Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Boss of the Disabled Heroine (GL, ABO) - Chapter 1
Autumn had arrived in Yicheng.
The wind brushing against her cheeks carried a faint chill. In the abandoned factory where no one had swept for ages, every step on the stairs produced a grating, teeth-jarring creak.
The sky was overcast, the thick clouds heralding an impending storm. Inside the factory, Pei Yujiang strode upward with long steps, taking two stairs at a time, her movements aimless. The higher she climbed, the more the dust choked her, making her cough uncontrollably.
Her destination was a cramped attic.
Years of neglect had left it in disrepair, but the scattered footprints in the dust-covered floor revealed recent visitors. Pei Yujiang sniffed the air, keenly detecting a faint trace of bl00d, then heard a few deliberately suppressed coughs and gasps from inside likely a woman’s voice.
Dazed, Pei Yujiang fumbled in her pocket for the key, struggling several times before finally slotting it into the lock.
Her vision was blurry, her mind foggy. Only when she forcefully pushed the door open and saw the figure bound and stuffed into a corner of the room did she regain a sliver of clarity.
The cardboard box was large but had been torn apart, forcibly accommodating a wheelchair. The woman seated in it was disheveled, her clothes ripped in multiple places. A strip of white cloth, about a finger’s width, was pinned behind her ear likely torn off its frayed end bearing bite marks.
The scent of bl00d Pei Yujiang had noticed earlier came from her. One cut, two cuts… The woman bore several wounds, none too deep, but the gashes in her clothing made them look horrifying.
Pei Yujiang inadvertently met her gaze.
These were eyes with a story.
The description flashed through Pei Yujiang’s mind.
She vaguely recalled reading something like this in a book once, unable at the time to fathom such an odd description. But the moment their eyes locked, the little mystery buried in her heart was instantly solved.
A dim, yellowish bulb cast feeble light in the attic, yet it did nothing to diminish the woman’s beauty. Even with her mouth gagged and her damp, tangled hair hanging in clumps, her eyes shrouded in a misty, sorrowful haze seemed to hold the vibrant essence of spring itself, all condensed into those deep brown-black irises.
But…
Even with her head throbbing and her nostrils filled with the stench of alcohol, Pei Yujiang’s judgment wasn’t entirely impaired.
She suddenly realized this woman couldn’t see her.
Pei Yujiang waved a hand in front of her face. She stood to the right, yet the woman’s gaze remained fixed straight ahead, her muffled whimpers laced with defiance.
Had she been the one to kidnap this woman?
Pei Yujiang felt as though she’d lost her memory, her body moving on autopilot. Watching the woman struggle desperately in the box, an inexplicable thrill surged through her veins. A dark impulse whispered for her to step forward, to restrain and torment her further but a stronger instinct crushed the twisted urge.
“Hiss!”
The moment her consciousness returned, so too did the flood of memories.
In the post-apocalyptic world, Pei Yujiang was the epitome of cold restraint inflexible, ruthless, and notoriously difficult to deal with. Despite being an Alpha, she showed no interest in Omegas.
In this wasteland, humanity and zombies formed two opposing factions. Yet unlike the united zombie hordes, humans with their intellect were far from cohesive. Many resisted the authority of the legitimate military, with rogues banding together to cause chaos. Some even attempted to seduce General Pei Yujiang, the Alpha commander, using Omega pheromones, only to be firmly rejected.
After charging into battle against the Zombie Beast King’s siege and perishing together with it, Pei Yujiang didn’t truly die. Instead, she was bound by a system called “711” and transmigrated into an ABO yuri novel, a story of love and revenge.
But she wasn’t the protagonist. She was the cannon-fodder superior of the female lead.
The novel’s heroine, Yu Zhiwan, possessed a face so beautiful it seemed to defy heaven’s will. A high-tier Omega with potent pheromones, her beauty was tragically offset by her blindness and paralyzed legs, compounding her fragility.
In the book’s plot, Pei Yujiang played the role of a spoiled, incompetent heiress who abused her family’s influence and her mother’s doting to act recklessly in the company. One day, she stumbled upon Yu Zhiwan at work. The original Pei, driven by lust, forcibly separated Yu from her girlfriend Liu Huanran progressing from verbal harassment to attempted rape. The incident was buried due to the Pei family’s connections.
Despite knowing their pheromones were incompatible, the original Pei forcibly marked Yu Zhiwan, subjecting the Omega to unbearable agony.
Reading this far into the plot, Pei Yujiang couldn’t help but frown.
While Alphas could indeed mark Omegas, it had to be consensual otherwise, it was nothing short of violation. Worse, marked Omegas developed dependence on their Alpha’s pheromones, while Alphas remained free to mark others. This biological design was inherently unfair to Omegas.
Moreover, marking was ideally done between highly compatible pairs. An incompatible mark would feel like ants gnawing or flames licking at the glands, a constant torment for the recipient.
In short, the original Pei had committed every imaginable cruelty against Yu Zhiwan, employing twisted methods to torment her. Eventually, Yu snapped. Together with her risen-from-the-ashes official love interest Liu Huanran, they fed the original Pei to wild wolves in the mountains.
The system only provided a rough outline. The novel barely elaborated on this cannon-fodder superior beyond her ruthlessness, lechery, and shameless harassment of Yu Zhiwan plus her eccentric family.
