Transmigrated as the Doomed Scumbag Alpha of the Eldest Princess (GL , ABO) - Chapter 26
Because of the incense, the two of them were like magnets, instantly drawn to each other. When Mowan Ci’s face came into focus, Jiang Si felt slightly dazed. Was this how she looked to Mowan Ci as well?
Perhaps she was not even as reserved as Mowan Ci.
She could not even lift her eyes to look at her.
“Princess…” Jiang Si mumbled softly, calling out to Mowan Ci. Only then did Mowan Ci raise her head, but just for a brief moment before turning away again.
Jiang Si could not guess what Mowan Ci was thinking, and she dared not act rashly.
Yet Mowan Ci seemed even more silent and unsure than she was. In the end, it was Jiang Si who reached out and gently grabbed Mowan Ci’s wrist.
That single touch brought with it a feeling she had never experienced before.
Their eyes met, and in each other’s gaze was a silent, indescribable tension.
Jiang Si applied a little strength. Mowan Ci’s faint resistance meant little, and she allowed herself to be pulled gently into the room.
Lan Shao had only said that the two should stay together, without specifying what they were to do.
Inside the room, Jiang Si looked around before guiding Mowan Ci toward the bed. She intended to sit in the chair beside it.
However, this action might have given Mowan Ci the wrong idea. The hand that was held stiffened slightly, her mind overwhelmed by countless thoughts and possibilities.
Eventually, Jiang Si let go of her hand and sat in the nearby chair.
Mowan Ci lifted her eyes to look at her and, surprisingly, felt a trace of reluctance in her heart.
It was faint but left her feeling unsettled.
She had never felt this way toward anyone before. Other than the unfamiliarity, there was a hint of discomfort. She no longer wanted to look directly at Jiang Si.
They sat quietly for a long time. Eventually, Jiang Si spoke, trying to find something to say.
“Princess, are you hungry?”
Mowan Ci had been resting with her eyes closed. She slowly opened them at Jiang Si’s question. After blinking a few times to regain her focus, she replied in her usual calm tone, “I am not hungry.”
“I am. I want to go get something to eat,” Jiang Si said honestly. Mowan Ci’s gaze shifted slightly but she remained silent.
Jiang Si had grown tired of the food at the residence. It had been especially bland over the past few days. She was craving something meaty and spicy.
The guards outside were servants of the marquis’ household. Jiang Si gave a quick instruction to have some spicy food prepared and waited with anticipation.
She did not expect to receive a bowl of plain noodle soup instead.
The servant bowed respectfully and said, “My Lord, Military Physician Lan instructed that both you and the Princess should eat lightly.”
“Alright…” Jiang Si had no choice. She accepted the clear soup noodles and silently vowed that once all of this was over, she would reward herself with a proper meal.
Ideally, a plate of spicy poached beef slices to satisfy her cravings.
The very thought made her mouth water. But when she looked down at the plain broth with two lonely leaves of vegetable floating on top, she almost wanted to cry.
Mowan Ci, on the other hand, accepted it with elegance. She ate slowly and calmly, as if enjoying a fine delicacy.
“Princess, do you think it tastes good?” Jiang Si asked after poking at her noodles a few times.
Mowan Ci paused and looked at her with a slight frown.
“One should not speak while eating.”
Jiang Si was taken aback. She closed her mouth and began eating quietly.
The taste was average at best. It served only to fill the stomach.
After finishing the noodles, Jiang Si felt sleepy very quickly. The room was especially warm, and before long she was leaning back in the chair, fast asleep.
She did not wake until the strong scent of snow lotus filled the room.
Rubbing her eyes, she looked outside into the darkness, then turned to Mowan Ci, who was half-lying on the bed.
It must have been too warm. Mowan Ci’s collar had come slightly loose, revealing part of her shoulder.
The fragrance was sweet, and everything she saw seemed tinged with that sweetness.
Jiang Si gripped the chair tightly, trying to resist the powerful attraction.
But Lan Shao’s words echoed in her mind.
“There is a destined attraction between Qianyuan and Kunze. Others might be able to bear it, but if one of you enters the Rain and Dew phase, it will be extremely difficult. If you do not wish to go all the way, you must still find a way to comfort each other.”
