Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 17
After coaxing the little one to sleep, Shen Xian finally took a shower and returned to her room. She glanced at her phone and saw that Jiang Xi had already sent her the details on Feixin.
Jiang Xi: Sis, tomorrow at six p.m., let’s meet at the restaurant in Guojiang Hotel!
Shen Xian: Okay, see you then.
After handling that, Shen Xian checked on a few stocks she had recently invested in. Seeing everything was stable, she finally went to bed.
—
The next day, Shen Xian picked up Tiantian as usual and spent a bit of time playing with her outside the kindergarten. When Lin Qinghan arrived, Shen Xian handed the child over.
“I’ve got something to do tonight, so don’t wait for me for dinner,” she said, gently patting Shen Tian’s head.
Shen Tian pouted slightly. She didn’t really understand what “something to do” meant, but it felt like… maybe Mommy didn’t want her anymore?
Shen Xian quickly coaxed her: “I’ll only be out for a bit and then I’ll come straight back to be with you, alright? I’m just meeting a friend for dinner, and don’t worry, they’re not a bad person.”
Still, Shen Tian reached out her little hands toward Shen Xian again. Shen Xian picked her up, and Shen Tian rested her little face on her mommy’s shoulder and said softly, “Mommy has to come back early.
Tiantian misses you. And don’t play with bad people.”
Shen Xian’s heart ached with warmth and sorrow. The original Shen Xian had made this little girl so insecure. “Alright. Mommy will be good and come home early to be with Tiantian,” she promised.
Only then did Shen Tian reluctantly let Lin Qinghan carry her. Lin Qinghan’s expression was indifferent, so Shen Xian quickly added, “I really am going to do something proper, Qinghan. Please don’t misunderstand.”
“What you do has nothing to do with me. Just don’t bring home any shady characters.” With that, she walked off with Shen Tian. As they left, little Tiantian kept glancing back at her mommy—still worried she might turn back into the person she used to be.
—
After seeing the mother and daughter off, Shen Xian hailed a cab to Guojiang Hotel, arriving just before 6:00 p.m. The upscale Western restaurant made her plain outfit—white tee and skinny jeans—stand out, but the staff remained professional and politely asked who she was meeting.
Upon hearing she was there to see a woman named Jiang, they led her to a private dining room where Jiang Xi was already seated with another woman.
As Shen Xian stepped inside, she saw Jiang Xi and the woman next to her. The woman was wearing a cream-colored belted dress that accentuated her fair skin and subtly alluring features. Though her posture was relaxed, leaning back in her chair, she exuded an air of elegance and restraint.
The woman studied Shen Xian as well, but it was Jiang Xi who broke the silence: “Sister Shen, you’re here! This is my best friend since childhood—Sister Mu.”
Shen Xian smiled and nodded. “Hello, Miss Mu.”
“Hello.” Mu Siyu returned the nod, still scrutinizing Shen Xian. She had to admit, Shen Xian was attractive, and strangely enough, gave off the aura of an Alpha—setting off quiet alarms in Mu Siyu’s mind.
“Come on, don’t act like you’re in a business meeting,” Jiang Xi teased. “We’re all friends here—relax!”
Shen Xian chuckled. “You’re right, it is a little too formal of us.”
Mu Siyu smiled politely, though when Shen Xian casually called Jiang Xi “Xiao Xi,” her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. “Let’s eat,” she said.
“Sure.” Shen Xian picked up her knife and fork with practiced ease and began cutting into her steak. Mu Siyu continued to observe her subtly, increasingly convinced that Shen Xian wasn’t some ordinary person.
“Miss Shen,” Mu Siyu said casually, “I heard that Xi Xi entrusted you with her 10 million yuan for investment. Do you mind sharing what you did with it? Of course, just small talk—if it’s sensitive, no worries.”
Shen Xian instantly understood. This woman was worried she might be a scammer. “I allocated nine million into the stock market. Based on recent trends, I believe there will be a steady upward climb over the next three months. The remaining one million I put into cryptocurrency.”
Mu Siyu nodded. So she did know a thing or two. Her analysis aligned with Mu Siyu’s own. Still, crypto? That was fringe, possibly a scam.
“The market is looking good, true. But cryptocurrency is still too niche. I don’t think it has that much growth potential.”
Shen Xian smiled. “The economy’s heading toward blockchain. Crypto is an inevitable trend. Anyway, I’m not putting all my eggs in one basket—just testing the waters.”
“Fair enough,” Mu Siyu said. “A bold move. May I ask where you worked before?”
