- Chapter 30 - Creating a World for Two
At Xiawan Street
Hua Shaoyi wore a bright red dress, looking incredibly stunning.
A rich young man, dressed to impress, held a bouquet of flowers and thought he was being romantic as he said, “Beautiful lady, I’ve had my eye on you for a long time. I used to love eating meat, but today, after seeing you, I’ve decided to go vegetarian, because… you’re exactly my dish.”
Hua Shaoyi twitched her eye and resisted the urge to roll them. “Sir, I’m waiting for someone.”
The rich young man, with a sleazy smile, rubbed his hands together. “Is it your boyfriend? If not, what do you think about me? My love for you is like a tractor climbing a hill—intense and unstoppable.”
Hua Shaoyi felt nauseous and was about to lose her patience when a figure she was most familiar with appeared.
Mu Chen, wearing a deep blue loungewear set, looked at her with a calm expression.
Meanwhile, Mu Suru hid behind him, quietly observing.
With her confidence boosted, Hua Shaoyi straightened her seductive figure and shyly smiled like a bashful young woman, “Sorry, I already have a boyfriend.”
Upon hearing this, Mu Chen felt a twinge of sadness. Although he thought he no longer cared, her words still managed to affect his mood.
Her mentioning having a boyfriend was like a stab to his heart, leaving a bitter taste in his mouth.
“Huh? You mean that pretty boy?”
The rich man was a little unconvinced, looking Mu Chen up and down.
Sure, he was good-looking, but looks don’t equal strength!
He couldn’t understand how he could lose to this guy!
Mu Chen noticed the sneer in the man’s eyes as he looked at him.
So… was Hua Shaoyi referring to him?
“Hmm… and he’s not a pretty boy!”
Hua Shaoyi said with a blushing face and a hint of anger in her gaze.
The rich young man was irritated and rolled up his sleeves. “Don’t be shameless, miss. Get him, and beat up that pretty boy for me!”
His followers started to surround Mu Chen and the others.
Mu Chen adjusted his tie, a dangerous smirk playing on his lips.
His entire aura shifted, becoming both devilish and eerie.
Without hurry, he gave a yellow-haired thug a shoulder throw and used him to knock down several others rushing towards him.
With a loud “thud,” a group of them collapsed, groaning in pain.
Then, with his long legs, Mu Chen kicked one underling after another, his extraordinarily handsome face full of excitement. His hidden bloodthirstiness was fully awakened.
Meanwhile, a sleazy thug charged at Hua Shaoyi and Mu Suru, thinking they’d be easy targets.
Hua Shaoyi tossed her wine-red curls with a fierce attitude, her seductive eyes narrowing. She elegantly shielded Mu Suru behind her.
“Little sister, be good. These bad guys… leave them to me~”
With her crimson-painted nails resting lightly on her red lips, she gave Mu Suru a gentle smile.
Seeing this alluring woman, the thug drooled, “Little beauty, why don’t you come with me? That way, you’ll avoid getting hurt…”
Before he could finish, Hua Shaoyi punched him so hard that stars spun before his eyes.
Then, her sharp high heels struck the thug in an unspeakable area.
A loud “crack” was followed by the man clutching his crotch, groaning in agony as he fell to the ground.
Everyone paused, stunned, and looked at Hua Shaoyi in disbelief.
She was so cruel!
Mu Chen took a deep breath, his normally cold eyes filled with helpless amusement.
Still as fiery as ever…
Seeing this brutal scene, the rich young man scrambled away in terror.
Mu Suru watched with admiration, “Wow, pretty sister, you’re amazing… Be my sister-in-law!”
Mu Chen was carefully cleaning his hands with a handkerchief when he heard this.
His hand shook, and the handkerchief fell to the ground.
“Don’t talk nonsense!”
He looked at the fallen handkerchief, but with his cleanliness obsession, he couldn’t bear to use it anymore. The stickiness on his hands was driving him crazy…
At that moment, a handkerchief embroidered with delicate orchids appeared before him.
Hua Shaoyi’s radiant face filled his view.
“Use this.”
Mu Chen averted his eyes, bent down, and picked up the handkerchief from the ground. “No need.”
Suppressing his discomfort, he reluctantly wiped off some of the dirt on his hands, then stylishly tossed the cloth into the trash.
Hua Shaoyi felt a bit defeated but quickly bounced back.
That’s okay. This time, she’d be the one chasing him!
Mu Chen tugged at Mu Suru’s ear, ignoring her cries for mercy. “Ru Tuan, you really can’t keep your mouth shut, can you?”
Mu Suru cried out in pain, “Sister-in-law, help me…!”
Hua Shaoyi acted as the peacemaker, using her clever words to finally get Mu Chen to let go.
Mu Suru rubbed her reddened ear, grumbling, “Sister-in-law, look how fierce my brother is. Only you can put up with him…”
A rosy blush appeared on Hua Shaoyi’s face as she was called “sister-in-law,” and she replied, “Your brother’s not fierce. He’s actually a very gentle man…”
Step one, reaffirm Mu Chen’s image in Hua Shaoyi’s mind, success!
Gentle? Him?
Mu Chen awkwardly tried to hide the smile forming on his lips.
As night deepened, the street remained lively, with colorful neon lights reflecting off the tall buildings.
Bright, vibrant lights blended together, creating a beautiful scene.
Couples strolled by, their shadows lengthened by the moonlight.
Three shadows of varying heights intertwined, creating a unique harmony.
Mu Suru stared longingly at a steamed bun stall.
The steamer baskets were filled with soft, plump buns, releasing a mouth-watering aroma, as if waiting to be tasted.
She glanced at the two silent figures beside her, quietly slowed her pace, and fell behind them.
The two, immersed in their own world, didn’t notice until Mu Suru was already gone.
“Ru Tuan, Ru…”
Mu Chen grew worried, but the crowd made it difficult to spot her.
Hua Shaoyi thought of the mischievous little sister and, recalling her grown-up-like eyes, guessed, “Mu Chen, maybe she’s tempted by the street food. How about we retrace our steps?”
Mu Chen’s dark eyes, reflecting the lights, softened slightly. “Alright.”
Mu Suru wanted to pat herself on the back for her clever plan.
Didn’t she just create a world for the two of them?
Standing in front of the bun stall, she sweetly said to the kindly uncle, “Uncle, I want one… no, two meat buns!”
The uncle’s hardened face softened slightly, and he forced a not-so-gentle smile. “Wait just a moment.”
Mu Suru nodded and then, with sharp eyes, spotted a nearby bakery with elegant decorations.
In its beautifully lit display, delicate crystal cakes were arranged on plates, their subtle floral fragrance tempting.
Just then, the meat buns were ready. Mu Suru paid with a WeChat scan and sweetly called out: “Thank you, Uncle.”
