Transmigrated as the Contracted Alpha Who Marked the Film Queen (GL) - Chapter 1
During the sweltering summer, while waiting between takes as an extra, Lu Xian scrolled through sweet yuri romance recommendations under a popular blogger’s post. The most upvoted suggestion was a novel titled Palm Sweetheart, followed by dramatic reactions in the comments.
“This is the sweetest novel you’ll ever read. I literally fainted from how sweet it was.”
“Just woke up after passing out. It was so sugary, I couldn’t stop smiling like an idiot under my blankets.”
“Not only is the main couple sweet, but the side couples are even sweeter.”
“Thanks for the recommendation. I just finished it, and my heart feels like it’s going to melt. Does anyone know the author’s address? I want to send them a small gift out of gratitude.”
Lu Xian raised an eyebrow. “Is it really that sweet?”
As a level-ten sugar addict, she couldn’t resist. She immediately opened the Green River app, found the book, and dove into the story.
But then she froze. The protagonist Alpha had the exact same name as her.
Lu Xian instantly thought of transmigration tropes. “Should I memorize the whole thing, just in case I get transported into it?”
Only after finishing the novel did she understand why the word sweet was in quotation marks. The author lured readers in with sugary moments, only to stab them in the heart again and again. Not just the main couple, but every pairing ended in heartbreak. Each betrayal was worse than the last.
By the time she reached the end, Lu Xian was emotionally devastated. Her beloved couples had all met tragic fates. She cried until she hyperventilated and collapsed on the film set.
When she slowly regained consciousness, a soft and restrained voice reached her ears.
The curtains were tightly drawn, and a dim bedside lamp cast a warm yellow glow over the room.
Lu Xian lay frozen in bed. This place was unfamiliar. Was this the set for the next scene, the one with a coma patient? Was she already in costume?
Afraid to move, she kept her eyes shut. She could sense someone approaching, their breath carrying a soft, distinctive scent of white tea.
It was delicate but not overpowering, a calming blend of coolness and warmth. It reminded her of rain-washed forests, a natural freshness that gently wrapped around her senses.
“When did you come into my room?” a woman’s voice asked, full of distress. Her soft hands gripped Lu Xian’s shoulders tightly, radiating heat.
Lu Xian tried to stay calm. Was this part of the script? The woman’s grip felt far too strong to be acting. Why wasn’t the director yelling “cut”?
“Lu Xian, you…” The woman’s fingers clutched the fabric at Lu Xian’s shoulders. “Don’t sleep here.”
On set, Lu Xian was just a nameless extra. People either called her “hey” or “that one.” No one actually knew her name.
Her eyes snapped open. The woman above her was stunning. She had a noble elegance, delicate porcelain skin tinged with pink, and eyes that shimmered with tears.
She was breathtaking. Lu Xian was momentarily speechless. Then reality hit her, and she blurted out in shock, “Who are you? Do you know me?”
“Stop making this difficult,” the woman said, her voice thick with restrained emotion. Her red-rimmed eyes revealed she was holding something back. “Go back to your own room. You know I’m in my…”
“…heat cycle?” Lu Xian shot upright in alarm.
She glanced around. There were no cameras. This wasn’t a set.
A cold realization washed over her.
She remembered the tragic yuri novel she had read just before fainting. The story followed a softhearted actress named Ling Tingyu, who rescued the injured and rain-drenched protagonist on a stormy night and brought her home to recover. Even after healing, the protagonist refused to leave. She played the pity card again and again, and Ling Tingyu, who could never ignore someone in need, gave in to every request.
Eventually, after much emotional manipulation, the protagonist pressured Ling Tingyu into marrying her.
Before registering their marriage, Ling Tingyu, acting on her agent’s advice, prepared a prenuptial agreement to protect herself. Outwardly, the protagonist did not object, but deep down she believed Ling was guarding herself at every turn. That suspicion, combined with the protagonist’s long-buried antisocial tendencies, triggered her descent.
After they married, the protagonist dropped all pretenses. Her demands escalated until she finally sneered, “Did you really think I was your loyal dog? How naive.”
That was when Ling Tingyu realized she had invited a snake into her home.
The protagonist later tore up the marriage contract and turned on Ling. She spread rumors about Ling’s personal life, accusing her of being a promiscuous Omega. Behind the scenes, she plotted to transfer Ling’s assets and even destroy her scent gland.
But her victory was short-lived.
In the end, Ling Tingyu snapped. In her madness, she dragged the protagonist into the wilderness, tied her up, and carved out her scent gland.
The worst part of the story came at the end. It was revealed that the protagonist’s initial helpless act in the rain had been entirely fake. From the very beginning, it was a trap. Her intention was always to manipulate Ling Tingyu’s kindness for her own gain.
It had all been a carefully crafted scam.
When Lu Xian finished the book, she was furious. She hated the original Alpha character. That heartless, manipulative woman deserved far worse. Losing her scent gland was getting off easy.
In Lu Xian’s opinion, Ling Tingyu had never loved her. She had simply confused pity with affection. Someone as kind as Ling could never turn her back on someone pretending to be vulnerable.
What Lu Xian never expected was that after criticizing the character so harshly, she would actually wake up inside her body.
Now, assessing the current situation, she realized the original Alpha had sneaked into Ling Tingyu’s room during her heat cycle. She had tried to provoke a bonding reaction by sharing a bed.
