced today, and if her calculations were correct, the Xu Family was certain to win the project.
“You’re becoming increasingly audacious! I’m not dead yet, and you dare to act behind my back? Xu Jinman…”
“Don’t get angry yet. Let me explain.”
“What’s there to say? You wouldn’t understand a thing!”
Xu Jinman suppressed her morning grumpiness, picked up her water glass, and listened to the person on the phone continue to rant. When he paused for breath, she calmly replied, “You’re just looking down on that small, insignificant place. But what you dismiss, your rivals have been scheming tirelessly to secure, even striking a deal with the bidders.”
“If you don’t believe me, send someone to investigate. You’ll soon see HP Group panicking and jumping up and down. Then you can investigate further to uncover what makes this land so special.”
Xu Jinman’s tone was always serious when discussing business. Perhaps sensing this habit, she softened her voice.
“Dad, even at my worst, I wouldn’t jeopardize the company.”
“You haven’t caused enough trouble already?”
“……”
As expected, Xu Tao snorted coldly. “If I find out you’re messing around, I’ll skin you alive.”
Xu Jinman understood Xu Tao’s anger. Based on her original character’s behavior patterns, such actions would likely stem from either a desire for revenge or a sudden, impulsive whim.
The call ended, and the world instantly fell silent.
What appeared to be a worthless plot of land now would soon transform into Beicheng’s most prosperous entertainment district, thanks to urban planning. Its value would become immeasurable.
In the original story, the Han family’s rise began with this very land. By forging deep partnerships with the authorities, they gradually eclipsed the Xu Family.
However, the Han family’s access to this information wasn’t due to their own capabilities, but rather because someone had leaked it to them.
Thinking of that person, Xu Jinman couldn’t help but smile wryly.
Xu Jinman dragged her slippers across the floor as she pulled open the curtains. Even through the glass, she could feel the warm breeze of early summer swirling outside.
Standing on the third floor, she gazed down at the massive swimming pool below, its azure waters shimmering like liquid gold under the sunlight.
After a moment, she kicked off her slippers, crossed her slender, pale arms, and pulled up her silk white dress, instantly bathing her jade-like body in a soft golden glow.
The glass was privacy-tinted, allowing her to walk to the wardrobe and select a relatively modest swimsuit from a pile of daring bikinis.
She chose a black halter-neck one-piece with a deep V-neck, leaving her waist and back bare. The suit perfectly hugged her figure, emphasizing her curves both front and back.
She thought she should probably discuss her new preferences with Zhou Pei later.
Perhaps because the resort hadn’t fully opened yet, the poolside loungers were empty, and only one other person was in the pool.
Xu Jinman dove in, her lithe figure slicing through the water.
After swimming two laps underwater, she noticed the other person seemed to share her fondness for diving. They passed each other at opposite ends of the pool, their paths crossing perfectly each time.
Xu Jinman surfaced, surprised at how quickly she felt tired after just three laps. Her body had grown soft from lack of exercise.
Xu Jinman wiped the water from her face, ready to rest for a moment, when a wave surged across the pool, and a slender figure emerged from the water.
Xu Jinman froze, her first reaction surprisingly wasn’t shock.
It was awe.
A breathtaking, soul-stirring awe.
Water dripped from the Omega’s long lashes, tracing crystalline paths down her exquisitely refined face, leaving a luminous trail… Her gaze didn’t linger any lower.
The expression on the other side of the pool was starkly different.
The moment Shen Shu saw her, shock gave way to familiar wariness, now tinged with hostility.
Shen Shu quickly pressed her arm against the pool’s edge, snapping, “You’re stalking me! Cough, cough, cough…”
Her fury and haste caused her to choke, her milky-white skin flushing crimson.
“…Slow down, you’ll choke. I’m getting out first.”
Xu Jinman climbed out of the pool, draping a towel over her shoulders. The wet strands fell across her cheeks, which she casually brushed back.
“Zhou Pei arranged this. I didn’t know you were here.” Xu Jinman wiped her face with the towel, her eyes narrowing slightly in the sunlight, her tone calm. “Think about it. If I wanted to harm you, would I have let you stay safe this long?”
Shen Shu knew Xu Jinman’s words held truth, but lingering unease about her still lingered in her heart.
Shen Shu raised her gaze. “Then what was your reason for forcing me to submit and doing those things?”
“I’d like to explain,” Xu Jinman said, her legs weakening. She sank into a lounge chair. “Are you willing to listen now?”
