Transmigrated to the Interstellar Era to Raise Mermaids GL - Chapter 26
Orsha returned to the deep sea and transmitted a message to Gano: “I have completed molting.”
“That fast!”
Gano quickly readjusted the plan and reported to her: “The action team is still on the Prime Star on standby. We will leave immediately and are expected to arrive at Cizer Planet in twelve hours. Please rest well, Your Highness!”
Orsha turned off the radio and looked at her gradually changing fish tail.
Once the entire tail turned the same sapphire blue as the sea, her abilities would be fully restored, and the tail would automatically transform into legs upon reaching land.
Normally, this process would take an entire day, but at this rate, it would only take about one or two hours.
Even Orsha herself found the speed incredible.
Perhaps it was because she had someone she wanted to protect in her heart, and her subconscious was pushing her to become strong as quickly as possible!
Thinking of Hojia, Orsha couldn’t help but look up at the sea surface.
She wondered what Hojia was doing, if she was thinking of her, and if she would be sleepless because of those three words…
Had she managed to keep their actions hidden from those monitoring them via satellite?
When she realized Hojia was about to confess to her again, the first thought that sprang to Orsha’s mind, upon hearing Hojia’s firm answer in her heart, was to protect Hojia.
Beyond the pressure from her mother, she had many earth-shattering plans to execute upon returning to Mus Prime Star, which would inevitably bring much danger.
Hojia knew nothing about the Mus Star System, and she still needed to attend school. Since Orsha couldn’t keep her by her side every moment, the fewer people who knew about their relationship, the safer Hojia would be.
Seeing her soft expression, Sam swam up to Orsha and asked, “Master, are you feeling better now? Does it not hurt anymore?”
“Yes, the bad things are all over now.”
Orsha turned and smiled at him: “Sam, I’ve changed my mind. Hojia will live with us indefinitely after we return to Mus Prime Star.”
“Really?” Sam immediately became joyful.
I knew it! The Master likes her new maid so much, she even spun and ascended all the way to the surface to deliver her. How could she possibly abandon her!
“Oh, and and, there’s that little turtle Hojia keeps. Although it’s too small to do any work, it can translate what others say for me. How about, Master, you take it as a servant too and bring it along?”
Even an octopus gets a little nervous about going to a completely unfamiliar environment. The more familiar faces around, the better!
“Alright, bring it too.”
Orsha knew Sam’s simple mind couldn’t conceive of a second type of relationship and believed that only by being her servant could they come along.
“That’s great!”
Orsha watched Sam’s ecstatic excitement and reminded him, “Hojia is not my servant. She will be very busy in the future and won’t have time to make snacks for you anymore.”
“Ah?” Sam instantly drooped like a frost-bitten eggplant and asked confusedly, “Then why does she get to live with the Master?”
Right. If she didn’t find a suitable position for Hojia, many people would likely ask her the same question in the future.
“Hojia, she… is my private tutor.”
“Tutor?” Sam asked, bewildered, “What can she teach you?”
She was a weak Earthling who couldn’t lift anything heavy. Was she teaching cooking?
“She has already taught me many things, things that cannot be learned on Mus Prime Star.”
Orsha rubbed her chin and murmured to herself, “Yes, I can publicly state that I’ve suddenly become very interested in Earth culture and hired an Earth Language teacher. This way, I can keep Hojia by my side, earn her respect from others, and she can rightfully promote those meaningful stories on Mus Prime Star!”
She imagined Hojia standing on a podium in the future, her eyes shining brightly.
Although Sam didn’t understand what she meant, he was content knowing that Hojia and the little turtle would come along with him.
“The spaceship will arrive tonight. I’m going to get some good sleep now.”
Sam watched Orsha swim into the seashell and excitedly swam up toward the surface.
We’re leaving tonight! He needed to quickly tell the little turtle the good news so it could prepare too and pack its favorite food and drinks in advance!
“Your Highness, Your Highness!”
Hearing Gano’s loud summons, Orsha instantly woke up.
She quickly swam out of the seashell and met Gano, who was wearing a uniform of the Administration, in the ocean.
“Long time no see, Major Gano.”
“Your Highness, I’ve been promoted again recently. I’m a Lieutenant Colonel now.”
Gano saluted her and reported, “I have compiled all the important events that occurred on Mus Prime Star over the past three months. I will present them to Your Highness for review once we are on the spaceship. Since the Administration’s spaceship cannot enter the water, we have landed it on the beach in front of the hotel. The Royal Guard has detected the satellite monitoring signal interruption and is attempting to restore it. We must leave Cizer Planet within fifteen minutes. Please follow me aboard immediately.”
