Transmigrated as the Cannon Fodder Boss of the Disabled Heroine (GL, ABO) - Chapter 2
Pei Yujiang’s mind exploded in an instant.
In her previous life, she had lived to the age of 25, dominating the battlefield at a young age, yet she had never even properly held hands with an Omega, let alone experienced her first kiss.
The Omega’s lips were soft, like smooth jelly, and her tongue skillfully sought Pei Yujiang’s, drawing her in. Pei Yujiang had no experience with kissing and was even more afraid that her strength might hurt the Omega. She instinctively raised her hands and tried to pull back, only to be yanked forward by a pair of delicate hands.
Pei Yujiang reflexively resisted, gripping the woman’s wrists not with much force, but she still heard a faint whimper of pain escape the woman’s throat.
When their lips hastily parted, Pei Yujiang tasted a faint trace of bl00d on her own. She immediately covered her mouth, as if the kiss might leave some visible mark, and frantically wiped at it with her sleeve. The friction only made her already thin lips red and swollen, which would probably make things even harder to explain if anyone saw.
Pei Yujiang was on the verge of a breakdown.
Even just minutes ago, when she had learned she had transmigrated into the body of a scumbag, she hadn’t felt as mentally shattered as she did now.
“I smelled your pheromones on you,” Yu Zhiwan murmured. Her kissing skills weren’t particularly refined just hasty and assertive. Now, her breathing was uneven, her cheeks flushed, and the way she panted slightly was undeniably alluring. The umbrella had been carelessly dropped to the ground, leaving her drenched in the rain, her voice slightly hoarse. “You don’t know how to mark someone?”
But Pei Yujiang, unusually distracted during a conversation, didn’t even register what she had said at first.
Wasn’t she supposed to be the story’s ultimate villain?
The ultimate villain and the female lead locking lips right at the start?
And the female lead had kissed her first?
“Kissed” might be too strong a word after all, she hadn’t pushed Yu Zhiwan away. But her worldview had still been thoroughly shattered.
“I’m sorry. It seems you’re not interested in me, or perhaps I overstepped just now.”
Noticing her silence, Yu Zhiwan lowered her long lashes, her expression dimming as she bent slightly in an awkward bow of apology. It was only then that Pei Yujiang belatedly remembered in the etiquette of Alpha-Omega interactions, if one party was experiencing a sudden heat or an emotional surge due to pheromones, a temporary mark was permissible.
But for an Alpha to mark someone, or for an Omega to accept a mark, there had to be mutual emotional engagement. One couldn’t just bite a scent gland without any prior connection.
Yu Zhiwan had been a little forward, but given the urgency of the situation, Pei Yujiang understood how difficult a heat cycle could be for an Omega. She couldn’t bring herself to blame her.
Right now, though, Pei Yujiang needed to get out of there fast. Liu Huanran, the story’s true love interest, had protagonist halo on his side. Pei Yujiang was unfamiliar with this world, and if she wasn’t careful, she might actually end up behind bars under his influence. That would make her second chance at life completely pointless.
Her head was spinning. She hastily pushed Yu Zhiwan away and turned to leave.
“I really wasn’t the kidnapper! I just heard noises and came to check. And you already kissed me, we’re even now, okay?”
Without waiting for Yu Zhiwan’s response, she spun around to leave. But her head grew heavier with each step, and after staggering a few paces, she collapsed to the ground with a thud, losing consciousness.
As the person before her collapsed, the woman’s gaze gradually turned icy, shedding all traces of her earlier fragility and sorrow. Leaning forward from her wheelchair, she slowly reached toward the back of the other’s neck. When her fingers met smooth, unblemished skin, a cold smirk curled at the corners of her lips.
Just as she suspected.

During her hazy state of unconsciousness, Pei Yujiao had a bizarre dream.
In the dream, she bossed Liu Huanran around relentlessly, using her superior position to tear apart what were actually decent proposals, deriving satisfaction from constantly belittling her. Driven to work endless overtime revising her plans, it was during this period that Liu Huanran met Yu Zhiwan.
