Transmigrated into the Film Empress Sister's Sugar Baby Alpha (GL) - Chapter 8
The limited description in the original novel stated that the original owner was an ignorant scion, irritable, and prone to jealousy. Aside from this, there was almost no other information, so Shen Yishu could only guess that the original owner’s family background must have been good.
Her uncle’s tone was kind, and if it weren’t for something that happened last night, Shen Yishu would have simply thought this “uncle” was concerned about her.
Based on Shen Yishu’s many years of novel-reading experience, she realized that “Uncle” and last night’s incident were probably related. She had to try and coax out a reason from him that could convince Ji Xiangyu.
“Last night, what happened last night?” Shen Yishu quietly turned on her phone’s recording function.
“You don’t remember?”
“I drank too much, all blurry,” Shen Yishu felt her ability to lie through her teeth was improving, “I don’t remember what happened last night.”
Shen Gaozhuo frowned, meeting his wife’s gaze, and after hesitating for a few seconds, he spoke carefully: “If you really don’t remember, then forget it. When are you coming home for dinner?”
Shen Yishu would never let the reason she had found slip away.
She wasn’t stupid. Ji Xiangyu coming to her for an answer was already the safest option among several paths. If Lin Luosheng or Zheng Shu had come knocking today, she wouldn’t have had this buffer time.
“I think I remember a little,” Shen Yishu decided to gamble, “Someone kept yelling at me, saying what I was doing was… illegal?”
She feigned distress, saying rather displeased, “How could I do anything illegal or criminal?”
“That’s not how it works, Xiao Shu. You’ve caused quite a few troubles. Last night, an old friend of Uncle’s saw you at the hotel where you’re filming, helping an Omega into a room. Uncle’s friend said that Omega seemed off, and looked a bit familiar.”
Finally, to the point.
Shen Yishu feigned a gasp of surprise: “How could I not remember? Who was it?”
Shen Gaozhuo built up the suspense. Only when he heard Shen Yishu’s panicked follow-up questions did he slowly say: “It was the Lin family’s youngest daughter, Lin Luosheng. Did you drug her?”
Shen Yishu lowered her eyes, thinking, this is more like it.
This was how the normal plotline in the original novel progressed. The original owner entering the same room as Lin Luosheng and recording a video while Lin Luosheng was unconscious was the plotline written in the novel.
But there were too many suspicious points.
“No, I didn’t. I clearly remember falling asleep as soon as I got back to the hotel. How could I have been with Lin Luosheng? I hate her the most.”
“You hate her, so you drugged her?” Shen Gaozhuo couldn’t help but feel pleased as Shen Yishu grew increasingly flustered.
“How could that be? I would never touch anything that could stain my career,” Shen Yishu deliberately left an opening, “Lin Luosheng is from the Lin family? She won’t come after me, will she?”
Shen Yishu, Shen Yishu, with your talent and acting skills, it would be such a waste if you didn’t join the entertainment industry.
“Xiao Shu, we’re all family here, you can trust Uncle. Tell me the truth, did you administer the drug?”
“No matter what she says, she’s just an Omega. If she makes a fuss, her reputation will be ruined. Are you still afraid of her causing any trouble?”
Shen Yishu felt a chill down her spine.
She had a new and well-reasoned theory – yesterday’s farce might have had nothing to do with the original owner.
According to the original plotline, what the original owner was supposed to do was well-deserved. But what if, before committing the wrongdoing, she was used by someone with ulterior motives?
This uncle of the original owner, his intention to throw Shen Yishu into prison was too obvious.
Shen Gaozhuo’s words clearly told Shen Yishu that she could use last night’s incident to threaten Lin Luosheng. To put it lightly, get some money. To put it heavily, either she’d end up in jail, or the Shen family and Lin family could become relatives.
What kind of existence was the Lin family?
The original novel stated: “There are four low-key but deeply established families in the capital circle, and the Lin family ranks second among them. Their family business involves multiple industries, with wealth so vast it’s just a number. Family members are spread across various industries, powerful and influential, with ruthless methods.”
And Lin Luosheng was the only daughter of this generation, loved by the entire family. If she truly dared to threaten Lin Luosheng, prison time was inevitable.
“No, I didn’t. How would I dare to do such a thing? What Omega do I not have? The Lin family won’t retaliate against me, will they?” Shen Yishu sounded extremely wronged. If they were face to face, she could even squeeze out two tears.
“Don’t be afraid, Xiao Shu. How about this, did you happen to film any videos? Send them to me. Then, if the Lin family causes any trouble, just say you have several backups of the video, and make them treat you politely.”
“No, I passed out immediately. I don’t know what I did.”
Shen Gaozhuo seemed to quietly curse Shen Yishu for being useless on the other end of the phone, then changed to a tone of profound sorrow: “Xiao Shu, in that case, Uncle might not be able to help you. You’ll have to rely on yourself.”
Shen Yishu wanted to continue acting like a desperate prodigal weeping, but the other party hung up the phone.
Shen Yishu: …
Are they not playing fair?
The recording ended. Shen Yishu turned off her phone and re-organized the information.
Firstly, the information Shen Gaozhuo knew matched the original plotline. Shen Yishu guessed that if she had been with Lin Luosheng last night, she would have been scared despite her excitement, so she would have called Shen Gaozhuo for help. After asking for help, she would have received the advice to “film a video to threaten.”
Secondly, Shen Yishu’s story deviated from the original plot as soon as she opened her eyes, which means someone corrected this mistake and actively saved Lin Luosheng before it happened, thereby indirectly saving Shen Yishu’s life. Shen Yishu leaned towards Ji Xiangyu being this person.
