Transmigrated Before the Scum A Tortured the Female Lead (GL) - Chapter 23
Xu Jinzhao opened her umbrella and left without looking back.
The brand-new Rolls-Royce SUV was parked in the garage. Xu Jinzhao got into the driver’s seat, put the umbrella aside, and sent a text message to Song Jiao.
[The car keys are in the hallway.]
She looked up at the continuous rain under the gray sky, seeing that it wouldn’t stop for a while, and typed on the keyboard again:
[There are umbrellas in the storage room on the first floor.]
Just as her finger touched the send button, Xu Jinzhao received a reply.
Song Jiao: [Okay.]
Xu Jinzhao thought it would end there, but as soon as she turned off the screen, it lit up again with a text message notification.
She unlocked her phone and saw that the Omega had sent a miniature pixel smiley face.
This was clearly a reply to her second text message.
Xu Jinzhao stared at the cute smiley face for a while, scrolling up to view the text message history between [Xu Jinzhao] and Song Jiao.
There weren’t many text messages, most of which were [Xu Jinzhao]’s forceful notifications and orders. Song Jiao rarely replied, let alone used emoticons.
Xu Jinzhao felt a little happy and satisfied again, and a smile returned to her face.
The company’s headquarters was in the North Shore, where Xu’s had built an office building.
The license plate of this new car was of course not entered into the internal parking system, but her face was the pass. Xu Jinzhao parked the car and took the elevator directly to the top floor.
The huge Xu’s building’s top floor was only used by Xu Boyang and his assistant team.
Apart from the office area, the rest was planned for his private leisure.
[Xu Jinzhao] was one of Xu Boyang’s assistants and had her own small office here.
Unlike other assistants, she, as the heir, was taken by Xu Boyang to handle various affairs and was not responsible for miscellaneous tasks.
Xu Jinzhao entered the top floor, and Qi Yao was instructing another employee on work.
He waved the other person away and came forward to say, “Mr. Xu asked you to go directly to his office.”
Xu Jinzhao asked Qi Yao, “Did you send the Omega inhibitor?”
“I sent Xiao Zhang.” Qi Yao replied, lowering his voice, “Mr. Xu is not very happy… because of the inhibitor.”

Song Jiao took the medicine box containing the inhibitor injection and let Assistant Zhang and the monitoring equipment installers in.
Assistant Zhang’s attitude towards her was extremely respectful.
“The inhibitor is room temperature, and I will arrange for someone to deliver it every other day for the next week. Please remember to pick it up and replace it in time.”
The production process of Omega heat symptom relief inhibitors is very complex, and they are generally divided into refrigerated and room temperature agents according to storage requirements.*
Refrigerated agents have high requirements for storage temperature range and have a relatively long shelf life; room temperature agents have no special requirements for storage environment, do not require refrigeration, but have a very short shelf life.
Song Jiao’s heat was about to break out in a week. She didn’t prepare the inhibitor injections so early in the past, but just carried some oral medicine and spray.
After all, portable room temperature agents expire in five days at most, and will deteriorate if not used, which is a considerable expense.
Song Jiao put the inhibitor box into her bag and said, “Thank you, I have to go out. You can do what you need to do.”
She didn’t know Assistant Zhang, but she knew Assistant Qi, and the people he sent wouldn’t make mistakes.
Song Jiao took the Audi car keys from the hallway. The overcast rain had stopped outside, but she still took the umbrella she found in the storage room.
The space for the Rolls-Royce SUV in the garage was empty, presumably taken by Xu Jinzhao.
After getting in the car, she didn’t start it immediately, but took out the inhibitor box.
Two pre-filled syringes with dark golden liquid were embedded in the transparent PVC box, and the outside of the packaging box was a layer of complete plastic seal with the pharmaceutical company’s logo.
The Omega looked at it for a long time.
Song Jiao first went to the bank to transfer living expenses to Song Yikang’s in-prison consumption card account.
Then she went to the mall to buy clothes, shoes, and socks for her father to wear in autumn, as well as warm knee pads, and also selected a few harmless books in the bookstore, packing them all into the trunk.
Song Yikang was serving his sentence in the provincial capital’s East City Prison. The scheduled visiting time was from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
It was still early, so Song Jiao sent a text message to an acquaintance, asking for a reliable drug testing agency.
The other person quickly sent her the relevant address and phone number. Song Jiao copied the number to the dial bar.
“I want to do a composition test on the inhibitor. Do you provide this service?”

Xu Jinzhao was left hanging by Xu Boyang for five hours.
At first, she asked if there was any work she could help with, trying to ease the atmosphere, but Xu Boyang just said coldly “no need” and told Xu Jinzhao to wait aside.
So she could only sit awkwardly in the office.
Xu Boyang kept flipping through documents, clicking the mouse, typing on the keyboard, and answering phone calls. Qi Yao occasionally brought in new folders and reported some things.
The office was busy inside and out, and only Xu Jinzhao was like an awkward outsider isolated from the world.
Xu Jinzhao gradually understood that Xu Boyang was teaching her a lesson by leaving her out in the cold, putting psychological pressure on her.
The old Alpha’s approach was undoubtedly successful. Even though Xu Jinzhao knew this was his deliberate tactic, she couldn’t really relax in this environment.
Until nearly 3 PM, Xu Boyang seemed to suddenly remember his daughter and lunch.
He rang the bell for someone to deliver food and greeted Xu Jinzhao warmly.
In this atmosphere, eating was torture. Xu Jinzhao almost numbly stuffed food into her mouth.
The Xu Boyang opposite seemed unaware of his daughter’s reluctance and dragged out the meal for nearly half an hour.