Orsha took the cloak Gano handed her and put it on. She quickly swam out of the water, the familiar brilliant starry river sparkling overhead.
It was late night now.
She swam towards the spaceship parked in front of the hotel, subconsciously looking towards one of the hotel windows, which was completely dark.
Orsha lowered her eyes and concentrated on familiarizing herself with the long-lost sensation of her fish tail transforming into legs upon stepping onto the sand.
Her trusted subordinates in the military were standing on both sides of the spaceship’s entrance, disguised in Administration employee uniforms.
Seeing Orsha, clad in a scarlet cloak, approach expressionlessly, they all knelt down before her, their right fists placed over their left palms, silently mouthing: “Your subordinates welcome the Princess!”
Orsha raised her hand, signaling them to rise, then raised her eyes to look at that window again.
“Master, Master! Wait for me! Are we leaving now!”
Sam also followed behind. He looked at the brown-green spaceship and said, “Hey! This spaceship is a different color from the one that picked you up last time! And it looks a bit small… But never mind, I can shrink my body and squeeze in!”
“Sam…”
Orsha clenched her fist, turned, and said to him, “I have a mission to execute now. You stay here for the time being, and I will personally come back for you all once the mission is complete.”
“Ah, so you’re not planning to take us with you…”
Sam stood still, dejectedly lowering his tentacles, and the little snacks in his suction cups spilled onto the ground.
But you promised this time you would definitely take me with you.
Orsha seemed to see a pitiful, teary look on his octopus face. She paused for a moment and said to Gano beside her, “Take them with us now.”
Gano naturally understood who “them” included. She quickly advised, “Your Highness, the octopus can come along, but Hojia is the administrator of this planet. If the satellite signal is restored and she is found missing, it will immediately alert the Prime Star, which will be greatly detrimental to our surprise attack plan!”
The rest of the subordinates silently knelt around them in a circle. Even without saying a word, she could hear them shouting in their minds: “Please prioritize the overall mission, Your Highness!”
Orsha said, “Open the cargo bay first. Let Sam go in!”
The cargo bay at the back of the spaceship slowly opened. Sam extended his tentacles and quickly helped the subordinates throw the items originally inside into the sea.
While everyone was busy, Orsha immediately turned and walked toward the hotel. Seeing Gano silently follow her, she took out the pistol she always carried and said, “Don’t worry, Sam is coming with us too. I just want to leave a weapon for her, just in case.”
Gano stopped abruptly. Orsha immediately sprinted towards Hojia’s bedroom.
At the same time, Little Emerald was diligently climbing onto Hojia’s bed.
Earlier today, Sam had come to find him and told him the Princess would take them all to Mus Prime Star tonight, which made Little Emerald so excited he couldn’t sleep.
As he was lying on the windowsill, fantasizing about resuming his comfortable noble life after returning to Mus Prime Star, he saw a brown-green spaceship descend onto the beach, passing through the security defense system in the sky, and a line of tall people disembarking.
Little Emerald frantically climbed toward the sleeping Hojia.
He knew this definitely wasn’t the Administration’s spaceship; the Administration was always stingy. They would never allow such a grand display!
Stop sleeping! Someone is here to pick us up! Hurry up and get up and pack!
As he climbed, already reaching the head of Hojia’s bed, he suddenly heard the conversation from the beach, and his excited mood immediately turned to anger.
Coming back to pick them up after the mission is done? Lying to ghosts!
In every TV drama, this kind of plot always leads to a host of complications, misunderstandings, and unnecessary melodrama. Even that silly octopus knew that if you’re leaving, you have to leave together!
While he was muttering to himself, he suddenly saw Orsha burst into the room. He was so startled he reached the fastest speed he had ever achieved in his life, quickly scurrying under Hojia’s ear and quietly observing the situation outside through a strand of hair.
Orsha quietly approached the bedside, silently gazing at the person lying in bed.
Hojia had tired herself out on the beach during the day. She was now wearing a soft, pink cotton little bear pajamas and was sound asleep.
Orsha reached out to touch Hojia’s forehead. Her extremely sharp vision suddenly caught a pair of wide, green eyes hidden in Hojia’s hair. She let out a silent, soft chuckle, retracted her suspended arm, placed the pistol on the bedside table, and turned to leave.
Confirming she had left, Little Emerald quickly climbed out from behind Hojia’s ear, let out a long sigh of relief, and immediately scrambled onto Hojia’s forehead, starting a turtle dance: “Stop sleeping! The cheating flirt who lied to you is about to run away! Hurry up and wake up and stop her!”