“Oh, I just enjoy tinkering with investments. Let’s be real—anyone wanting to break into finance has to get a golden degree from an internationally renowned school. You need credentials and experience just to get your foot in the door.”
Thankfully, Mu Siyu didn’t press further and nodded. “You’re right. It’s a tough circle to break into.”
The two got caught up in conversation about stocks and blockchain, which nearly bored Jiang Xi to sleep.
“Sisters, can we not talk shop?” Jiang Xi pouted. “Didn’t we say this was about making friends? I feel like I’m back in college—totally lost!”
Mu Siyu laughed indulgently. “Sorry, we weren’t thinking. I’ll drink a glass to apologize.”
She tilted her head back, exposing her graceful neck, and downed her wine. Jiang Xi’s gaze was glued to her like a magnet.
Shen Xian noticed and thought, Mu Siyu is beautiful, but does Xi Xi have to stare like that? Still, as a straight woman, she didn’t read too much into it and chalked it up to close sisterly affection.
Mu Siyu, on the other hand, was well aware of Jiang Xi’s gaze and was secretly pleased. She even shot a subtle glance at Shen Xian—as if marking her territory. Shen Xian, however, was completely oblivious.
“Are you satisfied now, Xi Xi?” Mu Siyu teased.
Jiang Xi grinned. “Very! But Sister Shen, you should drink one too!”
Shen Xian didn’t mind. She could hold her liquor—back in her old life, she drank only when she wanted to, and no one dared to push her otherwise.
“Alright. No more business talk—let’s just enjoy.” She raised her glass and sipped. Her poised demeanor, cool expression, and slightly tilted head made her look captivating, which only made Jiang Xi stare more.
Mu Siyu felt increasingly uncomfortable—Does this little flirt stare at every pretty girl like that?
The conversation shifted to food, fun, and entertainment, where Jiang Xi was clearly in her element. She chatted enthusiastically while Shen Xian and Mu Siyu mostly listened and chimed in occasionally. All in all, it was a pleasant and lively dinner.
By the time they finished, it was nearly 9 p.m. Since everyone had been drinking, Mu Siyu arranged for her driver to pick them up.
“Miss Shen, shall we drop you off?” Mu Siyu offered politely.
Shen Xian smiled. “No need. I live nearby—I’ll just call a cab. You two be careful on the way.”
“Alright. Goodbye, Miss Shen.”
“Goodbye, Miss Mu. Bye, Xiao Xi.”
“Bye, Sister Shen. Let’s meet again soon!” Jiang Xi made a call-me gesture.
“Sure. Bye!” Shen Xian got into a cab, and only then did the other two head to Mu Siyu’s Maybach.
—
After getting in, Mu Siyu told the driver, “Take Xi Xi to the Jiang villa first.”
Jiang Xi pouted and leaned her head on Mu Siyu’s shoulder. “Can’t I go to your place instead? It’s late, and I haven’t had a sleepover at your place in forever.” As she spoke, she took in the soft pear-blossom scent of Mu Siyu’s pheromones like a kitten with catnip—clearly addicted.
Mu Siyu sighed. “No. I’ve told you many times—now that I’m an Alpha and you’re an Omega, we can’t sleep in the same bed like we used to. Not just with me—with any Alpha, you need to be careful.”
“But you’re not a bad person! Can’t I stay just this once?” Jiang Xi asked, still hopeful.
“No,” Mu Siyu repeated. This silly girl still only sees me as a sister. When will she realize how I feel?
Disheartened by the rejection, Jiang Xi slumped, confused why an Alpha like her sister would be the one worried. If anyone’s at risk here, it’s me, isn’t it?
Eventually, after much persuasion, Jiang Xi reluctantly returned home. She hated having differentiated—hated how it had put emotional distance between her and Mu Siyu.
—
Meanwhile, when Shen Xian opened the door to her place, she noticed the lights were still on. On the couch sat Lin Qinghan.
“Qinghan? Tiantian’s asleep?” Usually, once the little one was asleep, Lin Qinghan would go to bed too.
“Mhm. She’s asleep,” Lin Qinghan replied, visibly relieved to see Shen Xian looking normal. She had been worried she might have gone out messing around again.
Shen Xian’s heart leapt. So Qinghan had waited for her?
“Qinghan, were you waiting for me because you were worried?” Shen Xian asked with a smile.
Lin Qinghan glanced at her. “You’re overthinking it. I just ate too much and couldn’t sleep. Going to bed now.” With that, she turned and went to the bedroom.
Still, the affection meter above her head in Shen Xian’s mind had quietly risen from -60 to -50.
Shen Xian chuckled quietly as she gazed toward the bedroom. Qinghan sure is tsundere.
