Transmigrated Before the Scum A Tortured the Female Lead (GL) - Chapter 6
After Xu Jinzhao resumed her old ways, Song Jiao’s hanging heart finally relaxed.
This didn’t mean that she was more used to being treated rudely and domineeringly, but rather that she finally understood the other person’s weaknesses and could prescribe the right remedy.
Xu Jinzhao’s previous gentle demeanor was too abnormal. Song Jiao wasn’t a naive and easily fooled girl. She didn’t believe that someone could suddenly change overnight. She believed that old habits die hard.
Her long-term experience also told her that any kindness and tolerance shown to her had ulterior motives.
The sweeter the candy fed to her mouth, the greater the price she would have to pay.
Last night’s incident made Song Jiao realize that Xu Jinzhao’s patience wasn’t as great as she had imagined, not enough to allow her to continue delaying and being perfunctory with the old methods. It was time to change her tactics.
She needed to show a softened attitude and the kind of fragile delicacy that Alphas usually liked, satisfying the other person’s desire to conquer while arousing their affection and guilt.
Song Jiao lowered her head and said to Xu Jinzhao in a low voice:
“We clearly agreed before that we wouldn’t consider these things until I graduated… You scared me yesterday. I was terrified. I couldn’t do anything, and I’m still scared…”
The dagger fell silently onto the carpet, and Song Jiao trembled as she covered her face with her hands.
These words weren’t all lies. She was indeed afraid, but more than that, there was hatred and a desire for revenge surging in her veins. She couldn’t even tell which emotion was dominant, controlling the trembling of her body.
Xu Jinzhao was silent for a moment. Reason told her that the clever Song Jiao was probably pretending right now, trying to buy herself some time to breathe, and that she shouldn’t take it to heart.
But the Omega’s painful and helpless performance was too real and moving, pulling her emotions down.
If it were the original owner, that scum, facing her wife’s seemingly weakened performance, she would have felt a little guilty and soft-hearted. It was only natural for her attitude to soften, Xu Jinzhao thought.
Thinking that she didn’t have to play the domineering Alpha and rant at Song Jiao anymore, she finally felt relieved.
“I lost my head last night. I won’t do it again. Don’t worry. If you really want to, I’ll take you to school tomorrow.” Xu Jinzhao comforted Song Jiao. “I… have to go to the old house. You rest at home.”
Xu Jinzhao originally wanted to mention the pot of hot porridge in the kitchen downstairs. She was quite confident in her cooking skills, and it tasted quite good.
But considering that the victim might not want to eat anything made by the [abuser], she changed her mind.
But she couldn’t help but add, “Eat well.”
How could she be so light, like a kitten, that she could easily pick her up last night?
With such a delicate body, how could she withstand the storms of this world?
Xu Jinzhao was worried and turned to leave the room.
The delicate kitten in her heart, however, immediately picked up the dagger on the ground after confirming that the footsteps had faded away, tiptoed to the door, carefully peeked out, and gently closed the door.
Then Song Jiao solemnly hid her self-defense weapon again, her eyes flashing with a sharp light.
Returning to her bedroom, Xu Jinzhao opened the closet, preparing to change into decent clothes to see Xu Boyang.
Her own biological father had a very good temper, was very much in love with her mother, and completely stopped controlling their daughter after Xu Jinzhao came of age, flying around the world.
But [Xu Jinzhao]’s father, Xu Boyang, had an extremely extreme personality, a cold style, and was a complete Alpha chauvinist.
He firmly believed in the superiority of the Alpha gender and had an almost perverted desire for control, including over his Alpha daughter.
The original owner’s pursuit of Song Jiao was essentially with Xu father’s tacit approval. If Xu Boyang disagreed, [Xu Jinzhao] would have had no chance to go crazy at Song Jiao. She would have been locked up by her father long ago.
When she confided her troubles to her father, complaining that Song Jiao refused to honor their marriage agreement, Xu Boyang reprimanded her for being weak and overly lenient, saying:
“Omegas tend to become wild if they stay outside for too long. You just need to discipline them to bring them back to their senses.”
[Xu Jinzhao] suddenly realized that she could use the safety of Song Jiao’s father in prison as a means of coercion to force Song Jiao to get a marriage certificate with her and solidify the marriage.