But as Pei Yujiang rapidly reviewed the plot again, something struck her: Why did she remember that at this point in the timeline, the original Pei had never kidnapped Yu Zhiwan?
No, despite being vile and despicable, the original Pei wouldn’t resort to kidnapping. If she wanted an Omega, she’d choose a luxurious hotel, not this filthy place.
So why was she here?
As if to answer her doubts, Pei Yujiang’s phone vibrated. She saw a message notification but didn’t check it immediately, instead first removing the cloth gag from Yu Zhiwan’s mouth.
“…I won’t let you get away with this!”
The female lead, her mouth finally freed, trembled with rage. Having been gagged for so long, her speech was still slightly slurred, making Pei Yujiang frown involuntarily.
As a law-abiding citizen, she had no intention of harming this woman or being wrongfully blamed for something she didn’t do.
Having reincarnated into the body of a scoundrel brought Pei Yujiang no joy only tension and conflict. She quickly scanned the original owner’s memories and glanced at her phone, finding a message from someone.
[Found the place yet?]
[I haven’t fed her for two days. She’s probably weak by now.]
[And she should be entering her heat cycle soon. I didn’t leave any suppressants on her. Just scare her a bit, don’t touch her yet. Wait until I get there so we can enjoy her together.]
The word “enjoy” used in reference to an Omega was definitely not a good sign.
Realizing something was terribly wrong, Pei Yujiang frantically scrolled through the previous messages. She discovered that someone had kidnapped the female lead and anonymously informed the original owner about the key’s location.
The original owner had already been lusting after Yu Zhiwan but initially didn’t believe such an unbelievable opportunity would fall into her lap. Later, she found the idea thrilling and decided to check it out.
At least the original owner wasn’t the kidnapper that was a relief. Pei Yujiang didn’t want to end up singing “Prisoner’s Lament” right after being reborn.
The system informed her: “Your mission is to properly play the role of a cannon fodder character who’ll be humiliated later. But beware, don’t let the female lead’s corruption value get too high. If it reaches 100%, it will trigger world-ending mode!”
After processing the entire script and the original owner’s memories, Pei Yujiang learned two things.
First, she wasn’t actually an Alpha, the original owner had purchased Alpha pheromone extract on the black market.
Second, this so-called “waiting to be humiliated” scenario wasn’t quite what she had imagined.
Pei Yujiang: “What’s the female lead’s current corruption value?”
The system paused briefly: “98%.”
Pei Yujiang: “???”
Was it too late to kill herself and go back to fighting zombie beasts?
As if reading her mind, the system said:
“Too late, host. The person contacting you is Liu Huanran, the female lead’s official love interest. Later, they’ll go through the classic ‘chasing the wife to the crematorium’ trope, full of love-hate drama involving pursuit, escape, and a surprise pregnancy.”
Liu Huanran!?
Before Pei Yujiang could recover from her shock, the system quickly continued:
“This is a redemption story about a scummy Alpha who reforms. The Alpha is genuinely terrible at first but later repents after a series of mutual heartbreaks before achieving a happy ending. Earlier, they had a fight. To make the female lead realize her importance, the scummy Alpha kidnapped her and framed you, planning to heroically rescue her from you.”
“The official love interest will arrive in five minutes.”
The moment the system finished speaking, Pei Yujiang understood she had no time to waste. Her head felt heavy this damned original owner was completely unreliable. Coming to such a place was bad enough, but she’d even gotten drunk beforehand!
Pei Yujiang took a deep breath and walked up to the female lead. With some effort, she untied the ropes binding her. Under the woman’s astonished gaze, she lowered her voice, deliberately altering her tone as she spoke:
“Don’t move. I’m letting you go now.”
A flash of lightning illuminated the room as bright as day, followed immediately by raindrops pattering against the nearby window, splashing violently onto Pei Yujiang’s face. She wiped the water away with her hand and continued working on another set of ropes binding Yu Zhiwan. The kidnapper must have been terrified of her escaping, having wrapped layer upon layer around her.
Now Pei Yujiang understood where those marks on her body came from they were surely friction burns from the rough nylon ropes. An Omega’s skin is delicate; the slightest touch could leave marks. In her panic, the woman’s desperate struggles had naturally covered her body in red abrasions.
Perhaps due to the disorientation of blindness, Yu Zhiwan clutched Pei Yujiang’s wrist with desperate strength, her nails nearly digging into flesh.
Pei Yujiang herself had long been numb to such pain, but the original owner’s body was pampered and sensitive. The sharp sting nearly made her cry out, forcing her to whisper urgently:
“I’m letting you go now, but I wasn’t the one who kidnapped you. Understand?”
To ensure her words could be heard over the torrential rain, Pei Yujiang leaned in close, their heads nearly touching.
Yu Zhiwan slowly removed her mask and silently mouthed words that went unheard. Just then, a raindrop rolled from her lashes down her cheek. Pei Yujiang blinked, unable to clearly see the other woman’s expression.
Moreover, as a Beta now, she had no sensitivity to pheromones. Thus, she failed to immediately notice how intoxicatingly alluring the Omega’s scent had become as it diffused through the air.
By the time she realized, Pei Yujiang only felt a sudden warmth against her lips the overwhelming sensation of the woman’s feverish breath enveloping her completely.
