Transmigrated into the Film Empress Sister's Sugar Baby Alpha (GL) - Chapter 6
Zhu Li, still chattering with her head tilted back, suddenly realized something was wrong and followed Shen Yishu’s gaze.
“?” Zhu Li didn’t recognize the person, thinking it was one of Shen Yishu’s romantic interests who had followed her to the hotel.
“Miss Jiang,” Shen Yishu lightly frowned, “Is something wrong?”
Jiang Wu took off her sunglasses, her almond eyes wide open, and cut straight to the chase: “What’s your relationship with Ji Xiangyu?”
Shen Yishu frowned: “?”
Aside from the fact that she had no relationship with Ji Xiangyu, Jiang Wu’s interrogative tone made her very uncomfortable.
“What’s it to you?”
Jiang Wu scoffed, clearly interpreting her words as defending Ji Xiangyu, her sarcasm deepening: “No matter how much you try to curry favor with her, she won’t like you. She’s a cold-blooded, heartless person…”
The more Shen Yishu listened, the more she felt something was off. Jiang Wu was talking as if Ji Xiangyu had wronged her through three lifetimes of reincarnation and was still a scumbag.
She had merely helped the weakened Ji Xiangyu out of a normal person’s sense of responsibility; otherwise, Ji Xiangyu would have fallen. How did it become about “liking” her in Jiang Wu’s mouth?
“Stop,” Shen Yishu interrupted Jiang Wu, “Who told you I like her?”
“At the set, your eyes were practically glued to her, and you say you don’t like her,” Jiang Wu sneered, “Do you take me for a fool?”
Shen Yishu: …
She thought back. She had indeed been staring at Ji Xiangyu for a bit too long on set. That was purely because Ji Xiangyu’s acting was exceptional, and Shen Yishu, with the spirit of loving what you do, was learning techniques on set.
“Your acting isn’t good, so how can you blame me for watching her?” Shen Yishu retorted righteously.
Zhu Li was stunned. She felt like she had been drawn into a current in the entertainment industry, with the two women exchanging barbed remarks, wishing they could demean each other to the ground.
“I’m kindly reminding you what kind of person Ji Xiangyu is. It’s bad enough you don’t appreciate it, but you’re also being so impolite,” Jiang Wu said, suppressing her anger.
“No need for your reminder, I have eyes.”
None of the women who reached the top of the entertainment industry were easy to mess with. Jiang Wu wasn’t easy to mess with, and Ji Xiangyu certainly wasn’t either. But Ji Xiangyu wouldn’t stand outside someone’s hotel room late at night badmouthing others, putting on a disgusting “it’s for your own good” facade.
“You’re an Alpha, aren’t you?” Jiang Wu paused for two seconds, then suddenly asked.
Shen Yishu couldn’t be bothered with her. She turned to Zhu Li and whispered, telling Zhu Li to go back and rest early.
Jiang Wu continued talking to herself: “She won’t like Alphas. She likes delicate Omegas.”
Zhu Li was worried about her and was reluctant to leave, fearing Shen Yishu would end up fighting with Jiang Wu.
Shen Yishu patted her shoulder, chuckling, reassuring her to go back and sleep, not to worry too much.
Hearing Jiang Wu’s words, she perfunctorily nodded: “Mhm, I like delicate Omegas too.”
“She’s a dominant Alpha; she wouldn’t like an Alpha like you,” Jiang Wu never missed an opportunity to belittle her rival.
“Huh?” Shen Yishu suddenly reacted.
Jiang Wu said Ji Xiangyu was a dominant… Alpha? But last night, the one whose pheromones reacted and intertwined with hers was a genuine, bona fide Omega.
Physiological reactions don’t lie; Ji Xiangyu definitely had to be an Omega.
She lowered her gaze.
Since Ji Xiangyu publicly claimed to be an Alpha, there must be a reason for it.
“Mhm, I’m also a dominant Alpha; I wouldn’t like an Alpha like her. So, can you leave now, Miss Jiang?” Shen Yishu impatiently pulled her room key out of her pants pocket, ready to swipe into her room.
With a “pop,” the door across the hall opened.
Ji Xiangyu, dressed in a loose hoodie and wide-leg sweatpants, her long hair casually clipped to the top of her head, the ends still slightly damp, and a black hair tie tied around her wrist. Her expression was indifferent, as if she hadn’t heard what was just said.
The three of them stared at each other.
Shen Yishu: …
Though she hadn’t said a single bad word, she still felt inexplicably guilty.
The corridor was extremely quiet; you could even hear the sound of a mosquito hitting the light.
A moment later, a beautiful Omega with red-rimmed eyes and fair skin squeezed out from behind Ji Xiangyu. Perhaps because she had been crying, her voice was nasal, sweet and soft, as she asked, “What’s wrong?”
Then, three people staring at each other turned into four people staring at each other.
Finally, Jiang Wu was the first to break the silence. She still seemed unable to speak kindly, asking sarcastically, “Is this the ‘darling’ hidden in the golden house?”
Ji Xiangyu couldn’t be bothered to waste words on her; she didn’t even want to reply. She spoke softly to Lin Luosheng.
“Go to sleep. You have filming tomorrow.”
Shen Yishu stared at the emerging Lin Luosheng, her frown deepening.
A few seconds later, she suddenly understood. Ah, wasn’t this Lin Luosheng, the pampered young lady from the original novel, who, after entering the entertainment industry, transformed into the highly praised, award-winning original female lead!
Her frown immediately smoothed out.
Now she wouldn’t mistake anyone else for Lin Luosheng.
Lin Luosheng also noticed Shen Yishu. She wrinkled her nose, wanted to say something, looked at Ji Xiangyu, and still said nothing, retreating back inside.
