- Chapter 21 - Who Doesn't Know How to Pretend to Be Weak
Mu Suru stood at the podium, her pretty face serious as she put her hands to her mouth, mimicking a trumpet. She began self-reflection: “I feel very guilty toward the teacher and my classmates. Over the past six months, my studies have not improved but declined, and I’ve been frequently late.
Here, I swear: that I will study hard and strive for progress every day. I also hope the teacher can trust me again and give me a chance to improve!”
After finishing, she sincerely bowed.
This completely baffled the teacher: When did Mu Suru change so drastically?
The classmates were also stunned. Was this really the same timid girl?
Mu Suru then walked down the aisle with a confident stride, ignoring everyone.
Meng Chang’an, usually spaced out, had a glimmer of interest flash in his eyes.
Things were starting to get interesting, weren’t they?
At lunchtime, Mu Suru, as usual, emptied her lunchbox completely.
Seeing the greasy stains inside, her obsessive-compulsive nature kicked in, and she took her lunchbox to the bathroom to clean it.
She pretended not to notice the few girls following behind her.
The sound of running water echoed as Mu Suru carefully scrubbed the grease from her lunchbox, her expression focused.
“Mu Suru, I finally caught you, you little brat!”
Mu Jia, with her heavily made-up face, glared with resentment. The humiliation from that incident at the Yue Le Bookstore was still fresh in her mind. Today, she was determined to regain her dignity!
A few girls stood behind her, closing in on Mu Suru.
Mu Suru didn’t panic. After placing the cleaned lunchbox on the white counter, she shrugged, loosening up her stiff arms.
She knew Taekwondo, handling a few girls would be a breeze!
Time to teach these disobedient brats a lesson~
[Critical Plot Event Detected. Confirm if you wish to alter it.]
In the original story, Mu Suru was bullied by Mu Jia and her group. Being naturally timid, the original Mu Suru didn’t dare to resist. Fortunately, at a crucial moment, the male lead, Yao Yuan, stepped in and saved her.

Mu Suru innocently waved her hands, her face full of feigned fear, “What do you all want?”
Mu Jia signaled to her lackeys, and one of them obediently closed the bathroom door.
With the door shut, Mu Jia’s true nature revealed itself. Her eyes filled with malice, and she flashed a sinister smile, “Get her, just a little punishment to start.”
Her lackeys rushed toward Mu Suru.
Mu Suru trembled slightly, wearing an expression of mock fear that made Mu Jia laugh out loud, only to be stunned in the next second.
Mu Suru swiftly dodged a punch from one lackey and, with a shoulder throw, left her dazed.
Then, with a left hook, she knocked down one girl, followed by a spinning kick that sent another flying.
In less than five minutes, Mu Jia’s lackeys were on the floor, groaning in pain.
The whole scene was utter chaos, leaving Mu Jia in complete shock.
Wasn’t Mu Suru supposed to be a quiet, obedient girl?
That brutal fighting style was downright terrifying!
Mu Suru smiled sweetly. If it weren’t for the fact that she had one foot pressing down on a lackey’s back, she would have looked absolutely adorable.
Mu Jia, now filled with panic, watched as the demon Mu Suru approached her step by step.
Despair spread through her body uncontrollably.
Just then, a voice as soothing as heavenly music echoed through the room.
“Mu Suru?”
The door was knocked on, and Mu Jia, not caring why Yao Yuan, the school’s heartthrob, was at the girls’ bathroom, hurriedly opened it. In her excitement, she tripped and fell into Yao Yuan’s arms.
Feeling the warmth and strength of his embrace, Mu Jia blushed furiously.
So embarrassing!
Yao Yuan’s expression soured. When the door opened, something unexpected had fallen into his arms. Instinctively, he caught it, only to realize it was a girl.
Looking at her with disgust, he quickly let go, without any consideration for her feelings.
Mu Jia, who had been savoring Yao Yuan’s warmth one moment, let out a miserable cry the next: “Ah…”
Yao Yuan, in his crisp white school uniform, his collar slightly open, revealing his tanned skin and the sensual movement of his Adam’s apple.
His dark eyes always carried a smile, though it never reached their depths.
Right now, those eyes were scanning the scene of “bodies” lying across the floor with a hint of confusion.
Mu Suru had already messed up her hair, dirtied her skirt with some dust, and made herself look disheveled.
Then she lowered her head, it was time for a crying scene.
She recalled the bitter days from her past life when she couldn’t eat spicy food.
Her nose tingled, and, instantly immersed in the moment, tears streamed down like broken pearls.
Choking back sobs, Mu Suru said, “Senior Yao, thank goodness you came, or else I…”
Yao Yuan was momentarily stunned, seeing her messy hair, dust on her skirt, and her evasive eyes and pale lips.
She clearly looked like someone who had been bullied, but what was up with the girls on the ground?
Yao Yuan felt like his brilliant mind wasn’t keeping up with the situation.
“Was Mu Jia the one who cornered you?”
Mu Suru shrank back a little, her long, tear-soaked lashes covering her lovely eyes.
“No… she just said she wanted to ‘talk’ with me.”
Hearing this, Mu Jia, despite her bruised rear, immediately jumped up from the floor.
Her voice, now overly sweet and delicate, whined, “It’s exactly like she said. Who knew she would end up beating up my people!”
This stinky bug actually knows how to talk. Fine, I’ll generously forgive her for now!
Yao Yuan: Do you think I’m an idiot…
Talk? It’s more like a one-sided beating!
His voice fluctuated, filled with anger: “Mu Jia, do you think I’m blind?”
Mu Jia was confused about why Yao Yuan said that but still insisted, “Senior Yao, believe me, my people really were beaten up by her!”
Yao Yuan didn’t want to argue with this fool any longer. His brows furrowed as he looked at the items on the floor: cameras, ropes, and other equipment.
He recalled a school bullying video circulating online recently.
For some reason, even though he had only met Mu Suru once, seeing her bullied like this ignited a fiery rage within him.
He couldn’t imagine what would have happened to Mu Suru if he had arrived even a moment later.
Silently, Yao Yuan thanked the mysterious intuition that led him here.
“Mu Jia, you’ve gone too far.”
Straightening his school uniform, he softly added, “I remember your father has a contract with my dad’s company. It’s off the table now.”
Mu Jia’s eyes widened with rage. She lunged forward, grabbing his pant leg tightly: “Yao Yuan, I’m begging you, I was wrong. Please don’t cancel the contract!”
She knew exactly how important that contract was to her father. If they lost it because of her, he would definitely kick her out of the house. After all, her father had many illegitimate daughters, he wouldn’t miss one…
Yao Yuan looked down at her coldly, “You offended the wrong person. These are the consequences.”
With that, he started to walk away, but Mu Jia clung too tightly for him to shake her off immediately.
“Let go! Don’t make me repeat myself!”
The flash of icy light in Yao Yuan’s eyes made Mu Jia release her grip in a daze.
Wasn’t Senior Yao the gentlest person around?
“Why… why does everyone want to protect that little b*tch?!”
Mu Jia, feeling all hope lost, spewed out all of her pent-up resentment in a fit of rage.
