Transmigrated into the Scummy Alpha of the Apocalypse Heroine (GL) - Chapter 10
Qin Junlan looked at her own hand and said calmly, “I’m the one who bled.”
But no one believed her. Their eyes were filled with teasing disbelief.
Seeing no one respond, Qin Junlan turned to Bai Lansheng and asked, “Tell them the truth. I didn’t touch you, did I?”
Bai Lansheng glanced at her, clearly unsure whether to answer.
Qin Junlan nudged her lightly. “Just say it. I didn’t do anything, right?”
Bai Lansheng remained quiet for a moment, then nodded faintly.
Still, no one believed her.
Someone in the back whispered, “That’s what you call ‘cleaning up after the mess.’”
Another one added, “Omega must be covering for her. Poor thing must’ve been sweet-talked.”
Someone else nodded seriously, “Probably cried from being too happy. I heard it happens with some Omegas.”
Qin Junlan was speechless.
How could she explain this? No matter what she said, no one was going to believe her. It was like trying to argue with a group of drunk people who only wanted to gossip.
She gave up and sighed. “Whatever. Think what you want.”
She pulled Bai Lansheng up gently. “Come on, let’s go inside.”
Bai Lansheng followed silently, eyes still red, but she didn’t resist. The green-haired girl followed closely behind them, whispering to Qin Junlan as they walked.
“Boss, is she really yours now?”
Qin Junlan rolled her eyes. “What do you think?”
Green Hair gave a sly grin. “The way she let you hold her, I’d say yes.”
Qin Junlan didn’t respond.
Once they stepped into the house, Bai Lansheng froze. She looked around at the small, shabby space. The walls were worn down, the floor uneven, and the furniture barely usable. The only bed was an old, splintered frame pushed against the far wall.
It was a far cry from what she was used to.
Qin Junlan scratched her head. She had just remembered there was only one bed, and it wasn’t even usable.
“Well, it’s not much, but at least it’s dry.” She pulled out a folded blanket from the corner. “I’ll clean up the floor. You can sleep here for now.”
Bai Lansheng didn’t say anything. She just stood there, looking around as if she had stepped into another world.
Qin Junlan knelt down and started sweeping the floor, muttering to herself, “Should’ve asked Green Hair to prepare something. Didn’t think it would come to this.”
Bai Lansheng lowered her eyes. She didn’t move, but her gaze gradually softened.
She was exhausted. Even if she hated Qin Junlan, even if she had nowhere to go, she didn’t have the strength to fight anymore.
So, she sat down slowly.
Qin Junlan paused and looked at her. “I know it’s not ideal. But for now, just rest, alright?”
Bai Lansheng didn’t reply. She just leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes.
Qin Junlan looked at her for a long moment, then quietly took off her own jacket and draped it over her.
Outside the window, the sun had started to set, casting golden light over the small room. For the first time in a long while, it felt almost peaceful.
But Qin Junlan knew that peace never lasted long in her world.
She would have to keep fighting to protect it.
She had almost lost control when she smelled Bai Lansheng’s pheromones. To stay conscious, she punched the wall, using the pain to regain clarity, though it caused her to bleed.
That bl00d must have stained the bathrobe at the time. Later, when she left, she randomly picked one to wrap around Bai Lansheng and accidentally chose the stained one.
Only Green Hair, who met her on the way back, knew this detail. Qin Junlan had already thrown away the robe during the return trip.
Qin Junlan narrowed her eyes and stared at Green Hair with suspicion. “What rumors did you spread while I was gone?”
Green Hair waved her hands frantically.
“Boss, you can’t do this. You can’t just eat and deny it ever happened.”
“Yeah, Boss, Omegas are sensitive. She’ll be heartbroken.”
“Boss, if you pretend nothing happened, that makes you worse than a beast.”
In an instant, everyone united on Bai Lansheng’s side.
Qin Junlan glanced at Bai Lansheng, hoping she would say something to help clarify.
But Bai Lansheng just stared down at her own stepped-on toes, clearly thinking, “Don’t look at me. You’re on your own.”
Qin Junlan rubbed her forehead. Had none of them ever seen an Omega before? How could they switch sides so quickly?
Now wasn’t the time to argue with Green Hair. The longer they kept talking, the worse it would get.
Qin Junlan kicked them all out of the house. Then, seeing Bai Lansheng still silent, she felt utterly drained.
Just as she was about to push Green Hair out too, Green Hair clung to the doorframe, looking at her seriously.
“Boss, can you kick me? Just once?”
“No. Get out.”
“But you used to love kicking me.”
Green Hair’s tone shifted, putting heavy emphasis on the word “used to.”
Qin Junlan paused and stared at her. “That’s a first. No one’s ever asked me that before. Alright, you got it.”
She stepped behind Green Hair and kicked the back of her knee.
Green Hair had expected a hit on her leg or backside, not the knee, and nearly went face-first into the ground.
After barely managing to steady herself, she brushed off her already dusty pants.
“Boss, are you still the same boss?”
That question was even stranger.
Qin Junlan hesitated for a moment, then said, “Yes.”
“Good.” Green Hair grinned, dimples forming on her cheeks. “Then I’ll go now.”
Qin Junlan sighed. “Go, stop blocking the door. The motorbike is at the end of the street. Don’t forget to take it.”
“Got it, Boss. And please, go easy on the little Omega.”
“Out.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Just as Green Hair was about to leave, Qin Junlan called out, “Wait. Help me buy a few things.”
She handed over some cash, naturally from Bai Lansheng’s wallet.
Green Hair waved the money like a flag. “Boss, you’re being polite now? You never used to say ‘help.’ I’ll be back soon.”
