Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha of a Cold Movie Queen - Chapter 19
Gu Qing had never really taken the time to savor this scent before—sweet and tangy, fresh and comforting.
Maybe it was the calming effect of the scent, or maybe it was the bandages on Qi Siyu’s hands that softened her heart, but she didn’t push away the arm draped over her. She allowed that faintly burning warmth to seep through the thin fabric between them.
Qi Siyu, for her part, lay stiff as a board, terrified to move even an inch. It wasn’t until a peaceful half hour had passed without incident that she finally let out a breath of relief and slipped into a deep sleep.
At 7 a.m., the buzzing of a phone hidden under the pillow roused her.
She wasn’t fully awake, but her body moved on instinct—like she’d practiced it a hundred times before—turning off the alarm, gently retracting her arm, tucking Gu Qing in, and rolling back to her folding bed to pull the covers over herself.
Qi Siyu had deliberately set an early alarm to avoid being caught. With that thought weighing heavily on her mind, her movements were particularly swift—if somewhat dreamlike, thanks to the lack of sleep the night before.
It wasn’t until 11 a.m. that she woke up properly.
“You really can sleep. Are you secretly a pig?” As soon as she sat up, Qi Siyu was greeted by Gu Xiaoling’s snark.
“Hey! I protected Gu Qing last night and ran around with the police for her too, you know!” Qi Siyu protested loudly.
“Hah. And whose fault was it that Sister Gu’s location got leaked in the first place? Isn’t this all self-inflicted?” Though Gu Xiaoling didn’t have much formal education, she had razor-sharp clarity and always cut straight to the point.
Qi Siyu had no comeback for that. With the original host’s sins looming large, she changed the subject. “So… what are we packing up for?”
“Discharge,” Gu Qing answered plainly.
“Yep! Now that so many people know where we are, more will come looking. We’re heading home!” Gu Xiaoling said with obvious excitement—she hated hospitals.
Ah, just what I was thinking too. Qi Siyu beamed. “Great! Let’s get moving then. I’ll go wash up.”
Locking the bathroom door behind her, she opened the system to draw her rewards. Originally, she had calculated that from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., she could get 16 lottery pulls. Combined with leftover spins from the day before, she would have reached 30. But last night’s chaos had slashed her total in half.
Tonight, she’d have to make up for it—especially to get more YuanKang powder to heal her hands. These nightly cuddle missions were really starting to test her limits.
Despite knowing her streak of bad luck, Qi Siyu still harbored hope. At the very least, she prayed to draw more Hair Growth Pills.
And it seemed the heavens finally heard her prayers: in addition to the standard gland repair serum and YuanKang powder, she actually scored three whole bottles of Hair Growth Pills!
Three!!
Qi Siyu inhaled deeply, her face flushed with excitement.
She stuffed some wet tissues into the system’s backpack for good luck and lovingly caressed the pill bottles.
Sponge up that lucky aura~
When she emerged, Gu Xiaoling shouted, “Hurry up and eat your breakfast. I can’t even clear the table until you’re done.”
Qi Siyu’s eyes lit up when she saw a basket of soup dumplings and a bowl of pork rib soup waiting on the table.
“Gu Qing, thank you!” she called toward the bed, then added, “And, uh, thanks to you too.”
Gu Xiaoling rolled her eyes but didn’t argue. It was true—if Sister Gu hadn’t asked her to prepare the food, she wouldn’t have bothered.
Qi Siyu popped dumpling after dumpling into her mouth, washing them down with warm soup. Her stomach felt cozy and full.
Especially knowing Gu Qing had told Xiaoling to do it—it made last night’s efforts feel totally worth it.
Gu Xiaoling was quick with her packing, and Gu Qing didn’t have many personal belongings. By the time Qi Siyu finished eating, everything was ready to go.
“Did you file for discharge yet?”
When the answer was no, Qi Siyu got up. “I’ll take care of it—just wait here.”
Though the doctor was curious about Gu Qing’s remarkably fast recovery, as a salaried worker, she wasn’t in a position to do much. She efficiently assisted Qi Siyu in completing the discharge paperwork.
With bodyguards flanking either side, Qi Siyu and Gu Xiaoling wheeled Gu Qing out to the van.
“Yihua Tianfu,” Qi Siyu told the driver. “It’s all private villas, very secluded, and the security patrols around the clock. Super safe.”
Gu Xiaoling muttered under her breath, “The biggest danger’s you.”
Qi Siyu: ……
“Or we could go to Lichunyuan—single units per floor, also with round-the-clock security.”
“Lichunyuan,” Gu Qing said.
Many celebrities lived in Lichunyuan. Compared to an isolated villa on the mountainside, a high-rise with neighbors felt much safer.
In case Qi Siyu ever snapped and tried to kill someone, at least the body would be harder to hide.
“Alright, alright,” Qi Siyu didn’t argue. As long as they weren’t ambushed in the middle of the night again, she was happy.
The building had 36 floors. The property in Lichunyuan had both the top floor and the 35th purchased by the original host to avoid noisy neighbors, even though the soundproofing here was top-notch.
The car drove straight into the underground garage and up to the elevator. Qi Siyu only had two bodyguards help bring the luggage upstairs.
The heavy security door opened to reveal a wide and airy space. The sightline stretched from the entryway through the living room, out past the balcony to the floor-to-ceiling windows. The warm glow of the evening sun filtered through the sheer white curtains and spilled across the floor in golden hues.
“This… this living room must be at least 80 square meters,” Gu Xiaoling muttered in disbelief.
“More or less. The whole place is over 500,” Qi Siyu replied, recalling it clearly.
After all, in the original novel, this was Gu Qing’s home. The author described her standing at the window enjoying the night view—while the original host got bitten by a dog in a nearby alley. The barking could even be heard from up here.
Qi Siyu shuddered and shook off the morbid thought. No way I’m ending up that miserable.
“There should be one master bedroom and five guest rooms. Gu Xiaoling, pick whichever one you want.” Qi Siyu pushed Gu Qing’s wheelchair toward the master suite.
“Wait!” Gu Xiaoling spread her arms to block her. “Sister Gu’s sleeping with me. I’m taking care of her!”
Qi Siyu: ?
Absolutely not!
“We—we—we’re a legal AO!”