Shen Shu remained silent.
Xu Jinman looked at her, about to speak, when the people and objects in her vision began to overlap, blurring into multiple layers of afterimages. A ringing filled her ears.
This time, she was certain the symptoms were connected to Shen Shu, yet the sensation felt subtly different…
This episode leaned more toward that first night.
The same surge of excitement, the impulsive urge, the tingling stimulation of her glands swelling.
A vivid image flashed through her mind: Shen Shu lying on top of her, panting in a camisole. Xu Jinman’s fingertips twitched slightly, as if recalling the smooth, supple texture of Omega skin…
Her heart pounded like thunder. She mumbled something about going upstairs and talking later, though she wasn’t even sure if that was what she meant, as she could barely hear herself.
Barely managing to stay upright, she stumbled toward the stairs.
“Who’s that? How much did she drink to get this drunk?”
Cai Ying, clad in a pale yellow bikini and carrying a glass of juice, approached Shen Shu. Observing the tall, unsteady figure, she remarked, “She really has a great figure.”
Shen Shu: “Xu Jinman.”
Pfft!
Cai Ying wiped juice from her lips. “What’s she doing here? Did she follow you?!”
Shen Shu shook her head.
I don’t know anymore. I’m not sure.
If this had happened before, she would have answered with certainty. But Xu Jinman’s attitude just now had shown a hint of sincerity.
Sincerity—a word that seemed absurd when applied to Xu Jinman.
After dinner, as dusk settled, the mountain villa grew misty and eerily quiet.
The two women sat in the villa’s café, Shen Shu’s expression darkening as she read messages from work. Just then, a staff member approached.
An Alpha in a VIP suite on the third floor had entered his rut.
The emergency doctor had already administered medication, but the other guests on the floor were disturbed, especially the Omega guests who had requested to move to other floors. Now, they needed to be reassured.
Cai’s father had always hoped Cai Ying would inherit the family business, and this villa was meant to be her training ground. Thus, the task of comforting the guests fell to Cai Ying.
Shen Shu cautioned, “Be careful.”
Cai Ying chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’ll just check on them and reassure the other guests.”
Shen Shu didn’t press further, but after waiting over an hour without Cai Ying’s return, she tried calling her, only to find the call wouldn’t connect.
When she asked a staff member, she learned there were only two Omega guests on the third floor, and the reassurance had been completed long ago. Cai Ying should have returned half an hour earlier.
After ordering a thorough search, they still couldn’t find her.
A staff member mentioned seeing Cai Ying go upstairs again later. Shen Shu felt a sudden, ominous premonition.
“Do you know which floor she went to?” Shen Shu asked.
“Probably still the third floor,” the staff member replied. “There’s one Alpha guest there. The fourth floor is empty.”
Shen Shu led two staff members directly to the third floor, grabbing a knife from the front desk before leaving.
They checked the empty rooms first, finally stopping at the only occupied one.
After going upstairs, Xu Jinman had taken an emergency suppressant prepared by Professor Qin. Her breathing and heart rate gradually calmed.
She collapsed onto the bed, too exhausted to even change clothes. She wanted to call Professor Qin but vaguely remembered leaving her phone on the table…
Then she drifted into a deep sleep.
She didn’t know how long she’d slept when she was jolted awake by relentless knocking. Her swollen glands throbbed painfully; instead of improving, her condition had worsened during her sleep.
She had a premonition—she was about to revert to that uncontrollable state from the previous night.
Shen Shu stood at the door, knocking several times without any response from inside. She asked the staff member, “Has the surveillance footage been checked?”
The staff member relayed the question to the front desk through their earpiece.
The staff member understood Shen Shu’s concern. An Alpha had just experienced a pheromone surge on this floor, and Alpha pheromones could potentially affect other Alphas.
Cai Ying was an Omega…
But the chances of such an incident were extremely low.
Wouldn’t it be better to check the surveillance footage first before knocking? What if they offended the guest and had to apologize?
Shen Shu’s palms were damp with sweat. Having experienced such situations before, she knew there was no room for complacency in this world.
“Found it!”
The staff member pressed their earpiece, listened to the response, and repeated to Shen Shu, “Miss Shen, the young lady has already returned to her room.”
Shen Shu exhaled in relief, but the breath caught in her throat.
The door suddenly swung open from the inside. Before she could react, an arm clamped around her, and she was yanked inside…
