“You’re taking tomorrow off, right?” Jiang Nian pressed her face against Gu Li’s collarbone. Her warm breath landed softly near Gu Li’s heart as she spoke.

Their daily ten-minute “recharge time” was once again taking place in the back seat of the car.

Gu Li wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but she kept feeling like Jiang Nian’s hands behind her were lightly tracing something against her back. “I’m just lending it to you. When I return to school, you can give it back. Then we can go back to using the original version of me as your personal hug partner.”
