Transmigrated as an Alpha, the Fox Spirit Lives on Pheromone - Chapter 4
Bai Muqin belatedly realized how icy cold Jiang Li’s hands were, making her shiver involuntarily.
“Still not cold? Your hands feel like they’ve been pulled straight from a freezer.” With a frosty expression, she withdrew her feet from Jiang Li’s embrace and pointed to the transparent glass door in the room. “Go take a hot shower.”
Jiang Li hesitated, recalling her recent bathing experience. She looked at Bai Muqin with pitiful eyes and said, “It hurts. And there’s mud.” As a fox spirit, she had always relied on minor spells to clean herself. The concept of bathing—which not only caused pain but also made her shed dirt—was utterly unacceptable to her, and she resisted it entirely.
At first, Bai Muqin didn’t understand what Jiang Li meant. Then she remembered her earlier instructions to the maid, “Make sure to wash her thoroughly.” Realization dawned, and she couldn’t help but chuckle softly. “That was because you were too dirty before, so we had to scrub hard. Now you’re already clean—just rinse yourself with warm water. It won’t hurt, and there won’t be any mud.”
Jiang Li nodded obediently. But when Bai Muqin asked if she knew how to bathe herself, she shook her head. In the original host’s memories, she couldn’t find any instance of bathing alone—it seemed someone had always attended to her.
Bai Muqin initially considered calling the maid for help but hesitated, mindful of Jiang Li’s lingering trauma. Instead, she led her to the shower room.
“Turn this way for hot water, and this way for cold. Test the temperature yourself before you start.” As soon as Bai Muqin finished speaking, she turned to find Jiang Li already standing stark naked behind her, utterly unselfconscious.
Bai Muqin’s face warmed, her gaze flitting away—yet she had already taken in everything. Smooth, delicate skin that looked as if it would bruise at a touch, a taut stomach without an ounce of excess fat, a figure more developed than the average Alpha’s, and long, straight legs with perfect proportions.
Images of all sorts of blush-inducing scenarios flashed through Bai Muqin’s mind. She hastily averted her eyes, masking her inner turmoil with a cold tone. “Why did you strip completely? Aren’t you embarrassed to be naked in front of others?”
Jiang Li curved her eyes into a smile, answering cheerfully, “Master isn’t ‘others.’ Ah Li belongs to Master, so there’s no need to be embarrassed.”
Her expression was sincere, her eyes clear and pure. Bai Muqin felt a pang of guilt for her own improper thoughts, though it quickly faded. Perhaps it was precisely because Ah Li was so innocent and untainted that she didn’t resist her closeness—nor did she experience the usual physiological nausea from excessive intimacy.
This train of thought led to another: Should she just let things unfold naturally between them, even if it exceeded her initial expectations? Ever since presenting as an Omega at fifteen, she had suffered through the torment of Heat. At first, suppressants had worked, but whether due to her constitution or some other reason, her body had developed an immunity to them. Each time, she had to increase the dosage, or they would have no effect at all. Doctor Zhou had issued her a final warning: no more suppressants. Left with no choice, she had asked Qin Nian to find Alphas to help her through her Heats—but without exception, all attempts had failed. Fortunately, Ah Li’s arrival had brought a glimmer of hope.
“Master, what are you thinking about?”
Bai Muqin snapped out of her reverie and nudged Jiang Li toward the shower.
Jiang Li turned on the showerhead as she had just learned, but was caught off guard by the cold water, shivering involuntarily.
Bai Muqin rubbed her forehead and pulled her out from under the spray. “Didn’t I tell you to wait until the water’s warm before getting in? Test it with your hand first.”
Drenched like a drowned rat, Jiang Li hung her head and nodded pitifully. Fortunately, the water warmed up within seconds. As the hot water cascaded over her graceful figure, she let out a soft, contented hum—so this was the pleasure of bathing. Just as she was about to share her delight with Bai Muqin, the next moment, she watched her flee in a fluster, utterly unaware of how alluring she was.
Bai Muqin estimated that Jiang Li had finished washing and entered the shower with fresh clothes, only to find her already done—but still wearing her pajamas again. Worse, she hadn’t dried herself at all, leaving the fabric clinging damply to her skin, half-transparent and teasingly seductive.
“Master, I’m all clean!” Jiang Li scurried over to Bai Muqin, nuzzling her arm like an affectionate kitten waiting to be petted.
Bai Muqin’s throat felt oddly dry. She coughed twice and ruffled Jiang Li’s fluffy hair helplessly. “You need to dry yourself before putting clothes on.”
The next second, Jiang Li swiftly stripped off her pajamas again, glanced down, and giggled foolishly. “Master, I’m already dry. Do I still need to wipe?”
Bai Muqin shoved the clothes into Jiang Li’s arms. “Dress yourself.” Then she bolted.
Jiang Li held the garments, inspecting each piece one by one. Thankfully, she still remembered how to dress—managing the lower half just fine—but when it came to the bra, she fumbled clumsily, unable to fasten it.
