- Chapter 1 - Transmigrated as the Villain
Demon Realm, Young Lord’s front sleeping quarters.
In the center of the cold, eerie palace, a cat demon dressed in a dark black robe sat on a sandalwood chair. Supporting her right cheek with one hand, her body slightly tilted, she was dozing with her eyes closed.
The cat demon’s dark hair was loose, not tied up, and lay lazily on her shoulder. A pair of fuzzy black cat ears sprouted from her hair, and they would tremble lightly at the slightest sound nearby.
A wolf demon maid stood beside her. Suddenly hearing a commotion at the door, she looked up to see a young demon-slayer, tightly bound in a Demon-Binding Rope, being reluctantly escorted towards them by six demon race guards.
The wolf demon maid leaned down, close to the cat demon’s ear, and softly reminded her, “Young Lord, the beauty has been brought. It’s time to set the Master Servant Bl00d Pact.”
Hearing this, the pitch-black cat ears in the cat demon’s hair twitched slightly. She slowly opened her eyes, and a look of confusion flowed from her emerald-green beast eyes.
Lin Yanyu had just woken up from a bewildering dream. Before she could fully regain her senses, she heard a respectful female voice urging her in her ear.
Set what pact?
Master Servant Bl00d Pact?!
Why the hell set this thing?!!
Lin Yanyu asked herself a triple question, rubbed her eyes in shock, then patted her face and touched the cat ears in her hair. Only then did she feel somewhat awake.
She slowly recalled her previous life. Although she was a cat demon, she had successfully joined the demon slayer’s permanent establishment. During a solo demon slaying mission, she was attacked by demons and died instantly.
At the time, she was trapped and engulfed by soaring demonic flames. The memory of her body being incinerated by the fierce fire still lingered.
But now, not only was she alive again, but her mind also contained a segment of unfamiliar memory the memory of the original owner of this body, Xuan Lin, the Young Lord of the Demon Realm.
Muttering the name “Xuan Lin” once and browsing through a bit of the newly acquired memory, Lin Yanyu was so frightened she nearly jumped out of the chair.
Isn’t this the number one villain from the yuri angst novel she had just finished reading the one who forcibly set the Master Servant Bl00d Pact with the female lead, toyed with her feelings, and was ultimately stabbed to death by the blackened female lead?!
Looking at the demon slayer tied up below the steps, Lin Yanyu’s mouth twitched.
According to the original plot, the original owner encountered the female lead while touring the human world. To satisfy her selfish desires, she abducted the pure and beautiful female lead back to the Demon Realm and forced her to set the Master Servant Bl00d Pact.
After setting the pact, the original owner made the female lead “serve her in bed” according to “indescribable” picture books. After much torment, she took the female lead, who was only seventeen years old.
Lin Yanyu had cursed the villain as “not human” when she first read this part of the story.
She never expected that after her death, she would transmigrate into this villain whose mind was full of colorful waste material!
After recalling the current timeline, she could only be thankful that the female lead was the first person and also the last that the original owner had harmed. Everything hadn’t happened yet, and there was still time to make amends.
“Young Lord?” Seeing Lin Yanyu’s grim expression, the wolf demon maid beside her asked with concern, “Are you feeling unwell?”
Lin Yanyu shook her head and shifted her gaze back to the demon-slayer.
This was the female lead of the angst novel, the second miss of the Tan Clan, a family of demon-slayers, Tan Changxin, the original owner’s official CP.
She saw that Tan Changxin’s dark hair was tied up high in a single bun with a silver hairpin. Beneath her willow leaf eyebrows, her almond eyes were slightly filled with rage. Her mouth was gagged with a piece of white silk, preventing her from speaking.
Even while tightly bound, she did not lose the poise of a noble family’s daughter. The purple-red robe embroidered with Epiphyllum patterns, when worn by her, actually gave off an aura of authority befitting a superior.
Lin Yanyu sighed inwardly and rose to walk towards Tan Changxin.
The Master-Servant Bl00d Pact was absolutely out of the question; she could not become Tan Changxin’s master.
Demon slayers who wore the purple red robe with Epiphyllum patterns were the elite of the younger generation powerful and proud. Tan Changxin was naturally no exception. According to the original plot, from the moment the Master Servant Bl00d Pact was sealed, she endured humiliation and utterly loathed the original owner.
In her previous life, Lin Yanyu had spent years on missions, so her mind was quick. As she strode up to Tan Changxin, she already had a plan.
