Transmigrated into the Film Empress Sister's Sugar Baby Alpha (GL) - Chapter 10
Shen Yishu slept soundly.
All her years of schooling taught her one thing: the sky could fall, but you had to be awake to hold it up.
However, no one at school would ever nudge her awake from her sleep.
Ji Xiangyu’s sleep quality had always been terrible. A decade-long career had sharpened her mind, at the cost of sleep. Since she could remember, she had never shared a bed with anyone, so she naturally didn’t know how she slept.
Shen Yishu stared at the face nestled in her arm, deep in thought.
She vaguely remembered that when they went to sleep, a vast Milky Way separated them on the 2-meter-wide mattress. Now, the Milky Way was gone, replaced by a comet colliding with a planet, intimately pressed together.
The result of two planets colliding was utter destruction. The result of a little Alpha and a little Omega pressing together was a blurry, crater-like mess in the waking person’s head.
If Ji Xiangyu shed her cold demeanor when tired, then when asleep, all that remained was quiet submission. Leaning against Shen Yishu’s shoulder, wrapped in her own blanket, lying on her side, breathing steadily, she slept very peacefully.
Because both were reserved, Shen Yishu slept near the edge of the bed, leaving only a few centimeters of space. Now that Ji Xiangyu had moved close to her, she had almost nowhere to escape.
Shallow breaths puffed onto her exposed shoulder. Shen Yishu’s body temperature was on the warmer side, and her blanket only covered her below the shoulders. The air conditioning made her exposed shoulder feel cool, while the breaths were warm. It didn’t feel like much when she was asleep, but waking up, she felt goosebumps all over.
Shen Yishu was considering the possibility of moving to the other side to sleep. Ji Xiangyu looked like she was in a deep slumber, so if she got up, she probably wouldn’t wake Ji Xiangyu.
Before she could act, there was a sound outside the door. The second bedroom door made a noise, then the master bedroom door was knocked on.
“Sister Yu, we found out which media outlet it is, but we didn’t catch the person who took the photos. Should we call the police?” the manager asked.
Ji Xiangyu woke up with a start. Shen Yishu had kept her eyes open and clearly saw Ji Xiangyu’s unconscious resistance, her expression tense, only relaxing when she saw Shen Yishu.
“Which one?” she asked in a hoarse voice.
“Tianle,” the manager sighed from outside.
As soon as the words fell, Ji Xiangyu frowned.
“No need.”
She understood who had called those people.
She sat up from the bed, got off, turned off the floor lamp, opened the door, and then closed it.
A series of actions performed so naturally and smoothly, completely unlike someone who had just woken up.
“If they want money, don’t give it to them. The photos can’t be bought,” Ji Xiangyu rubbed her temples, looking extremely tired.
She smelled of Shen Yishu’s cedar scent. Fortunately, her manager was a Beta female and couldn’t smell the pheromones on her.
“Which direction should we take with emergency public relations?” The manager, Xu Fang, had been with Ji Xiangyu for eight years and knew Ji Xiangyu didn’t like people asking about her private life, so she didn’t ask questions, instead asking for solutions first.
“…” Ji Xiangyu paused for two seconds, “I’ll tell you tomorrow.”
The manager saw her tired face and didn’t insist, asking worriedly, “Are you still not sleeping well recently?”
Ji Xiangyu’s hand, rubbing her temples, paused.
She seemed to have slept quite well tonight. If her manager hadn’t knocked, she probably would have slept until dawn.
“Same as usual,” Ji Xiangyu didn’t say more, “Be careful on your way back.”
The manager nodded. Her staying here was simply to find the person. Once the person was found, she should leave.
By the time the manager had completely left, Ji Xiangyu still hadn’t fully recovered.
She suffered from insomnia and many dreams, but tonight she had no dreams.
When she returned to the master bedroom, Shen Yishu was still awake. Since the matter concerned her, she naturally listened carefully.
Seeing Ji Xiangyu return and turn on the floor lamp, she nervously watched Ji Xiangyu.