Yu Zhiwan was Liu Huanran’s girlfriend. At first, “she” thought Liu Huanran was alright, but later, when Yu Zhiwan came to wait for Liu Huanran after work one day, “she” took an immediate liking to the Omega.
The original host was a Beta pretending to be an Alpha, with a preference for women. For Betas who couldn’t detect pheromones, an Omega’s body was softer and more delicate than an Alpha’s perhaps more appealing to Betas who wanted to take the dominant role, or vice versa.
In the dream, she launched an aggressive pursuit of Yu Zhiwan, completely disregarding that the Omega was already spoken for, even attempting to take liberties. Yu Zhiwan endured it several times, but eventually couldn’t tolerate her increasingly outrageous demands and told Liu Huanran.
To her shock, Liu Huanran not only failed to stand up for her but said that since she was in a critical career phase with important submissions pending ones that would determine her promotion, it was best not to offend the boss’s daughter. She told Yu Zhiwan to endure it.
After bearing it again and again, Yu Zhiwan finally reached her breaking point, nearly falling into depression before making peace with it and leaving Liu Huanran.
Liu Huanran soon resigned and, recognized for her talents at another company, rose swiftly through the ranks.
Like the protagonists in many “scumbag Alpha redemption” stories, she turned her life around, then circled back to pursue Yu Zhiwan. After a grueling “chasing-the-wife-through-the-crematorium” ordeal, Yu Zhiwan hesitantly revealed she had actually been pregnant all along and had given birth to their child. She brought the child out to reunite with her Alpha mother, and the two ultimately found their happy ending.
Meanwhile, she, the stumbling block to their beautiful love story was sought out by Liu Huanran after her rise to power.
By then, Liu Huanran had founded her own company, while the Pei family, following the accidental death of the original host’s mother group chairwoman Pei Jinhuai, had fallen into decline. With no suitable successor, the company descended into chaos, eventually producing faulty products that ruined many people’s faces, leading to its shutdown.
Liu Huanran forced her to kneel before offering assistance, then acquired what remained of their company. A now-blackened Yu Zhiwan took her deep into the mountains, dismembered her, and personally fed her remains to wild wolves.
Before the apocalypse, their country had reportedly been prosperous, with advanced technology and a thriving cultural and entertainment industry.
In her spare time, Pei Yujiao would browse books, including light novels to unwind. One popular genre was the “scumbag Alpha redemption” trope, stories where a scumbag Alpha tormented an Omega, only for the protagonist to transmigrate into the Alpha’s body, shoulder the blame, gradually win over the Omega, and ultimately get the girl.
While this premise could spawn countless interesting variations, the core remained largely the same. They made for entertaining reads nonetheless.
Pei Yujiang could roughly sense the core of this story was the trope of “a scumbag Alpha turning over a new leaf to win back the beauty,” but the female lead Yu Zhiwan had suffered terribly, enduring abuse from two heartless women in succession.
Carrying the vivid palpitations and pain from her dream, Pei Yujiang woke up drenched in sweat and skeptically asked System 711 again:
“Is this era really a harmonious society?”
Why did she feel like the protagonists here were getting increasingly “criminal”?
711 gave a definitive answer:
“It is currently Year 301 of the Yuan Calendar. Records indicate this is a peaceful era.”
Pei Yujiang: “Oh…”
Wait! Year 301 of the Yuan Calendar!?
When she first transmigrated, Pei Yujiang had been too busy dealing with sudden situations to notice the city’s layout. Seeing “Wing City XX” while escorting Yu Zhiwan home, she had assumed it was just a coincidence. Only after the system’s reminder did she open the digital map on her phone and realize the layout here was nearly identical to the Wing City she knew.
Pei Yujiang had studied the nation’s history in textbooks, especially since she had led troops in battle, making her more sensitive to geographical details.
The year she died was Year 501 of the Yuan Calendar was she now exactly two hundred years in the past?
But the system had clearly said this was a world constructed from a novel!
Whatever, she couldn’t be bothered to dwell on it.