Xu Jinzhao was really disgusted by Xu Boyang’s face in her memory. She didn’t want to contact such a person unless necessary.
But when in Rome, do as the Romans do. If she aroused Xu Boyang’s suspicion and made him think that his daughter was “corrupted” by Song Jiao, things would spiral into an unpredictable abyss.
After all, [Xu Jinzhao] was just a wolf cub who had just been weaned. Xu Jinzhao had no ability to resist the ruthless and dictatorial old wolf king and could only try her best to disguise herself and deal with him.
Xu Jinzhao recalled the original owner’s dressing style in front of Xu Boyang and picked out a formal long-sleeved white shirt with black suit trousers. She changed and combed her hair meticulously in front of the mirror.
She personally rarely dressed so seriously and restrainedly, preferring to wear clothes that showed her figure or were soft and light.
But right now, she had to play [Xu Jinzhao] in front of Xu Boyang, so she had to follow Xu Boyang’s perception of female Alpha’s clothing.
Xu Boyang also hated other Alphas showing their pheromones in front of him, even his own daughter. Therefore, [Xu Jinzhao] would put a strong blocker on the back of her neck every time. Xu Jinzhao also tore open a patch and carefully applied it to herself.
After applying light makeup, she put on a reddish-brown lipstick and was troubled by her ears.
The marks from the nylon zip ties on her wrists were hidden under her cuffs, and she could find a way to deal with her bandaged right hand, but how could she explain the bite marks on her ears?
Her Xu Jinzhao’s mouth couldn’t be so magical that it could bite her own ears.
And with Xu Boyang’s style, how could he tolerate an Omega attacking his Alpha? He would probably be furious.
Xu Jinzhao sighed. She would just have to play it by ear.
She put her suit jacket on her arm, thinking about what to do after meeting Xu Boyang, and slowly went downstairs.
Xu Jinzhao thought that Song Jiao would keep hiding from her. After all, no one wanted to wander around a time bomb, and Song Jiao was clearly frightened yesterday and probably needed some time to lick her wounds alone.
But to her surprise, Song Jiao was actually downstairs.
The Omega’s loosely braided hair was draped over her shoulders. She was wearing a dark green apron with a tie around her slender waist, tied into a bow and hanging down. She was busy doing something with her back to Xu Jinzhao.
Xu Jinzhao’s eyes uncontrollably fell on her neck. The dark hair partially covered the white back of her neck. The blocker ruthlessly locked the sweet scent of the ripe peaches of late spring on the branches, not allowing even a trace to escape.
For a moment, she seemed to hallucinate the Omega’s intoxicating scent, but then she realized that she hadn’t smelled anything at all.
Xu Jinzhao shook her head vigorously, driving these ambiguous thoughts out of her mind.
The next moment, Song Jiao, startled, turned around.
Those eyes, filled with the lingering mist of the plum rain season, suddenly lifted, and after meeting Xu Jinzhao’s eyes, they quickly lowered again.
Her voice was obedient and timid.
“I’ll eat well.”
Xu Jinzhao couldn’t react for a moment, and only after a few seconds did she belatedly recall that she had told Song Jiao to remember to eat.
She responded dryly. Perhaps because the shirt collar was too tight, she felt a tickle in her throat and unconsciously raised her hand to pinch her neck.
Xu Jinzhao cleared her throat awkwardly and randomly picked a pair of shoes from the shoe cabinet.
Her departing back had a hint of fleeing in panic.
Xu Jinzhao stepped on her high heels and rushed to the garage, opened the car door, and sank into the driver’s seat. In the rearview mirror, her cheeks were slightly flushed.
There was only the rustling of the wind blowing through the grass, and occasionally a few clear birdsongs.
She didn’t start the car immediately, but felt inexplicably flustered, her heart pounding, her fingertips tapping meaninglessly on the steering wheel.
Gradually, she calmed down, took off her high heels, and put on her driving flats.
Song Jiao was quite charming when she acted obedient.
At the moment she turned the car key, Xu Jinzhao thought.
Author’s Notes:
Jinzhao: Damn it, she got me.
ps: [Xu Jinzhao]’s act of coercing marriage against a woman’s will interfered with Song Jiao’s freedom of marriage. In the original book timeline, she received legal punishment in the future.
