Transmigrated as the Scumbag Alpha of a Cold Movie Queen - Chapter 7
A strange ripple stirred in Gu Qing’s heart—odd, too odd.
Qi Siyu was acting… peculiar. Was she being cute right now?
No matter how much she used to fake gentleness and approachability, that innate arrogance and pride always seeped through.
Gu Qing gave Qi Siyu a long, searching look, then opened her mouth and took a sip of water—using action to show her stance.
Qi Siyu smugly tilted her head toward Gu Xiaoling, shooting her a glance and even letting out a light hum of satisfaction.
“I’m sorry for the misunderstanding!” Gu Xiaoling bowed in apology, acknowledging her mistake. “I’ll go get you breakfast.”
She was deeply embarrassed—she hadn’t expected Qi Siyu, the usual troublemaker, to behave this time.
Still, she had no regrets. She couldn’t allow Qi Siyu even a sliver of opportunity to hurt Gu Qing.
Just as Qi Siyu opened her mouth to speak, Gu Xiaoling had already dashed off.
“Hey! I want the wonton and soup dumplings from the stall downstairs!”
As she turned back, she caught the flicker of confusion in Gu Qing’s eyes.
“What is it?” Qi Siyu asked.
“You eat street food?” Gu Qing’s tone was laced with disbelief.
She remembered once bringing home some barbecue from a street vendor. It hadn’t even been unpacked before Qi Siyu had tossed it straight into the trash, scoffing that only garbage would eat street food.
“Yeah,” Qi Siyu said with a lick of her lips, recalling the flavor. “I had a bowl yesterday. The wonton skin’s thin, the filling’s generous, seasoning’s on point. Tastes amazing.”
Gu Qing didn’t respond immediately, her gaze drifting to the bandaged hand resting on her lap.
She hadn’t woken up last night and didn’t know what had happened—but her hand felt a lot better.
After drinking most of that warm water, her whole body now felt relaxed and cozy. Even the persistent pain she’d been dealing with since waking had dulled.
Especially her leg—yesterday, the pain had already noticeably subsided, and today it felt even better.
It was like her body was healing too quickly.
Not a good sign. Gu Qing began to suspect Qi Siyu might have used some kind of illegal medication. Otherwise, how could the effect be so immediate?
“That’s enough.” Gu Qing set the cup aside after drinking more than half.
“Okay.” Qi Siyu obediently picked up the cup and chugged the rest in one go.
She had only taken a small sip earlier, and this portion wasn’t enough to make a difference anyway. When Gu Qing wanted more water later, she’d just mix another dose of YuanKang powder.
Gu Qing gave the tiny pool of leftover water at the bottom of the glass a brief glance before shifting her attention away.
The room fell back into silence.
Soon, Gu Xiaoling returned, carrying breakfast—wontons, soup dumplings, tofu pudding, fried dough sticks, and more.
The smell of food quickly filled the entire room.
Qi Siyu walked over eagerly to grab it—only to see that Gu Xiaoling had brought someone with her.
A woman of average height, maybe around 160 cm.
“Hello, President Qi. I’m Gao Li, Gu Qing’s childhood friend,” the woman said with a bright smile, placing two bags of fruit on the table. “I ran into Xiaoling outside and heard Gu Qing had woken up, so I came to visit.”
Qi Siyu’s eyes didn’t leave Gu Qing.
The moment Gu Qing saw Gao Li, her entire demeanor softened.
It was obvious: she trusted Gao Li.
Even more than she did Gu Xiaoling.
In the original novel, their relationship had always been close—even though Gao Li was a Beta, many readers shipped them as a CP.
When will Gu Qing ever look at me like that…
Qi Siyu felt a pang of jealousy—like a lemon spirit incarnate.
“Nice to meet you. I’ll leave you two to chat. I’ll eat over here.”
Qi Siyu sweetly gave them space, shrinking into the corner of the couch to eat her breakfast.
Gu Xiaoling went to get Gu Qing’s food from the caregiver.
