- Chapter 14 - Ruining the Male and Female Leads' First Meeting
Meng Chang’an nodded, and Gu Pei let go of him, walking toward the school gate without looking back.
At that moment, the fan girls who had just witnessed the scene were starting to fight amongst themselves!
“That Gu Pei is so shameless, how dare she hold my Male God Meng’s waist!”
“Are you stupid? Didn’t you see that if Master Gu hadn’t caught Meng Chang’an, he would have fallen?”
“Exactly… You’re just jealous and saying sour things because you can’t get what you want!”
The person in question, Gu Pei, continued walking at a steady pace toward the fan girls. Her alluring lips coldly uttered a few words: “Move aside!”
With a “swish,” the crowd parted, forming a straight path.
Gu Pei was dressed in a simple white shirt and tight-fitting pants that highlighted her long, slender legs, standing at least 1.73 meters tall. Her soft burgundy short hair and long, narrow eyes full of disdain complemented her sharp nose, leaving a striking impression.
Why did her words command such obedience from her classmates?
Because once, a troublemaker had the guts to block Gu Pei and even used vulgar words to provoke her. Gu Pei knocked him straight into the hospital with a single punch. Since then, whenever he saw her, that troublemaker would avoid her like the plague.
Gu Pei’s gender-neutral attractiveness also cemented her spot as one of the school’s most admired figures, with countless love letters and gifts filling her desk—sent by both boys and girls, hence the nickname “Heartbreaker Gu.”
But her reputation didn’t stop there. Gu Pei had made it her mission to rein in all the school bullies. Her ruthless fighting methods left those troublemakers terrified, earning her the undisputed title of school tyrant. Gu Pei was someone people both loved and feared.
Meng Chang’an adjusted his black rimless glasses, his eyes finally showing a glimmer of light.
Finally… I’ve made an impression on you!
Meng Chang’an lowered his head and walked toward the school gate. The fan girls, previously too scared to speak because of Gu Pei’s icy presence, started shouting again when they saw Meng Chang’an.
“Senior Meng, I love you!”
“Senior Meng is even more delicate than a girl… I’m so jealous!”
Meng Chang’an had sharp, short hair and crescent-shaped eyebrows that his remaining bangs couldn’t cover. His black-framed glasses added a touch of innocence to his large dark eyes. His lips were a rosy red, making him the very picture of a gentle and refined young man.
Seeing him blush with shyness, his face tinged pink, the fangirls’ eyes began to gleam as if they had just found a precious treasure waiting to be claimed.
Just then, there was a sudden “bang“ an electric scooter crashed right into the belated Maserati.
With a scraping sound, the red Maserati’s body lost a layer of paint.
Xia Qian, the scooter rider, was thrown onto the grassy lawn by the impact. Her pale face was now smeared with dirt, and her long black hair was tangled with green leaves, making her appear quite the mess.
Yao Yuan’s cold and emotionless eyes gazed through the car window at the fallen Xia Qian. His voice, clear and calm, pierced the air: “Uncle Li, give her my card. Demand compensation.”
Hearing his voice sent a strange tremor through Xia Qian’s heart, and her face flushed red with emotion.
Uncle Li, the driver, got out of the car and handed her a business card. “Miss, the total is 160,000 yuan. Please transfer the amount to the number on the card.”
Xia Qian’s face turned pink as she protested, “Just for a scratch, and you want that much?”
Although she was already living a wealthy lifestyle, Xia Qian wasn’t born into luxury, so she didn’t recognize what kind of car this was.
Yao Yuan sneered, and Uncle Li quickly stepped forward to open the car door.
The first thing visible was a pair of well-made leather shoes, followed by long, slender legs stepping out. Then, that exquisitely chiseled face was revealed.
His handsome lips spat out cruel words: “Poor people are just poor people. If you can’t afford it, come and be my maid.”
Yao Yuan looked at Xia Qian’s face, which was still clean and delicate despite the dirt, and a hint of disgust flashed through his mind.
At first glance, Yao Yuan had only two words in his mind: disgusting!
It was the first time he had ever disliked someone so much, and the novelty intrigued him. That’s why he proposed having her as his maid, to observe what it was about her that repelled him so deeply.
Xia Qian’s entire body trembled with rage, her beautiful face contorted in suppressed anger.
He… how could he treat her like this?
In her imagination, this man was supposed to be gazing at her with warmth and affection, not with the look one gives a filthy rat in the gutter.
Her heart ached in a way she couldn’t understand, her emotions swinging with every word he said.
“I won’t agree. I’ll pay it back little by little if I have to!”
“Oh? That works too. But the interest will increase with every day you delay. How about that?”
His mischievous tone, paired with his perfect face, made it hard to believe such irritating words came from Yao Yuan’s mouth.
Hearing the exchange, the fan girls couldn’t hold back anymore. Though Xia Qian was the group’s favorite, Yao Yuan was their prince. They couldn’t let this slide.
“Ha, if I’d known that crashing into Yao Xuezhang’s car could get his attention, I would’ve done it too!”
“Look at her, just a poor girl dreaming of catching a rich guy.”
“Ugh, my prince…”
Hiding behind the car, Mu Suru had been watching the whole scene play out.

This encounter would eventually force Xia Qian into the role of Yao Yuan’s maid, and during that time, Yao would gradually fall in love with her, touched by her strength and resilience.
Thus began the classic cat-and-mouse dynamic, he chased, she fled, but she was inevitably caught.
Such a fun storyline, how could Mu Suru not step in?
“I’ll pay the money, but please spare my sister,” Mu Suru said as she shakily emerged from behind the car.
Her baby-faced expression was resolute, and her tiny fists were clenched tightly.
Hearing that soft and tender voice, Yao Yuan felt a surge of unfamiliar guilt and sadness.
What is this? I don’t even know her.
Yao Yuan turned around and saw the soft, chubby-cheeked little girl staring at him, her hands balled into fists. His lips curled into a mocking smile. “Can you even afford it? Everyone knows Mu Suru is a poor scholarship student.”
Yao Yuan deliberately emphasized the words “poor student,” hoping to see her puff up with indignation.
But to his disappointment, Mu Suru simply pulled out her phone, snatched the business card from Xia Qian’s trembling hands, and swiftly made a transfer.
A moment later, Yao Yuan heard his phone ding. He pulled it out of his pocket, his expression complicated as he looked at the sea of zeroes on the screen.
If she had this much money, why pretend to be a poor scholarship student? Why let herself be bullied all this time?
But Mu Suru didn’t care about answering those questions. She grabbed Xia Qian by the arm and walked away.
Watching the pair’s retreating figures, Yao Yuan’s fingers idly brushed the hem of his shirt. A mysterious smile played on his lips.
Mu Suru…you really make me look forward to you more and more!