Orsha walked out of the hotel and saw that the cargo bay had been completely emptied. Sam had compressed his body as flat as possible, allowing the subordinates to roll him up like a large, fleshy blanket and lift him into the spaceship.
Sam definitely wouldn’t be comfortable staying in the cargo bay like this.
But even though it would be physically uncomfortable, he wasn’t willing to wait for her to come back for him.
Whether it was a few years or a few hours, the process of waiting was an anxious torment.
Orsha’s mind flashed back to the last time she left Cizer Planet.
She couldn’t take Sam with her then. After returning to Prime Star, she had wanted to bring Sam back, but she was severely reprimanded by her mother, restricted in her personal freedom, and scheduled for a large number of classes. She was busy from morning till night, completely unable to even think about the matter.
Separation also meant endless unpredictability. Moreover, Hojia had just received her confession. How could she abandon her now?
“Your Highness, please board the ship quickly!” Gano urged, seeing Orsha still hesitating to step onto the spaceship.
“No, I have to go back to Hojia’s room one more time!” Orsha turned to walk back toward the hotel.
“Your Highness, we only have five minutes left!” Gano anxiously spread her arms to block her path.
“But I just remembered that Hojia will definitely look for me when she sees the pistol I left for her! Her character is impulsive. If she finds I’m gone, she might make a huge scene, and the Prime Star will find out anyway!”
Orsha pushed Gano’s arm aside and said, “Alas, I’m just distraught by my feelings. I didn’t think of this just now—my mistake.”
Gano looked at her in astonishment.
What distraught by her feelings! This Princess was the calmest and most rational person she had ever met! And she didn’t show the slightest sign of regret on her face!
She must be doing this on purpose! Deliberately stalling until the last minute so I have no choice but to compromise and let her take Hojia with her!
As the two were at a stalemate, Orsha suddenly released her hand, a look of gratification shimmering in her eyes.
Gano felt a chill run down her spine and abruptly turned around, seeing Hojia appear at the hotel entrance.
She was barefoot, her lustrous black hair was spread over her cute little bear nightgown, and a small turtle was perched on her shoulder. The flush of sleep still lingered on her cheeks. She was holding a pistol with both hands and shouted, “Stop! Put your hands up, all of you!”
T-t-this… What kind of strange scene was this!
Gano composed herself, flashed her Administration ID card in front of Hojia, and said the prepared lines: “We are from the Administration. We are following orders to take this mermaid back to Mus Prime Star. Please do not impede us from executing our duty!”
“I don’t believe you! Your IDs must be fake!”
Hojia’s hands were trembling, but she tightly held the pistol, stepping onto the sand, gradually closing the distance to Gano: “This mermaid is mine! No one is allowed to take her away!”
She had been woken up by Little Emerald, saw a group of people outside the window tying Sam into the cargo bay, and step by step forcing Orsha onto the spaceship. She immediately grabbed the pistol from the bedside table and rushed downstairs.
Guchado had said she could adopt Orsha. These inexplicable people must have heard there was an unparalleled, beautiful white-tailed mermaid on Cizer Planet and wanted to steal the refugee while she was asleep in the middle of the night!
No matter the reason, she wouldn’t let anyone take Orsha away from her!
Seeing Orsha push Gano aside and walk towards her, a misty film rose in Hojia’s eyes: “Orsha, don’t be afraid! Stand behind me! I’ll protect you!”
She was too nervous. She could only stare intently at Orsha’s face and the faces of the people behind her, not even noticing Orsha’s slightly exposed legs beneath the cloak, or that her movement was different from before.
“Only one minute left! Hurry up!”
Hearing the prompt from her earpiece, Gano waved for her subordinates to quickly board the ship, while anxiously shouting behind Orsha, reminding her that there was no time left to explain to Hojia.
Orsha immediately took Hojia’s hands, retrieved the gun from her grasp, and whispered, “Come with me.”
“What?”
Before Hojia could react, Orsha took her arm, scooped her up in a horizontal embrace, turned, and rapidly ran onto the spaceship.
Little Emerald, perched on Hojia’s shoulder, was suddenly dislodged and fell all the way to Orsha’s feet. By instinct, he grabbed onto her long cloak trailing on the ground and was inadvertently carried aboard.
“Close the hatch immediately and lift off!”
Gano couldn’t spare a moment for them. She rushed to the control panel, nervously murmuring, “We have 30 seconds to leave Cizer Planet… passing through the security defense system, 15 seconds left! Passing through the outermost layer, 5 seconds left!”