Lu Xian checked Ling Tingyu’s condition, her heart racing with anxiety.
Thankfully, she hadn’t succeeded.
Not yet.
The soft white tea fragrance in the air grew stronger as Ling Tingyu began to sweat. Soon, her entire body was soaked, as if she had just been pulled out of water.
Lu Xian felt a strange heat rising in her chest. It was uncomfortable and distracting, but she forced herself to ignore it. She leaned in anxiously and asked, “Ling Tingyu, how are you feeling now?”
“So uncomfortable…” Ling’s slender fingers gripped the sheets tightly. Her delicate body curled up as if trying to escape the burning heat inside her.
Lu Xian’s hands began to sweat. If this continued, Ling Tingyu’s condition could become dangerous. An Omega left unrelieved during a heat cycle could face serious health risks.
“What should we do now?” Lu Xian whispered, her voice trembling.
She suddenly remembered. Suppressants. She needed to find suppressants. She rushed to the drawers and began to search frantically. “Ling Tingyu, where do you keep the suppressants?”
But there were none.
Then it came back to her. The original host had thrown all of them away.
Ling Tingyu frowned slightly and spoke softly, her voice laced with discomfort. “I couldn’t find any when I got back today.”
Lu Xian clenched her jaw. The original host had ruined everything, and now she had to deal with the consequences. She took a deep breath and said, “I’ll take you to the hospital.”
She quickly wrapped Ling Tingyu in clothing and tried to lift her carefully.
“Lu Xian…” Ling reached out with a trembling hand and gripped hers. Her fingers were soft and weak, her body burning with fever. She shook her head slowly, too exhausted to speak.
In that moment, Lu Xian realized the risk. Ling Tingyu was a public figure under intense scrutiny. If they showed up at the hospital together, the media would surely find out about their relationship. Their secret marriage would be exposed in an instant.
“I’ll call a doctor to come here,” she said, pulling out her phone. But when she opened the contact list, the number was gone.
Had the original host deleted it too?
Ling Tingyu looked at Lu Xian carefully. There was real worry in the Alpha’s eyes, not a hint of manipulation. Was she wrong about her?
“It’s too late now…” Ling Tingyu whispered, her voice barely audible. She lowered her head slightly, exposing the soft, pale skin of her neck. “Lu Xian, I might need you to give me a temporary mark.”
A temporary mark from an Alpha could help an Omega endure the worst of a heat cycle. It was a last resort.
Lu Xian’s breath caught in her throat. She stared at the delicate curve of Ling Tingyu’s neck. For a moment, an intense urge rose in her, but she immediately forced it down.
She hesitated. Ling Tingyu’s breath hitched and she let out a soft sob. She was clearly in unbearable pain.
“I’ll help you,” Lu Xian said gently, pushing aside Ling Tingyu’s hair. Her fingers trembled with nervousness. She leaned closer but froze, unable to act.
Ling Tingyu squirmed slightly under her gaze. “Why aren’t you starting?”
“I… I don’t know where to bite,” Lu Xian admitted. Her eyes scanned Ling Tingyu’s skin, which was flushed with warmth. She was terrified of hurting her.
“Don’t be nervous,” Ling Tingyu said softly. She reached for Lu Xian’s hand and guided it behind her ear. “Here.”
Lu Xian touched the slightly raised spot behind the ear and slowly relaxed. She recalled how temporary marks worked in the books she had read. After steadying her breathing, she leaned in and carefully bit down on the sensitive skin.
The first half of the night passed in a blur.
Lu Xian did not remember falling asleep. When she woke, she found deep and shallow bite marks on Ling Tingyu’s neck. Clearly, she had been so flustered the night before that she had bitten around aimlessly, likely overwhelming Ling Tingyu until she passed out from exhaustion.
A sharp pain shot through Lu Xian’s own neck.
Her stomach sank. Had she still followed the original plot?
This was bad. If things continued as written, she would lose everything. Ling Tingyu would descend into madness, drag her into the wilderness, and carve out her scent gland. She would die a slow and miserable death.
Before Ling Tingyu could wake up, Lu Xian tried to quietly slip out of bed. She needed to leave before it was too late.
“Where are you going?”
Lu Xian froze in place. Ling Tingyu’s drowsy voice broke the silence. Her sleepy eyes looked directly at Lu Xian, catching her in the act.
Panicking, Lu Xian blurted out the first excuse she could think of. “I’m still hungry… I was going to find something to eat.”
“Come here,” Ling Tingyu said softly, still lying in bed. The heat in her body had not fully faded.
As if pulled by an invisible thread, Lu Xian walked back to the bedside and stood there awkwardly. Ling Tingyu reached out, her pale fingers tugging gently at Lu Xian’s pajamas.
Before she could react, Lu Xian lost her balance and tumbled onto the bed. Soft pillows cushioned her fall as Ling Tingyu leaned in closer. Their faces were only inches apart. She could feel Ling Tingyu’s breath brushing against her lips.
Lu Xian raised a hand to cover her mouth, eyes wide with panic. “What… what are you doing?”
Ling Tingyu’s breath was warm and sweet. She took Lu Xian’s hand and intertwined their fingers. Her lips pressed lightly against the back of Lu Xian’s hand.
“You said you were hungry…” she whispered.
A surge of heat rushed through Lu Xian’s body, leaving her frozen in place.
“I meant I was hungry for food…” she stammered.
“Not to be eaten…!”
