Transmigrated into a Scummy Alpha Playboy in Ancient Times (GL) - Chapter 27
After Su Muyu got into the carriage, she noticed Shen Xingyue was sitting a whole person’s width away from her. On the way here, she’d been nestled in Shen Xingyue’s arms, with her hands being warmed. And now, just because she had exchanged a few words with the Fifth Princess, Shen Xingyue was still sulking?
Su Muyu wasn’t sure why, but she found Shen Xingyue sulking on her own kind of… adorable. Still, she didn’t want the tension to continue between them. After all, she had been in the wrong earlier—she hadn’t told the truth about her conversation with Shen Yijia.
She shifted slightly closer and leaned gently against Shen Xingyue’s shoulder. “What are you thinking about? Sitting so far away—don’t want to talk to me anymore?”
Shen Xingyue glanced down at her and replied calmly, “Nothing. Just thinking.”
“Stop thinking so much. Ever since we left the plum garden, you haven’t really spoken to me. You didn’t hold me while we walked. You’re avoiding me again… Are you tired of me already? Do you want me to go back to Tinglan Pavilion?” Su Muyu had meant to come over and coax her, but somehow, the words ended up sounding like an accusation.
Shen Xingyue let out a laugh—equal parts amused and exasperated. So she was getting blamed now? Still, Su Muyu saying that meant her efforts these past few days weren’t in vain. She was finally daring to show her temper and push back a little.
Shen Xingyue reached out and wrapped an arm around her waist, leaning in close and locking eyes with her. “When did I ever say I wanted you to go back? Do you really think I could bear to let you go?”
“How would I know if you could or couldn’t? You haven’t said a word to me all this time,” Su Muyu mumbled, trying half-heartedly to wriggle out of her hold—but Shen Xingyue only pulled her in tighter.
Shen Xingyue’s hand, resting at her waist, rubbed gently at the small of her back as she chuckled, “How come I never realized before that you’re so good at flipping the blame?”
The movement made Su Muyu’s body go weak. She leaned against Shen Xingyue, breath hitching slightly. Her voice softened even more. “Don’t touch me there… I don’t have any strength left.”
Instead of letting go, Shen Xingyue mischievously rubbed twice more and teased, “Good. That way you won’t go running off to talk to Shen Yijia and make me jealous again.”
Su Muyu’s ears flushed red. She tried to push Shen Xingyue away, but her strength had long since melted under the teasing. Her body was too soft to resist now, especially when Shen Xingyue had touched such a sensitive spot. Her eyes began to redden with frustration. “You’re a noble princess—how can you be so petty? I only said a few words to her, and this is how you treat me?”
Seeing her eyes redden, Shen Xingyue quickly softened and pulled her properly into her arms, coaxing gently, “Alright, alright, I was wrong. Don’t be mad, okay? I only touched your back, I didn’t do anything else.”
“You still wanted to do something else! No wonder you like reading those picture books… Shen Xingyue, you’re absolutely shameless!” Su Muyu glared at her, listing off all the evidence of Shen Xingyue’s indecency.
“Fine, it’s all my fault. I’m not decent. But don’t get angry, alright? It’s not good for your health. If anything happens to you, I’d be heartbroken.” Shen Xingyue’s voice turned soft and coaxing as she gently stroked Su Muyu’s back, no longer daring to touch the sensitive spot.
Su Muyu gave her a glare, then finally curled up against her like a cushion. Shen Xingyue had bullied her until she had no strength left—she deserved to be used as a pillow.
Shen Xingyue didn’t mind. She was all smiles as she wrapped her arms around Su Muyu, then took her hands and warmed them between her palms. She murmured on like a mother hen, “Still so cold. That means your circulation’s poor. I’ll have the kitchen prepare more nourishing meals tonight. And once the weather improves, I’ll take you out walking every day—that’s good for your body too.”
Su Muyu listened to her rambling, her hands wrapped warmly in Shen Xingyue’s. The warmth of her embrace was comforting, and before long, she drifted off to sleep, nestled against her shoulder.
When Shen Xingyue noticed she’d fallen asleep, she gently unfastened her cloak and draped it over Su Muyu, afraid she’d catch cold while sleeping like that.