“Whew! We’re finally out!”
Gano collapsed into a chair. The real-time communication from the personnel in the rear sounded in her earpiece: “Lieutenant Colonel, the satellite monitoring system has begun to reboot!”
She wiped the sweat from her forehead, looked back at Orsha standing by the hatch and the person held in her arms, and could only pray that the monitors wouldn’t discover the ground administrator was missing before they reached Anglu’s doorstep.
“W-what’s going on? Why are we getting on this ship with these people?”
Hojia’s eyes darted around, sizing up the people standing straight inside the spaceship.
Although they were all wearing the uniform of the Administration, their demeanor and posture were more like well-trained soldiers.
Hojia looked at Orsha with a bewildered expression and asked again, “Where are you taking me?”
“I’ll tell you slowly in a while.”
Orsha carried her to the nearest chair and sat her down. She glanced at the pistol in her hand and chuckled softly, “You still don’t know how to turn off the safety catch…”
“Huh?”
She dared to use the gun to threaten people just now?
Seeing Gano glare at her from afar, Hojia scratched her head awkwardly and said, “Hehe… I got too excited and accidentally forgot. I’ll definitely pay attention next time!”
“It’s okay. The gun better stay with me.”
Orsha reached out and stroked her hair, leaning down to whisper in her ear, “From now on, I will protect you.”
A booming sound echoed in Hojia’s mind. Looking into Orsha’s clear blue eyes, the heart that had been fluttering for so long instantly settled.
Although she still didn’t understand the current situation, didn’t know who the people around her were, or where this spaceship was taking her, being sure of Orsha’s feelings for her made her feel completely safe as long as she could be by her side.
“Find a comfortable pair of shoes for her.” Orsha stood up and beckoned a subordinate, giving the order.
She saw Gano’s worried gaze, walked to the spaceship’s control panel, and began operating the ship’s system, asking, “In which direction is the satellite monitoring the ground?”
“It’s at a forty-five-degree angle to the left of the current spaceship, and it’s an unmanned satellite.”
Gano stood next to her, pointing at a silver artificial satellite on the space map.
“Good. Immediately change course towards this satellite. Be careful to avoid its detection range and slowly approach it from the rear!”
After giving the order to the pilot, Orsha brought up the spaceship’s attack system, gripped the missile launcher, and began aiming and testing on the satellite.
She had long been unhappy with this satellite. After being monitored by it for so long, she would now settle all the scores, old and new!
Gano understood what she was about to do and quickly said, “This satellite is the signal base station for communication between Cizer Planet and the outside world. Its outer protective shell is quite sturdy. The small, civilian missiles equipped by the Administration can only clear aerial meteors, they can’t destroy it!”
Orsha stared intently at the screen, seemingly not hearing Gano. The moment the satellite entered the spaceship’s firing range, she slightly adjusted the angle of the missile launcher, and with a bang, launched a missile that struck an aerial meteor floating behind the satellite.
The impact-generated acceleration sent the meteor hurtling towards the satellite, crackling with sparks. It was like a sharp stone slamming into thick glass, forcefully scoring a crack.
Orsha launched several more missiles in quick succession, each one precisely hitting the cracked lines, finally shattering the protective layer completely. The last missile flew directly through the fragmented opening into the satellite, effortlessly, as if she were merely shooting at targets on a firing range.
“Wow, that was so cool!” Hojia exclaimed, cradling her face in her hands. “She’s amazing at everything she does!”
“Of course! The Grand Princess is the youngest Air Force Major General in the Empire’s history!”
The subordinate who was bringing shoes for Hojia stood next to her, also with starry-eyed admiration.
Hojia turned her head, eyes wide: “Princess? Major General?!”
Who is she talking about?
Before she could get an answer, she was suddenly pulled by the arm by Orsha to the spaceship’s observation window. She saw the missile exploding in the satellite’s core, causing a chain reaction. The satellite slowly exploded from the inside out.
Viewed from space, Cizer Planet looked like a translucent, aquamarine glass sphere. With a series of loud bangs, the satellite diagonally above it suddenly erupted in a giant golden light of rising heat. Pieces of debris, like a meteor shower, scattered with sparks into the boundless darkness, eventually becoming silent, tiny dust.
“Wow, that’s magnificent!” Hojia gasped, pressed against the window.
Orsha turned her head, looking at the faint starlight reflected in Hojia’s eyes from the fire, and quietly took her hand.
The magnificent, casualty-free explosion in space was the first romantic fireworks she had gifted to Hojia.