Qin Junlan watched her leave, the small smile on her lips slowly fading.
That was when the system finally reappeared.
System: I think she figured it out.
Qin Junlan: It’s not just a guess. She already knows I’m not Qin Sisi.
System: But she didn’t expose you. She even called you Boss. You humans are strange. So easy to accept a soul swap?
Qin Junlan: Maybe for people like them, survival matters most. Everything else just comes after.
System: I do not understand.
Qin Junlan: Of course you don’t. You’re just a system. You don’t need to survive.
The system fell silent.
Qin Junlan looked over at Bai Lansheng.
While she had been talking to Green Hair, Bai Lansheng had quietly moved to a corner and curled up.
She sat hugging her knees with her back turned, small and motionless.
Some say that when a person can no longer resist suffering, the body curls up instinctively, trying to disappear and escape pain.
Others believe that curling up is a way to preserve energy, quietly building strength until the moment comes to rise and fight back.
Which one was Bai Lansheng?
Qin Junlan stared at her lifeless posture. She looked like a crack in the wall that had been there for years.
She had blended into the background, like she no longer existed.
The original Qin Sisi didn’t have many friends. She bullied people, and they feared her. But maybe, just maybe, Green Hair had genuinely considered her a friend.
So Green Hair was the first person to notice the difference between her and the original.
Too bad the original never knew how to cherish that.
If the original treated friends that way, then how badly had she treated Bai Lansheng?
What could Qin Junlan do to erase the resentment in Bai Lansheng’s heart?
She had a strange feeling—Bai Lansheng was physically present, but her soul wasn’t. They were sharing the same space, yet living in separate worlds.
Since waking up, Qin Junlan had been running around nonstop. Now, for the first time, she had a moment to herself.
She let her thoughts wander.
Who discovered her body after she died?
How did her family react?
Who took over her projects at work?
That new Mercedes she just bought was definitely better than Green Hair’s bike. Who ended up with it?
Green Hair returned with the items, breaking Qin Junlan’s train of thought.
Qin Junlan placed everything around the room—water bucket under the bed, new blankets on the mattress, some odds and ends tucked into corners.
After Green Hair left, she took the noise with her. The house fell silent. Only Qin Junlan and Bai Lansheng remained. The quiet was so complete that even the insects outside could be heard clearly.
Qin Junlan looked at Bai Lansheng curled in the corner and called her name.
There was no response, but Qin Junlan noticed the tips of her ears twitch slightly.
Fine. If you won’t come to me, I’ll come to you.
Qin Junlan walked over and slipped her arms under Bai Lansheng’s armpits, trying to lift her up.
But Bai Lansheng held her knees so tightly it was as if her body had taken root in the ground.
Qin Junlan saw that Bai Lansheng refused to get up, so she wrapped her arms around her knees and lifted her up like a watermelon.
Bai Lansheng was completely startled. She felt her body tipping forward, and in that position, she couldn’t struggle. If Qin Junlan let go, she’d definitely fall flat on her face.
Thankfully, she landed securely on the wooden bed frame.
Qin Junlan patted her on the head. “Be good. There’s no mattress today, so this will have to do.”
Bad moods are best left to sleep off. Worry belongs to tomorrow.
Qin Junlan decided that any problems serious enough to bring the sky down could be dealt with later.
She nudged Bai Lansheng toward the inner side of the bed, tossed her a fresh blanket, and laid down beside her.
Ever since they stepped into this room, Bai Lansheng had hardly spoken. She was so quiet, it was like she had faded out of existence. Even when Qin Junlan picked her up, she didn’t resist like she had when she was pressed against the motorcycle.
She was too silent, but Qin Junlan had no energy left to care.
Qin Junlan shut her eyes and went straight to sleep, treating Bai Lansheng like a big plush doll.
While Qin Junlan drifted off, Bai Lansheng lay there wide awake, staring at the stained ceiling above.
A chunk of plaster had fallen from it. She remembered that once, when she was tied to the bed and unable to move, that same piece of plaster had landed directly in her eye.
She had been blind for three days.
What had she thought at the time?
Oh, right. “Thank goodness. I finally don’t have to look at my enemy’s face.”
Just as Bai Lansheng was lost in her thoughts, she suddenly felt warmth against her neck. For an Omega, that was a very sensitive spot—the gland was right there.
And her enemy’s face was now just inches away.
Bai Lansheng shifted slightly, trying to pull away.
But Qin Junlan only held her tighter, her breath brushing against that delicate part of her neck.
Bai Lansheng froze.
This woman tormented her during the day and now even in her sleep?
Unforgivable.
Unforgivable.
Absolutely unforgivable!
Bai Lansheng glared at the woman beside her. She was furious while the scoundrel was sleeping soundly. The unfairness was unbearable.
She quietly reached out and gave Qin Junlan’s cheek a light slap.
Just a little one, careful not to wake her.
Seeing no reaction, she slapped again.
While Bai Lansheng was basking in the tiny joy of revenge, Qin Junlan suddenly opened her eyes.
The sharp clarity of her gaze startled Bai Lansheng so much she nearly jumped.
“I… there was a mosquito!” Bai Lansheng stammered.
Qin Junlan grabbed her face and squished her soft cheeks together, shaping her lips into a tiny bird beak.
With Bai Lansheng bracing herself nervously, Qin Junlan said, “It’s not your fault. Don’t blame yourself. Because…”
Bai Lansheng’s heart pounded wildly.
But Qin Junlan suddenly closed her eyes, let her head drop, and fell back asleep.
Bai Lansheng held her own chin in stunned silence, her eyes welling with tears.
She genuinely cried.
