Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 35
It was a little past 8 p.m. when Shen Xian received a call from Jiang Xi. The moment she answered, a deafening noise came through the speaker.
“Xiao Xi, where are you? Why is it so loud?” Shen Xian asked, frowning.
“Jie, it’s my birthday today. I’m at a bar with some friends. Come join us!” Jiang Xi’s voice floated in and out, clearly slurred—she had obviously been drinking quite a bit.
Shen Xian’s frown deepened. “How much have you had to drink? Where are you exactly? I’ll come get you.”
It was already late, and she didn’t feel safe letting Jiang Xi stay out alone, especially not at a bar.
“Qinghan, I’m heading out for a bit,” Shen Xian said to Lin Qinghan, who was sitting on the couch watching TV. “Xiao Xi seems drunk. I’m going to take her home and I’ll be back soon.”
“Okay. Just be careful,” Lin Qinghan replied without looking up, casually switching the channel.
Seeing that Lin Qinghan didn’t have much else to say, Shen Xian grabbed her car keys and headed out.
On the couch, Lin Qinghan tightened her grip on the remote. Truthfully, ever since Shen Xian answered that call, she had stopped paying attention to whatever was playing on TV. Her mind had been preoccupied with that phone call—especially when she realized it was Jiang Xi again. A faint unease stirred in her chest, but she quickly pushed it down. We’re already divorced, she reminded herself. She didn’t want to think too deeply about why she felt irritated. Frustrated, she flipped through a few more channels, staring blankly at the screen.
When Shen Xian arrived at the bar Jiang Xi had mentioned, her frown deepened even further. She had never been fond of bars, even in her past life. The loud, chaotic environment grated on her nerves. Swallowing her discomfort, she wove her way through the crowd, searching for Jiang Xi.
At one point, a flamboyant male Omega gave her a flirtatious look. Shen Xian nearly got goosebumps. She quickly explained that she already had a child almost four years old, then pushed her way through the crowd until she spotted Jiang Xi at a booth.
Jiang Xi was slumped over the table, clearly drunk. Around her were six or seven young men and women. One guy even had his arm draped casually over her shoulders. Shen Xian’s eyes narrowed. She strode over and brushed his arm away.
“Who the hell are you? Don’t touch me,” the man snapped.
He was nicknamed Kai, a notorious rich playboy in their circle.
Shen Xian stared him down calmly. “I’m her sister. Show some respect and keep your hands off her.”
Kai was clearly offended. “What’s that supposed to mean? We’re all friends here. Xiao Xi invited us to celebrate with her. You show up out of nowhere and act like we’re the villains?”
Ignoring him, Shen Xian picked up the wine bottle in Jiang Xi’s hand and leaned down to speak softly. “Xiao Xi, stop drinking. Look at you—you’re already this drunk. Let me take you home.”
Jiang Xi waved her off, still lying on the table. “Jie, it’s fine… They’re all people I know. Besides… I don’t want to go home. My parents and brother are all abroad. No one’s here to celebrate with me. That’s why I came out with my friends…”
“What about Miss Mu? Didn’t you ask her to come?” Shen Xian asked, knowing Mu Siyu was the closest to Jiang Xi. If it was her birthday, surely Mu Siyu would’ve known.
But as soon as Shen Xian mentioned Mu Siyu, tears welled up in Jiang Xi’s eyes. “She hasn’t talked to me in days. She doesn’t want me anymore.”
Shen Xian quickly grabbed a tissue to wipe her tears. Great, she thought. Now she’ll be even less willing to go home.
With no other option, she pulled out her phone. Mu Siyu had given her a number the last time they had dinner, though they hadn’t really spoken since. Still, seeing Jiang Xi like this, Shen Xian figured the two must have had a falling out.
She stepped a bit away from the noisy crowd and dialed Mu Siyu.
“Miss Mu? It’s Shen Xian. Xiao Xi’s at a bar right now. She had a lot to drink. If you’re free, could you come? Did you two get into a fight?” Shen Xian raised her voice to be heard over the blaring music.
Mu Siyu had been feeling unsettled these past few days. From being bombarded by texts and calls from Jiang Xi to suddenly hearing nothing—she was thrown off.
“I’ll be right there. Please keep an eye on her,” Mu Siyu replied, clearly anxious. As soon as she heard that Jiang Xi had drunk a lot, her so-called plan to “make her realize her feelings” went right out the window.
She was just afraid Jiang Xi might be in danger.
In under ten minutes, Mu Siyu arrived at the bar. She had come straight from the office and hadn’t even changed, still wearing a custom-tailored suit that looked completely out of place in the wild, noisy bar.
The moment her presence was noticed, the few friends around Jiang Xi deflated instantly. They all came from privileged backgrounds, but Mu Siyu was now the person in charge of the Mu Corporation—they couldn’t compete.
Seeing that Mu Siyu had arrived, Shen Xian immediately stepped aside to let her take over. Mu Siyu sat down beside Jiang Xi, who by now was so drunk she could barely keep her eyes open, muttering something incoherent with her face still buried in her arms.