“Did you catch them?”
“You don’t need to repay that money,” every word Ji Xiangyu spoke was difficult, “This matter is a bit troublesome. It had nothing to do with you originally, but you got dragged into it accidentally.”
Ji Xiangyu sat at the foot of the bed, the dim light illuminating half of her face, casting a slender silhouette against the wall. She wore a black camisole nightgown of a different style than yesterday’s, her shoulder blades like a butterfly about to take flight, resting below her slender neck.
During the day, she was aloof, distant, the moon that never set in countless people’s hearts, a mountain that juniors and seniors couldn’t bypass.
And now, Shen Yishu glimpsed vulnerability in the mottled light, like a swiftly swimming fish, too fast to discern clearly.
“I don’t have much fame. Even if I trend on hot searches, it’ll be me piggybacking on your popularity,” Shen Yishu stated openly.
She hadn’t learned how to be a celebrity yet. Her only experience was as a rare, genuinely ordinary person in the entertainment industry who occasionally glanced at hot searches in her previous life.
“You’re quite open-minded,” Ji Xiangyu stretched lazily.
The feeling of vulnerability was fleeting, giving Shen Yishu the illusion that she had misjudged.
Shen Yishu gave a hum, pulled the blanket back over her, and prepared to sleep. She lived in a communal dorm in college, so she wasn’t resistant to sharing a room. Sharing a bed with Ji Xiangyu was like getting a twin room with a friend at a hotel, each sleeping in their own bed.
—Anyway, there was a meter of space between them.
But Ji Xiangyu stopped short of getting back into bed.
Shen Yishu followed her gaze to the crumpled blanket beside her. Film Empress Ji had only tossed the blanket aside when she got up, making it obvious where the person wrapped in it had been sleeping.
Shen Yishu: …
She met Ji Xiangyu’s suspicious gaze, her wet eyes looking utterly innocent.
“Did I just move over in my sleep?” Ji Xiangyu asked.
Shen Yishu nodded wildly.
“…” Ji Xiangyu thought she couldn’t share a bed with Shen Yishu tonight.
The temptation of a good night’s sleep was too great. She wanted to sleep well for a bit longer. There was no other opportunity like this; she couldn’t just call Shen Yishu over again tomorrow to sleep together.
The second bedroom had been slept in by her manager, so it was understandable that she didn’t want to sleep there herself.
Thinking this made her feel much more justified. She sat on the bed, pulled the blanket towards herself, closed her eyes, and said nothing more.
In the early morning, just as the sun was rising, Shen Yishu was nudged awake again.
It was even worse than last time. Last time, it was just a face rubbing against her; this time, a leg was directly flung onto Shen Yishu’s blanket. The slender, long thigh just rested there, but it felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, pressing uncomfortably on Shen Yishu.
Her mind was uncomfortable, and her body was uncomfortable too.
Remaining in one position for so long, Shen Yishu felt her body was almost numb. Her mind was also uncomfortable. An Alpha who had just passed their susceptible period, an Omega still in the continuous estrus period, and they had marked each other.
The result was that whoever was awake was out of luck.
Finally, Ji Xiangyu fully woke up. She had slept exceptionally sweetly last night, and even her gloomy mood from yesterday had improved significantly.
Until she noticed Shen Yishu’s resentful gaze.
Ji Xiangyu raised an eyebrow: “You didn’t sleep well?”
Shen Yishu dared not be angry, nor speak. She still had the IOU she hadn’t gotten back and Ji Xiangyu’s promise, so she couldn’t complain about her thigh.
“I slept well. Young people don’t need much sleep.”
Ji Xiangyu: ?
Looking at the dark circles under Shen Yishu’s eyes, Ji Xiangyu remained expressionless on the surface but felt quite pleased inwardly. She hadn’t slept well yesterday, but Shen Yishu had slept soundly. Today, it was finally reversed.
Shen Yishu silently got up, thinking that she would never sleep with Film Empress Ji again.