Finally, how exactly this mistake was corrected became the key to solving the problem.
She needed to find time to go back to the Shen family to gather information and investigate the depths of this Shen family.
Shen Yishu unlocked her phone again and scrolled through her contacts, confirming she had no contact information for Ji Xiangyu.
Well, that made sense. As a minor actress who was basically invisible, how could she have Ji Xiangyu’s contact information?
She resigned herself to her fate, got out of bed, and decided to go upstairs to chat with Ji Xiangyu. Ji Xiangyu wasn’t stupid. Shen Yishu didn’t dare to try and trick the Film Empress, she just wanted to let Ji Xiangyu listen to the recording.
At least it would show that she might be innocent, and ask for two more days.
But she would need to find another excuse for her memory loss.
Before leaving, she thought for a moment and decided to put on a hat and mask, covering herself up like a secret agent operating at night before heading out.
Ji Xiangyu returned to her room and took another shower, throwing the freshly changed clothes into the washing machine.
Her body was covered in Shen Yishu’s pheromone scent, omnipresent, seeping from her pores into her bloodstream, making her incredibly uncomfortable.
It wasn’t that she disliked the scent of cedar, nor did she dislike the owner of the scent. She just disliked herself, disliking her inability to resist Shen Yishu’s pheromonal attraction.
Thankfully, Shen Yishu was a seasoned player in romance and saw her throwing herself at her as a normal thing. If it had been a more innocent Alpha, it would have been harder for her to explain.
Her hair wasn’t dry, so she casually tied it up with a hair tie, put on a bathrobe, and lazily curled up on the sofa, flipping through the script for tomorrow’s shoot.
When she returned to the hotel tonight, she had encountered Lin Luosheng and Zheng Shu arguing at the hotel entrance. Or rather, it was Lin Luosheng unilaterally blaming Zheng Shu for not respecting her wishes. Originally, according to Lin Luosheng’s plan, she should have been on set filming normally today.
On the way back to the hotel, Lin Luosheng had fallen asleep from exhaustion. Zheng Shu temporarily changed their route and returned to her own hotel. Only then did she call Ji Xiangyu for help.
Zheng Shu wanted Lin Luosheng to rest for another day, and Ji Xiangyu agreed, taking it as a condition for her to protect Lin Luosheng for a few days. She called the director early in the morning, and the director temporarily changed the filming schedule, moving this scene, originally planned for a day later, to today.
Lin Luosheng had a huge fight with Zheng Shu that morning, but it would have taken too long to return from that hotel. By the time she came back, most of today’s scenes had already been filmed. When she finally returned to the hotel, she sobbed in Ji Xiangyu’s arms.
She wasn’t crying about missing filming, but because of her own situation, Ji Xiangyu had to film in the rain during her estrus period. She cried and told Ji Xiangyu that she hated Zheng Shu.
Ji Xiangyu could only pat her shoulder, telling her that Zheng Shu knew nothing.
That night, she hadn’t been drugged. She simply had an irregular estrus period, an uninvited guest arrived temporarily. The inhibitor she took wasn’t suitable for Lin Luosheng, and she herself was incapacitated, so she could only notify Zheng Shu to pick her up.
By the time Zheng Shu arrived, the inhibitor she had just taken was already taking effect. It was normal for Zheng Shu not to notice her pheromones next to Lin Luosheng’s overwhelming ones.
Lin Luosheng wouldn’t listen no matter what, crying and cursing Zheng Shu for being a terrible person. She never once mentioned Shen Yishu, seemingly unaware of what had actually happened last night.
Ji Xiangyu found it increasingly difficult to focus on the script. She tossed it aside, intending to blow-dry her hair and go to sleep.
Thump, thump, thump.
She looked up, walked over somewhat confused, and opened the door, with the security chain still on.
Shen Yishu’s bright eyes peeked out from under the brim of her baseball cap. Her long hair cascaded over her shoulders, and with the mask covering most of her face, Ji Xiangyu could almost see her excited expression.
“What’s wrong?” Ji Xiangyu smelled the faint pheromone scent on Shen Yishu, almost completely dissipated. If they didn’t have a mark between them, she wouldn’t have smelled it at all.
“I have a lead on that matter!”
Ji Xiangyu looked down at her freshly changed bathrobe, having a premonition that she would still be sleeping with Shen Yishu’s pheromone scent tonight.
She unlatched the security chain, intending to let Shen Yishu in.
Suddenly, something caught her eye in her peripheral vision, and she took two steps back.
Shen Yishu entered, subconsciously pushing the door shut.
“Don’t close the door,” Ji Xiangyu reminded her.
Bang. The lock clicked shut automatically.
Shen Yishu: …
By the time Ji Xiangyu spoke, she had already pushed the door shut and didn’t have time to block it.
“What’s wrong with closing the door?” Shen Yishu was still a bit confused.
“I think I saw paparazzi.”
Shen Yishu: ?
A million tabloid headlines flashed through her mind, such as “Famous Film Empress Meets Nameless Nobody,” “Certain Alpha Film Empress Actually Recruits In-Home Service,” “Is It Workplace Bullying or Junior’s Covetousness? Click to Find Out.”
She immediately grew nervous.
She leaned closer to Ji Xiangyu and whispered, “They won’t guess you’re an O, will they?”
Ji Xiangyu replied with a half-smile: “They’ll only write that my taste is unusual, and I prefer double Alphas.”