Mu Siyu gently stroked her hair. “Xiao Xi, why did you drink so much? Are you feeling unwell?”
Even in her drunken stupor, Jiang Xi recognized that voice. She sniffled and lifted her head. “Mu-jie? You… you don’t want me anymore?”
Tears streamed down her cheeks. “I messaged you today… It’s my birthday. You’ve never forgotten before. You’re always the first to wish me happy birthday… but today you didn’t even reply… I don’t know what I did wrong. Don’t be mad at me, okay?”
Her head pounding, Jiang Xi curled up directly into Mu Siyu’s arms, wrapping her arms around her neck and sobbing nonstop.
Shen Xian and the others stood awkwardly nearby, exchanging uncomfortable glances. Clearly, this was a private moment between the two.
Mu Siyu gently held Jiang Xi close, one hand patting her back soothingly. “You didn’t do anything wrong, Xiao Xi. It’s my fault. Please don’t cry anymore, okay?”
Jiang Xi, her face buried in Mu Siyu’s chest, mumbled, “Then I don’t want to go home. I want to sleep with you tonight.”
Mu Siyu sighed softly. “Alright. Whatever you want. But no more drinking, okay? You’ll feel awful later tonight.”
Breaking the awkward silence, Shen Xian stepped forward. “Miss Mu, if there’s nothing else, we’ll be heading out now.”
Mu Siyu, finally realizing the others were still there, turned back to them. “Right. Thank you, Miss Shen, for taking care of her.”
Shen Xian waved it off. “No problem. We’re like sisters. It’s only natural. Oh—by the way, make sure to settle the bill before you leave.”
She glanced around at the drinks and the extravagant setting. Just this one evening likely cost over a hundred thousand yuan. Since Mu Siyu could afford it, she might as well cover it. Shen Xian still needed to save money for Tiantian’s school.
Mu Siyu stared at Shen Xian for a long moment before finally saying, “Okay.”
It wasn’t the bill that surprised her—but rather Shen Xian’s casual use of the word “sister.” So deep down, Shen Xian sees herself as an Omega? That one line threw Mu Siyu off.
But she didn’t have time to dwell on it. With Jiang Xi still clinging tightly to her, she called over the bar manager to settle the bill before gently helping the drunken girl to her feet.
Mu Siyu had brought her driver along, followed by a security car trailing casually behind. She carefully helped Jiang Xi into the back seat and then got in from the other side.
As soon as Mu Siyu settled into the seat, Jiang Xi leaned into her. Mu Siyu picked up the warm water her assistant had bought earlier and gently coaxed, holding it to Jiang Xi’s lips, “Xiao Xi, have some water first.
Otherwise your head will hurt badly later.”
Though her head was pounding, Jiang Xi still obediently opened her mouth and took small sips. Seeing that Jiang Xi was still willing to listen, Mu Siyu cradled her with one arm while using her free hand to unwrap the hangover pill her assistant had prepared, placing it in her palm.
“Xiao xi, take this too, alright? Otherwise you’ll feel awful tomorrow,” she coaxed softly.
Jiang Xi, still dazed and dizzy, squinted at the pill in Mu Siyu’s hand—it was practically doubled in her blurry vision. Even so, she leaned down and grabbed Mu Siyu’s hand with both of hers. Before Mu Siyu could react, she felt something soft against her palm—Jiang Xi had already rolled the pill into her mouth with the tip of her tongue.
Suppressing the flutter in her chest, Mu Siyu brought the water to her lips again. “Xiao Xi, drink a little more to help it go down.”
Jiang Xi swallowed the pill obediently, then leaned against Mu Siyu’s shoulder. Before long, she had drifted off to sleep.
Mu Siyu looked at her with a twinge of guilt. Her heart ached—she had been too harsh. This silly girl must have shed a lot of tears over her in the past few days.
About half an hour later, the car pulled up in front of Mu Siyu’s villa. Jiang Xi was still fast asleep. Mu Siyu quietly took off her heels, set them aside, and carefully carried the sleeping girl in her arms all the way to her bedroom.
She gently removed Jiang Xi’s makeup and took off her shoes and socks to make her more comfortable. But when it came to the rest of her clothes, Mu Siyu didn’t dare go any further. Jiang Xi never liked wearing pheromone-blocking patches, and the faint scent of lychee already lingered in the air. Mu Siyu quickly turned on the ventilation fan and sprayed a generous amount of suppressant throughout the room. Only then did she change into her own sleepwear, grab her laptop, and settle on the bed. There were still some proposals she urgently needed to review, and she didn’t want to leave the room in case Jiang Xi woke up.
Around 1 a.m., Jiang Xi stirred awake, likely thanks to the hangover medicine. Her head didn’t hurt as much, and the first thing she saw was Mu Siyu still working beside her.
Watching Mu Siyu’s focused expression as she stared at the screen, Jiang Xi felt a flash of jealousy toward the laptop in her arms. She crawled over quietly and wrapped her arms around Mu Siyu’s waist from behind, whining softly, “Mu-jie, you didn’t even help Xiao Xi change clothes.”