If she wanted to survive, she had to stop the source of the tragedy early.
Under the gaze of all her subordinates, while recalling the original owner’s persona, she pinched Tan Changxin’s chin, sized her up with interest, and, under the scrutiny of Tan Changxin’s eyes that were practically spitting fire, she laughed, “She’s indeed a little beauty. This Young Lord likes it.”
After saying this with a smile, Lin Yanyu released her demonic energy from her fingertips, forming sharp claws. She slashed at the Demon Binding Rope, severing it with a single strike, and then roughly flicked it onto the floor.
The movement was clean and swift, yet Lin Yanyu’s heart was bleeding as the sharp claw touched the rope.
This was a Demon Binding Rope she had saved half a year’s salary to afford, yet the original owner’s small vault was piled with a whole half chest of them!
Moreover, she had to viciously and heartlessly sever the Demon Binding Rope with a single claw instead of slowly untying it, or else she would break the original owner’s persona, and the demons around her would definitely become suspicious.
Lin Yanyu: Meow, I’m so angry!!
While her inner self was howling like a groundhog, Lin Yanyu took Tan Changxin’s hand, rubbed her slender fingers, observed them closely for a moment, and then deliberately said with distaste, “Such a delicate little beauty must have been pampered. I’m afraid she can’t handle the work of a servant. This Young Lord is no longer interested in setting a Master Servant Bl00d Pact with her.”
Tan Changxin’s fingers were fair, her skin delicate, with only calluses where she held a writing brush. Although she had already clenched a small blade between her fingers before her hand was taken, she had not yet experienced real combat and was quite soft-hearted. Otherwise, she could have seized this opportunity to injure the original owner and escape.
Walking around Tan Changxin twice, Lin Yanyu suddenly removed the white silk gag from her mouth and asked, “Little beauty, do you like cats?”
She remembered the book mentioning multiple times that Tan Changxin fed stray cats and only chose cats as her feeding subjects.
Tan Changxin shot her a wary look but remained silent.
“No answer means you like them,” Lin Yanyu nodded in satisfaction, tossed the silk gag aside, quickly transformed into her original form, and leaped into her arms, deliberately softening her voice to flirt, “Hurry up and pet me! Once you pet me, I’ll be your little kitty!”
The instant the black shadow leaped into her arms, Tan Changxin instinctively caught it. When she regained her composure, she found a docile and naive black cat nestled in her arms. Its big, green eyes were gazing at her, filled with pure expectation.
Tan Changxin: “…?”
The prestigious Young Lord actually initiated an approach to a human all the demons in the sleeping quarters were stunned.
Only the wolf demon maid reacted and quickly urged the still dazed Tan Changxin, “What are you waiting for! It is your fortune that the Young Lord is in a good mood. Hurry up and be proactive!”
“Yaozhi, you and the others, withdraw,” Lin Yanyu, worried that too many people might ruin her plan, quickly ordered.
Hearing this, Tan Changxin scoffed. After the wolf demon led the other demons out of the sleeping quarters, when she met the eyes of the “black fluff ball” in her arms again, although a thousand times unwilling, she still stroked the cat’s fur.
With her current strength, she couldn’t deal with this demon yet. Just petting the cat was better than becoming a slave and being thoroughly humiliated by a demon.
Lin Yanyu was a black cat demon in her previous life and was very confident in her flirting skills. Tan Changxin merely gave a perfunctory stroke, and she immediately narrowed her eyes, letting out soft, fine meows. While rubbing against Tan Changxin, she also wrapped her tail around her wrist.
She distinctly felt Tan Changxin’s hand stiffen.
So Lin Yanyu went all out. Her fluffy head actively nudged Tan Changxin’s chin, purring comfortably as she rubbed.
In fact, Lin Yanyu had a different idea than just letting the female lead go.
Based on her years of novel reading experience, sticking close to the protagonist after transmigrating, even if she was just slacking off, would ensure her survival until the end.
Her career as a demon slayer in her previous life had stripped her of almost all desires. She dared not love, dared not leave too many attachments, simply because she didn’t know which field mission would suddenly be her last if she died, those close to her would surely suffer immensely.
For her, hovering on the brink of death was as painful as death itself. Since fate had been kind enough to let her transmigrate to another world, she naturally wanted a more stable life.
However, if she wanted to follow the female lead all the way, she would have to go to the human world. Yet, the era in which the story took place was a time of tense relations between humans and demons.
