Transmigrated to the Interstellar Era to Raise Mermaids GL - Chapter 14
Orsa called her and, at the same time, raised her hand to turn off the large overhead light.
The room instantly became dim, with only a faint yellow small corridor light illuminating from the door side.
Hejia looked at the beautiful figure at the head of the bed and the golden hair spread over the pillow. She suddenly felt as if the whole world had quieted down instantly. All she could hear was the “thump,” “thump” of her own heartbeat, which made her head buzz along with it.
She obediently got up and walked in front of Orsa. Afraid that Orsa would hear her deafening heartbeat, she didn’t dare to get too close, yet didn’t want to stand too far, so her feet subtly rubbed against the floor on the spot.
Orsa scooted inwards, leaving a space for Hejia to sit, and said, “Tell me a story.”
“Huh?”
“Tell me a story.” Orsa raised her hand and yawned. The deep blue of sleepiness tinged her azure eyes. “Anything will do. I’m sleepy.”
So, she wanted a bedtime story!
Lulling her “pet” mermaid to sleep was, of course, the master’s duty!
No, no, the main point right now should be that she was going to sleep in her room!
Hejia stammered, “You… you’re not going back tonight?”
It was only around seven or eight in the evening. She thought Orsa would leave after she finished making the clothes, but she had just gone straight to bed!
Orsa remembered answering this question already. Her head was starting to feel heavy, enveloped by sleepiness. She thought Hejia was emphasizing it because she minded Orsa sleeping in her bed.
So, she generously turned to the side and lifted the covers, showing there was plenty of empty space on the bed: “You can come over and sleep too.”
They had hugged before, anyway. She was extremely sleepy now and didn’t mind sleeping with this person, whose body was as soft as a doll.
With Orsa’s movement, a strand of her golden hair slipped down her neck and fell over the neckline. The loose bathrobe couldn’t fully conceal the partially visible, enticing sight. The dim light, instead, made that piece of clean, snow-white body look even more captivating.
Hejia was so enchanted she almost nodded in agreement. Her gaze swept across Orsa’s waist, and the dazzling scales there stimulated her to blink. She quickly pinched her own thigh hard, internally cursing herself as an idiot.
“No, no! I still have to sew clothes, and besides, there are many rooms next door. You go to sleep first!”
Hejia quickly covered Orsa tightly with the blanket, leaving only a pair of misty, rippling azure eyes stubbornly staring at her, refusing to close.
“Oh, oh, right, I’ll tell you a story!”
Hejia didn’t dare to face her anymore. She sat down by the bed, cleared her throat, and concentrated on beginning: “A long, long time ago, there lived a beautiful princess in the forest. She had very long, long hair…”
Hearing Hejia’s voice, slow-paced, soft, and gentle, flowing into her ear, it was like a pair of soft little hands massaging her forehead. Orsa automatically filtered out the electronic sound coming from the translator and rested her chin on her hand, closing her eyes in satisfaction.
This feeling was indeed wonderful, a million times better than sleeping alone in the vast, silent clamshell.
Before falling into deep sleep, the last thought that flashed through Orsa’s mind was: After I shed my skin, I must make this maid tell me stories every night. She smells much better than the sleep-inducing scent emanating from the clamshell…
“…Later, the princess and the queen worked together to kill the wicked prince and lived happily ever after.”
Hejia sat stiffly beside Orsa. Her heartbeat trembled along with the other’s thick eyelashes. She was already babbling who knows what.
When Orsa’s breathing became steady and long, she quietly got up, walked back to the sofa, picked up the needle and thread and fabric, and continued sewing the clothes.
After sewing a few stitches with her head down, Hejia found the light too dim. She walked around the room with the clothes a few times, finally returning to the bedside to sit down, feeling that the moonlight outside the window was even brighter than the light by the door.
She had lived here alone for two months, and this was the first time she had a guest. The room suddenly looked particularly different from usual.
Despite having the exact same furniture and arrangement, just raising her eyes and seeing that exquisite, three-dimensional face, like a sculpture, made Hejia feel as if she were in a novel and unfamiliar environment.
It was the first time she had met such a person. Cool, noble, and serious during the day, yet captivating, willful, and capricious in the night. Regardless of which face, she was equally gentle and considerate towards her, leaving Hejia’s paper-thin psychological defense completely defenseless.
Thinking that Orsa would live with her and accompany her to sleep every night once they returned to Earth, Hejia, who was experiencing this joy in advance, couldn’t suppress the smile on her lips.
“Ouch! Ah!” She was so lost in thought that the needle pricked her finger.
Hejia’s eyes watered from the pain, but she dared not cry out. She painfully blew on her finger for a while, then continued sewing with her head down.
As she sewed, her gaze began to wander again, seeing the quilt rise and fall with Orsa’s breathing, which immediately brought back the splendid sight when she measured her size earlier.
She knew she shouldn’t recall it, but the memory became clearer and clearer, fully displayed before her eyes from every angle.
“Ah! Ow ow ow…”
The needle and thread in her hand seemed like a sentient ruler, ruthlessly stabbing into her flesh the moment it detected her inappropriate thoughts, using sharp pain to remind Hejia to put away her unwanted desires.
“Yikes! Pricked myself again!”
“Help! My finger is going to be ruined!”
…
The night grew deeper. After being pricked countless times, Hejia finally finished sewing the clothes. Her scarred fingers could no longer resist her sleepiness.
She placed the clothes on the table and collapsed onto the sofa chair, falling into a deep sleep in an instant.
Vaguely, Hejia felt her body sink into an incredibly smooth cushion. She affectionately reached out and hugged the quilt in front of her, burying her head in that unique scent, which was both crisp and warm.
“Hmm, smells so good…”
Hejia had many beautiful dreams. She opened her eyes again and saw Orsa standing by the window.
She was bathed in the bright sunlight, her golden hair fluttering slightly in the breeze near her ear. The soft light on her features and the silver-white sleeveless shirt reflected each other. The large pearl embedded in the shirt’s neckline shimmered with colorful light, making her look ethereal and dreamy, as if she were in a fairytale.
“Hmm, so beautiful…”
Hejia looked at the dream-like beauty turn and glide towards her. Orsa leaned down and gently asked, “Are you awake?”
Huh? Was this not a dream?
She suddenly woke up, sat up, looked around, and exclaimed in surprise, “How did I end up sleeping in the bed?”
“I said I didn’t mind sleeping with you.”
Orsa said, “It’s time to get up. Aren’t you supposed to go out to sea today?”
Oh, right, she had to go out to sea for work today…
Wait, did Orsa carry her to bed?
Then the thing she hugged in her dream was…
Hejia stared blankly at the beauty in front of her.
Orsa thought she was still groggy, and finding her curled up in the sofa chair for half the night somewhat pitiable, she gently pressed Hejia back onto the bed and said, “It’s alright. Sleep a little longer. I’ll go out to sea with you today.”
Hejia obediently plunged her head into the pillow, her ten fingers clutching wildly beneath the covers.
Fine, she gave up resisting. She admitted that she was odd, shameless, and worse than a beast, but she just couldn’t control her intense affection for the mermaid she was about to adopt!