So, Bai Muqin was greeted by the sight of Jiang Li dashing toward her for help—pants properly on but unzipped, the bra dangling in front, failing to cover what it should, swaying slightly with each step.
For a moment, Bai Muqin was at a loss for words. Recalling her earlier suspicions, she realized she’d overthought things—this girl was a certified fool!
She guided Jiang Li’s hands to fasten the bra, inevitably brushing against that softness. Her fingertips burned, her cheeks flushing hot.
By the time the scent of passionfruit thickened in the air, Bai Muqin realized she was in heat again—all because of Ah Li’s unconscious, repeated temptations.
Before Bai Muqin could speak, Jiang Li bounded over eagerly, eyes sparkling. She swallowed hard, barely containing her excitement, yet still obediently seeking permission. “Master, may I have breakfast now?”
Breathing heavily, Bai Muqin gazed at her with desire, her body scorching. At Jiang Li’s question, the last thread of restraint snapped. Without thinking, she pulled her close.
Jiang Li’s skin, still dotted with tiny, evaporating droplets, felt cool to the touch. Bai Muqin held her, sighing in relief, her usually icy voice now husky.
“Yes.”
Jiang Li leaned closer to Bai Muqin’s gland, gently brushing it with the tip of her nose before taking a deep breath with her eyes narrowed. The sweet, intoxicating fragrance of passionfruit filled the air, refreshing her mind. Fragments of the original host’s memories surged into her consciousness, clearing her thoughts further. But Jiang Li paid no attention to those fragments, wholly absorbed in savoring the delicious scent.
The cool touch of Jiang Li’s nose intermittently grazed the gland, accompanied by her warm breath—alternating between hot and cold—making Bai Muqin tremble uncontrollably. If not for Jiang Li’s arms encircling her, she might have already collapsed.
She melted weakly into Jiang Li’s embrace, craving more but ultimately biting her lip hard, using the pain to cling to the last shreds of her rationality. Fortunately, this was just the tail end of her Heat, and within minutes, the pheromones began to fade.
Jiang Li licked her lips, as if unsatisfied, wishing there had been more. Still, as breakfast went, it was just right.
Downstairs, breakfast was already laid out on the table. Qin Nian picked up a fried dough stick and ate leisurely. Glancing at the time, she noticed Bai Muqin hadn’t come down at her usual hour, so she headed upstairs.
The master bedroom door was open—empty. She peeked into the guest room and nearly jumped in shock. The two were tangled together, clothes in disarray, especially that kidnapped Ah Li, whose upper body was stripped down to just her undergarments.
Qin Nian was utterly stunned, but she still remembered to quietly close the door. She clicked her tongue in disbelief—who would’ve thought her usually composed Mu-jie would be so impatient first thing in the morning? Even at the peak of her Heat, she had always kicked out those handpicked Alphas.
Qin Nian never understood why Bai Muqin resisted intimacy so fiercely. At first, she thought it was just innocence, that Bai Muqin wanted to save her first time for that childhood sweetheart who’d been abroad for over a decade without returning. But after watching her suffer through repeated failed attempts during her Heat, only to finally seek therapy, Qin Nian realized the truth: it wasn’t that she didn’t want to—she was psychologically repulsed by intimacy, to the point of reflexively gagging and reacting violently. So, whenever those poor Alphas got beaten up and kicked out, Qin Nian couldn’t help but feel both pity and amusement.
Initially, Qin Nian had looked down on this Ah Li—mysterious origins, unclear identity. But not only could she stop Mu-jie’s Heat, she wasn’t rejected during intimacy either. Qin Nian couldn’t help but feel a twinge of gratitude toward her. Without Ah Li, Mu-jie would’ve been driven mad by her Heat! As an Omega herself, Qin Nian knew all too well how cruel the Heat could be—the unbearable, primal craving etched into their genes, the scorching fire in their veins while waiting for suppressants.
Before Qin Nian could ponder further, the two emerged from the room. Almost instinctively, she blurted, “Sis, that fast?”
Bai Muqin shot her a glance and ignored her, heading straight downstairs. “Hungry. Breakfast.”
Jiang Li curiously studied Qin Nian, recognizing her as the one who had led her into the room yesterday. Though Qin Nian had chattered endlessly in her ear, Jiang Li had been too famished to register a single word.
Jiang Li gave her a faint smile, then followed Bai Muqin’s footsteps downstairs.
Qin Nian trailed behind them, feeling that something was off. She took a closer look at Jiang Li and finally realized what it was! Today’s Ah Li looked much more beautiful compared to yesterday. Though it was clearly the same person, there was an air of complete transformation about her.
Could one night of passion really bring about such a big change? Curious, she asked Bai Muqin, “Sis, don’t you think Ah Li looks much prettier than yesterday?”
Bai Muqin nodded noncommittally, motioning for Jiang Li to sit down as she chuckled, “So you feel the same way?”
Qin Nian glanced at Jiang Li, raised an eyebrow, and joked, “Ah Li, you’re not some fox spirit reincarnated, are you?”
