Transmigrated into the Film Empress Sister's Sugar Baby Alpha (GL) - Chapter 17
It was three or four in the afternoon. The sun was setting in the west, and the lingering summer heat permeated the narrow room. Outside the half-drawn curtains stood towering trees.
It was almost autumn but not quite. Green leaves mottled and swayed, and specks of golden light and shadow imprinted on the white walls, like a dynamic wallpaper.
Inside the room, there was a low bed with a pristine white sheet, no blanket, neat and clean, its edges pressed into straight lines.
Two white plastic chairs were neatly arranged against the wall, and a wooden coffee table sat by the window.
Shen Yishu thought, Dr. Zhao must have a bit of OCD.
The central air conditioning in the small room had just started running. The cold air couldn’t overcome the accumulated heat, making Shen Yishu want to blow the sweat from her forehead directly at the air vent.
Ji Xiangyu walked over and drew the curtains. She had learned the hard way when she first debuted, gradually developing the habit of drawing curtains whenever she entered a new place.
The lights weren’t on. The blackout curtain behind the window largely blocked the glaring sunlight, plunging the room into darkness. Only a few slivers of light seeped through the gaps between the curtain and the wall, illuminating a corner.
“Come here,” Ji Xiangyu called softly from the edge of the bed.
Shen Yishu swallowed.
She didn’t know why she was so nervous; her heart pounded rapidly. In a hospital room, they wouldn’t do anything out of line. But being alone in a dark, narrow room, even their breathing felt ambiguous.
She obediently walked over and sat beside Ji Xiangyu.
“Sit closer.”
Shen Yishu scooted to the left a little.
Perhaps it was the heat, perhaps it was nervousness. Her palms were sweaty. She didn’t dare wipe them on the pristine sheets, so she just casually wiped them on her legs a couple of times.
“Nervous?” Ji Xiangyu saw her fidgeting and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“It’s hot,” Shen Yishu denied flatly.
Even in the drama, they had already hugged and kissed. What’s more, they had done even more intimate things. Yet, just sitting together made her nervous; her psychological resilience was truly lacking.
“Is this your first time doing pheromone compatibility?” Ji Xiangyu asked idly.
“Mhm.”
Whether before or after transmigration, Shen Yishu was an absolute pure and innocent Alpha.
“What about you, Sister?” Shen Yishu asked in return.
She was very curious. She had met Ji Xiangyu no more than ten times. If they weren’t in the same drama group, perhaps there would be no more chances to meet privately.
“First time.”
Ji Xiangyu was against the light, her eyes dark and unclear.
Sleeping with a stranger Alpha, or letting an Alpha mark her, were both firsts in her life.
Shen Yishu was stunned into shock. She had originally thought Ji Xiangyu wanted to grab someone for an experiment, but it turned out she was the only one caught.
“Come and hug me,” Ji Xiangyu beckoned.
Shen Yishu didn’t dare move.
Ji Xiangyu hugging her when she was unwell didn’t count; that was an emergency. If Ji Xiangyu hadn’t hugged her, she would have fallen.
Hugging on set didn’t count either; it was acting. She was the heartless Li Jin, and Ji Xiangyu was Zhou Yi, running for love. Off-set, neither had anything to do with their characters.
At this moment, Ji Xiangyu was sober, and they had no legitimate reason to hug.
Pure and innocent Alpha Shen Yishu thought to herself.
Ji Xiangyu saw a struggle flash across Shen Yishu’s expression, and she was shocked.
More and more evidence showing “Shen Yishu” as truly promiscuous and dissolute was laid before her, almost swaying her decision.
She brought Shen Yishu to the hospital only for a result. She desperately wanted to know to what extent Shen Yishu’s pheromones matched hers, that just a few seconds of scent could make her freshly administered inhibitor immediately ineffective.
To say Shen Yishu was a good actress was completely impossible. She had been in the entertainment industry for ten years; she could distinguish between what was real and what was acting.