Later, Cui Zhu came in to replenish the charcoal in the brazier. She didn’t dare look directly, but as she placed the charcoal into the brazier, she snuck a glance out of the corner of her eye—and saw her young mistress sleeping soundly in Shen Xingyue’s arms, cloaked in the princess’s own mantle.
Cui Zhu quickly looked away and lowered her head. She didn’t dare linger and quietly retreated.
She’d heard before that some masters conducted “intimate affairs” inside carriages. From that one glance just now… her lady looked exactly like someone who had been completely “bullied” and left without the strength to sit upright. And for Shen Xingyue to personally wrap her in her cloak?
To Cui Zhu, that could only mean one thing: the princess had definitely messed up her lady’s clothing inside.
By the time Cui Zhu got off the carriage, her face was burning red with the images she had just imagined. Even after returning to the carriage reserved for the maids, her expression still hadn’t returned to normal.
Seeing her like that, Yi Liu looked at her suspiciously and asked, “What’s wrong with you? Did you light yourself on fire while adding charcoal? Do the Princess and Consort need tea? Before we left the estate, I made sure to prepare some—I was going to bring it over shortly.”
The moment she heard that Yi Liu was planning to go over, Cui Zhu quickly grabbed her wrist and shook her head, panicking. “Sister Yi Liu, don’t go over there. It’s… not really appropriate right now. Her Highness and the Princess Consort are, um… they’re…”
She didn’t finish the sentence, but her flushed face said everything. After all, anyone brought out personally by Shen Xingyue was no ordinary servant—they were all clever and well-versed in how things worked. No one was naïve.
Yi Liu instantly understood. She gave a dry cough and said, “Ah, I see. Her Highness is… busy. Then we’d best not disturb them.”
“Yes, yes!” chimed in the matron who had earlier delivered a sound slap to Su Muxue. She nodded enthusiastically, a wide grin plastered across her face. The Princess doting so openly on the Consort—what a win for her today. She’d stood up for the Consort, and now that might leave a lasting good impression. A double victory.
At that moment, Shen Xingyue was still carefully cradling Su Muyu in her arms, simply wanting her to sleep more comfortably. She had no idea the maids outside had already filled in a hundred and one scandalous “bedchamber tales” in their minds.
The road back wasn’t easy. The snow piled on the path made the driver cautious, and so it took nearly an hour and a half before they finally arrived at the Prince’s Manor.
When the carriage came to a steady stop at the entrance, Wenyou gently knocked on the side of the carriage and slightly lifted the curtain.
He was about to speak when Shen Xingyue raised a finger to her lips, signaling for silence. Wenyou quickly understood and whispered, “Your Highness, we’ve arrived.”
Shen Xingyue nodded, then looked down at Su Muyu, still sound asleep in her arms. After a moment of consideration, she wrapped another cloak around Su Muyu and then, without hesitation, scooped her up in her arms to carry her out.
It was only because her body had been enhanced by the system—matching the physique of men in this world—that she could lift Su Muyu so effortlessly.
Wenyou was momentarily stunned to see the Princess carrying the Consort herself, but quickly recovered and, like a loyal attendant, hurried over to lift the curtain all the way.
Shen Xingyue stepped onto the stool placed beneath the carriage, holding Su Muyu securely. With one step, she was on solid ground. The sight of her carrying someone down caught everyone by surprise.
All the maids and guards instantly lowered their heads, none daring to look directly at her.
Shen Xingyue’s original intention was not to wake Su Muyu, but the sudden gust of cold air outside stirred her. Feeling the chill, Su Muyu slowly opened her eyes in a daze—only to find herself being carried in Shen Xingyue’s arms, surrounded by maids and guards.
Still half-asleep and flustered by the situation, she instinctively tightened her hold around Shen Xingyue’s neck with one hand and, with the other, gave her a few weak thumps on the chest. “What are you doing? Put me down! We’re still outside!”
Shen Xingyue wasn’t the least bit angry at being hit. In fact, she found Su Muyu even more adorable like this—like a little kitten with its fur bristled, swatting at her with soft paws. Not only did it not hurt, it actually felt kind of nice.
