- Chapter 26 - Only for This Person
Gu Qing withdrew her gaze. Whatever Qi Siyu was thinking had nothing to do with her.
She focused on the sea of concerned and supportive comments on the screen. Moved, she said warmly, “Thank you, everyone. I’m holding up fine. Due to health reasons, the show has allowed me to bring along an assistant.”
“Hello, everyone. You can call me Xiao Qi. I’ll be looking after Miss Gu during filming,” Qi Siyu introduced herself on camera. “They’re asking why you chose to film a variety show instead of resting.” She paraphrased the audience’s question, even though she knew Gu Qing could see the comments herself—it would be better if the explanation came from her.
“I can’t afford the breach-of-contract penalty,” Gu Qing said, her voice slightly unsteady. “All I can say is that I wasn’t fully informed when I signed the deal.”
Fans who knew her well could easily imagine the frustration and helplessness behind her composed words.
“They’re also asking about what your former agent exposed,” Qi Siyu continued, this time answering directly, “The company is still investigating, and they’ve asked Gu Qing not to make any public statements. She has been focusing on recovery, so we’ve shielded her from the online drama as much as possible.”
“Please be patient. The company will give both Gu Qing and all of you a proper explanation.”
Qi Siyu glanced at the live viewership count—it had already hit five million and was still climbing.
Gao Zhonghai’s eye for talent was sharp. Gu Qing had always been popular, and now with the added scandal and serious injury, her reappearance in the public eye was guaranteed to explode in popularity.
This was the perfect opportunity—handled well, the negative press could be reversed, and her career could climb even higher. Thanks to the system, of course. All of this was predicated on the fact that Gu Qing was truly recovering, not being forced back into the spotlight with heavy medication.
“Alright,” Gu Qing rasped softly. “Now we need to choose a mode of transport.”
Qi Siyu explained the available options to the audience. “A luxury RV costs 10 Leisure Coins, a standard car is 5, a tricycle is 3, and a bicycle is 1.”
“Gu Qing earned 10 Leisure Coins in the previous luggage-checking segment, but since we don’t know how expensive things are in the show, we decided to go with the more economical tricycle,” Qi Siyu added.
When the audience started spamming questions about the previous segment, she smiled slyly. “That’s top secret. The show won’t let us say. You’ll find out when it airs.”
She glanced over at the still-flustered other participants, then turned to the host to make their purchase. “We’d like one tricycle, please.”
The host grinned, “A tricycle can only carry one person.”
“If I pedal it myself, can we get a discount?” Qi Siyu bargained.
The host: …
“Nope. You can pedal it yourself, but you’ll have to pay a deposit. If it gets damaged, you’ll be responsible for repairs.”
Qi Siyu clicked her tongue. “Fine, your show’s really out to squeeze every coin.”
She used a drone to film the tricycle from every angle. “Everyone, take a good look, so they can’t accuse us of damaging it later.”
Gu Qing’s expression visibly softened—this version of Qi Siyu was far more entertaining than the old one.
“Ah—” Gu Qing let out a surprised gasp as Qi Siyu effortlessly lifted her and her wheelchair, placing her securely into the tricycle’s cargo seat.
The muscles in Qi Siyu’s arms flexed visibly, and the ease with which she carried both Gu Qing and the wheelchair made it look like she was lifting a sponge.
The host, who had just planned to offer help in exchange for screen time: …
Are all CEO Alphas this strong?
Qi Siyu was naturally strong, but she hadn’t expected this body to be this physically capable too.
“We’ll be heading off first, folks,” Qi Siyu announced coolly as she swung her leg over the tricycle and took her seat.
It wasn’t just Gu Qing’s viewers singing her praises—other livestreams that had accidentally captured her were also buzzing with interest in the stunning and dashing woman.
Jia Junjie was fuming as she watched the barrage of compliments in her own livestream. She tried adjusting the drone angle in frustration, but no matter how she turned it, it looked awful. The janky footage and her sour face quickly drove viewers away.
By the time she got the drone under control, her livestream was nearly empty. Her hands trembled with anger.
Meanwhile, Sun Yingying had decided Qi Siyu must be some newcomer trying to ride Gu Qing’s fame. She turned to the audience, asking them to dig up any background info on her.
Like the others, she chose to bike to the vacation villa.
It wasn’t safe to check her phone while riding, so she only saw the bullet comments after she arrived.
“Did anyone find any info on her yet?” Sun Yingying asked eagerly. “Someone this impressive—even if she’s just a regular person—has to have gone viral online.”
Her compliment was clearly forced.
【LOL, stop calling her Xiao Qi. She’s actually the CEO of an entertainment company.】
【Dead 😂 Qi Siyu is the majority shareholder and president of Heyang Entertainment, and sole heir of the Qi Group…】
【Yingying, hurry up and cling to that golden thigh!】
Sun Yingying stared at the comments, her mind going blank.
She had tried to curry favor with Gu Qing and had low-key snubbed Qi Siyu. But compared to Qi Siyu, what even was Gu Qing? Nothing!
Aaaaagh! Sun Yingying looked like she’d swallowed a lemon. “Wait, if she’s a big-shot CEO, why is she playing assistant?!”
She finally voiced the question that had been bugging everyone, and viewers urged her to investigate.
Speculations flew: maybe Gu Qing felt her scandal had ruined her and had offered herself up to a domineering CEO for a chance at redemption—using her charm to win over Qi Siyu and get her help in clearing her name.
Sun Yingying didn’t care what Gu Qing’s motives were anymore—she just wanted to latch onto Qi Siyu’s golden thigh.
At the very least, she had to stop offending her! Aaaaaaagh!
Thanks to all that drama, Sun Yingying was the last to reach the villa.
She made a beeline for Qi Siyu, plopped down beside her, and gave her a fawning smile.
Qi Siyu looked genuinely puzzled. What’s up with this girl? Don’t tell me she figured out who I am from the audience reactions and changed her attitude that fast?
The host walked in, still all smiles. “Everyone’s biked here, so you must be tired. Feel free to sit down and rest for a bit. I’ll explain the rules in detail—but just a heads-up, the sofas aren’t free!”
To motivate the cast to earn money, the production team had truly gone overboard. Everyone rolled their eyes. The last season wasn’t this extreme.
But for fame—and those juicy final rewards—who could afford to quit now?
“Our team has developed a special app. It’s already installed on the phones I just gave you.”
“On the left is the mission hub. Tasks refresh every hour on the hour. Everyone can take them, but only the first to complete each one gets the Leisure Coin reward. The others get penalized.”
“The center tab is for personalized tasks. You must complete these daily, or face consequences. If viewers donate enough, they can also customize your tasks or punishments.”
“The right tab is your personal center—it shows your coin balance, and gives access to the show’s online store.”
Qi Siyu tapped open Gu Qing’s balance. “What the—negative 140?! Are they deducting everything at once?! We’re in last place already!”
“The director said it’d be more fun if everyone started on even ground, so he deducted all of Miss Gu’s coins,” the host said, covering his mouth as he laughed.
Gu Qing glanced sideways at Qi Siyu, who took a deep breath. “Don’t worry. We’ll earn it all back in no time.”
“Alright.” Gu Qing nodded. She was willing to cooperate—with this version of Qi Siyu.
Only with this one.