Since the father hadn’t finished eating, Xu Jinzhao had to accompany him. She felt that her face was about to be stiff from smiling, and Xu Boyang finally got to the point.
“Since you have made a decision about Song Jiao’s matter, I won’t interfere. But you have to control the extent of her freedom. Don’t give her too much freedom, lest she become too wild.”
Xu Jinzhao responded in a low voice.
Xu Boyang said again, “Qin Lingyue is worth building a good relationship with, but you don’t have to be close friends. She’s just a Beta.”
His last sentence was full of contempt.
Xu Jinzhao wasn’t surprised that the other person knew her movements. Xu Boyang was such a controlling and arrogant person that he didn’t hide it at all.
Xu Boyang stared closely at his daughter, saw her obedient nod, and there was no sign of rebellion in her expression, and then he smiled.
He leaned back in the leather chair and really softened his tone.
“You’re not a child anymore, it’s good to have your own ideas, but Dad doesn’t want you to be foolish because of an Omega. I’ve seen many Alphas like this, but no one looks up to them.”
••••
The clothes and books Song Jiao brought were inspected by the police and handed to Song Yikang.
She found that every time she saw her father, he was older and more haggard than the last time.
Song Yikang’s hair was shaved close to his scalp, leaving only a short layer of gray and white stubble.
He wore a prison uniform and jacket, took the package his daughter brought, hugged it tightly, and then couldn’t wait to pick up the receiver.
Song Jiao said through the glass wall, “I’m here to see you.”
The skin on Song Yikang’s face was very wrinkled, and he was thin. But his eyes were extremely bright, as if all his life had been condensed in them.
He had thousands of words to say to his daughter, but in the end, he only asked one question: “Did you have lunch?”
Song Jiao said, “I did. I’m fine. I’ve had a good appetite recently.”
Song Yikang smiled and said, “Dad is also fine. The cafeteria had stew today.”
Song Jiao asked, “Are your legs hurting a lot? I bought knee pads. The medicine is not easy to bring in, so I put money in your account. Buy medicine at the clinic if you feel uncomfortable.”
Song Yikang hurriedly unpacked the package, found the knee pads, held them in his hand and couldn’t bear to let go, and didn’t forget to argue.
“I usually do sewing, my knees are better than last year.”
Song Jiao knew he was lying, but didn’t expose him.
Song Yikang asked her again”Is that little Alpha from the Xu family still bothering you?”
His eyes were no longer warm when he said this, but revealed hatred and sternness.
Song Yikang in prison didn’t know that his daughter had married Xu Jinzhao a few days ago to save his life.
“Yes.” Song Jiao’s expression didn’t change, her left hand covering the pocket where the wedding ring was hidden.
But she added, as if possessed, “She’s changed a lot recently, not as bossy as before.”
Honestly, Song Jiao found the current Xu Jinzhao very easy to get along with.
Song Yikang’s expression changed immediately, looking at his daughter almost in panic.
He leaned closer to the glass, urging, “Jiao Jiao, don’t be fooled! I know the Xu family very well. They’re all the same, young and old. Their Alphas are definitely not good matches.”
Song Yikang’s words weren’t false. In fact, Song Jiao knew this better than him.
But she couldn’t make her father see Xu Jinzhao’s changes with just words. After all, even Song Jiao herself didn’t understand why the Alpha had changed her personality overnight.
Song Jiao was willing to believe the current Xu Jinzhao for the time being, but she couldn’t force Song Yikang to believe it too.
Moreover, it was easy to foresee that if she really said what she was thinking, her father would definitely think she had been brainwashed by the Xu family.
Song Jiao knew this very well and immediately said, “Of course, I know. I don’t plan to get married.”
The last sentence was sincere.
Song Yikang relaxed, his back looking even more hunched.
The brief excitement seemed to drain his strength, and he didn’t speak for a long time. Only his faint breathing could be heard in the receiver.
The wide striped prison uniform covered the thin body of this man, this father. He finally murmured:
“Jiao Jiao, wait for Dad… wait for Dad.”
Song Jiao responded softly, “I’m waiting.”
Even though she knew that Song Yikang couldn’t change anything even if he was released from prison, she still had to give her father some hope.
Just because she, an anomaly, could survive in a vacuum didn’t mean others could.
An autumn rain took away the half-month-long hot weather. The sky cleared, but puddles remained on the ground.
Song Jiao came out of the East City Prison. She rarely had time to herself, so she drove slowly along the ring road.
It was almost evening. She parked the car by the Cang River, got out and strolled on the dam, facing the free wind.
Song Jiao walked far away and gradually felt cold.
When she returned to the car, she found three missed calls from Xu Jinzhao on her phone.
After calling back, the busy tone rang for a long time, and the call was connected a second before it automatically hung up.
Song Jiao asked, “What’s wrong? I saw you called three times.”
She had imagined several scenarios, but the reply was the Alpha’s sobbing voice, filled with drunkenness.
“I’m so cold, Song Jiao. I don’t know who to tell. I’m really cold.”
Song Jiao’s back straightened unconsciously. “Where are you?”
The other end of the phone was the Alpha’s vague mutterings. Song Jiao asked again, and the other side seemed to understand her question.
“At home, our home. Alas, I’m so cold, but I can only tell you…”
The Alpha repeated the last words, her voice dazed and hoarse, with a pitiful nasal tone.
“I’m coming home,” Song Jiao turned on the speakerphone. “You don’t need to hang up. I have something to tell you too.”
She started the car, thinking about what to say to this not-so-well drunkard, and coaxed softly:
“You won’t be cold when I get home.”
