- Chapter 7 - Preemptive Care for the Little Villain
Mu An’s cold, jade-like face showed astonishment.
But seeing Ru Tuan’s eager expression and her fluttering apricot eyes made it very difficult to refuse, so Mu An had no choice but to pin the begonia flower to the other side of Mu Suru’s ear.
On Mu Suru’s snow-white, cute face, the flower did not appear gaudy but instead made her little face look even more delicate and charming.
Mu Suru smiled sweetly, while Xia Qian could only watch them in their harmonious interaction, feeling left out.
Her heart was filled with deep frustration.
In the middle of the night, a small figure blending with the darkness moved under the bright moonlight, its shadow stretching long and visible.
By the well, the figure rustled as it took out a large bundle.
Then it began to pull out some items. Under the moonlight, it was revealed that these were…
“Braised rabbit meat, mutton buns, steamed lamb legs…”
A deliberately suppressed, mumbling voice was heard.
Mu Suru painstakingly patted the cooled lamb leg.
Not sure if the little villain had good teeth, she hoped he wouldn’t break them, or it would be a shame!
A pair of glossy black eyes was fixed on the lamb leg, and upon closer inspection, one could see a deep longing within them.
Mu Suru laid out the cooled food on a cloth and then left without looking back.
Ren Zai swallowed, still waiting motionless for something.
After a long while, Ren Zai moved, limping away from the dark bamboo forest.
He eagerly picked up the lamb leg and took large bites, swallowing it whole without chewing.
In two or three minutes, the lamb leg, which was the size of both his hands, was gone.
Ten minutes later, the cloth was clean, and Ren Zai licked his dirty fingers.
He then slowly crawled, leaving a trail of blood on the uneven stone ground.
Suddenly, the crawling figure went still, as if it had fallen asleep…
Mu Suru returned, holding a small medical kit, seemingly prepared in advance.
She carefully approached the bloodstained figure.
She gently dropped a small stone onto Ren Zai’s body.
Seeing he did not react, Mu Suru was relieved.
As she squatted down, the body suddenly moved, startling her into retreating.
Ren Zai struggled to prop himself up, trying to make a fierce face to scare off the “enemy.”
But he ultimately could not withstand the drug’s effects and fainted.
Mu Suru took a deep breath and approached, attempting to peel away the bloodied fur from Ren Zai’s back.
But she found that the fur had been scratched open by sharp claws, revealing flesh soaked in fresh red blood.
It seemed he had been injured by other animals, and surviving until now was truly difficult.
Mu Suru pulled aside the fur from Ren Zai’s back, revealing fresh red claw marks.
The fur was long, covering his legs.
Mu Suru discovered she couldn’t pull off the fur from Ren Zai’s calf, feeling uneasy as it seemed the fur and flesh were stuck together.
She couldn’t help but use some force, tearing off the fur along with the bloodied skin.
This resulted in the wound on Ren Zai’s leg becoming a bloody mess.
Mu Suru felt her scalp tingle in this view, almost tearing up!
She stopped moving, and in the moonlight, she seemed to see something silver embedded in the flesh…
Suddenly, she thought of something, her face paling, and took out a pair of pliers and other tools from the medical kit.
First, she gave anesthesia to Ren Zai, then began to work with trembling hands.
Throughout the process, Mu Suru’s hands were shaking, and she felt an indescribable pain in her heart.
Yes, it was heartache!
After relentless effort, a bullet shimmering with silver was finally extracted.
Her once delicate white hands were now covered in blood.
Mu Suru then wrapped Ren Zai’s leg with gauze, tying a clumsy bow.
She used a cotton swab dipped in iodine to carefully apply it to the claw marks on his back.
After applying the medication, Mu Suru secured Ren Zai’s neck to prevent the freshly applied medication from getting dirty.
She looked down and saw his weak chest scratched open by sharp stones.
The injuries weren’t too severe, but she still applied some medication.
At the moment Mu Suru was most relaxed, Ren Zai suddenly grabbed her arm.
His muddy hair fell over her neck as he leaned in.
Before Mu Suru could react, her hands were bound, the pressure seeming to crush her bones.
The pain made her whimper, “Hiss…”
Ren Zai’s body paused imperceptibly, and then his heavy breathing brushed against Mu Suru’s fair, slender neck, causing goosebumps.
Mu Suru could feel his sharp white fangs against her neck, the cold making her shiver.
“You… mmm…”
Mu Suru started to make a sound but was interrupted by the pain in her neck.
The pain caused her beautiful eyes to mist over, tears streaming down.
The coldness slid down Ren Zai’s throat, gradually bringing him to his senses.
Ren Zai suppressed the rage in his heart, raised his head, and his gaze met Mu Suru’s diamond-like beautiful eyes.
In his beast-like, ruthless eyes, a trace of confusion flickered.
Mumbling as if wanting to say something, he succumbed to exhaustion and fainted again.
Perhaps due to the delayed effects of the anesthesia, Ren Zai regained consciousness again.
But he was too out of it, and his head heavily bumped against Mu Suru’s shoulder.
She could even hear the sound of bones cracking!
Mu Suru turned her head and saw the bite mark on her shoulder already oozing blood.
Damn it, she wanted to curse!
Mu Suru covered Ren Zai with the small coat she had thrown aside and then carried him.
Surprisingly, he felt light, almost weightless, making her heart feel a pang of bitterness.
She placed Ren Zai behind the pile of wood in the small cabin, a spot not easily discovered.
She gently stroked his hair, which felt as rough as dried grass, and silently said, “Good night.”
The distant dawn was as colorful as a rainbow, and Mu Suru happily looked out from the window.
The prairie was full of snow-white, adorable lambs.
They chewed on green grass with eyes like black grapes, utterly endearing.
Clearly, Mu Suru wasn’t the only one with such thoughts. The sneaky figure lurking nearby must feel the same.
Wait…
Mu Suru narrowed her eyes and realized…
!!
The little villain was hungry and trying to steal a lamb!
This absolutely couldn’t be allowed!
Just as Xia Qian went to the bathroom, Mu Suru quickly put on her slippers.
She grabbed the meat buns from the table and hurried out.
Ren Zai, wrapped in the discarded fur and wearing a tattered white coat, cautiously approached the lambs.
His dark face made his expression unclear, but the suspicious, glistening trace at the corner of his mouth gave him away.
Mu Suru arrived just in time to hear a “baa…”
The lambs panicked and fled across the prairie, nearly running into her.
She saw that the little villain had caught a particularly plump lamb.
His glinting sharp teeth were about to bite into the woolly neck.
Mu Suru quickly opened the bag of meat buns.
The enticing aroma wafted into Ren Zai’s nose.
His nose twitched, and he put down the lamb.
The little lamb hurriedly ran away with joyful steps.
Its snow-white buttocks bobbing was indescribably funny.
