Transmigrated to the Interstellar Era to Raise Mermaids GL - Chapter 13
He Jia lived in a single large bedroom in the hotel. Since she had moved in alone without even bringing many clothes, the room was quite simple and clean, containing only a bed, a sofa chair, and a fish tank on the table.
He Jia was now sitting properly on the sofa chair, holding the piece of white fabric, her eyes darting around the room to see if there was anything that needed tidying up. Finally, her gaze settled on the little turtle in the fish tank.
“Little Feicui, Orsa and I have something to do in a while that’s not suitable for minors, so please go stay in the next room for a bit!”
She scooped the little turtle out of the fish tank and held it in her palm.
The little turtle frantically flapped its limbs, struggling in He Jia’s palm. It just happened to see Orsa walk out of the restroom and quickly sent out a sonic distress signal: “Quickly tell this Earthling that I’m only small in appearance, my actual age is enough to be her grandmother! There’s nothing I can’t see!”
Orsa stroked her chin and gave it a glance, leaning against the restroom door and clearing a path for He Jia: “Just put it in the bathtub.”
She raised an eyebrow with a slight smile and transmitted via sonic wave to the little turtle: “Even if you can’t see, you can still hear. Shouldn’t you be thanking me?”
Little Feicui was so angry that it stamped its feet and spat bubbles, completely giving up resistance with a sullen expression.
He Jia brushed past Orsa while holding the little turtle and saw that she had taken off her protective suit and changed into the hotel’s standard white bathrobe.
Beneath her casually tied golden hair was the beautiful, elongated curve of her neck. Her deep, straight collarbones were clearly visible in the V-neckline. A sash was loosely tied in front of her, making her look both languid and noble, so much so that He Jia didn’t know where to look.
He Jia placed the little turtle in the bathtub and closed the door. She saw Orsa undoing the sash at her waist with her hand. She quickly took a measuring tape from the drawer, looking down and intently focusing on Orsa’s fish body. While pulling out the tape measure to take her measurements, she also studied the pattern and direction of the scales on her fish body.
These transparent, semi-circular scales overlapped from the center of her abdomen, slowly extending outwards to both sides, rising and falling like surging waves, reflecting the fish body’s natural silver-white color under the light.
Her fingernail accidentally scratched the soft, jade-like skin. Hearing Orsa let out a soft hiss next to her ear, He Jia’s hand trembled violently, and she quickly said, “I’m sorry! I’ll be done in a moment!”
She held her breath and concentrated, trying hard to imagine the beauty with outstretched arms in front of her as a plaster cast of a human body. She quickly measured Orsa’s upper and lower bust, letting out a long sigh of relief as the tape measure landed on her waist.
He Jia suddenly noticed that there were scattered, additional special scales on Orsa’s fish body that were shaped like seashells, and one piece happened to be right under the measuring tape.
Her attention was drawn. She leaned closer to observe curiously and saw a vibrant sheen flickering on this unique white scale, which naturally reflected a dazzling, colorful light as the body moved under illumination, just like magnificent diamonds.
No wonder she always felt that Orsa’s fish body had a built-in sparkling effect; it turned out to be the work of these beautiful scales.
He Jia stared at the tiny, glowing, gem-like scale, suddenly wanting to know what it felt like. She extended her finger instinctively, only to have that restless hand quickly brought up before her eyes by Orsa.
“What are you doing?”
“…I just thought it looked so beautiful, I couldn’t help but want to touch it.” He Jia was caught in the act, lowering her eyes and honestly admitting her fault like a pitiful elementary school student.
Orsa frowned slightly. He Jia was a perfect maid in every way, except for her slightly excessive enthusiasm for her fish body.
However, since He Jia had touched her tail countless times anyway, she had to tolerate one or two strange little habits in her maid…
Orsa generously placed He Jia’s hand on it and said, “Go ahead and touch it.”
He Jia’s finger unconsciously moved on the incredibly smooth scale. She cautiously raised her eyes and asked, “Really?”
Orsa silently clenched her fist and said, “Quickly, finish touching and get to business.”
Having received her permission, He Jia boldly used her fingertip to gently rub against the scale. The smooth, silky feel was completely different from what she had imagined fish scales would be like. She also traced a few circles on it out of curiosity, and the scale actually began to feel slightly warm, just like skin.
Orsa bit her molars, holding He Jia’s shoulder, and asked, “…Are you done?”
She realized for the first time that the sensation of having that scale touched was like being lightly tickled around her waist—it was so itchy!
I’ll only let He Jia touch my tail from now on!
“All done, all done!” He Jia heard the slightly hurried, light panting near her ear and inexplicably felt herself becoming hot all over.
She quickly retracted the measuring tape, sat down in the sofa chair, and wrote down the measured three-dimensional sizes.
Orsa retied her sash, slid over to the bed, and sat leaning against the headboard. Her golden hair was buried in the soft pillow. She watched He Jia pick up the beautiful rectangular white fabric with half-closed eyes.
He Jia looked up and saw her half-reclined on her bed in a bathrobe, her beautiful fish tail hanging diagonally over the edge. She unconsciously swallowed and hesitantly asked, “Are you… not going back?”
“Mm, I’ll wait until you finish the clothes.”
Orsa was already starting to feel tired. She knew she didn’t have the energy to swim back to the shell tonight. Occasionally sleeping on shore wouldn’t cause much harm to her body, although she definitely wouldn’t be able to enter a state of meditation.
“Then please wait a little longer! I’ll try to finish quickly!”
He Jia hurriedly spread out the white fabric, marked it with a ruler and pen, and prepared to cut.
While focusing on her work, she casually chatted, “I don’t know what kind of new material this fabric is made of. There are no signs of cutting at all. You can’t see a single thread at the cut edges, and the texture is so good! I can’t even find a suitable adjective. It feels just…”
She swallowed the phrase “like touching the scales on your body” and continued, “In short, it will definitely feel very comfortable to wear!”
Orsa slightly turned her head, her eyes lowered, and did not respond.
She was a little unhappy because she couldn’t tell He Jia that she had followed her memory to the place where she stored things as a child, and this “fabric” was the fish skin she had shed during her last molting.
He Jia used scissors to cut off the necessary part, picking up the discarded scraps with a look of regret and saying, “Such good material, it would truly be a waste to throw any of it away! What can I make with the rest? This piece should be enough for a small vest, this piece for a pair of briefs, and this piece can be made into a small face towel…”
Orsa couldn’t listen anymore. She raised her arm and crooked her finger at He Jia: “Come here.”