“Thanks,” Gao Li said with a smile—but her eyes were cold.
As Gu Qing’s childhood friend, she knew the real Qi Siyu and had absolutely no goodwill toward her.
But at the moment, neither of them had the standing to directly confront Qi Siyu, so they could only bide their time and act civil.
Qi Siyu claimed to be eating, but her eyes never left Gu Qing.
Gu Qing could feel that gaze—it was like it had temperature. It made the glands at the nape of her neck tingle with a strange heat.
“Sit here,” Gu Qing said to Gao Li, positioning her to block Qi Siyu’s line of sight.
Qi Siyu pouted, displeased, and bit into a wonton with a vengeance—left with nothing but eavesdropping.
But Gao Li and Gu Qing whispered. Qi Siyu kept inching closer, but still couldn’t hear a word.
All she could see was Gao Li showing something to Gu Qing on her phone.
Then, finally—
“Well, I’ll come back in a few days to check on you. Get some rest.”
Gao Li stood and turned—only to find Qi Siyu right there, barely a meter away.
“Ahh—!”
Crash—!
Startled, Gao Li accidentally knocked a glass cup off the bedside table.
“President Qi, what are you doing there? You scared me to death!” Gao Li clutched her chest, trying to calm her racing heart.
Qi Siyu gave an awkward laugh and scrambled for an excuse.
“Uh, I was just gonna wash the cup.”
“Oh, sorry! I broke it. I’ll clean it up.”
Gao Li quickly took out a thick plastic bag from her pocket and started picking up the larger shards of glass.
Qi Siyu hadn’t even gotten close before Gao Li had already gathered most of the pieces.
“I’ll get a broom to sweep up the rest,” Qi Siyu said and headed toward the bathroom.
As soon as she was out of sight, Gao Li lowered her voice.
“Sis, that leftover water should be enough for testing. I’ll have Xiaoling send you the results once we have them.”
“No,” Gu Qing said calmly. “You come back and tell me yourself.”
She suspected there really was something in that water—possibly even a banned substance.
Xiaoling was still too young and might not be able to handle it discreetly.
Originally, she’d called Gao Li over just to reassure her about the rumors online.
She hadn’t expected Qi Siyu to pull something like this.
Now her entire body felt warm, relaxed—like she was floating on clouds.
That water was definitely not normal.
“Okay,” Gao Li said, also beginning to worry. “I’ll get the results ASAP. I’ll head out now.”
“Mm.” Gu Qing exhaled slowly, hoping this wouldn’t turn out too badly.
“Eh? She’s gone?”
Qi Siyu came out and looked around.
“She’s busy,” Gu Qing replied flatly, then closed her eyes to rest.
Even she didn’t realize that her body had subtly tensed again.
Qi Siyu sighed inwardly.
Not seeing any obvious shards on the floor, she swept the entire room just to be safe.
Returning to her breakfast, Qi Siyu found her appetite had dimmed a bit—but not enough to stop eating.
Food above all else.
After polishing off the wontons, she popped a reddish-brown pastry into her mouth.
Crispy. Sweet. Delicious.
It tasted like chocolate, surprisingly refined—on par with gourmet chocolate she’d had before.
Right then, Gu Xiaoling returned with Gu Qing’s breakfast. Qi Siyu asked,
“Where’d you get this chocolate pastry? It’s really good.”
“Huh? That’s brown sugar cake,” Gu Xiaoling replied, puzzled. She grabbed one and took a bite. “Yeah, it’s just brown sugar. The flavor’s pretty mild.”
As a Beta, she couldn’t smell pheromones.
“Then that chocolate taste must be…”
Qi Siyu slowly turned to look at Gu Qing.
Her face looked a little flushed.
No way—is she going into heat again?!
Qi Siyu’s heart dropped. She remembered how, after that temporary mark last time, she’d felt an overwhelming urge to possess Gu Qing—an intensity that hadn’t fully gone away even now.
She shuddered.
If this keeps happening… she’s not gonna survive it.