Humans detested demons, specifically training demon-slayers to capture any demon on sight. Demons, on the other hand, treated humans as food and playthings to satisfy their desires. In short, very few humans who entered the Demon Realm had a good end.
Only one type of demon could move freely in the human world: the “Demon Retainers” who had set a Master Servant Bl00d Pact with a demon slayer.
However, once the Master Servant Bl00d Pact was sealed, it lasted a lifetime and could only be broken if one party died. For the demon race, the Master-Servant Bl00d Pact was a deeply humiliating mark.
But to Lin Yanyu, the Master Servant Bl00d Pact was no problem at all. It was just like a permanent contract in the public sector working for the organization until retirement. She genuinely didn’t care.
She just wanted to gamble on one thing following the female lead would ensure her survival.
Besides, Lin Yanyu vaguely felt that even staying in the Demon Realm might not guarantee a peaceful survival until the end.
After all, in the later stages of the novel, the female lead led the demon slayers to invade the Demon Realm, carrying out mass slaughter and only stopping after forcing the Lord of the Demon Realm to swear an oath of peace between the two realms. Even with time rewound to the beginning of the novel, Lin Yanyu couldn’t be certain that choosing to stay in the Demon Realm would avert the same ending.
“Actually, this Young Lord wants to go to the human world for fun and intends to find a guide familiar with the human world,” Lin Yanyu said after Tan Changxin had relaxed. “But judging by your reaction, this Young Lord’s invitation method must be wrong.”
Tan Changxin didn’t speak, staring at the cat tail wrapped around her wrist, her fingertips occasionally touching the cat fur, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
“So, this Young Lord wants to compensate you,” Lin Yanyu continued. “As long as you take this Young Lord to the human world, this Young Lord can consider protecting you along the way.”
“What is your true intention for wanting to go to the human world so badly?” Tan Changxin asked in a deep voice.
“I just want to see the human world, meow” Lin Yanyu softened her voice, rolled over in her arms, revealing her belly to flirt, “You’re a demon-slayer, right? If you’re really worried, this Young Lord can lower herself to be your Demon Retainer, alright? Do you know how to set the Master Servant Bl00d Pact?”
Tan Changxin was startled, eyed her suspiciously, then shook her head to decline, “You are the Young Lord of the Demon Realm. Setting a Master-Servant Pact with you is equivalent to making an enemy of the Demon Realm.”
“Little beauty is so thoughtful,” Lin Yanyu chuckled, reminding her unhurriedly, “But you don’t have a choice. Either offend the Demon Realm, set the Master-Servant Pact with this Young Lord, and take this Young Lord to the human world; or offend this Young Lord…”
She suddenly shifted back into human form, pushed Tan Changxin against a column in the hall, lifted her chin, showed a fierce, villainous smile, and finished her sentence, “…and serve me in bed tonight!”
After speaking, Lin Yanyu instantly released her aura, controlling her demonic energy to surround Tan Changxin in a ring, forcing her to let out a painful, soft moan.
“A little beauty like you must be smart. You don’t need this Young Lord to tell you what to choose to save your life, do you?” Lin Yanyu asked viciously.
Completely unprepared for her to force her to become her master, Tan Changxin’s eyes widened. Feeling that she had to say something or risk being defiled, she reluctantly agreed, “Fine, I promise you! But give me a quiet room.”
Only then did Lin Yanyu release her hand with satisfaction, leading her directly towards the depths of the sleeping quarters.
The original owner relied on combat for cultivation, so where would she have a quiet room? The entire sleeping quarters was probably quietest around her own couch.
However, upon arriving at the couch’s location, Lin Yanyu glanced at the books scattered everywhere, saw that the covers of every book contained “indescribable” images, and her face instantly darkened.
She immediately pushed Tan Changxin to the outside of the curtained area and quickly gathered the books to tidy up.
While tidying, she soothed Tan Changxin, “The quiet room is too messy, wait for a moment.”
Tan Changxin: “…”
She had already seen the couch earlier! This demon actually lied to her that this was a quiet room!
Her master taught her correctly: the demon race is indeed steeped in desire. This demon claimed she wanted to be her Demon Retainer, but wasn’t it still because she wanted to…
Thinking this, Tan Changxin trembled with rage. Beyond her anger, she felt an intense bashfulness, and her heart pounded.
Tonight, she was afraid she couldn’t escape!