Shen Yishu was only focused on staring at Lin Luosheng, trying hard to memorize Lin Luosheng’s physical characteristics. She hadn’t forgotten her first thought after realizing she had transmigrated: don’t provoke the female lead. If the female lead needed her, she would pave the way. If the female lead didn’t need her, she would quickly disappear from the female lead’s and the true Alpha’s world.
Unbeknownst to her, her changes in expression, every single movement, fell into Ji Xiangyu’s eyes.
Jiang Wu was only focused on Ji Xiangyu and paid no attention to Shen Yishu.
“See, I told you, she likes delicate Omegas.”
She then turned to Ji Xiangyu and said, “Are you really so unwilling to get someone a suite?”
Shen Yishu’s thoughts were suddenly interrupted. She looked up in confusion and replied, “Who doesn’t like delicate Omegas?”
Ji Xiangyu didn’t respond to Jiang Wu’s comment. She turned her gaze to Jiang Wu and said, “If you have nothing to do, go back and memorize your script early. Don’t delay everyone’s progress like today.”
Jiang Wu immediately shut up, glaring angrily, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, all her fur bristling.
Ji Xiangyu had no intention of speaking further to her. She stood with her arms down, quietly watching her until Jiang Wu snorted coldly, turned, and left.
Only when the elevator completely closed did Ji Xiangyu slowly speak: “Let’s talk in your room.”
Shen Yishu swiped her card to open the door, suddenly remembering the messy state of her room. She had gone straight to sleep last night and left in too much of a hurry this morning, with no time to tidy up.
“Beep—”
The room door opened.
Shen Yishu: …
In her previous life, she was considered a model Alpha in the hearts of little Omegas. She wasn’t promiscuous, didn’t mess around, treated people with appropriate boundaries, and always kept herself clean and intellectual. When she appeared in the library, at least three out of five little Omegas would hand her notes asking for contact information, and the remaining two would ask on the confession wall.
Her painstakingly maintained reputation was about to turn into foam today, right now.
But things didn’t happen as she imagined.
She had just entered the room, before she even had a chance to turn on the light, the fresh scent of shower gel mixed with rosemary, intertwined, permeated her entire being.
A soft, fragrant body plunged directly into her arms, then slid downwards. Shen Yishu instinctively supported Ji Xiangyu’s waist to prevent her from falling to the floor, pulling her directly into her embrace.
Her freshly washed black hair emitted a faint fragrance, buried against Shen Yishu’s shoulder. Her shallow breaths puffed against Shen Yishu’s collarbone, rapid and clearly indicating discomfort.
Shen Yishu was completely stiff, her hand on Ji Xiangyu’s waist not knowing where it should be.
The room light wasn’t on. Only through the drawn-back curtains could she see scattered lights in the distance, indicating a film crew shooting a night scene. In late summer and early autumn, the night breeze was slightly less cool and more sensual than the morning air, wafting in through the half-open window.
She wondered if it was the Omega’s breath or the playful evening breeze blowing on her.
When you can’t see, even ordinary touches become extraordinarily ambiguous.
Half of Ji Xiangyu’s weight pressed against Shen Yishu, pushing her directly against the wall. Her back rested against the cold wall, while she held a warm, soft body in her arms—a kind of “ice and fire” in another sense.
Ji Xiangyu maintained her figure exceptionally well. Even just an unintentional embrace around her waist allowed Shen Yishu to feel her taut back and slender waistline.
Shen Yishu didn’t know whether her hand on Ji Xiangyu’s waist should move away or remain there. If she moved it, she was afraid Ji Xiangyu would slide down without support. If she kept it there, it would make her seem like she was taking advantage of the situation, not a good person.
As she hesitated, Ji Xiangyu reached out again and grasped her shirt, as if gripping an oar, ready to row to the opposite shore.
She considered whether she should just push her away, instead of acting like a scumbag Alpha who accepted any beautiful Omega who willingly threw themselves into her arms. She shifted her body, intending to help Ji Xiangyu up and ask for a clear explanation first.
“Don’t move.” Ji Xiangyu sensed her intention and spoke first.
She was truly uncomfortable enduring it.
It was her first mark in ten years, and the pheromones suppressed for a decade finally found a release point. She had a premonition before filming today and had taken an inhibitor in advance. She managed to endure through the day, but the moment she saw Shen Yishu in the evening, she could barely suppress the surging pheromones within her.
Jiang Wu’s trick of making her get soaked three extra times today was nothing compared to the hatred of delaying her for three minutes, making her resist for three more minutes tonight.
Shen Yishu was slender. The original owner didn’t like exercise, so her shoulders and back were thin, uncomfortably pressing against Ji Xiangyu’s face. Even so, Ji Xiangyu was reluctant to let go. Her fingers tightened on the white T-shirt, suppressing any superfluous, ill-timed thoughts.
She refused to succumb. Some things were like smoke; once tasted, you couldn’t put them down. The more you indulged yourself, the easier it was to fall into a sea of desire.
Three minutes later.
Shen Yishu rubbed her nose, pushed the suitcase to the side of the bed, and went to get Ji Xiangyu a glass of water.
Ji Xiangyu pulled out a cigarette from her bag and asked in a hoarse voice, “Do you mind?”
Shen Yishu shook her head and handed over the water.
Ji Xiangyu didn’t take it. She lit the slender cigarette between her fingers. The curling smoke blurred her features. There was a faint redness at the corners of her eyes, and her eyebrows were tinged with desire. That cigarette was like spring emerging from the wall.
Shen Yishu stared at her profile, an anachronistic phrase coming to mind.
A post-coital cigarette.
