Transmigrated as the Disabled Alpha of the Yandere Film Empress - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
A few minutes later, Song Yanrong opened the door.
Su Jia stood at the doorway, her expression calm as usual. She spoke softly:
“I want to go back to the Su family for a visit in the next couple of days.”
Song Yanrong asked, “What’s the matter?”
Su Jia replied, “When I went to your house before, my ID card, household registration booklet, and some personal documents were still with my aunt. I want to retrieve them now.”
When her mother passed away, Su Jia was still a child and had been living with her aunt, Su Minhui.
But Su Minhui had a gambling addiction and had squandered a large portion of the inheritance Su Jia’s mother had left behind.
Later, when the Song family approached them, Su Jia had believed Su Minhui’s words and left all her important documents with her. Thinking back now, it was likely her aunt’s way of holding leverage to secure future benefits.
While it wasn’t impossible to get replacements for those documents, the process was troublesome. And having such sensitive information in Su Minhui’s hands made Su Jia uneasy.
If she went alone, Su Minhui definitely wouldn’t give them up easily.
So she had been planning…
“When do you want to go? I’ll go with you,” Song Yanrong interrupted, clearly reading her thoughts.
Su Jia paused for a moment. “Thank you.”
Song Yanrong shook her head. Their eyes met for two seconds. Then Su Jia asked, “Are you feeling better now?”
Song Yanrong answered, “Mm. I’m fine.”
Silence fell between them.
After a few seconds, Song Yanrong said, “If there’s nothing else going on, let’s go tomorrow. The sooner you get your things, the sooner you can feel at ease.”
Su Jia thanked her again.
Everything seemed as polite as it had been days before—nothing out of the ordinary. And yet, Song Yanrong couldn’t shake the feeling that something was… off.
That odd feeling lingered into the next day when they set out.
It was a gloomy summer day, the sky and sea nearly the same shade of gray.
In the car, Song Yanrong glanced at Su Jia, who sat to her right. She turned away for a moment, then asked, “Once we’re done, do you want to go shopping? You didn’t bring many clothes.”
Su Jia turned slightly to look at her. The overcast weather didn’t dim her beauty. Her hair was loosely tied back, and she wore a white spaghetti-strap dress. Behind her, the stormy clouds framed her like a painting.
She gave a small smile and replied, “Sure. Thank you, Miss Song.”
Then there was silence again.
Song Yanrong: “…”
She cleared her throat, lowered the divider between them, and asked in a low voice,
“Are you… mad at me?”
Su Jia blinked, then smiled faintly. “Why would I be? Miss Song has treated me so well, helping me and everything—why would I be angry?”
Song Yanrong: “…As long as you’re not.”
She found it hard to keep pressing the issue.
But she was sure that Su Jia was holding something against her. Most likely because of what happened that night… and it was best not to think too deeply about what exactly the cause was.
Song Yanrong withdrew her gaze, her palm resting on her leg. The sensation—tingling warmth—helped shift her attention slightly.
Though the feeling wasn’t particularly strong, at least she had regained some physical awareness on her own, rather than only feeling something when Su Jia touched her.
And all of it had started… that night.
Was it the pheromone inducer? Her sensitivity period? Or the brief half-minute of intimacy with Su Jia? She had many theories, but none she could yet prove.
She needed time.
She also considered whether she should visit the hospital for a proper check-up—but that meant finding a doctor she could truly trust.
Just as she was lost in thought, her phone vibrated slightly.
It was a message from Zhao Wen.
For once, she had changed how she addressed her:
“Xiao Song, do you have any way to help me get rid of this bodyguard?”
At first glance, the message seemed kind of sinister.
Song Yanrong pictured the face of the person who had stood behind Zhao Wen that day—cold yet refined features, tall, wearing a black T-shirt, hair tied back.
That day had been hectic, so she hadn’t thought much of it. But now she remembered: in the novel, after Zhao Wen was widowed and became known as a single woman in social circles, she had actually been in a brief relationship afterward.
From the limited details provided in the story, she knew it ended in heartbreak—the other woman left, and Zhao Wen never won her back.
That woman was her bodyguard now. Her name… seemed to be Lu Ke.
Song asked: “What’s your bodyguard’s name?”
Zhao Wen replied:
[Lu Ke!]
[I can’t even sneak out to have fun with an alpha without her watching me like a hawk. I’m so done.]
Song Yanrong rubbed her temples.
So the person in Zhao Wen’s messages was indeed the woman she would later have a failed romance with.
A failed “chasing love” arc.
Song Yanrong:
“Treat her well while you can.”
Zhao Wen: “?”
Song Yanrong:
“She’s doing it for your own good. Just look at the places you go and the people you hang out with.”
Zhao Wen: “Weren’t you always the one going with me?”
Song Yanrong: “…”
Song Yanrong:
“It’s not easy to be her. Show some appreciation.”
Zhao Wen: “Are you high on pheromones or something? Whose side are you on?”
Song Yanrong thought to herself:
“You’ll regret it someday when your love turns to ashes.”
Her fingers hovered over the keyboard, but before she could finish typing a reply, she heard a voice beside her:
“Miss Song, if you’re busy, you don’t have to come with me. Having Xiao K come along would’ve been fine too.”
“Ah?” Song Yanrong froze for a moment. “No, I’m not busy. It’s nothing.”
Su Jia looked at her for two seconds and nodded. “That’s good. We’re almost there.”
Song Yanrong put down her phone and looked out the window. They had arrived at a small town on the outskirts.
The place looked like it had been built years ago. There were few households nearby. The two-story building had yellowish-brown streaks on its white exterior walls, like rust or muddy water stains.
High walls surrounded the house, blocking out sunlight like it feared exposure.
Just as they approached the entrance, a dog started barking loudly.
Xiao K stepped forward and knocked on the door. After a moment, a voice from inside asked: “Who is it?”
An emaciated and weathered-looking woman opened the door.
Her eyes lit up when she recognized them. She beamed with surprise and joy at Song Yanrong:
“Well, if it isn’t the third Miss Song! Come in, come in! And Jia Jia’s back too? Haven’t seen you in so long—I’ve missed you!”
As she spoke, her eyes scanned Song Yanrong up and down like a rolling pin.
Su Jia pushed Song Yanrong inside in her wheelchair, but just then, a black mutt came running out from inside, barking aggressively.
A startled cry sounded behind them.
On instinct, Su Jia reached out protectively behind her.
Su Minhui quickly shouted at the dog:
“Stupid mutt! What are you barking at? Don’t you know we’ve got guests?! You scared Jia Jia again!”
Again? Had Su Jia been frightened by the dog before?
Song Yanrong narrowed her eyes slightly and looked up at Su Jia. That beautiful face was pale with fright.
She backed up her wheelchair by a step and gently took hold of Su Jia’s wrist.
“Don’t be afraid.”