“You’re not being obedient after less than a day?” Ji Xiangyu sighed, her tone faint.
Shen Yishu: …
The IOU!
She quickly scooted a few more inches, her forearm touching Ji Xiangyu’s cool arm. The electric sensation spread from her skin to her brain. Shen Yishu endured it, only just managing not to move away.
“Sister, how do you want to hug?” Shen Yishu casually tied her hair into a low ponytail, tilting her head, her eyes shining as she looked at Ji Xiangyu.
“Just a normal hug,” Ji Xiangyu lowered her gaze, not meeting the Alpha’s fiery stare.
“Okay,” Shen Yishu opened her arms and hugged the slender Omega.
She couldn’t help but think: As the old saying goes, “Birds die for food, people die for wealth.”
Today, to save tens of thousands of yuan, hugging an Omega she didn’t particularly like in a small room wasn’t entirely shameful.
At most, eight-tenths shameful.
Online, people only condemned freeloaders who were aggressive. She was a soft-eating freeloader; she wouldn’t be scolded for it!
Shen Yishu’s chin rested on Ji Xiangyu’s back shoulder. The Omega’s arms reached out and hugged her back. A hug with no lustful intent was completed.
The Omega’s beautiful hair carried the hidden tartness within the sweet orange, her nape had a fine layer of sweat, rosemary mixed with citrus, then layered with the cold air conditioning.
Just like Ji Xiangyu’s own temperament.
“Sister, why do you like citrus-scented perfumes so much?” Shen Yishu breathed carefully, trying not to inhale too much of the Omega’s pheromones.
Ji Xiangyu lowered her gaze, her hands clasped into fists behind Shen Yishu’s waist, resting lightly on the Alpha’s well-defined waistline.
She did not answer the question.
Shen Yishu also suddenly realized after asking that inquiring about someone’s perfume preference was indeed inappropriate, too private, as if subtly trying to glimpse a hidden secret.
“I took on an endorsement for this brand, and the brand sent too much,” after a long pause, Ji Xiangyu fabricated a flimsy excuse.
Fortunately, Shen Yishu didn’t care at all. She was just casually asking questions to prevent this hug from progressing to a deeper stage.
Held in the Alpha’s embrace, too close, their heartbeats transmitted through their chests, two full hearts pressed together across soft chests and different fabrics, expressing different thoughts.
Yet, they converged, beating rapidly and powerfully, so nervous that even breathing was difficult to control.
Rosemary and cedar scents intertwined in the air. The gas collector placed nearby let out a low “collection successful” hum, and the green screen softly illuminated both their faces.
“It’s collected,” Shen Yishu said with a sigh of relief, releasing her hold on Ji Xiangyu’s shoulders, standing up quickly, and escaping swiftly.
The first rule of soft-eating freeloading: When Sister doesn’t need you, run away immediately. Don’t let Sister think you want to freeload more!
“Why are you running so fast?” Ji Xiangyu slowly unclenched her fists, lowering them to cover her sweaty palms.
“Because it’s already collected,” Shen Yishu picked up the device, walked two steps towards the window, intending to open the curtains and then go out to hand it over.
“Wait,” Ji Xiangyu stopped her, “Wait a few more minutes.”
Shen Yishu’s hand was already on the curtain. Hearing this, she walked back again.
The room was completely dark. Shen Yishu couldn’t clearly see Ji Xiangyu’s expression, only hear her disordered breathing.
Shen Yishu tilted her head, asking with concern, “Are you okay, Sister?”
Author’s Note:
Even though she hasn’t gotten a permanent meal ticket from Sister yet, Shu Shu already knows how to be a freeloader (even though it goes against Sister’s intentions).
The good thing about being younger is that during the cultivation period, they’re obedient and docile. After being cultivated, they’ll act rebellious, and then still ask Sister for a hug TvT