Two hundred years ago was before the zombie virus outbreak, a time free from the scourge of zombie beasts, where people lived in peace and prosperity. But this was only recorded in books. Aquaria had a long history, and no one truly knew what things were like two centuries ago.
Excitement sparked the idea of living well in this timeline perhaps she could uncover its mysteries and even prevent the birth of zombie beasts?
Her mental fatigue vanished instantly. Pei Yujiang bolted upright from the bed, only to be forced back down by a sharp pain in the back of her head.
Her fingers brushed against the bandages wrapped around her skull, and she belatedly remembered her current predicament.
Right, she had passed out shortly after transmigrating. Before crossing over, the original host had already drunk heavily, leaving her feeling dizzy and disoriented. After fainting, she couldn’t recall what happened next. Now that she was in the hospital, who had brought her here?
“Young Mistress, you’re awake?”
Just as Pei Yujiang tried to get up, she heard the rustling of curtains being drawn back. From outside, someone waiting poked their head in.
It was her life assistant, Zhou Shuyue, assigned to her by the original host’s mother, Pei Jinhuai. Though called a “life assistant,” her real job was cleaning up the messes the original host constantly made.
The original host had a habit of picking fights, stirring up trouble every other day, making Zhou Shuyue’s job much harder than that of a typical assistant. But with high pay and professionalism, she never complained in front of Pei Yujiang.
Seeing her awake, Zhou Shuyue immediately poured a cup of warm water at the perfect temperature, tucked a pillow behind her back, and gestured for her to sit up properly. Unaccustomed to being cared for, Pei Yujiang masked her discomfort by slowly sipping the water to steady herself.
Zhou Shuyue’s expression had flickered with tension for a moment, but she quickly relaxed and gently urged Pei Yujiang to rest while she went to fetch some food.
The original owner was quite young, only 22 years old now, having just barely scraped by to obtain a college diploma before stubbornly refusing to continue her studies. Zhou Shuyue was exactly 30, several years older than her, and the original owner had been quite dependent on her. Pei Yujiang sat motionless on the hospital bed, soon hearing Zhou Shuyue make a call to have someone deliver some fruit before stepping out onto the balcony of the private hospital room to make another call.
Zhou Shuyue had left in such a hurry that the door wasn’t properly closed. Pei Yujiang pricked up her ears and clearly heard her say:
“President Pei, that Omega has been hospitalized. The young miss was also found at the factory on the outskirts of town, she had fainted on the ground with bl00d all over her back… Don’t worry, it’s just superficial wounds. She’s under observation now.”
“And what’s more, the young miss is actually willing to drink plain water now. I really feel this incident has had a major impact on her. Perhaps the young miss genuinely likes that Omega, even going so far as to do something like this…”
Zhou Shuyue paused, her tone fraught with concern. After a moment, a woman’s voice came through:
“Sigh, do you think I’ve been too strict with her? Maybe if she really wants to pursue that Omega, I should just let her. By the way, how is the Omega? Is it serious? We absolutely mustn’t let this escalate. I’ll handle it personally later.”
Their conversation became intermittent after that, and Pei Yujiang couldn’t make out much more. Soon enough, Zhou Shuyue returned, the requested fruit arrived, and the assistant gently peeled grapes for her to eat.
However, from those few overheard words, Pei Yujiang now understood that the original owner’s lack of academic achievement was largely due to her family’s indulgence.
The original owner had taken her mother’s surname, and that call had likely been the assistant speaking to her mother. Regardless of whether she was actually responsible for the incident, the mother’s tone made it clear that her indulgence toward the original owner was anything but ordinary.
The question was whether this was calculated spoiling or blind doting.
Pei Yujiang deeply sensed the complexity of the situation. Most importantly, she had no recollection of what had happened during her blackout. After sitting on the bed and clearing her head slightly, she summoned 711 to inquire about her most pressing concern, the female lead’s corruption value.
711’s voice sounded like it was being squeezed out from a rusted, nearly broken robot: “99%.”
Pei Yujiang: “Nine… nine what?”
Wait, she’d just taken a nap, what on earth had happened to the female lead in the meantime?