“You’re a big girl now. You should change on your own. Does your head still hurt?”
Hearing that, Jiang Xi pouted and nodded pitifully. “It hurts a lot. You don’t even feel sorry for me. You used to always prepare a birthday gift for me every year… but this year, you didn’t even say happy birthday. I waited for you all night yesterday—not even a single message.”
The more she spoke, the more wronged she felt, until she finally burst into tears while hugging Mu Siyu tightly.
Mu Siyu couldn’t focus with work anymore. She quickly set the laptop aside and gently patted Jiang Xi’s back, coaxing her softly, “It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have treated you that way. Come, let me see where it hurts.”
Jiang Xi nuzzled her face into Mu Siyu’s neck and mumbled in a muffled voice, “It all hurts. It’s all your fault. Xiao Xi feels like she’s dying.”
“Alright, then let me massage it for you, okay?” Mu Siyu began gently massaging both sides of Jiang Xi’s head while saying, “Actually, I did prepare a gift for Xiao Xi. I just didn’t get a chance to give it to you.”
Jiang Xi’s eyes immediately brightened. She sat up, shaking Mu Siyu’s arm. “Where is it? Where did Mu-jie hide it?”
Holding her close, Mu Siyu looked her in the eyes. “Xiao Xi really wants it?”
Jiang Xi nodded enthusiastically. She had planned to make Mu Siyu coax her for a bit longer, but now that she knew Mu-jie hadn’t forgotten her birthday, she was already considering staying at her place for a few more nights before forgiving her.
Mu Siyu’s lips curled into a faint smile. She leaned in closer, their faces drawing nearer until even the tips of their noses touched. Then, gently, she pressed a kiss to Jiang Xi’s lips.
Jiang Xi froze.
Mu-jie just kissed her? On the lips?!
Her face turned crimson in an instant. She stammered, “Mu-jie… what does that mean?”
“It’s your birthday gift. I just didn’t know if you’d like it,” Mu Siyu said, her gaze lingering warmly on Jiang Xi’s blushing face. “I’m giving myself to Xiao Xi. From now on, you’ll have an Alpha of your own.”
Jiang Xi’s mind went completely blank. Was Mu-jie saying she wanted to be her Alpha?
She sat there in stunned silence for a moment, staring at Mu Siyu’s lips. Then, with a quiet pout, she mumbled, “I didn’t even feel it just now… that was Xiao Xi’s first kiss…”
“My bad. I was too hasty.” Mu Siyu chuckled softly and leaned in again. “Let’s take it slow this time, okay?”
She didn’t wait for a reply. This time, the kiss was no longer a feather-light touch but deeper, a little more assertive. Jiang Xi melted instantly in her arms. Only when her breathing grew uneven did Mu Siyu finally let go.
Jiang Xi leaned into her, panting softly. Mu Siyu stroked her hair gently and asked, “Did Xiao Xi like that?”
Jiang Xi buried her face into her chest and gave a small, shy nod.
Mu Siyu’s gaze grew even more tender. “Actually, I prepared another gift too.”
She reached over to the nightstand and took a small box, placing it in Jiang Xi’s hands and whispering into her ear, “Open it.”
Jiang Xi hesitated for a moment, cheeks still burning, but eventually opened the box.
Inside was a ring. The diamond was uniquely shaped, resembling a lychee from a certain angle, set on a platinum band that made it sparkle even more brilliantly.
“Rings aren’t something you give lightly,” Mu Siyu said, holding the ring in her hand. “Are you sure you want to accept it?”
Jiang Xi looked at the ring, then back at Mu Siyu, and finally nodded.
Mu Siyu slipped the ring onto her index finger.
Jiang Xi blinked. “Shouldn’t it go on the ring finger?”
Mu Siyu kissed her lightly on the forehead and smiled. “Is Xiao Xi hoping I’ll propose right now?”
Blushing furiously, Jiang Xi buried her face in her arms. “I wasn’t! You’re teasing me again!”
Mu Siyu gently patted her back. “Alright, it’s my fault. This setup’s too plain anyway. When I propose, I want the whole world to know that Xiao Xi is my little princess.”
Jiang Xi flushed all the way to her ears. “Mu-jie, stop talking. I’m not listening anymore!”
“Okay, okay, I’ll stop. It’s almost 3 a.m. Go shower, and let’s get some rest.”
Jiang Xi nodded quickly and escaped to the bathroom.
When she came out in her pajamas, she saw Mu Siyu lying in bed watching her. Her ears turned red again.
Mu Siyu looked at her with amusement. “Didn’t Xiao Xi used to love clinging to me at bedtime? What’s with all the hesitation now?”
Jiang Xi mumbled as she walked to the bed, “That was different. Back then I was sleeping with Jiejie… now it’s with… with…”
“With who?” Mu Siyu asked with a teasing smile as she pulled her into her arms. She kissed the corner of Jiang Xi’s lips gently and whispered, “Goodnight, Xiao Xi.”
“…Goodnight, Jiejie.”