Jiang Si could not be sure what Mowan Ci’s Rain and Dew phase would look like, but this seemed very likely to be it.
The scent of snow lotus had grown so strong that it masked her own pheromone entirely. Mowan Ci looked like she was struggling to endure.
Their reactions were entirely different. Jiang Si’s signal scent was unstable and scattered, while Mowan Ci easily entered the Rain and Dew phase.
As a result, the incense had little physical effect on Jiang Si.
But the emotional impact was overwhelming. Seeing Mowan Ci like this pierced her heart like a thorn, and it reminded her of the moment she had been drugged.
Jiang Si was still able to move freely. In a few steps, she reached the bedside. Taking a deep breath, she looked at Mowan Ci, whose face was flushed and eyes were hazy.
“Hold on. I will help you.”
Mowan Ci’s reactions were already slow. Even raising her eyes to look at Jiang Si took longer than usual.
Her gaze was misty and soft.
So soft it was almost unreal.
Jiang Si found her courage. She placed one knee on the edge of the bed. Mowan Ci blinked slowly, then reached out and gently hooked her arm around Jiang Si’s neck.
Jiang Si did not know if it was her pheromones that affected Mowan Ci more, or if Mowan Ci was simply more daring.
But as she was pulled in close, that thought was all she could think about.
As she lowered herself, Jiang Si’s lips unintentionally brushed against Mowan Ci’s neck.
The skin felt warm and soft, and the touch made Mowan Ci let out a soft moan.
The sound was sweet to the point of cloying, completely unlike something Mowan Ci would normally make.
Jiang Si held herself up with one hand against the bed, not daring to move even an inch. It was Mowan Ci who reached up with force, pulling her down so their bodies were pressed tightly together.
It didn’t matter how Jiang Si reacted. Mowan Ci was acting purely on instinct, drawn to this person’s presence.
She was different from the figure in her dreams.
There was heat, but no aggression.
It was the kind of warmth that made her melt, turning into a puddle in someone’s arms.
“Jiang Si,” Mowan Ci whispered, “if you were to have me, what would you do in the future?”
“What…?”
The words had been spoken so close to her ear that Jiang Si could not have misheard them. She turned her head, her cheek nearly touching Mowan Ci’s, and stared at her in disbelief.
“Would you rebel?” Mowan Ci asked, her gaze fixed on Jiang Si.
Ever since arriving here, Jiang Si had never really considered that question. All she had wanted was to enjoy power and luxury like a self-made emperor in the northern territories.
So when Mowan Ci asked her so directly, Jiang Si was stunned. Her mind struggled to catch up.
But in the next moment, she felt a sudden softness against her lips.
Her eyes widened slightly as she looked at Mowan Ci beneath her, shocked.
Mowan Ci’s hands were already wrapped around her neck. The wound at the back of Jiang Si’s neck from a few days ago still ached faintly, and the friction made the pain even sharper.
But the softness in front of her was far more distracting.
Jiang Si felt her bl00d rushing and her heartbeat speeding up.
She could not hide the surprise in her eyes. Worse still, Mowan Ci leaned in even closer, her lips grazing the corner of Jiang Si’s mouth.
When she smiled, her eyes were filled with a captivating charm.
“Princess…” Jiang Si whispered.
“Jiang Si, you still haven’t answered my question.”
The affectionate tone made Jiang Si’s ears tingle. Before she could respond, Mowan Ci asked again, this time with a seriousness that was hard to ignore.
“Would you rebel?”
This time, her voice carried a weight that was very different from before.
Jiang Si calmed down and looked at her closely.
Yue Kingdom had always been ruled by the Mowan clan. And now, the Princess Royal Mowan Ci was asking her, a borderland military marquis, whether she would rebel?
Jiang Si suddenly realized that this might be the path things were destined to take. The fate of Yue was already weakening. If not her, then someone else would eventually rise.
Perhaps Mowan Ci herself had already begun to think the same.
While Jiang Si remained silent, Mowan Ci continued to watch her. Her hands slowly relaxed and no longer moved.
After thinking it through, Jiang Si placed her hands on Mowan Ci’s waist and shoulder, leaned in close, and asked in a quiet voice,
“Is Her Highness asking me to rebel, or planning to do so herself?”
“There is no difference,” Mowan Ci replied.