“I’m already holding you, and the ground’s too slippery. I’ll just carry you inside, alright?” she said softly, her voice soothing.
Clearly, she had no intention of putting Su Muyu down any time soon.
With that, she carried her straight through the gates of the Prince’s Manor—right into the warm, quiet shelter of home.
Su Muyu was so embarrassed her neck turned completely red. She buried her entire face into Shen Xingyue’s shoulder, arms wrapped tightly around her neck as if doing so would make her invisible to the maids and guards surrounding them.
Shen Xingyue walked the entire way back with a smile tugging at her lips, carrying her all the way into the bedchamber.
Wenyou looked like he’d just stumbled upon the juiciest gossip of the season. Seeing how their princess was willing to endure kicks and scolding just to coax her consort, Wenyou had a sudden realization: from now on, in Feixue Courtyard, it might just be the Princess Consort calling the shots.
The other maids and guards following behind also kept their gazes lowered. No one dared sneak a look, quietly trailing Shen Xingyue back toward the residence.
Having teased her little “kitten” along the way, Shen Xingyue was in a particularly good mood. Her steps were light as she carried Su Muyu into the bedroom. Even when she gently set her down by the bed, Su Muyu still had her face buried in her chest, refusing to open her eyes.
Yi Liu and the others entered shortly after to tend to the charcoal brazier, keeping their presence to an absolute minimum as they quietly got the fire going.
Shen Xingyue looked down at the girl still clinging to her. Chuckling softly, she leaned in and deliberately rubbed Su Muyu’s lower back again, whispering sweetly, “Still clinging to me after being carried all the way back? Don’t want to let go of me?”
Su Muyu’s body softened again, and with her face still flushed, she finally opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Shen Xingyue’s teasing smile—and then, just beyond her, Yi Liu and the others crouched by the brazier.
Realizing Shen Xingyue had said that in front of them, she fumed. With a huff, she lifted a leg and kicked her lightly.
Shen Xingyue glanced down to see a clear footprint now marked on her teal robe. She laughed again. Her kitten had flared up, giving her a soft little kick. But instead of being annoyed, Shen Xingyue found it endearing.
She reached out and grabbed Su Muyu’s ankle, gently tugging her back into her arms. Then she pointed to the muddy footprint on her dress. “You’ve dirtied my robe. How do you plan to make up for it?”
“In your dreams! I’m not paying you back,” Su Muyu said, squirming as she tried to escape. Her ankle was still in Shen Xingyue’s grasp, and with the others still in the room, she flushed deeper with embarrassment. How could Shen Xingyue still act so shameless?
“Fine then. I’ll just take interest myself,” Shen Xingyue replied with a grin.
She released Su Muyu’s ankle only to pull her further into her arms. Her hands once again wandered down to Su Muyu’s waist, gently rubbing that same sensitive spot. Within seconds, Su Muyu was red from the tips of her ears down, her body softening in Shen Xingyue’s arms.
“Mmm—stop it. Don’t rub there,” Su Muyu whimpered softly, unable to stop the sound that escaped her lips.
As soon as she heard the involuntary sound she’d made, she was mortified. Her whole face burned, and she buried herself even deeper into Shen Xingyue’s chest.
Yi Liu, still crouched by the brazier, broke into a cold sweat. Thank goodness she managed to get the fire lit in time. She and the other maids quickly finished their task and slipped out of the room, afraid that if they stayed even a second longer, they’d be personally kicked out by Shen Xingyue.
Seeing Su Muyu genuinely embarrassed now, Shen Xingyue finally softened her tone. “Okay, okay. I’ll stop. Let me help you take off your cloaks so you can lie down and rest.”
Still cradling her gently, Shen Xingyue carefully undid both of Su Muyu’s outer cloaks and folded them aside. Su Muyu was still hiding in her embrace, so she coaxed again, “Why don’t you take off your outer clothes too? We’ve been out all day—lie down and get some proper rest. Do you want me to help?”
Su Muyu was already red to her ears. Hearing that, she immediately glared at Shen Xingyue and gave her a firm push. “I don’t need your help! You’re so shameless!”
